Chris Rock Is Reportedly Livid With Will Smith & “Bad Boys 4” For Including A Slap Scene

Just a couple of years ago, Chris Rock got slapped by Will Smith at the Oscars. Overall, it stemmed from a joke that Smith made about Jada Pinkett Smith. At the time, this was one of the most viral outbursts of all time. The discourse around it was quite striking, however, Smith was able to get over it and continue his career in Hollywood. As for Rock, he has remained upset at Smith, and has consistently stated that he is still upset about what went down.

Recently, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence teamed up for Bad Boys 4 which has proven to be a massive box office hit. In the movie, there is one scene where Smith slaps someone extremely hard across the face. Of course, the scene is meant to be a reference to the now iconic slap. While moviegoers thought it was funny, it seems as though Rock completely disagrees. According to Hot97, a source close to Rock has spoken out against Smith.

“Chris thinks it’s a pretty cheap stunt and he’s telling people how lame he finds it,” the source explained. “It’s a classic case of Will making light of a horrific situation. Will’s playing the victim. It was the lowest point of his career, but that’s no excuse.”

Let us know what you think about all of this, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that Chris Rock has reason to still be mad at Will Smith for the slap incident? Rob Schneider Goes Off On Will Smith In Explicit Rant

Rob Schneider went after Will Smith in an explicit-ridden rant during an appearance on The Kyle & Jackie O Show. In doing so, he labeled the Oscar winner an “a**hole” who is a “liar” and “utter fraud” behind the scenes, despite his nice-guy reputation. “Will Smith has been hiding the fact of who he really is and it was exposed that night that he’s really an a**hole,” he said, referencing the Academy Awards ceremony during which he slapped host Chris Rock.

“It’s a deep, dark thing to do that in front of all those people and to a really great legendary comedian, who’s literally the best comedian of our generation,” Schneider said. “You wouldn’t have this whole wave of comedy that came after if it wasn’t for Chris Rock. He’s kicked open the doors.”

Smith received a 10-year ban from the Academy Awards for the incident, which Schneider says wasn’t harsh enough. “Will is a douchebag,” Schneider said. “The thing is that’s how politically correct the Academy is. That they were so cowardly because if I would have done that, they would have been hauled off to prison.” He further theorized the organization was “so worried about being racist or whatever.” He added: “The point is, violence is what it is. And whether the color of your skin or your religion, it doesn’t matter if you commit a crime in front of other people, you get hauled out of there.” Check out the full comments below.

Rob Schneider Calls Out Will Smith

Schnieder isn’t the only celebrity to criticize Smith for the slap amid the release of Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Stephen A. Smith also recently demanded an explanation for the incident, arguing that “figuratively, the Black community was slapped.” After facing backlash for those remarks, he walked back the criticism. Stephen A. Smith Thinks Will Smith Owes Black People a Conversation Over the Oscars Slap

Stephen A. Smith is still hanging on to the Oscars slap. Appearing on his podcast ahead of the launch of Bad Boys: Ride or Die, he asked, “Are we embracing Will Smith again?”

Stephen A. wants Will to have a discussion with the Black community about his decision to slap Chris Rock.

“You got to have a conversation as to why you did that,” Stephen A. Smith said. “It’s primarily us as Black people who have loved and supported you and watched you go on an international stage and slap one of us in the face.”

Do you agree with Stephen A.’s sentiment? You can hear it from him below.

Despite Stephen A.’s opinion, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have once again captivated audiences with their latest film, Bad Boys 4: Ride or Die.

Martin Lawrence Insists He Never Suffered A Stroke

Martin Lawrence says he never suffered a stroke and the rumors suggesting as such are completely unfounded. He discussed his health during an interview with Sway In The Morning, last Friday, to promote his new film with Will Smith, Bad Boys: Ride or Die. The rumors have been running rampant throughout the press tour.

“There’s a rumor out there that I had a stroke. Man, and that’s totally not true,” he insisted on the show. “So, I just wanna clear that up. But I thank everybody for the concern and the love, and just thank you. But Marty’s all good.” From there, Smith joined in to joke: “There’s also a rumor, and I wasn’t gonna bring it up, that you’re a clone. That was the one that I heard. That you’ve been cloned.” In the comments section, fans defended the legendary actor. “Martin said he’s alright then let him be! He looks great, he’s older now, no one is going to look exactly the same. It’s called life! Let that man live. You speak life into your words…” one fan wrote. Another countered: “I know Martin is saying he’s good but I feel like bro is moving in slow motion for some reason.”

Speaking with Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning, last week, he explained that he’s in “God’s hands.” “I’m fine, I’m in God’s hands,” Lawrence said at the time. “I’m blessed. You know, I’m glad to be waking up every day. I’m all good. No need for people to be concerned.”

BIA Shines Over The City In Her Pulsating ‘Lights Out’ Video With JID

BIA clearly has a pretty good rapport with the Dreamville Records team. Back in 2022, she and J. Cole teamed up on her song “London,” with both rappers coming out of the collab with complimentary comments about each other. Now, she’s linked up with Atlanta-bred Dreamville standout JID fo the pulsating, inspirational track “Lights Out.”

The overall vibe of the track is very 2007, with an anthemic beat/chorus structure that finds BIA extolling her perseverance. “When the light’s out / Still can see me shining, I’m a lighthouse,” she croons. Meanwhile, in her verse, she cites her prior collab with Jermaine, boasting, “First rap bitch you know that went back and forth with Cole.” On the second verse, JID comes in hot — as usual — opening with a callback to an ATL classic from T.I. and quickly launches into his signature tongue-twister flow.

The song appears on the Bad Boys: Ride Or Die soundtrack (one of two from BIA) alongside tracks from 21 Lil Harold, Becky G, Black Eyed Peas, Flo Milli, ScarLip, Sean Paul, and of course, Will Smith. The soundtrack is out now via Epic Records, and Bad Boys: Ride Or Die is out now in theaters.

Martin Lawrence Gets Supportive Messages From Concerned Fans While Promoting “Bad Boys 4”

Fans have been expressing their concern for Martin Lawrence on social media after the actor sat down with Will Smith to discuss Bad Boys: Ride or Die with ExtraTV, last week. They noted he seemed a bit quieter and slower during the interview. It came after his close friend, Sean Lampkin, passed away back in March.

“Martin seems a little slow and off! Like he’s had some kind of medical issue,” one user in the comments section of the video wrote. As caught by The Neighborhood Talk, another added: “Love them both…Martin been through a lot and now hes grieving death of his brother and you can tell Wil got his back…Love both these legends…May GOD bless them both and keep them close.”

One more user wrote: “Martin looks good to almost be 60. He is talking slightly slower but I think that’s only because we’re so used to him being so energetic back in the days and because we watch the reruns of Martin all the time when it comes on. It just sucks to see our favorite comedians get old. I don’t think its the heat stroke from 1999 that really affected him because he was sharp as a tack on his ‘RunTelDat’ special in 2002.”

‘Bad Boys 4’ Set Photo Reveals Will Smith’s Character Mike Lowrey Is Possibly Getting Married?

'BadBoysForLife'Projectedfor$MillionOpeningBoxOfficeWeekend

Here’s a movie to be excited about … Bad Boys 4 is currently in production, and someone leaked a set photo on the Twitterverse, now officially called “X.”

Even People reported the leak on their official X account, but it’s out there, and Will Smith is apparently on set and in character with This is Us star Melanie Liburd in what appears to be a wedding scene. So check this: Liburd was announced as a part of the cast to play a new character named Christine.

There’s no official word about who Christine is in the story, but it’s clear she’s some love interest if we’re to believe our eyes, but who knows? Some misdirection could be at play here, but that’s just speculation. But something has been going on since Smith’s Det. Mike Lowrey’s character and Liburd’s Christine are kissing during this scene. So maybe Smith’s character, who’s historically been a lady’s man, is possibly hopping over the broom, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Bad Boys 4 is aiming for a June 14 release, so it’s safe to say production may be winding down and likely heading into post-production.

What’s cool is Bad Boys 4 is being directed by the creative team Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Also, in the report from People, the fourth installment will also star Vanessa Hudgens, Eric Dane, and Alexander Ludwig. Let’s not forget Martin Lawrence will co-star alongside Smith, playing Det. Marcus Burnett. But Tasha Smith is replacing Theresa Randle as Marcus’ wife, Theresa. Interesting but that happens.

Wedding or not, we’re excited for Bad Boys 4, and it’s great to see Will Smith back starring in a big franchise again.
