Metro Atlanta presented 21 Savage with four proclamations and two community action awards at his Leading By Example organization’s 6th annual Holiday Toy Drive on Saturday (Dec. 21). The awards recognize his social impact and tireless dedication to giving back in DeKalb County. Held at the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center in Panthersville, the event offered an outpouring of generosity, providing thousands of gifts to local families.

More than 3,000 toys, clothes, bicycles, and meals were distributed to over 1,000 families and children, according to a foundation spokesperson. The event underscored 21 Savage’s commitment to uplifting his community, a hallmark of his philanthropic efforts over the years. To mark the day’s significance were U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson and his wife, DeKalb County Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson, and long-time supporters. 21 Savage thanked all for the honors and promised to continue to help provide for the county. DeKalb County declared December 21, “21 Savage Leading By Example Day.”

21 Savage Has Hip-Hop Fans Up In Arms Over His Ranking Of The Top 5 Atlanta Lyricists

21 Savage was the special guest for the season one finale of DeepCut with VicBlends, the YouTube series where celebrities join Vic for a fresh cut and a deep conversation. Of course, he expanded on a lot of different topics concerning his career, goals, personal life, and overall outlook on his fame, position, and personhood. But the sit-down also contained some hot takes and classic rap debates. For one, the “née-nah” MC was asked to rank the following Atlanta artists as lyricists: Future, Lil Baby, JID, Young Thug, and himself. While his take isn’t necessarily surprising, it certainly caused a lot of ruckus among online hip-hop fans who have had these musty discussions since LL COOL J called himself the greatest of all time.

“One through five?” 21 Savage asked VicBlends. “I’m number one. Based off of lyrics? Okay, yeah, I’m number one. Lyrics, JID, number two. Thug, number three. Baby, number four. Pluto, number five. Just off of lyrics. Now, if it’s off song-making, Pluto would be number one. But just off of lyrics, yeah, I’m number one off lyrics.” Many fans found this ironic given that “Surround Sound,” a collab between him and his number two pick JID, is a track that many would give to the Dreamville spitter as far as lyrics.

21 Savage’s Divisive Atlanta Lyricists Ranking

Still, we can’t deny that as a rapper and writer, 21 Savage’s dry, blunt, often cold, and instantly recognizable approach to the mic is pretty singular in today’s hip-hop landscape. As such, anyone putting him high up on a lyricism list will face some pushback, but for them to face outright rejection would be a gross overreaction. Also, according to Metro Boomin, he’s a frustratingly picky collaborator when it comes to beats, so he knows how to make the most out of his pen and voice’s approach.

Elsewhere, though, 21 Savage is just enjoying his wind-down for 2024 after an explosive start to the year with his latest album american dream. He hasn’t had to handle much hassle in the public eye as of late, apart from some relationship rumors with Saweetie that she swiftly handled. We’ll see how 2025 shapes up for 21 and if he’ll contribute more reasons as to why he’s one of Atlanta’s best lyricists.

Young Thug’s Request To Modify Probation Terms Partially Granted

Back in October, Young Thug accepted a plea deal and was finally released from prison after a long and chaotic trial. He was handed 15 years of probation at the time, as well as various other release conditions. Yesterday (December 10), the rapper filed a motion requesting an amendment to his probation terms. In it, his legal team pointed out that a lot of his family members live in Atlanta, where he’d been banned for ten years.

“Mr. Williams has family in the metro Atlanta area, specifically in the Atlanta, Georgia area,” the motion explained. “Respectfully requests the ability to reside/visit at times, in his home located in the city in the attached, under seal, document.” The motion continued, describing Young Thug’s desire to spend time with loved ones in the area during the holidays. “[Mr. Williams wants to] have family gatherings. For holidays and other lawful reasons with his family, friends, and business associates,” it states. “Which is a home already owned by Mr. Williams.”

Young Thug Can Visit Atlanta After Three Successful Years Of Probation

Luckily for Young Thug, the request has now been partially granted. According to new legal documents shared by @ThuggerDaily on X, he’ll be allowed to spend up to eight weeks a year at his home in the Metro Atlanta area once he successfully completes three years of probation. His stays can be up to two weeks at a time and must be non-consecutive.

This latest update comes just a few days after Young Thug broke his silence on his release conditions with a phone call while his attorney Keith Adams was in the middle of an interview with Tiffany Phoenix Adams, who goes by TheFitLawyerATL on social media. At the time, he jokingly asked both of them for help to “get [him] off the probation.” In response, his attorney encouraged him to “Hold off on the attorney-client conversations” while they were live streaming.

Quavo Takes Teddy Swims To Magic City As Their New Song, “Georgia Ways,” Gets Mixed Reviews

Quavo shows Country superstar Teddy Swims a good time in Atlanta, supporting their new collaboration, “Georgia Ways.” The duo ventured to the iconic strip club, Magic City, to promote the new song and captured the country singer enjoying some peaches. A video of Huncho and Swims centered around strippers, making it rain ones, went viral on Saturday. As the duo enjoyed themselves, fans shared their mixed reactions to the new collaboration across social media.

An X user described the collaboration as “Quavo’s fall off.” They tweeted, “The fall off of Quavo hurts my heart. That dude been a$$ for a minute.” Another user claimed that Huncho’s first country track was the result of allegedly losing a rap battle to Chris Brown. The user tweeted: “Dude lost a rap beef with an R&B singer and turned into Tim McGraw. I can’t believe dude said you was the best in the group.” TM88, a known Migos producer, would come to Huncho’s defense, tweeting, “Hating on Quavo for being a musician is wild.”

Quavo & Teddy Swims Make It Rain At Magic City Supporting “Georgia Ways”

Released on Friday (Dec. 6), Quavo surprised fans with an unexpected country collaboration. The trio merges distinct musical styles into a defiant, genre-blending tribute to the Peach State. The accompanying visuals, filmed with a playful tone, amplify the energy of this unique collaboration. It’s another milestone for Quavo, who has been on a creative hot streak with high-profile pairings. “Georgia Ways” follows recent Huncho collaborations with Lana Del Rey, The Kid Laori, and Lenny Kravitz.

The brilliance of Georgia Ways lies in its ability to honor the diversity of Georgia’s musical legacy. It weaves together Atlanta’s iconic trap beats, the rich storytelling of country music, and the soulful undertones of R&B. The track feels both celebratory and experimental, showcasing how seemingly disparate genres can coexist when united by a shared cultural identity. Rich with Georgia-centric references, the track speaks directly to the locals while offering broader appeal through its universal themes of pride and resilience. In other news, Quavo recently previewed a new Takeoff track as a guest on Kai Cenat’s record-breaking livestream.

Young Thug’s Dad Slams Atlanta Artists Who Didn’t Support His Son, Fans Point At TI

Young Thug’s father, Jeffery Williams Sr., has called out other Atlanta rappers who didn’t voice their support for his son during his recent stretch in jail. Speaking on the Nothing But the Truth Podcast, last week, Williams Sr. complained about one artist in particular who refused to perform at an event in support of YSL.

“We got all these rappers and everybody trying to find Young Thug,” Williams Sr. said, as caught by XXL. “They wanna talk to Young Thug, they wanna this, that and the other. Where your a*s been for 29 months? Why y’all a*s ain’t been out there protesting for his constitutional rights being violated? Y’all are the ones considered to be the influencers. Ain’t influencing sh*t.”

“Now, you want to talk to him,” he added. “You want to goddamn put out these monkey-a*s videos. All this, for your personal gain. It’s just for your personal gain. Your personal hype. Trying to make yourself relevant…Where have y’all been? Where have y’all Atlanta artists been up until now?” Williams’ next comments have been sparking theories that he may have been particularly upset with T.I., although he didn’t name anyone specifically. “I asked him to do an event on behalf of YSL. And I was told, ‘Let me get with my people and see if I can do that,’” he said. “But yet and still, I see you right there beside Young Thug. That’s when he needed the help. So, you know, we gotta stop with the fake.”

Jeffery Williams Sr. Speaks Out

Shortly after his release from jail, Thug linked up with T.I., who shared a video on social media of the two of them together. “I’m back,” Thug declared in the video. “I’m back, Jack. No cap in my rap. The right way!” Check out his father’s full comments on the situation below.

NLE Choppa Triples Down On LGBTQ+ Support By Announcing Black Pride Show In Atlanta

NLE Choppa’s staunch support of the LBGTQ+ community got him a lot of praise and gratitude, but also a lot of bigoted hate. If it isn’t from folks who have a problem with anything non-cisgender-heteronormative, then it’s from people assuming that he must be gay in order to take this stance. But as the Memphis rapper explained in a new video, he doesn’t care about people’s assumptions and will always advocate against their discriminatory behavior. He did so during his announcement of a performance in Atlanta for Black Pride today (Sunday, September 1) so go check him out if you’re in the area.

“Atlanta Black Pride September 1ST Im Live In Performance,” NLE Choppa captioned the social media video on Instagram. “THE BANK. 3120 DONALD LEE HOLLOWELL PKWY NW, ATLANTA,GA 30318.” “Um, if you a person that has had something to say about me over these last six months regarding if I’m gay or if I’m an f-bomb or if I’m this and if I’m that…” he said in the clip itself.

“Well, this might make you a little bit more mad or make you more infatuated with trying to come to a conclusion of who I am,” NLE Choppa continued. “When I tell y’all, that is who I is. But because I know who I am so deeply and [I’m] so appreciative of who I am, I will be doing my justice by, you know, coming to Atlanta for Black Pride Fest and showing love to the LGBTQ community for being one of the best of the audiences that’s been streaming ‘Slut Me Out 2.

“So the same way that they’re pouring love into me is the same way that I’m giving back love,” NLE Choppa continued. “And yeah, I’ma let y’all judge me again and say what y’all want to say about me. ‘Cause y’all are going to say what y’all are going to say regardless.” Regardless of what backlash might come his way, the “Slut SZN” merch entrepreneur is going to continue to support all his fans and fight back against discrimination and bigotry that affects the LBGTQ+ community today.

K Supreme Gets Robbed At Gunpoint In Broad Daylight In Shocking Footage

Aside from a few songs here and there, fans haven’t heard much from K Supreme in recent months. Earlier today, however, DJ Akademiks shared security footage of a shocking incident he was involved in back in 2021. In the footage, K Supreme is seen heading out to his car with a friend in Atlanta when various people run up on him. One of the individuals was seen holding a large gun, and as one would expect, K Supreme booked it.

His friend calmly got into the passenger seat of the vehicle while the alleged robbers chased the rapper, and eventually, they left after presumably stealing his belongings. Fans in Akademiks’ comments section are shocked by the incident, and speculating whether or not the friend seen in the footage could have been involved. Of course, this is unconfirmed, and there are very few details about the situation available at the time of writing.

K Supreme’s 2021 Robbery Footage Surfaces Online

One of the most unsettling parts of the incident, as Instagram users point out, is that it happened in broad daylight. It’s unclear exactly who the suspects in the video are or why they targeted K Supreme. He’s yet to comment on the footage surfacing online. This isn’t the only Atlanta robbery social media users have heard about lately, however. Earlier this month, Kash Doll took to her Instagram Story to reveal that she too was targeted by robbers. According to her, she was visiting Detroit when they stopped by her Atlanta home, prompting a shootout between them and the father of her child.

Reportedly, nobody was seriously injured, and they were later caught by police. What do you think of security footage of K Supreme getting robbed in broad daylight back in 2021 surfacing online? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Nipsey Hussle Wax Figure Impresses Atlanta Fans At Invest Fest

In March 2019, Nipsey Hussle’s life was tragically cut short, but his legacy lives on. The West Coast icon continues to get the recognition he deserves for his contributions to hip-hop and more, most recently at Invest Fest in Atlanta. In a clip making its rounds online, a Nipsey Hussle wax figure is unveiled at the event, and the crowd goes wild.

Earn Your Leisure CEO Rashad Bilal teamed up with Microsoft and The Marathon, the late rapper’s clothing company, for the $100K Nipsey Hussle Business Grant. The grant went to one lucky entrepreneur to grow their business. Bilal chatted with REVOLT about the partnership last month. He revealed that it all stemmed from his interview with Nipsey’s brother, Blacc Sam. “When we were putting together the Invest Fest lineup, I definitely wanted The Marathon to be a part of it in some capacity,” he explained. “The first idea was to have The Marathon as a pop-up shop. But Sam wanted to do something more impactful than just have merch there.”

Mr. Officials Honors Nipsey Hussle With Wax Figure

“So, I just thought we should have a pitch competition,” Bilal continued. “I proposed it to The Marathon team, and they liked it. After that, we spoke with Microsoft, and they also agreed to provide some funding for it. So that was helpful.” The Nipsey Hussle wax figure was created by Mr. Officials, who’s done wax figures of Takeoff, Lil Wayne, and more.

He was also one of the four finalists to join the pitch competition for the Nipsey Hussle Business Grant this weekend. According to him, it took nine months to complete. While the grant went to Divine Luminance Juices in the end, he said he still “[feels] like a winner” in a recent Instagram Story. What do you think of a Nipsey Hussle wax figure being unveiled at Invest Fest earlier this weekend? How does it look? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
