According to XXL, the Houston rapper has always been a big supporter of the brand and she was able to run a commercial with them during the 2022 Super Bowl.

That was with the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, but still more partnering down the line was possible, and now we are here. The reason that Megan is collaborating with Frito Lay once again, is for a pretty awesome reason. Being a Houston native, she attended college down in her hometown. She graduated from Texas Southern University, an HBCU, earning her bachelor’s degree in health administration back in 2021. Just two years later, this campaign they are starting is a bit of a full-circle moment for her.

According to an Instagram story posted by the rapper, the company wanted him to make a post about them. “Turn $200k down for a weed post,” Durk said on his story. “I rather promote my brother weed first.” That amount of money is nothing to sneer at, so it’s surprising that the rapper would turn it down. However, it seems his loyalty to his friends takes precedence, which is admirable. Some in the comments, however, chastised him for the decision.

“Real homies would take that 200k and invest it in your Bro’s company,” one comment said of Lil Durk’s decision. It is worth noting that Lil Durk does frequently invest in his community. In fact, he recently donated $350,000 to Howard University in the form of scholarships and grants.
