Boosie Badazz Thinks Drake’s Neighborhood’s Shooting Could’ve Been Much Worse

While no one has been able to confirm whether or not the recent shooting near Drake’s home in his Toronto neighborhood has anything to do with his beef with Kendrick Lamar, other rappers, or other conflicts in his personal life or multi-faceted career, it certainly wrapped up the K.Dot battle on a scary, extreme, and hopefully outlying note that, fingers crossed, doesn’t escalate into further violence. However, Boosie Badazz thinks the shooting could’ve been worse. During a recent DJ Vlad interview on VladTV, he called out the hypocrisy of rap fans wanting to see beef go hard and demanding fast responses to diss tracks despite real-life situations. The question the Baton Rouge rapper had for these individuals was this: what if Adonis had gotten shot instead of a security guard?

Furthermore, Boosie thinks that folks are too quick to celebrate or minimize the impact of violence when it doesn’t affect the famous people we know or innocent bystanders. This goes not just for rap beef, but violence in general in the music industry, local communities, and other spaces. Also, he suggested that the rampant social media discussion around rap battles can eventually lead to violence escalating, which didn’t happen before because folks had to actually do something horrible before seeing retaliation. The 41-year-old also expressed his belief that neither Drake nor Kendrick Lamar can stop their crews from turning to extremes.

Boosie Badazz Speaks On The Bridle Path Shooting & Drake’s Son

“In my comments, they’re saying ‘Boosie calm down, it’s Drake and Kendrick,’” he told DJ Vlad concerning people’s reactions downplaying the chance for the battle to turn violent. “That’s what most people are telling me. Is that same Drake and Kendrick the same 20 people around you in your entourage? That’s not the same person.”

Drake’s Toronto home, nicknamed “The Embassy” became the subject of intense media coverage following its unveiling on Architectural Digest in 2020. The $100 million mansion is now in the news for something other than its grandeur. Drake now joins the long list of music stars whose homes have become the target of shootings. On Tuesday, the 7th of April, the Toronto police released reports of a shooting that occurred. As of this moment, there has been only one major casualty, which is a seriously injured security personnel who was outside the mansion at the time of the incident. There has since been growing speculation that perhaps this incident is connected to Drake and Kendrick’s ongoing beef, though authorities haven’t confirmed whether that’s the case. The Shooting

At about 2 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8th, a shooting occurred outside Drake’s massive 50,000 square feet mansion in Toronto. The victim was a security guard employed at the property, who was standing outside the gates when the incident took place. According to police, the guard was shot and sustained serious injuries around his chest region in what has been speculated to be a drive-by shooting (police didn’t confirm whether that’s the case). However, authorities have stated that he is presently receiving care.

Investigation And Speculation

The Toronto Police are actively investigating the shooting incident at Drake’s home. However, they have not released any descriptions of potential suspects. Furthermore, information about the getaway vehicle involved has also not been disclosed at the moment. Police said that they did collect “some video evidence which captures the incident,” though that has yet to surface. Unfortunately, on Wednesday, May 8, the police were called back to the home, where an intruder was finally apprehended, according to Toronto’s City News. 

As the investigation continues, authorities are working to determine the motive behind the attack, which remains unknown at this stage. The police have not confirmed whether Drake was present at his mansion during the shooting. However, pictures show that there were cars packed in the home. Lead inspector Paul Krawczyk has informed the public that the suspect(s) made their escape on wheels. 

This incident has raised eyebrows due to the rapper’s recent high-profile feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. The two have been engaged in a heated exchange, trading diss tracks and leveling unsubstantiated allegations against each other. However, authorities have cautioned against drawing any premature conclusions about a potential connection between Drake’s rap beef and the shooting. That won’t stop the rumor from circulating like wildfire though. Drake’s Security Guard Was Reportedly Shot Multiple Times, Witnesses Allegedly Describe It As A “Drive-By”

If you are a Drake fan, you know what Bridle Path is. This is the neighborhood where the artist resides at in Toronto. Overall, he has a massive mansion in this area, and some even liken it to a compound of sorts. Of course, it was recently the subject of Kendrick Lamar’s cover art for the song “Not Like Us.” However, the neighborhood is now making headlines for a shooting that occurred last night at around 2 AM. According to reports, a man was shot in the area and underwent surgery for his injuries. Meanwhile, the party(ies) responsible fled the scene and are still at large.

At the time of the initial reports, it was made clear that Drake was not injured in all of this. However, the details surrounding where in Bridle Path this happened, remain murky. According to DJ Akademiks, police were blocking off the street around Drake’s home. Furthermore, a new image posted by Akademiks has led to some speculation as to what may have gone down. There is a caution tape outside of the front door. Moreover, a new report from the Toronto Sun claims that the artist’s security guard was shot multiple times. He was then taken to the hospital, although the wounds were not life-threatening.

Drake Was Unharmed In The Shooting

In the Toronto Sun report, it was alleged that witnesses are calling it a “drive-by shooting.” For now, however, the police are still currently in the midst of an investigation.
