A Video Of Eminem Greeting Bobby Shmurda At A Show Has People Excited About What It Could Mean

On Friday, Eminem and Snoop Dogg released their new single, “From The D To The LBC,” with a partially-animated video that shows them turning into Bored Ape NFTs. So it’s only fitting that they performed the song together at this past week’s NFT-centric ApeFest 2022 in New York City. But a video of Eminem walking off the stage after the performance has people talking, and it’s not about NFTs.

As Em walks off, he greets a few people that were watching the set from the side of the stage. Cordae was among them, who gets a big hug when Slim Shady notices him and they exchange brief words. Then just as Em is about to keep walking, Bobby Shmurda, who was standing with Cordae, grabs Eminem’s attention shouting, “Big homie!” and the two dap up and have a quick hug as Em walks off and Shmurda sports a huge smile.

Given that Eminem and Cordae previously collaborated on remixes of “Killer” and “Parables (Remix),” people are speculating on Twitter as to whether this means that Em and Shmurda could have a track on deck? “Listen… an Eminem and Bobby Shmurda collab. I’d invest,” one person said. “Ain’t no way I just watched a video of Bobby Shmurda dapping up Eminem,” another added.

Meanwhile, other folks are laughing at the fact that Eminem nearly walked past Shmurda, saying things like, “Eminem Straight up did not know that was Bobby Shmurda standing next to Cordae last night Backstage at ApeFest2022.”

Regardless, the sheer happiness on Bobby Shmurda’s face (a dude who just spent almost seven years in jail and is back on the grind) at having a moment with Eminem, is something anyone with half a heart can get behind.

Cordae is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

It’s no secret that over time, the role of a producer has become even more important. Many people today say that the reason they like a lot of songs is because of the beat, and some would even argue that the beat is better than the artists. Earlier this week, Bobby Shmurda went on a rant about producers overcharging for beats.

“I done made over half a million for the year, can’t be that bad outside. “I’m trying to drop my project, but these n*gga is asking me clearances and these f*ckin’ producers are asking for some crazy sh*t,” Bobby said. “I don’t know what rumors is going around, they think, ‘Oh Bobby just droppin’ bags, this, that, whatever.’ Givin’ no n*ggas $10,000, $8,000 for no f*ckin’ producer.”

Bobby’s rant was sure to ruffle some feathers within the producer community, and even caught the attention of superproducers Boi-1da and Cardo.

Boi-1da responded to Bobby in the comments section of 2Cool2Blog‘s Instagram post. “Designer beats cost designer prices,” he commented.

However, Cardo would ask for all the smoke in his response to Shmurda. Cardo took to Twitter where he said that artists have no respect for producers.

“Rappers saying producers overpricing their beats shows u we don’t get any respect in this shit. Y’all N*ggas weird,” he tweeted. “We HAVE to make y’all n*ggas pay us more every time … cuz y’all be tryna offer 2500 for a beat. I gotta let it off one time,” Cardo said in his first two tweets.

Cardo continued his rant, adding “and in most cases that never works and n*ggas have no choice but to settle for that 2500 cuz we got mouths feed and bills to pay. I’m just speaking up for the producer community… that’s all. No complaining of any sort … but y’all will not continue to try and step on N*ggas over here. Cuz Im fasho with the bullsh*t. Just ask around.”

Cardo ended by saying “I’m out this b*tch … y’all have a pleasant and blessed evening like any other. Love y’all. Album otw.”

Bobby Shmurda

Bobby Shmurda was released from prison in February of last year after serving six years behind bars. Since his release, Shmurda has released a string of singles, but no project. Now, it looks like he’s trying to heat the summer up, but there’s one thing standing in his way: producers and beatmakers.

In a video posted on Instagram, Bobby goes off on producers and beatmakers for overcharging him for beats, saying that “it can’t be that bad outside.”

Producers and beatmakers aren’t the only people that Shmurda has a problem with. The rapper aired out his grievances with artists who send him songs with too many people on it.

“Who the f*ck told you n*ggas to f*cking make songs with 10 muthaf*ckers on the song b*tch n*gga, f*ck you sending me? Those bumass n*ggas be sending me shit like that with like 10 n*ggas on the song, bro. Don’t play me bro.”

With Bobby Shmurda being from New York, he has some big shoes to fill when it comes to impact in the game. While he’s only been in the game for a few years, and his career was stalled while serving 6 years in prison, it seems as if he’s already getting compared to some of the GOAT’s of hip hop,

Shmurda sat down with Power 106 in Los Angeles and spoke about fans comparing him to hip hop legends including Jay-Z, 50 Cent, DMX, and Diddy.

“I get a lot of DMX, P. Diddy, 50, and Jay comparisons sometimes,” Bobby said. “But when I see Jay I’m like Jay? Jay is wild calm. I’m more err, but I think when I’m on my business side, like when I get in those rooms and shit, yeah, it’s a different person in me, so it’s like you get what you get, I guess. Like I could be at any given time, I can change. When it’s business time, alright, it’s time for business; there’s time for fun and time for ah ah ah. So it’s like a time and place for everything, I know that.”

Bobby Shmurda and Joyner Lucas Give $25K to Rising Artist for Delivering a Stellar Verse in Shmoney Challenge

FUQMqqPX0AAHd

Bobby Shmurda and Joyner Lucas have teamed up to award $25,000 to Oswin Benjamin, an independent artist, for delivering the hardest verse over the beat for Bobby’s hit “Shmoney.”

Bobby had already issued a challenge to his fans and supporters, instructing them to sign up for Joyner’s Tully platform, download the Shmoney beat, upload their verse, and share it with Bobby through Joyner’s website.

Bobby and Joyner appeared on Instagram Live together to announce Oswin Benjamin as the winner of the $25,000 prize. Speaking during the session, Joyner revealed he wants “Tully to be the lottery ticket for artists. It’s like the lottery, right? Because you never know what the next opportunity is.”

Tully was developed in 2015 by Lucas and his business partner Dhruv Joshi as a way to expedite the creative music process using digital tools. The two collaborated to create tools that directly influenced Joyner’s independent music success, and they’re now sharing them with other musicians to keep them in complete control of their careers. Tully offers a 360-degree array of tools for artists to manage and expand their businesses, including guided workflows, organized asset management, templated industry contracts, publication, and licensing support.

Tully provides management services such as contract and split sheet storage, as well as songwriting tools for artists to play, compose, and record music.

All of this functionality is accessible via a smartphone app, which Lucas, an independent artist, uses. Tully allows independent musicians to collect 100% of their royalties, have access to royalty-free beats, and have digital copyrights for their creative work, among other benefits.

Bobby Shmurda Takes Aim At Mass Shooters Who Target Schools: ‘It’s F*cking Kids!’

Bobby Shmurda is still finding his footing in the music industry after his release from prison last year. This process has resulted in him parting ways with his longtime label Epic Records and moving forward as an independent act. So far, Bobby has released two singles as an independent rapper, but he’s also used the past year to speak out about things that he’s deemed important. He shared his support for New York’s Rap On Trial bill, voiced his displeasure with not having control over his music, and more. In his latest message, Bobby addressed school shootings and what he feels needs to be done.

“We pay all this motherf*cking tax money,” Bobby said to TMZ which approached him as he was hanging out with Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast co-host Wallo267. “You know what my motherf*cking tax bill was last year?” He continued by suggesting that schools should increase their security. Next, Bobby took aim at mass shooters who target these schools.

“Let me tell you why they ain’t come to my block and shoot sh*t up or why they don’t go into the precinct and shoot sh*t up, cause they gonna shoot right back at your motherf*cking ass,” Bobby said. “It’s kids! It’s f*cking kids! Kids! Shoot at my black ass n****. Come shoot at me watch what happen.”

Bobby’s message comes a little over a week after the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas which left 19 children and two adults dead.

Bobby Shmurda Is In Retaliation Mode On Their Vengeful ‘Get ‘Em Back’

Since his release from prison early last year, Bobby Shmurda struggled to find his groove with music in the industry. For what it’s worth, that kind of thing is expected as he spent seven years behind bars. Prior to last month, Bobby had only released four records when many hoped they would’ve received a project from him by now. Seeing that a change was needed, Bobby demanded to be released from his longtime label, Epic Records, and when that wish was eventually granted, he sought to do things his way for the foreseeable future. He kicked off his journey as an independent artist with “They Don’t Know” and now he’s back with “Get ‘Em Back.”

Bobby’s new record is as energetic and high-spirited as he’s been in the public eye since his release from prison. In the video that accompanies the track, Bobby is all smiles as he turns up with a group of women on an outdoor basketball court. He also heads to the artic to keep things going in the video. The track itself is quite a vengeful one as it presents Bobby in retaliation mode. “N****s be waitin’ to tap in / I just be waitin’ to clap it,” he raps. “N****s be waitin’ and askin’ / I just be wavin’ the mag.’”

The new track arrives after Bobby voiced his support for New York’s Rap On Trial bill after it passed the Senate.

You can watch the video for “Get ‘Em Back” above.
