Bronny James Earns Rare Praise From His G-League Teammate

Bronny James is getting plenty of love from his new teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers’ G-League affiliate team. 21-year-old Armel Traore caught up with TMZ at LAX and in doing so, praised the son of NBA legend LeBron James. “He’s my guy,” the small forward said. “And I like everyone on the team, we’re a family.”

Of being in the G-League himself, Traore added: “I’m blessed to be here. Just wanna keep going, it’s just the start. Every time I get my chance in the big gym, I’m showing my stuff, and in the G League, play my game.” Traore signed a two-way contract with the South Bay Lakers after going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft. He’s from Créteil, France.

The Lakers selected Bronny with the 55th overall pick in the same draft in which Traore went unselected. After Bronny started out the season with the main team, head coach JJ Redick adjusted his standing to being a “fluid” member of the G-League. “Our plans are always fluid based on real time,” Redick told reporters, earlier this season, as caught by ESPN. “I believe we have two guys dressing today that as of yesterday we’re not dressing out. The plan for Bronny to move between the Lakers and South Bay has always been the plan since day one. [General manager] Rob [Pelinka] and I have talked about that. LeBron’s talked about that.”

LeBron James’ Quiting Social Media After Sharing Post About “Negativity” Leaves Fans Blaming Bronny

LeBron James announced that he’s quitting social media for the “time being” in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday afternoon. He had just shared a post from Rich Kleiman, in which the entrepreneur complained about negatively in the sports world while praising the rare sincerity of JJ Reddick and LeBron James’ short-lived Mind the Game podcast.

“With so much hate and negativity in the world today, it confuses me why some of National sports media still think that the best way to cover sports is through negative takes,” Kleiman wrote. “We can all acknowledge that sports is the last part of society that universally brings people together. So why can’t the coverage do the same? It’s only click bait when you say it. When the platform is so big, you can make the change and allow us all an escape from real life negativity. I for one find it all a waste of breath. The Olympics and JJ and Bron’s show was the future of what this can and should all be.” After reposting the statement, James wrote: “And with that said I’ll holla at y’all! Getting off social media for the time being. Y’all take care.”

Fans quickly brought up the nepotism accusations LeBron’s son, Bronny, has faced online. One user in the replies joked: “The only reason you’re even on the Lakers is because of your son. You’re a complete nepotism signing. You weren’t even good enough to make a college basketball roster.” While more brought up the constant criticism of Bronny, others cited the NBA’s recent dip in ratings and more possible reasons for LeBron to want to log off.

Bronny James Won’t Travel For G League Games, Sparking Even More Nepotism Accusations

Bronny James is facing even more complaints about nepotism after ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported that the son of NBA star LeBron James won’t be traveling with the Los Angeles Lakers’ South Bay G League affiliate for away games. Windhorst discussed the move during an episode of the The Hoop Collective Podcast, on Wednesday.

“He’s only going to play in the South Bay Lakers’ home games. He’s only going to kind of be a part-time G League player, and he’s not getting on United Airlines to fly to these road games,” Windhorst revealed. He went on to describe it as “special treatment and nepotism” while criticizing the Lakers for the decision.

Bronny James Is Still A “Laker” But In The G-League Now

Bronny James has been assigned to the NBA’s G-League to play for the South Bay Lakers, NBA reports. Earlier reports indicated LeBron James’ son would play in the development league after being drafted in the second round by the Los Angeles Lakers. After improving in the preseason, the 20-year-old USC shooting guard made history in October by becoming the first father-son pair to play in the NBA. Bronny has been one of the organizaton’s biggest attractions so far.

Bronny James played in four games since October, including a homecoming against the Cavilers, and averaged 1 point, 0.2 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 0.2 assists. The number of his jersey is inspired by the late recording artist JuiceWrld. Rich Paul, the agent of LeBron James and Bronny’s agent, claimed that the NBA star played better than most of the brench. Bronny Reports To The “South Bay” Lakers For Development

LeBron’s son heads to the G-League while the icon continues to dominate the NBA as the oldest active player. In his sixth year with the Lakers – 22 years in the NBA – James has averaged 24 points and 6 rebounds. The small forward is on pace to achieve over 40,000 points in the NBA. James led the Lakers to an NBA championship in 2020.

King James prepared his son well as the newcomer embarks on his rookie season. Before playing against the Sacremento Kings in the season opener, LeBron told his son, “You about ready? You see the intensity, right? Just play carefree, tho. Don’t worry about mistakes, just go out and play hard.” Was Bronny playing in the G-League always the plan? Savannah James Uses Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” For Instagram Story Featuring LeBron & Bronny

Recently, Savannah James took to her Instagram Story to share a sweet photo of herself alongside LeBron and their kids. This post might appear to be innocent enough. Social media users were quick to notice, however, that it was accompanied by Kendrick Lamar’s track “Not Like Us.” The post has now been deleted.

The choice of song was interesting on Savannah’s part, considering some of the rumors surrounding her husband in recent months. It’s been speculated that Drake has beef with LeBron and Savannah, and while this is unconfirmed, LeBron has been spotted on various occasions rapping along to Kendrick’s Drake diss tracks, attended the Pop Out, and more. Savannah was even seen rocking a pgLang t-shirt at the Olympics. This then led to theories that she too has issues with the Toronto rapper

A few weeks ago, Drake also unfollowed LeBron, along with Metro Boomin, Joe Budden, DeMar DeRozan, Playboi Carti, and Kendrick Lamar. While this didn’t totally confirm the rumors, it certainly fueled them, and even potentially earned a response from LeBron. The Lakers Daily Twitter account posted footage of LeBron warming up to Drake’s music the day after reports of the unfollow surfaced, which may or may not have been related.

Drake and LeBron’s rumored beef has earned mixed reactions from social media users. While some believe that Drake has a right to be upset with those who have turned their backs on him, others think he’s being too sensitive. Earlier this month, Joe Budden also called Drake out, and questioned how good of a friend he really is if so many people were willing to join in on the “20 V 1.” What do you think of Savannah James posting an Instagram Story featuring Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”? In a moment destined for the history books, LeBron James and his son, Bronny James, became the first father-son duo to play together in an NBA game. It happened during the Los Angeles Lakers’ season opener when LeBron went to the bench midway through the second quarter, sat beside his son, and shared a few final words of advice.

“You about ready?” LeBron asked. “Mm-hmm,” Bronny responded. LeBron then encouraged his son, telling him to play carefree and not worry about mistakes, just to give it his all.

With four minutes left in the first half, the two walked to the scorer’s table and checked into the game together, sharing the court for two minutes and 41 seconds. During that time, LeBron set up a drive-and-kick to Bronny for a three-point attempt, which had the crowd at Crypto.com Arena buzzing, but the shot rimmed out.

While the father-son duo didn’t connect on the play, the moment will be the first of many throughout the season. LeBron reflected on the historic milestone, expressing how much it meant to him to work alongside his son after years of sacrificing family time for his NBA career. “This is one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever gotten from the man above,” LeBron said.

Bronny, meanwhile, described the experience as unforgettable, particularly the walk to the scorer’s table. “That’s a crazy moment that I’ll never forget,” he shared.

Adding to the significance, MLB legends Ken Griffey Jr. and Sr., the first father and son to play together in baseball, were courtside to witness the historic night. They shared a moment with the James family before the game, bringing together two generations of father-son sports icons.

Bronny James’ Los Angeles Lakers Debut Gets The Meme Treatment

Bronny James is one of the biggest names in basketball this year thanks to the fact that his father is LeBron James. Overall, Bronny’s foray into the NBA has been controversial. Many felt like it was undeserved when the Lakers drafted him. Moreover, his preseason was not the greatest, aside from one match in which he scored 17 points. Heading into the season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves, it was anticipated that Bronny would get some minutes.

Again, some basketball fans were very much against this. However, no one could deny just how incredible it was when Bronny walked onto the court for the first time with his dad right next to him. Bronny only got to play for about three minutes. He picked up a rebound and missed a three-point shot that would have been assisted by his dad. Having said that, the Lakers were able to win agaisnt the reigning Western Conference Finalists, which is a big achievement, especially in JJ Redick’s first game as head coach.
