Whether it be the playoffs or his time in Brooklyn, Simmons has made it seem like he does not care about basketball. Consequently, there is this sense that Ben is now officially an NBA bust. He was picked first overall back in 2016, however, he has not been able to live up to the hype.

Over the past few weeks, Simmons has been out of the Nets lineup. He has been dealing with back issues, including an impingement to a nerve. Although this is a serious problem, there are those who are simply fed up with the Ben Simmons experience. Some fans think he is faking, while others just want the Nets to pull the plug. Ultimately, there is quite a bit of confusion at play here, and the fans would just like to have some answers.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Nets have officially decided to shut Ben Simmons down for the rest of the season. It was a tough decision, but it had to be made. Ben Simmons “Probably Not” Returning To Nets This Season

Ben Simmons probably won’t return to the Brooklyn Nets court anytime this season, says Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn. Moreover, the former Philadelphia 76ers player hasn’t joined his Brooklyn teammates on a court since before the All-Star Weekend break. Ahead of the team’s Saturday night (March 25) game against the Miami Heat, Vaughn clarified the status of Simmons’ playtime. Furthermore, he said that he continues to deal with an injury, specifically a nerve impingement in his back. While this is official reason enough, many expressed enough disappointment in his Nets performance that they think more unfortunate moves are at play.

“For me as a coach, there’s some things that I can control, some things that I can’t control,” Vaughn said according to Tim Reynolds of AP. “What I can’t control is the impingement. What I can control is getting this group ready to play. And then in all honesty, the realism that he’s probably not going to join us for the rest of the year … certainty will come once he continues to be looked at by specialists.”

Ben Simmons Unlikely To Return To Nets This Season

Considering those back injuries, it’s unfortunate to see them contribute to what many call one of the biggest falls from grace in NBA history. Many might call that a stretch, but it shows the kind of potential that a player like the 26-year-old can demonstrate. For example, his injury issues coincided with what many interpret as a lack of confidence, lackluster performances in the league, and a lack of motivation to play basketball. Moreover, this development comes after the team announced his impingement on Friday (March 24), and after he missed all 16 games the Nets played in the second half of the year.

Even then, his stats in the games he did play didn’t paint him as a valuable asset to lose. Furthermore, he averaged 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.3 steals in 26.3 minutes per game. Fat Joe has always been a New York Knicks fan. Whenever there is a Knicks game in town, you can expect Fat Joe to be there. However, as a fan of the Knicks, he understands what it is like to have a broken heart. The Knicks are not exactly a beacon of success these days. Although, they are trying to change those fortunes. They have one of the hottest teams in the entire NBA, and New Yorkers are actually looking forward to the postseason. That said, there are others who are still preparing for the worst.

Overall, this Knicks’ success has created a conundrum for some fans. This is because a lot of New Yorkers abandoned the Knicks for the Brooklyn Nets. Of course, this was because of the addition of KD and Kyrie. Now, however, both of those men are gone and the Knicks are the better New York team. As Fat Joe explained in a recent social media stream, some Nets fans are trying to migrate back to the Knicks. The legendary artist is not having any of this, however, as he told those fickle fans to stay in their lane.

Overall, the artist makes a great point. These days, there are too many fake fans who like to change their allegiances. Real fans suffer through the pain of their team’s losses. Ben Simmons’ career has been on the decline for a while now. Overall, he just isn’t the player he used to be. After an abysmal showing in the 2021 NBA Playoffs, Simmons lost all of his confidence. Subsequently, he refused to play for the Philadelphia 76ers. Once he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets, he became non-existent. Back issues and other injury problems have completely kept him out of the lineup. That said, it seems likely that the Nets will try and find a way to get rid of him in the not-so-distant future.

Consequently, fans have completely lost favor with Simmons. They don’t really see what kind of value he brings to the NBA anymore. He has almost made it crystal clear that he has no interest in actually playing basketball. Overall, it is one of the worst falls from grace we have ever seen in the entire history of the NBA. As it turns out, the fall from grace is getting even worse as Simmons has just lost his representation.

According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, Simmons and Klutch Sports have “mutually decided to part ways.” For those who may not know, Klutch Sports is run by Rich Paul, who is LeBron’s, right-hand man. Simmons and Klutch had worked together since he was drafted into the league. However, they are now moving on from one another. Although, if you were to ask NBA Twitter about this, they would immediately tell you that this was Klutch Sports’ decision. At the end of the day, Simmons was making Paul’s brand look bad, and they decided to take action.

At this point, fans have completely fallen out of favor with Simmons. They think he is a scrub and that he is mostly useless to any team that tries to acquire him. Ben Simmons Continues To Be A No-Show

Ben Simmons used to be an elite player in the NBA. However, things have gone south for him over the last couple of years. It mostly started in the 2021 playoffs when Simmons was awful against the Atlanta Hawks. Overall, the Sixers fanbase turned on him and it ruined his confidence. Subsequently, he held out from the Sixers and forced them to trade him. Last year, they made it happen as he was sent to the Brooklyn Nets. As we all know, he never played a single game with them until this season.

Although, it is not like Simmons was especially good in the games that he did play. Simmons was doing nothing on offense as he seemed scared to shoot the ball. While he did rack up assists, it was not what the Nets were expecting of him. Besides, it was all for nothing as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were promptly traded from the team. Now, Simmons is still with the Nets, but he hasn’t played in weeks. This is due to lingering back issues that have left Nets fans completely frustrated.

Recently, Brian Lewis of The New York Post asked Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn about Simmons. Essentially, fans should not expect to be back on the court, anytime soon. “Yeah, I think first of all I’ll just be pretty simple. He’s still managing his back and knee soreness,” Vaughn said. “He’s back home in Brooklyn. We’ll get a chance to kind of see where he’s at when we get back home after this trip.” Overall, this is just more of the same from Simmons. He is never healthy when his team needs him to be, and at this point, it is hard to imagine him ever being a star again.

There have been reports that Simmons’ trade value is completely cooked. No one is trying to acquire him as he would just be dead weight. Cam has a particular attachment to his New York teams, and he just wants the best for them. Although, when they are playing poorly, he does not hold back on what their issues are. For instance, while speaking on the Nets recently, Cam’ron absolutely obliterated Ben Simmons.

Cam’ron Refuses To Hold Back

“Ben Simmons, at this point you are costing me money,” Cam began. “I don’t know where you’re gonna go but get the f*** out of New York. We don’t really want you around. You’re a disgrace. Philly, y’all are suckers for shipping him over to us. Y’all can take him.” This is about as harsh as it can get when it comes to sports analysis. However, Simmons should be very used to it by now. He has been awful as a member of the Nets. Furthermore, it feels like he isn’t even trying to get on the court. Instead, he is just constantly injured which makes for a very rough go of things.

It seems like the Nets are already looking to move on From Simmons. However, it is going to be hard to do that as there is no trading market for him. Kevin Durant Gets Emotional While Speaking On The Nets

Kevin Durant is now a proud member of the Phoenix Suns. Overall, he is one of the best players in the league, and he has just turned the Suns into title contenders. With Chris Paul and Devin Booker by his side, there is no doubt that the Suns should be strong. Although, there is now immense pressure on that roster, and if they are not able to deliver, then the fans are going to be angry beyond belief. Not to mention, KD is still injured which means there will be less opportunity for chemistry building ahead of the postseason.

Yesterday, Durant had his introductory press conference with the Suns. It was a very fun day for Durant as he even got to wear his Suns uniform for the first time. The media in Phoenix welcomed KD with open arms, and overall, it was nice to hear from him for the first time since the trade. According to TMZ, Durant is excited to be in Phoenix, although he is definitely sad about how things turned out in Brooklyn. In fact, he was even a bit emotional with tears in his eyes while speaking on his former team.

“I built a family over there,” he said. “They gon’ always be a part of my journey.” Moreover, Durant feels an extra bond with the players over in Brooklyn because they helped him when he needed it the most. “I love those guys,” Durant explained. “I get emotional talking about ’em because that was a special four years of my career, coming off an Achilles [injury] and they helped me a lot.” Needless to say, Durant truly wanted to win a title in Brooklyn. However, that was going to be impossible as soon as Kyrie Irving demanded a trade out of town.

At this point, Durant needs to win a title in Phoenix in order to sure up his legacy. If he cannot get it done with Chris Paul and D-Book, then some will have a lot to say about his run. Ben Simmons’ Looming Fate In Brooklyn Revealed

Ben Simmons has not been very good for the Brooklyn Nets. Overall, he was supposed to turn the Nets into a big three. This big three would include Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. However, we know how that turned out. Kyrie and KD are now in the Western Conference, while Simmons is by himself on a Nets team that has completely retooled. Moreover, Simmons has not been particularly good, and the team is starting to lose patience with him. Needless to say, things have gone bad to worse for his career.

On top of all of this, Simmons has reportedly been dealing with injury problems. However, his head coach Jacque Vaughn doesn’t seem all that convinced that there is an issue. That said, there now seems to be a lack of trust between Simmons and the Nets organization. This has made everything that much worse for the Nets who could very well be looking to move on from Ben in the offseason.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, Simmons’ fate is pretty well sealed. It is now very likely that the Nets will try to move him, even if it isn’t easy to do. “What becomes of Simmons and the final two years and nearly $80 million remaining on his contract after this season is of course another dynamic to monitor in Brooklyn,” Fischer wrote. “The Nets are widely expected to gauge what trade market could materialize for Simmons after his disappointing campaign comes to a close. The three-time All-Star is still far from the form he exhibited during his best days in Philadelphia.”

Recently, a report came out suggesting that Simmons had no trade value right now. If that is actually true, then the Nets are in big trouble moving forward. Nets Guard Cam Thomas Fined $40K For “No Homo” Comment During TV Interview

The NBA just fined Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas for using the phrase “no homo” during a post-game interview. Moreover, he made such comments during an on-court interview with teammate Spencer Dinwiddie on TNT. Following their victory against the Chicago Bulls on February 9, Thomas let the phrase fly. “We already got good-looking dudes, no homo,” he told the interviewer as he laughed with his teammate. “I’m sure the legal office will enjoy that one,” the interviewer remarked, and he wasn’t wrong.

Furthermore, the NBA released a statement on Friday (February 10) acknowledging Thomas’ comments. “Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas has been fined $40,000 for using derogatory and disparaging language during a live television interview,” their statement read. “It was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations. Thomas made his comments during an on-court interview at the conclusion of the Nets‘ 116-105 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Feb. 9 at Barclays Center.”

Meanwhile, the Nets guard took to Twitter to apologize for his comments and clarify his intent. “I want to apologize for the insensitive word I used in the post-game interview, I was excited about the win and was being playful. I definitely didn’t intend to offend anyone, but realize that I probably did. My apologies again. Much love.”

Still, a lot of people think that this might be taking things a bit too far. For example, many compared it to the backlash Kyrie Irving received last year. “But let Kyrie say that they gon label him homophobic and make him sit down and talk to gay people,” a tweeter posted. “And donate his money to the LGBTQ foundation. They pick and choose who they wanna critique.” However, to equate a playful comment to pushing unjust discrimination against Jewish people is wildly short-sighted. Regardless, many believe that double standards might be at play.

Kevin Durant is one of the best players in the entire NBA. Overall, he is one of those players that any franchise would want to have on their team. After all, they now have players like Deandre Ayton, KD, Chris Paul, and Devin Booker. If you are a team in the Western Conference, you are probably very fearful of the Suns’ power right now. Needless to say, it is going to be fun to watch over the coming months.

Kevin Durant Was A Wanted Man

Moreover, it shouldn’t have to be said that there were other teams trying to get their hands on Durant. One such team was none other than the Memphis Grizzlies. They are one more star away from domination in the Western Conference. According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, the Grizzlies are well aware of this. So much so that they were willing to trade every pick and every pick swap in order to ensure KD’s arrival in Tennessee. However, they were unable to finalize anything as Durant had his heart set on the Suns.

Durant on the Grizzlies would have been a wild sight to see. Although, we will never know how that could have gone. Unless, of course, KD gets tired of the Suns and demands yet another trade.
