WATCH: Ray J Calls Out Jaguar Wright for Fabricating Stories Involving Him, JAY-Z, and Beyoncé

Ray J Jaguar Wright Reality Check News

Ray J Jaguar Wright Reality Check News

Ray J has had enough. Hitting his The Reality Check show, Ray J blasted Jaguar Wright after she made claims about him.

In case you missed it, Wright made claims about Whitney Houston’s relationship with Ray J, leading him to address her online. “When you are creating these stories and pushing narratives with no real basis, it’s clear that you’re doing some kind of attention-chasing or you’re doing this shit for clout. Or just for negative destruction, right?”

He continued, “Our culture needs more truth and integrity, not chaos and confusion. People were listening. You got our attention. Is what you’re saying true? Because this shit is outrageous. But I came to the conclusion that once I seen a story about me, and what you had to say about me and situations in my past, that is where I started to understand that you are totally fabricating stories and you are a complete liar. So that means that I have no respect for you and nothing you’re saying. So now I’ma go further. How dare you disrespect Jay-Z and Beyoncé? Jay-Z is an OG. Don’t ever disrespect Beyoncé.”

You can hear it all from Ray J below.

On “GOD DID” JAY-Z rapped:

I got lawyers like shooters
Workin’ pro bono for him as a favor ’cause I throw them Ms

And Piers Morgan just found that out the hard way. Jaguar Wright was brought on to Piers Morgan Uncensored, where she spread rumors about the alleged crimes of Hov and Beyoncé. Morgan received a note from The Carters’ lawyers. Morgan said:

“Jaguar, unexpectedly, made several serious allegations about Jay-Z and Beyoncé during that interview. As I said in the moment, they were not present to respond or defend themselves, but now they have. Their lawyers contacted us to say that those claims were ‘totally false’ and have no basis in fact, and we’ve therefore complied with a legal request to cut them from the original interview.
“Editing interviews is not something we do lightly at a show called Uncensored but like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theater, there are legal limits on us, too. And we apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
“The thing about platforms, the reality of the modern world is that pretty much everyone has a platform as long as they have something to say that other people want to hear. That’s why we invited [Wright] on to be interviewed. The people making these claims have an audience with or without shows like mine.”

And that portion of Jaguar Wright’s interview has been deleted.

JAY-Z and Beyoncé received an apology from Piers Morgan over comments made on his show by Jaguar Wright. The Carters’ attorney, Alex Spiro, who spoke with TMZ, gives a bit more context into what led to the apology.

“This was a pointed and formal accusation of something that I felt needed to be responded to,” Spiro said. “I think somebody reported it was a cease-and-desist, it wasn’t that. It was quite bluntly an ultimatum. Remove that false accusation or a court is going to order you to.

“I think he made the wise choice and acted accordingly.”

Piers Morgan is providing an update to the JAY-Z and Beyoncé story after he hosted Jaguar Wright on his show, Piers Morgan Uncensored. The singer-turned-viral personality levied allegations on The Carters’ name.

During her appearance, Wright said, “For four years, I’ve been screaming not just Diddy, but Diddy and Jay-Z are monsters.” She also alleged Jay and Bey have numerous victims of assault to their name.

After being contacted by The Carters’ legal team, who shut down the rumor, Morgan addressed the viral interview.

“The thing about platforms, the reality of the modern world is that pretty much everyone has a platform as long as they have something to say that other people want to hear,” Morgan said. “That’s why we invited her on to be interviewed. He closed with “We apologize to JAY-Z and Beyoncé.”

Piers Morgan Issued A Public Apology To Jay-Z And Beyoncé For ‘Several Serious Allegations’ Made By A Guest On His ‘Uncensored’ Show

Jay-Z and Beyoncé may not address all the rumors floating around online. But, some things the music power couple just aren’t willing to go unchecked. Today (October 8), Piers Morgan learned this lesson through their legal team.

After being connected by the Carters’ attorneys, Piers Morgan issued a public apology to the couple (viewable here courtesy of Pop Base). However, the apology isn’t in connection with anything Morgan said. But rather what singer Jaguar Wright alleged during her appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

On October 2, Jaguar Wright referred to Jay-Z are a “monster.” Then went on to allege that Jay-Z and Beyoncé were similar to Diddy, in the sense that they have “hundreds of victims with stories about what they’ve experienced.” At the time, Piers Morgan did not interject to pushback against the unfounded allegations.

Read Piers Morgan’s full statement below.

Well, last week, I interviewed Jaguar Wright, a singer-songwriter who’s made claims about Diddy for years. Those claims will receive a lot of attention in the media across many platforms for many years. And that’s the thing about platforms. The reality of the modern world is that pretty much everyone has a platform as long as they have something to say that other people want to hear. That’s why we invited her on to be interviewed. The people making these claims have an audience with or without shows like mine.

Well, Jaguar Wright unexpectedly made several serious allegations about Jay-Z and Beyoncé during that interview. As I said, in the moment, they were not present to respond or defend themselves. But now they have.

Their lawyers contacted us to say that those claims were totally false and have no basis in fact. And we’ve therefore complied with the legal request to cut them from the original interview. Editing interviews is not something we do lightly on a show called ‘Uncensored.’ But, like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theater, there are legal limits on us, too. And we apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

Piers Morgan Apologizes To JAY-Z And Beyonce After Controversial Interview

Piers Morgan recently courted controversy when be brought on Jaguar Wright to discuss the ongoing Diddy case. The musician not only leveled serious allegations at Diddy, but at JAY-Z as well. Wright has made a name for herself as a Hov critic, but Piers Morgan Uncensored was her biggest platform to date. She used it to call the Roc Nation co-founder a “monster” and align him with disreputable men. “Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, Robert Kelly, Sean Combs have one person in common professionally and privately,” Wright asserted. “Shawn Carter.” Unsurprisingly, JAY-Z and Beyonce took legal action.

Piers Morgan addressed his viewers on October 8 and clarified the situation. He confirmed that JAY-Z and Beyonce sent a cease and desist as a means of silencing Wright’s bold allegations. “Their lawyers contacted us to say that those claims were totally false, and have no basis in fact.” Morgan then stated that he had agreed to comply with their legal request to cut Wright’s allegations from the aired interview. “Editing interviews is not something we do lightly, at a show called Uncensored,” the journalist admitted. “But there are legal limits on us too.” Piers Morgan then took the opportunity to apologize to the power couple live.

JAY-Z And Beyonce Sent Morgan A Cease And Desist

“We apologize to JAY-Z and Beyonce,” he asserted. It makes complete sense why the couple would take legal action against Piers Morgan, but the Jaguar Wright’s interview has actually lots of notable reactions from people in the industry. Ray J took to social media to call out Wright’s decision to go on Piers Morgan Uncensored, rather than his show. “You wanna keep taking these other n**gas money,” the singer asked. “And not showing love to the community? That sh*t weak as f*ck.” Ray J also criticized Jaguar Wright for not communicating with him when he previously tried to book her.

Meek Mill is another artist who has a lot to say about the Jaguar Wright interview. Meek’s position is an admittedly fascinating one, since he has ties to both Diddy and JAY-Z. He was seemingly close friends with the former, and worked under the latter for a brief time at Roc Nation. He tweeted a couple things about Jaguar Wright, but it’s unclear what he meant by them. “F*ck is going on a silent war,” he wrote. He then followed it up by questioning why Wright got such an enormous platform to speak. “Why do these people have more of a voice than the thoroughbred people!”

After Speaking On Beyoncé And Country Music, Luke Bryan Responds To ‘Ridiculous’ ‘Clickbait Headlines’

On SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live recently, country star Luke Bryan spoke about Beyoncé, specifically about how she didn’t get any 2024 CMA Awards nominations for her album Cowboy Carter. Some people didn’t care for what he said, to the point that Bryan has come out with a follow-up statement.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) last night (October 6), Bryan wrote:

“Hey yall, I’m wrapping up the last night of my tour tonight and it’s been an amazing time. For that I am thankful.

I am posting tonight based on the ridiculous nature of the headlines I have read the last couple days from an interview on the Andy Cohen show I did this week when I was promoting my album. I feel in my heart I could not let media create a false narrative. As I read thru the comments of some of you I just want to say that I encourage all of you to listen to the interview instead of reading click bait headlines. You will hear my tone and intentions which were not negative. I respect Beyonce and I love how loyal her fans are. I spend a lot of time supporting other artists. I want everyone to win. Love yall.”

As for what Bryan actually said, he said in part, “Everybody loved that Beyoncé made a country album. Nobody’s mad about it, but where things get a little tricky — you know, if you’re gonna make country albums, come into our world and be country with us a little bit. Like, Beyoncé can do exactly what she wants to. She’s probably the biggest star in music. But come to an awards show and high-five us and have fun and get in the family, too. And I’m not saying she didn’t do that. I didn’t know. I had never seen [her]. But country music is a lot about family.”

Luke Bryan Speculates On Why Beyonce Isn’t Getting Her Respect In Country Music

Many Beyonce fans have a bone to pick with the country music community, specifically with the lack of prizes and nominations at events like People’s Choice Country Awards and the Country Music Awards this year. Moreover, they believe that she’s not getting the respect she deserves only because of her usual association to other genres, as well as claims of racism. After all, COWBOY CARTER has proven to be culturally, critically, and commercially successful. However, country artists have their own perspective. During an appearance on Andy Cohen’s podcast, star Luke Bryan theorized as to why this disconnect might exist, and what the Houston superstar could do to change that.

“It’s a tricky question because, obviously, Beyoncé made a country album and Beyoncé has a lot of fans out there that have her back,” Luke Bryan suggested. “And if she doesn’t get something they want, man, they come at you, as fans should do. I’m all for everybody coming in and making country albums and all that. […] A lot of great music is overlooked. Just because she made one … just ‘cause I make one, I don’t get any nominations.

Luke Bryan Speaks On Beyonce

“Everybody loved that Beyoncé made a country album. Nobody’s mad about it,” Luke Bryan continued. “But where things get a little tricky – if you’re gonna make country albums, come into our world and be country with us a little bit. Like, Beyoncé can do exactly what she wants to. She’s probably the biggest star in music. But come to an award show and high-five us and have fun and get in the family too. And I’m not saying she didn’t do that… But country music is a lot about family.”

Ironically enough, Luke Bryan will host the Country Music Awards this year, his fourth appearance as the ceremony’s guide. Of course, Beyonce could continue to make country music as she sees fit – and with whoever she wants – while showing off her love of Levi’s jeans. Yet the way that Bryan speaks on the matter could parallel how other communities feel about artists that are not like them engaging in their craft. There’s also a long and complicated history about the exploitation of Black genres and art forms that is too important for this sole article to cover. But it’s a worthy question to ask.

Luke Bryan Had An Unpopular Opinion About Beyoncé’s CMA Awards Shutout: ‘Come Into Our World And Be Country With Us’

Last month, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter earned zero nominations for the 2024 CMA Awards. The snub was suspicious (to put it lightly) because Cowboy Carter is undeniably a country album. Not to mention, the 27-song LP debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Billboard‘s Top Country Albums chart simultaneously.

The 2024 CMA Awards will go on without Beyoncé on November 20, and Luke Bryan will co-host alongside Lainey Wilson and Peyton Manning. Bryan commented on Beyoncé’s shutout while appearing on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live.

“It’s a tricky question because, obviously, Beyoncé made a country album, and Beyoncé has a lot of fans out there that have her back,” Bryan told Cohen. “If she doesn’t get something they want, man, they come at you — as fans should do.”

The American Idol judge continued, “It’s a tough thing to say — I don’t know how many albums did she sell? I know she had one song. So, I mean, listen, I’m all for everybody coming in and making country albums and all that. But just because she made one — just ’cause I make one, I don’t get any nominations. A lot of great music is overlooked. Sometimes, you don’t get nominated.”

Bryan saved the most controversial sentiment for last: “Everybody loved that Beyoncé made a country album.

Upon announcing Cowboy Carter in March, Beyoncé made it pretty clear that she had never felt welcome to “come to an awards show” or “get in the family,” in the words of Bryan. Beyoncé seemed to reference an unpleasant experience she had while performing “Daddy Lessons” with The Chicks at the 2016 CMA Awards.

“This album has been over five years in the making,” Beyoncé wrote, in part, in her caption of the Cowboy Carter album cover artwork. “It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history.”

Appropriately, people on X (formerly Twitter) have reacted to Bryan’s take by pointing out that Beyoncé is inherently country, given that she is from Texas and the genre was build on Black musicians’ backs.

As a relevant aside, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter “will compete for Best Country Album” at the 2025 Grammys.

“If Beyoncé — the most decorated artist in Grammy history — earns a best country album nod, it would be her first in the genre and she would become the rare artist who has scored nominations across multiple genres at the Grammys,” THR relayed.

Beyoncé Reveals Alternate Cover of 'Cowboy Carter' Album

Beyoncé’s latest album, Cowboy Carter, is set to compete for Best Country Album at the upcoming Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy’s screening committee decided last week, a significant moment for the 43-year-old icon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, this submission marks a new chapter in Beyoncé’s career, seven years after her 2016 track “Daddy Lessons” was rejected by the Academy’s country committee.

Cowboy Carter and its chart-topping single, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” received no nominations at last month’s CMA Awards and saw similar snubs at the People’s Choice Country Awards. Despite this, if Beyoncé receives a Best Country Album nod, it will be her first in the genre and add to her extensive record of Grammy nominations across multiple categories.

Beyoncé, the most decorated artist in Grammy history with 32 wins, has triumphed in R&B, rap, dance, and pop fields. Her potential competition in the Best Country Album category includes Post Malone, Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson, and Kacey Musgraves.
