The Atlanta Hawks overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat the New York Knicks 108-100 at Madison Square Garden, earning a spot in the NBA Cup semifinals against the Milwaukee Bucks. Trae Young led Atlanta’s charge with 22 points and 11 assists, marking his league-leading 18th double-double of the season.
But all day you will see Young’s celebration on the New York Knicks logo.
Atlanta’s win was a complete team effort, with four players notching double-doubles: De’Andre Hunter scored a game-high 24 points, Jalen Johnson contributed 21 points and 15 rebounds, Onyeka Okongwu added 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Clint Capela chipped in 11 points and 13 boards.
The Hawks’ comeback was fueled by a dominant third quarter in which they outscored New York 34-18, including a decisive 29-10 run to close the period. Young exploded for 12 points and five assists in the quarter, directly contributing to 23 of Atlanta’s 34 points.
“We knew what the stakes were coming into this game,” Young said postgame. “We needed everybody to step up, and everybody did. That’s why we got this win.”
Atlanta’s defense stifled the Knicks in the second half, holding them to just 46 points — the second-fewest by New York in a half this season. While Karl-Anthony Towns extended his double-double streak to 14 games with 19 points and 19 rebounds, Atlanta’s depth proved decisive. The Hawks’ bench outscored New York’s 43-14, continuing their recent trend of dominance.
The Hawks now boast a 7-1 record in their last eight games as they head to the semifinals.
Trae Young, the Atlanta Hawks’ three-time NBA All-Star, has officially joined the Jordan Brand family. In his seventh season, Young makes the highly anticipated transition after parting ways with adidas earlier this year. This move solidifies his status as one of the league’s premier athletes and brings fresh excitement to the Jordan Brand roster. Speculation about Young’s next sneaker deal began when he was spotted sporting a mix of brands during preseason workouts. His rotations included his former adidas signature models, the Air Jordan 39, and even ANTA sneakers.
However, in recent weeks, he has exclusively laced up in the Air Jordan 39 during games, signaling a clear shift toward the Jumpman. Off the court, Young has also embraced Jordan Brand apparel, including a standout moment featuring the Air Jordan 11 “Legend Blue.” Jordan Brand’s announcement marks a significant addition to its roster, which already includes stars like Luka Dončić, Jayson Tatum, and Zion Williamson. While there’s no confirmation yet of a Trae Young signature sneaker under the brand, the possibility of such a release has already sparked excitement among fans. Known for his electrifying playstyle and cultural impact, Young is poised to bring a unique energy to the Jordan Brand lineup.
Young shared his enthusiasm about joining the iconic brand, calling it a “full circle moment.” Reflecting on his childhood, he recalled feeling invincible every time he laced up a pair of Jordans, saying, “As a kid, I always puffed out my chest a bit more when I had my Jordans on.” Now, as an official member of the Jordan family, he described the opportunity as both an honor and a dream come true.
This partnership not only boosts Jordan Brand’s presence in the NBA but also reinforces Young’s influence in both basketball and sneaker culture. Fans will be watching closely to see what comes next in this exciting new chapter for Trae Young and Jordan Brand.
Bronny James has been cleared to be drafted by an NBA franchise. Just one day after the NBA Draft Lottery, the NBA’s Fitness to Play Panel gave James the green light.
Bronny will begin to take part in 5-on-5 scrimmages beginning on Tuesday in Chicago.
Bronny has entered the draft class after a lackluster run at USC and a stint on the sidelines with heart issues at the start of the season. He can withdraw from the draft until May 29.
His college career currently stands with 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists. Bronny is currently not projected high in the draft, seemingly being a second round candidate.
“I don’t value a young player getting into the lottery as much as I do getting him on the right team in the right developmental situation,” Rich Paul said to ESPN.
In a stunning reveal, the Atlanta Hawks clinched the coveted No. 1 pick in the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft.
Despite having a 3% chance of securing the top spot, the Hawks emerged victorious in Sunday’s draft lottery, presented by State Farm. This unexpected turn of events places Atlanta in a prime position to select a highly touted prospect and potentially reshape the future of their franchise.
With the No. 1 pick now in their hands, the Hawks have a golden opportunity to add a game-changing talent to their roster, which already had rumors of moving on from guards Trae Young and DeJounte Murray.

NBA teams like to keep fans entertained during halftime. While most folks use the break in the game as a chance to go to the bathroom or get something from the concessions stand, teams will put some form of entertainment out there. Sometimes, it’s an act that goes from stadium to stadium and does the same thing — plenty of fans love Red Panda, while I’m personally a big fan of that dude who has people play Simon Says.
Every now and then, teams will put on a mini-concert, which the Atlanta Hawks decided to do on Thursday night during their game against the Boston Celtics. The team called up Atlanta native CeeLo Green, who performed his smash hit single from 2010, “F*ck You.” The catch: CeeLo didn’t censor himself, so instead of performing the more radio-friendly version of the song (“Forget You”), he really let loose.
The Hawks did seem to enjoy it, as they shouted out CeeLo on Twitter after his performance.
As for the game, this is a rematch of a game we saw earlier this week. Despite trailing by as many as 30 points in that one, Atlanta stunned the best team in the Eastern Conference, 120-118. As for how things were going on Thursday night before the half, the Hawks were once again competitive despite the Celtics taking a 63-59 lead into the locker room.
Boosie Badazz has been going on a bit of a tear in the run-up to Christmas. While attending a Hawks game, Boosie started roasting a fellow fan who was taking part in a timeout activity. The man was dressed short shorts, which Boosie found very amusing. “He got Larry Bird shorts! John Stockton shorts! Look at this boy! We got f-cking Larry Bird out here!” Boosie yelled at the man from his perch courtside. However, the man either chose to ignore the rapper or simply didn’t hear him.
Later, Boosie was out on the town, giving out $100 bills to “junkies” at the corner store. However, Boosie got into it with one man, who he felt was trying to “play” him. Boosie claimed that the man was wearing a “f-cking chain” that Boosie felt was too expensive for the man to really be in need of his money.
State Farm Arena has been a frequent site of Boosie’s outbursts in recent weeks. Back in November, Boosie vented his frustration about the high number of technical fouls being called in the NBA this season. “THE NBA NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE TECHINACAL FOULS FOR DUNKING N STARING AFTER THE DUNK SMH YALL TAKING AWAY FROM THE GAME N THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE ATHLETES. ITS OUT OF CONTROL AT THIS POINT. PLAYERS N FANS DESERVE BETTER,” the rapper tweeted.
The post came just a few days after Boosie became heated at the refs during a Hawks game he was in attendance for. Boosie filmed himself yelling at the refs from the stands and later went live to further vent his frustrations. “I gotta make this announcement. We got cheated by the referees tonight. I’m so disappointed by the refs tonight. Only person that called a good game was the tall guy with the bald head … Referees called a bad game.” Boosie lamented. The game in question was a 117-109 Atlanta loss to Miami.
Rubi Rose recently stepped out for a Hawks game in Atlanta, unveiling a new series of photos from the excursion. In her carousel, Rubi’s seen rocking a pair of denim shorts, a cozy hoodie, and eye-catching cowboy boots. She had fun with the flirty photoshoot, blowing some kisses and turning around to flaunt her figure. “I just want a n***a i can ball with,” she captioned her post.
Rubi appeared to be in good spirits at the game, waving to fans on the jumbotron. Luckily for the Hawks, it looks like the performer acted as a good luck charm, as they took home their third win in a row. They beat the Washington Wizards 130-121. While it’s unclear whether or not Rubi recruited any suitors to “ball with,” the Kentucky native has certainly been up to some balling of her own lately.
Last night, Rubi Rose announced that she’ll be joining Sexyy Red for upcoming dates on her Hood Hottest Princess tour. She unveiled a poster featuring the two of them, telling her followers “mommy back on tour.” The duo will make their way around the U.S., stopping in notable cities like Orlando, Houston, LA, and more. While it’s undebatable that Rubi continues to work her way to the top, one of her recent Tweets did spark some discussion.
The “I Like” performer took to the platform to reveal a list of her favorite artists of today. “Top 5 alive- Drake, The Weeknd, Future, Slime, Frank Ocean,” she wrote. As expected, countless fans weighed in with their own opinions. While some thought her choices were pretty solid, others were sure to chime in with who they believe should have made the cut. What do you think of Rubi Rose’s photos from the Atlanta Hawks game? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more news.
The world of basketball has seen many prodigies, but few have made as significant an impact in such a short time as Trae Young. As of 2023, Trae Young’s net worth is estimated to be around $50 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. But how did this NBA star amass such wealth in just a few years? Let’s dive in.
Born on September 19, 1998, in Lubbock, Texas, Rayford Trae Young grew up in Norman, Oklahoma. He began playing basketball in his sophomore year at Norman North High School. By his senior year, he was averaging an impressive 42.6 points per game and was named Oklahoma’s Player of the Year by multiple sources. His prowess on the court led him to the University of Oklahoma, where he continued to shine. Notably, he tied the NCAA Division 1 single-game assist record with 22 assists. Moreover, he became the only player to lead the NCAA in both points and assists in a single season. Such achievements drew comparisons to NBA greats like Stephen Curry.
Trae Young’s NBA journey began when he was drafted with the fifth overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft. Initially selected by the Dallas Mavericks, he was soon traded to the Atlanta Hawks. In his debut season, he showcased his skills by scoring 35 points and 11 assists in a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Throughout his NBA career, Young has had numerous standout performances. For instance, in February 2020, he scored a career-high 50 points in a win against the Miami Heat. Despite his individual brilliance, the Atlanta Hawks struggled to make the playoffs in his early years.
Trae Young’s financial success is not just a result of his on-court performances. Over his first four NBA seasons, he earned a total of $26.5 million in salary. However, a significant boost to his net worth came in August 2021 when he signed a $207 million 5-year supermax contract with the Atlanta Hawks. This contract, which has a base level of $172 million, can escalate to $207 million if Trae achieves certain performance milestones, such as making one of the three All-NBA teams.
Apart from his earnings from basketball, Trae Young has also invested in real estate. In 2019, he purchased a home in Norman, Oklahoma, for $1.5 million. This property boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, and an outdoor pool.
More recently, in December 2022, Young acquired a massive mansion in Calabasas, California, for $20 million. This mansion, previously owned by NFL star Clay Matthews, includes luxurious amenities like a sports court, chef’s kitchen, 800-gallon saltwater aquarium, and a subterranean 15-seat theater, among others.
Trae Young’s journey from a high school basketball player in Oklahoma to one of the NBA’s brightest stars is truly inspiring. His dedication, skill, and strategic financial decisions have contributed to his impressive net worth of $50 million in 2023. As he continues to play and make business moves off the court, there’s no doubt that this figure will only grow in the coming years.
The question of where Bronny James will land in the 2024 NBA Draft is one that has quickly dominated basketball circles in recent days. Bronny, LeBron’s eldest son, is about to start his freshman year at USC. Many expect him to follow the one-and-done path into the NBA.
For the time being, mock drafts have him hovering around the tail-end of the lottery. SB Nation has him going at #12. Meanwhile, ESPN, whose mock draft includes specific teams, had him going at #17 to the Hawks. It was this landing spot that caught the eye of LeBron himself.
LeBron shared ESPN‘s image to his Instagram story, adding the caption “Welllll ATL shawty the #JamesGang will be pulling up!” Safe to say that James wasn’t opposed to his son heading to Atlanta. The Hawks picking at #17 is based on ESPN‘s internal predictions for the draft order.
However, could that force a trade between the Hawks and Lakers? LeBron has been very clear that he would like to play with Bronny before he retires from the NBA. Furthermore, the Lakers may not have a first-round pick in 2024, as the Pelicans currently hold the option to take the Lakers 2024 or 2025 first-rounder.
LeBron currently has two years remaining on his contract. However, that does include a player option year for 2024-25. As Bronny is likely to land somewhere other than the Lakers come the draft, could we see LeBron push for an opt-in and trade deal?
In other father-son news amongst the James family, Bronny will be honoring his father at USC. On June 22, USC announced that Bronny would wear #6 while playing for the school. While Bronny has long worn the number, it has also been a tribute to his father.
LeBron most famously wore #6 during his time in Miami, forgoing the #23 he had worn during the start of his career in Cleveland. Per LeBron, the #6 has also held special meaning to him, as it links in some way to the birthdays of both Bronny and Bryce. Furthermore, LeBron wore #6 for the Lakers during the 2022-23 season.
However, if Bronny is drafted, he will have to find a new number. Perhaps the most famous player other than LeBron to wear #6 was the legendary Bill Russell. when Russell passed away in 2022, the league made the decision to issue a league-wide retirement for the number.
The NBA off-season wasted little time in starting things off with a bang. The Phoenix Suns made a monster move to acquire Bradley Beal from the Washington Wizards. The deal also sent future Hall of Famer Chris Paul to Washington, where he was then shipped to Golden State. The move has been a much talked about decision. The move has many believing the Suns are now the top team in the Western Conference. On Monday, another massive trade was announced.
Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins has been traded to the Utah Jazz for Rudy Gay. According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Hawks have been looking to unload the three-year $78 million-dollar contract held by Collins. It looks as though the team has found the right suitor with the Jazz. The Hawks move is to bring flexibility to how they can structure the roster around their young superstar Trae Young. Collins has been discussed as a potential member of a trade from Atlanta since the last off-season. However, it now seems that Collins has found a new home.
Collins has spent the first six seasons of his NBA career in Atlanta. At one time, it seemed that the Hawks would be building their franchise around the young duo of Collins and Young. However, now Collins will be looking for a fresh start with another young team in Utah. The Jazz is in the middle of a massive rebuild after shipping stars Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert off before the start of last season. Collins could be a perfect addition to what ownership is trying to build in Utah.
In his short 6 years in the league, Collins has averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds per game. Atlanta made the postseason this past year. However, the team fell in the first round to the Boston Celtics. Undoubtedly the move will free up cap space for the Hawks to create a deeper rotation. Do you believe the Hawks made the right move in dealing John Collins? What other moves should the team think about when sculpting their roster for next season? Let us know in the comment section.
