At Long Last, Doja Cat Has Finally Given Fans A Taste Of Her New Music In A Teaser Clip

Doja Cat fans are thirsty for new music, which is arriving soon. Today (June 14), she finally gave fans a taste of what to expect from her impending new era.

Her new single, “Attention,” drops this Friday, and is believed to be the lead single from her upcoming fourth album. In a clip shared on social media, Doja is seen arriving to a red carpet, which is filled with fans and photographers. She is seen sporting a shorter hairdo, which she began rocking last summer, and it looks like she will maintain this aesthetic over the course of the album cycle.

Though a snippet of new music can be heard for only a few seconds, it sounds like Doja may be taking on a more rock-influenced sound. Over rattling percussion, Doja raps “Look at me, look at me / You lookin’?”

Doja has been teasing the follow-up to Planet Her for the past few months now, but it’s not clear what the sound will consist of. She’s previously suggested that her fourth album will have a punk sound, as well as a pure rap sound, and even an EDM sound, so it could go in any direction at this point.

Doja Cat Reportedly Dropping New Single This Week, Per Leaked Pre-Save Link

Doja Cat season appears to be upon us. Despite the frequent title changes of her album, it appears that she could be readying for the release of a new single. Unfortunately, fans were only informed of the potential release of a single titled “Attention” this Friday, thanks to a leaked pre-save announcement, per Uproxx. A leaked marketing campaign release urged fans to pre-save the upcoming single on Spotify or Apple Music before the song went live this week.

Needless to say, fans were ecstatic about the announcement, and the news spread across the Internet quickly. Evidently, someone at Sony Music caught onto the flub and immediately removed the announcement from their website. Now when you head over to the link, it reads, “We’re sorry, but this page no longer exists.” At this point, Doja Cat still hasn’t formally announced the single. However, it doesn’t seem like the leak will have an impact on its release.

Doja Cat Appears To Be Readying New Music

The recent pre-save leak isn’t the only indication that Doja Cat has new music coming soon. In the past few days, fans noticed that Doja Cat began a countdown on her Twitter page. Beginning with “6” on Sunday night, she tweeted “5” yesterday and “4” this morning. The cryptic countdown strongly suggests that on Friday, June 16th, the new single “Attention” will be arriving in its entirety. Hopefully, the release of the upcoming single will also kick off the campaign for her upcoming album.

At this point, Doja Cat’s next album is shaping up to be one of her best yet and she’s certainly built up the anticipation. She previously teased a portion of the album on her Instagram Live. However, she also indicated that her last two albums weren’t necessarily an accurate representation of her creativity. “planet her and hot pink were cash-grabs and yall fell for it. now i can go disappear somewhere and touch grass with my loved ones on an island while yall weep for mediocre pop,” she tweeted. With that said, perhaps we should expect a far more experimental effort with her next project.

Doja Cat’s New Single ‘Attention’ Is Supposedly Slated To Drop This Week, According To A Leaked Pre-Save Announcement

First, SZA’s unreleased “Calling My Phone” verse was leaked to social media. Then, a provocative scrapped guest verse from Lil Durk was posted online. Now Doja Cat has also been impacted by a music leak.

As the “Vegas” musician works out the final touches on her forthcoming album, fans were excited at news that her new single, titled “Attention,” would be uploaded to streaming platforms on Friday. In the marketing campaign, listeners were urged to pre-save the track on either Spotify or Apple Music to be notified when the song went live.

However, that announcement was accidentally released prematurely. Shortly after the link went live, the webpage began to gain traction. The link was quickly deactivated. When the URL is entered into any internet browser, an error message appears on the screen: “We’re sorry, but this page no longer exists.”

Doja Cat has shared numerous updates regarding the upcoming album’s direction, including the title, the sound, the tracklist, and more. But over time, she has walked back a lot of her public comments. At one point, the project was tentatively titled Hellmouth. Doja Cat herself has even leaked parts of the album via snippets of different tracks during a live stream.

Candace Owens Says JoJo Siwa Is “Lying” About Sexuality, Teen Tells Commentator To “Back The F*ck Off”

If there’s one thing you can always count on Candace Owens to do, it’s stir the pot. Her most recent bout of antics arrived on Twitter earlier this week when the right-wing political commentator opted to turn her attention to JoJo Siwa’s TikTok page. In a five-minute video, the grown woman dissects the teenager’s social media posts, going so far as to accuse her of faking her sexuality. As you may recall, the Dance Moms alum came out as part of the LGBTQ community in January 2021. “I don’t believe JoJo Siwa is a lesbian,” Owens declared in her post from April 4.

“But the way, I want to state that very clearly, I do believe she’s desperate for attention,” the 33-year-old said of Siwa. “You’re not going to believe what she’s doing now,” Owens added before speculating about a romance between the internet sensation and former Disney Channel star, Demi Lovato. In the same year that JoJo came out, the Camp Rock actress also informed the world that she’s pansexual. “She did this for attention,” the talk show host doubled down on the relationship rumours. “I don’t believe she’s a lesbian no more than I believe Demi Lovato is a lesbian.”

JoJo Siwa Claps Back at Candace’s Comments

In the caption of her tweet, Owens once again pondered, “Is JoJo Siwa lying about being lesbian for attention?” While some of the internet is in agreeance with the mother of two, many others are slamming her for concerning herself with the love life of a 19-year-old when she has a family of her own. As the post continued to circulate online, Siwa eventually got word of it and didn’t hesitate to give her new nemesis the attention she was looking for.

“I haven’t watched the video yet… But if it has anything to do with your caption, respectfully, back the f*ck off,” she told the controversial figure. Candace Owens doesn’t appear to have responded to JoJo Siwa at this point, though she has posted other videos about heated conservative topics such as drag queens and the transgender community. Let us know if you think her comments on the teenager are out of line below, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.

Omah Lay And Justin Bieber Dance Around A Fire In The Video For Their Rhythmic Collab ‘Attention’

Justin Bieber has found himself working more with afrobeats artists in recent years, like when he jumped on WizKid’s “Essence” remix and recruited Alpha P and Omah Lay for “Peaches (Masterkraft Remix),” both in 2021. Now, Bieber and Lay have reunited, as Bieber features on a new tune from the Nigerian artist, “Attention,” which also arrives alongside a video.

Lay told Billboard of the song:

“‘Attention’ is one of those songs where I’m just saying the truth, where I’m telling my story. It’s basically about sometime in everybody’s life, you’re lonely. You can’t just always have somebody all the time. Especially as an adult. That was actually the headspace that I was in when I made this song, a little lonely. I want the people that are going through the same thing to feel like I was talking to them. I’m human. I’m just like them. I feel exactly the same way they feel.”

Lay also explained how the track came together, saying of the fateful Los Angeles recording session, “I was in the studio one day with Harv [a frequent Bieber collaborator]. As soon as I heard the beat, the lyrics were already in my head. We didn’t even spend 30 minutes making the song. Harv called him and I FaceTimed Justin Bieber for the first time in my life. Later on, Harv got to play the song for him, and […] before I knew it, he sent in his verse and the song was good just like that.”

Lay also noted, “One thing I loved about working with Justin Bieber was how easy it was. I didn’t even expect it to be that simple.”
