Camila Cabello Finally Premieres Drake Collaboration, “UUGLY,” At Rock In Rio Lisboa Festival

Camila Cabello finally premiered her highly-anticipated collaboration with Drake, “UUGLY,” while performing at the Rock in Rio Lisboa festival on Sunday night. The track will be included on her upcoming fourth studio album, C, XOXO, which drops later this month.

Fans on social media have been having a mixed response to the track. One user on X (formerly Twitter) replied to a clip of the song: “Honestly I think drake should just take off for a year or couple months.” That remark comes after his viral feud with Kendrick Lamar. Another fan wrote: “Damn bro fell off.” Others were more positive. One Drake fan remarked: “The actual [goat emoji] international not just in the west coast. Levels to this.”

Cabello previously discussed how the collaboration came together during an interview with Billboard in May. “He’s the f*cking GOAT, so it felt like shooting for the stars,” she said at the time, recalling how she messaged him on Instagram. “I showed him the album when I felt comfortable enough and he really liked it. [The feature] came out of a nontransactional place. He had this idea of a song called ‘Hot Uptown,’ and it just felt like I was in the city. I was in Miami.” She added: “He wanted to do one more thing for the album. Why does he have his own song? Because selfishly, I just want to hear Drake on my own album … I love that for me — it’s like that rebellious mood. Who says I can’t do that? It’s Drake talking his sh*t.”

She has released the Playboi Carti collab “I Luv It,” as well as the Lil Nas X-assisted “He Knows.” As the tracks indicate, Cabello is playing with more rhythmic, electronic, and dance-ready sounds.

C,XOXO is probably her most collab-heavy album, as revealed by the tracklist, which Cabello shared to social media today (June 12). In addition to the previously released Carti and Lil Nas X collabs, Drake will feature on the song “Hot Uptown” and the follow-up interlude, “Uuugly.” Fellow Miami natives JT and Yung Miami will also appear on the album, in the song “Dade County Dreaming.” It is worth noting that the once City Girls are listed simply as JT and Yung Miami on the tracklist, indicating that this could possibly be their last feature as a duo.

Camila Cabello’s upcoming album C, XOXO is now just a month away, as it’s set to drop at the end of June. As Cabello reveals in a new Billboard interview, the project should please Drake fans.

Cabello revealed that she and Drake were spotted in those much-discussed vacation photos because they were finishing a track together. She also divulged that she first reached out to Drake via Instagram DMs, saying, “He’s the f*cking GOAT, so it felt like shooting for the stars. I showed him the album when I felt comfortable enough and he really liked it. [The feature] came out of a non-transactional place. He had this idea of a song called ‘Hot Uptown,’ and it just felt like I was in the city. I was in Miami.”

Billboard describes the song as a “flirtatious, Caribbean-infused track.” It turns out the song isn’t only Drake’s appearance on the album, as he sings on the near-two-minute interlude “Uuugly” that immediately follows. Calvin Harris says the track was Drake’s idea, saying, “He wanted to do one more thing for the album.”

Cabello added, “Why does he have his own song? Because selfishly, I just want to hear Drake on my own album [laughs]. I love that for me — it’s like that rebellious mood. Who says I can’t do that? It’s Drake talking his sh*t.”

Camila Cabello And Lil Nas X Compete For The Same Man (Sort Of) In Their New ‘He Knows’ Video

Camila Cabello’s latest album, C, XOXO, is now a month and change away from its late June release date. To hold the fans over, Cabello’s latest single is the Lil Nas X team-up “He Knows,” which they’ve now given a new video.

The clip’s narrative is that the two artists are going toe-to-toe over the same man, but there’s ultimately a catch.

Cabello told Rolling Stone, “I’ve just never seen that in a video before. I just loved the idea of us fighting over this fluid guy, who we don’t know which way he’s leaning. We both would have so much fun with this and have so much fun with the video, so we got to make it a reality.”

She previously said of her upcoming album, “It’s really sitting in the discomfort of things and realizing there’s not gonna be a neat, in-a-box answer. I feel strong in these ways, weak in these ways, and there’s no real clear answer here. But the album process has been such a journey. It started out with me having that intention of going back to how it started for me, which was just sitting with myself and really getting back to that first passion of songwriting. Nerding out over references and artists and poetry — whatever — and really tapping into that.”
