Future & Travis Scott Make History For Severely Different Reasons On The Billboard Hot 200 Chart

There have been a ton of rappers who have been having terrific stretches in 2024. Two of them are the leading voices of trap in Future and Travis Scott. For the former, he’s been on a 2015-esque run, being a part of three albums in WE DON’T TRUST YOU, WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, and MIXTAPE PLUTO. Of course, you can’t forget about some of his features for artists like Kanye West, Yeat, The Kid LAROI, and more. As for La Flame, the success has come in similar but slightly different manner. He came through for his OG fans by reissuing his 2014 mixtape DAYS BEFORE RODEO, days after its 10-year anniversary. His run guest appearances has also been impressive as he’s linked with Metro Boomin and Future, Kanye, Nicki Minaj, Mustard, 21 Savage, and more.

Because of both of their output, it’s lead to some incredible success on the charts. In fact, its historic on both sides, but it’s also for vastly different reasons, according to HipHopDX (via Billboard). Its official now that Future will be heading back to the top of the heap for MIXTAPE PLUTO after selling 129,000 equivalent units. With this, Pluto becomes the first musical act in six decades since The Beatles to go number one three times in six months. This makes him the fourth artist to have 11 projects do this well. As you can see below, Future was pretty ecstatic to hear about this.

Future Reacts To The Success Of MIXTAPE PLUTO

However, for Scott, he’s on the wrong side of history. DAYS BEFORE RODEO recently just topped the Hot 200 after vinyl shipments started going out. 156,000 units went out in its fourth week and ironically overtook Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet after losing in the inaugural battle by a mere 1,000 units. Now, though, just a week later, DBR is off the list entirely. This is the first time that has ever occurred. The project was seeing some similar woes in its second week with it having the steepest decline in sales for a tape that was still on the charts.

What are your thoughts on Future and Travis Scott’s vastly different performance on the charts? Are you surprised that DAYS BEFORE RODEO is completely off the Hot 200? What about MIXTAPE PLUTO going number one? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Travis Scott’s “DAYS BEFORE RODEO” Projected To Go Number One Again Thanks To New Wave Of Sales

The reissuing of Travis Scott’s DAYS BEFORE RODEO has been a rollercoaster of emotions. It went from pure jubilance to gut-wrenching heartbreak and anger. Those feelings were certainly prevalent during the uber-competitive race to the top of the Billboard Hot 200 chart. Initially, Travis was behind by 100,000 units to Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet. Then a massive surge in sales eventually projected him to narrowly beat the pop singer. However, due to some recounting, one of Nicki Minaj’s new favorite artists would go onto to hold off the 10-year-old mixtape by just 1,000 copies.

Things would only continue to get worse for La Flame and his fans, though. DBR would then suffer the biggest sales percentage drop-off over the last decade for an album that remained on the Billboard chart. It went from number two to 30, and now, it’s currently at 106, according to HipHopDX. But HITS Daily Double has some incredibly shocking news. With shipments of vinyls making their way to consumers as we speak, DAYS BEFORE RODEO is now looking at a number one projection once again.

Travis Scott’s DAYS BEFORE RODEO Goes From Historic Low To Incredible High

As it stands, Travis Scott’s beloved project is on pace to move 130,000, with 125,000 of them being pure sales. This is currently enough to outpace Sabrina, who has been holding the number one spot for three consecutive weeks. Her album is looking to sell around 101,000. Fans make take this news with a grain of a salt, but we would be utterly shocked if Scott didn’t finally get to the top of the heap.

What are your thoughts on Travis Scott being projected to go number one with DAYS BEFORE RODEO? Is this one of the wildest sales fluctuations you have seen? Do you still think he was robbed from topping the chart a few weeks ago? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Travis Scott Fans Convinced That Billboard Orchestrated A Heist To Let Sabrina Carpenter Go Number One

Whenever Travis Scott falls just short of winning something, it feels like his fans can be more upset than him. That seems to be the case, at least for now. If you head over to X (formerly Twitter), you are going to see a lot of angry reactions over Sabrina Carpenter narrowly defeating La Flame in the intense sales battle. Overall, that isn’t really news. However, what is interesting is the fact that fans of Travis Scott are accusing Billboard of tampering with the final results. According to an account by the name of In The Mix, they came across some apparent video evidence of this “robbery”.

In the allegedly accurate footage, a user is navigating the Music Connect platform and heads over to a “Daily Billboard 200” data base. After clicking on it, it shows the week in which the sales would be tallied, August 22-29. As you’ll be able to see, the results before the final recount show that Scott was actually ahead of Sabrina, 365,817 to 354,436. Of course, the official results were 362,000 to 361,000 in favor of the pop hitmaker. Furthermore, it shows that DAYS BEFORE RODEO was whaling on Short n’ Sweet in terms of physical sales, 333,582 to 177,382.

Travis Scott Fans Claim To Have Proof Of Billboard’s Shenanigans

Conversely, the actual numbers were 331,000 for Scott and 184,000 for Carpenter. For context, the clip was posted on X about 12 hours ago, quite a bit after the last count was announced. Overall, the fans could have valid evidence, but it’s definitely hard to be 100% sure. Billboard, among others, go back forth on whether or not include bundles, deluxe versions, and etc. into the total. In this case, if this video is true then there may be a chance that they removed some sales. Or there could have been an honest mistake and they did in fact include all of the different packages each artist offered.

What are your thoughts on Travis Scott fan’s asserting that Billboard had something to do with Sabrina Carpenter beating him in sales? With the supposed evidence above, do you think they have a point? Or did the outlet make a genuine mistake with the final tally? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Travis Scott. Travis Scott Ironically Ties A Previously Held Chart Debut Record By Nicki Minaj

Travis Scott fought Sabrina Carpenter to the very end. However, he fell just shy of squeaking past the Pennsylvania pop star for the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 200. Still, though, moving 361,000 copies of a 10-year-old mixtape compared to a highly anticipated brand-new record from one of the hottest artists is nothing to be disappointed in. It just goes to prove that he’s one of the biggest rappers, but also superstar musician overall. AllHipHop has the stats to prove that, as Scott is now in the top five for biggest debuts of 2024 in terms of sales. He slots in at number four, just behind Sabrina, Beyonce’s COWBOY CARTER, and the phenom Taylor Swift with The Tortured Poets Department.

In addition to this, Travis is also tying old records. Back in 2021, Nicki Minaj also rereleased an old mixtape. She reissued 2009’s Beam Me Up Scotty and by doing so, The Queen of New York went on to have the highest charting debut in that regard. It went number two in late May with around 80,000 units sold. Obviously, Scott obliterated the sales numbers, but he also a little bit stiffer competition.

Travis Scott & Nicki Minaj Seem To Always Be Linked Somehow

According to Rap-Up, Nicki was vying for number one with J. Cole’s The Off-Season, which had 288,000 buyers. That’s nearly 100,000 more than Sabrina’s 362,000 album equivalent sales. Overall, though, it’s kind of funny how Travis and Nicki continue to be linked. The have a couple of collaborations, but the latter still seems to try and destroy him in any way possible.

What are your thoughts on Travis Scott tying Nicki Minaj for the highest chart debut for a reissued mixtape? Do you believe that La Flame was robbed of going number one yesterday, why or why not? Drake’s “Take Care” Further Solidifies Classic Status With Jaw-Dropping Milestone

Drake must have put something in his 2011 album Take Care because fans can still not get enough of it. The album will turn 13 on November 15 but it feels like it’s hardly aged and this new milestone proves that. According to a repost from djakademikstv, Chart Data has discovered that the sophomore record has now spent 600 weeks on the Billboard Hot 200 chart. This makes it just the ninth LP to do so, ironically tailing just behind Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city. Some fans made the effort to point that out in the comments section. “good kid mad city is higher on billboard right now”, one IG user replied.

However, there were a lot of hip-hop fans appreciating the greatness of Drake and Take Care. One floored person writes, “Do yall realize how crazy this is….. 12 YEARS on the charts bro, that is actually insane”. “Absolute classic!!🔥”, another simply states. There were also people reminiscing on why this project means so much to them. “This one right here can never leave #1 for me just the nostalgia alone… like the ending of “Look What You Done” still puts a tear in my eye today 😂🤷🏽‍♂️… it was just a different time”.

Times certainly are different now for Drizzy, as it seems the whole industry is essentially turning on him. The beef with Kendrick really has shifted things in terms of how people view him. However, just like Take Care, Drake can never truly be forgotten for good. He does have some things in the works post battle, and it will be interesting to see how he handles each step moving forward.

What are your thoughts on Drake’s Take Care spending 600 weeks on the Billboard Hot 200 chart? Is this his best project, why or why not? How often do you revisit the album and what songs do you bump the most? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. 21 Savage Earns Fourth Number One Album On Billboard 200 With “American Dream”

Do not look now, but 21 Savage might have one of the great modern rap discographies in recent memory. According to AllHipHop, his third solo studio effort american dream will land at number one on the Billboard Hot 200 chart. This marks his fourth project to achieve this feat. The tapes that also achieved this feat were his collaborations with Drake on Her Loss and SAVAGE MODE II with Metro Boomin. Additionally, 21’s evolution on i am > i was earned him a top placement. His release over the weekend certainly deserved that coveted spot atop the heap with incredible tracks throughout.

Songs like “all of me,” “redrum,” “née-nah” with Travis Scott, and “letter to my brudda” are just a few examples of Savage being in his bag. Stats show that 21 will move close to 150,000 units. Other hip-hop and adjacent records that cracked the top 10 include Kali Uchis’ ORQUÍDEAS and Kid Cudi’s INSANO. The Latin R&B songstress will be around the first five with nearly 63,000 and Mr. Rager hovering close to 45,000.

21, 21, 21 At Number One

Even though 21 Savage did not score number one tapes with Without Warning or the introductory Savage Mode, both are still viewed in high regard. A lot of people know how talented he is. However, the narrative lately is that he is getting repetitive. The opposite is quite true in some regard with american dream. While the approach remains familiar, Savage did bring some much improved writing over his recent features. Additionally, the sample flips and the inclusion of more personal tracks were a nice change. Overall, 21 Savage is seemingly winning a lot of people back, and for good reason.

What are your thoughts on 21 Savage going number one with his brand-new album american dream? Does he possess one of the best modern trap discographies, why or why not? Will he become one of the legends of Atlanta’s trap scene when his career is over? What songs are in your rotation from the project and why? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below.
