Marlon Wayans is a beloved actor and comedian who has given us some classics over the years. Recently, you may recall that Wayans was in a bit of a feud with none other than DJ Vlad. The whole beef stemmed from Wayans wanting money to be interviewed by Vlad. Vlad did not appreciate this, especially since Wayans’ interviews don’t generate the clicks necessary to make the money back. Overall, fans took Wayans’ side, and it is easy to see why given his legendary status.
Recently, however, Wayans found himself on the side of cringe. In the post below, you can see that Wayans crafted a lengthy paragraph in reply to an automated text from Barack Obama. It is the kind of text that is sent to anyone who has either voted or donated to a Democratic political campaign. Overall, Wayans’ text was an attempt at humor, but for some, it fell flat.
Interestingly enough, some people on The Shade Room actually thought that Wayans had messaged the real Obama. Meanwhile, others made fun of those who are so easily convinced. “Idk if I want to laugh or cry! The number of people who DID NOT realize it’s a campaign text he was trolling is SCARY! That means they’re probably not registered to vote!” one person wrote. “Mannn, Barack sent me that same message… and here I was thinking I was special,” said another. “Ohh the amount of uneducated people in these comments is frightening. THATS NOT ACTUALLY OBAMA !!!! it’s a automated text,” one commenter concluded.
Let us know what you think about all of this, in the comments section down below. What do you make of so many people getting duped into thinking he was actually messaging Obama? Have you been paying attention to the election? Who do you think will win? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the entertainment world. The 2024 U.S. presidential election is an absolute firestorm right now, and a lot of folks’ casual exposure to it saw some huge shocks. Many people who usually don’t pay attention to politics suddenly had a presidential assassination attempt to contend with, and Trump’s Democratic opponent Joe Biden also threw a wrench into things. Well, he technically wasn’t the one to do so, as the White House recently announced that the 46th Commander in Chief tested positive for COVID-19 this week. Furthermore, this has led many people, including Meek Mill, to remark on how wild this election cycle has been, and what chaos remains for the country at the end of the tunnel.
“I wish I never learned about politics because now y’all scaring me,” Meek Mill tweeted in reaction to Biden’s COVID diagnosis. Of course, this is a pretty ironic and likely irrelevant statement for the future, as we’re sure that he will continue to comment on political matters moving forward. In addition, the Philly MC often comments on social and community issues that sometimes overlap with political fare, although one recent example certainly had nothing to do with electoral campaigns or social causes. He recently called for a “manhunt” for a viral Philadelphia man who allegedly ejaculated on a woman’s leg in public.
While Meek Mill ponders on this Biden and Trump showdown, one of his friends sought to patch up one of his own beefs: 50 Cent. “We just bumped into each other,” Fif affiliate Mike Knox said in a video with one of Meek’s colleagues. “We had a serious conversation about this situation with Meek and how I was out of pocket, how I was wrong, right? How I was f***ed up, how I was disrespectful. I wasn’t on man time, how I got caught up in the bulls**t with the Instagram and being disrespectful.
“We had something going on together where we always supposed to do something together and switch, and I got on some bulls**t,” Mike Knox continued. “Right, with the Meek Mill hate train, with the disrespect and with saying anything that wasn’t supposed to be said on a man’s time. And as a man, I apologize. I was wrong, it shouldn’t have happened. It’s not going to happen again, that’s not how we move, that’s not how we handle s**t. As a man, Meek, I apologize. As a man, [Meek’s friend], I apologize, and this s**t won’t happen no more.”
Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow are two New York artists who caught quite a bit of flack recently. Overall, this was due to the fact that they joined Donald Trump on stage for a special rally. During this rally, they revealed their support for the former President as he seeks election in 2024. Many fans felt like this support was a bit of a betrayal. Meanwhile, other fans praised the two artists for being politically active. Needless to say, it was a polarizing move.
Yesterday, we reported on how Peter Rosenberg of Hot 97 said that Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow should be removed from the Summer Jam lineup. Ebro and Laura Styles didn’t necessarily disagree, although it remains to be seen what will happen next. What we do know is that both artists have responded. In the Instagram post below, you can see that Sleepy Hallow took a more schoolyard approach, saying “this old n***a is dick eater.” Meanwhile, Sheff G offered up a longer retort.
In his post, Sheff G noted that Hot 97 has never shouted him out for his success. Instead, the only time they talk about him is when they want to be negative. Furthermore, Sheff G pondered why he needs to have the same political opinions as the Hot 97 hosts. As he notes, everyone is free to vote for who they want. While some may vehemently disagree with the way Sheff G is using his platform, it’s clear that he is standing on his previous actions. Whether or not this leads to a removal from the Summer Jam lineup, still remains to be seen.
Let us know what you think of this response from Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that these two are going to be taken off of the Summer Jam lineup? Do you agree with the way they handled the comments made by Rosenberg? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. Recently, Donald Trump held a presidential rally in NYC, where he was joined onstage by Brooklyn-based rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow. Sheff G had nothing but nice things to say about the former U.S. President. “One thing I wanna say,” he began. “They always gonna whisper your accomplishments and shout your failures. Trump gonna shout the wins for all of us.” Sleepy Hallow didn’t say much as he stood nearby, though he did approach the microphone briefly to say “Make America great again.”
The unexpected collab left many fans confused, and some angry. Peter Rosenberg, for example, recently shared his take on the endorsement on Ebro in the Morning. According to him, they should be pulled from Hot 97’s Summer Jam lineup because of it. He didn’t hesitate to channel his inner “Karen” and tell his higher-ups that, either.
In a clip from the episode, Rosenberg explains that the rally appeared to be a “big joke” to Sleepy Hallow, who he claims “laughed through” his entire endorsement. Regardless, he’s not giving him a pass. In fact, that made it somewhat worse in his eyes, as he suggests it indicates he’s not taking the issue seriously. “He could barely hold himself together from laughing,” he said. “What kind of endorsement is that?”
Rosenberg went on to claim that he’s asked a journalist friend of his to dig into why and how the appearance came about in the first place. What do you think of Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow speaking at Donald Trump’s presidential rally in NYC? What about Peter Rosenberg claiming they should be pulled from the Hot 97 Summer Jam lineup because of it? Do you agree with him or not? Though there have long been rumors that Donald Trump used the n-word, an ex-producer of “The Apprentice” is now categorically asserting that he did. Bill Pruitt, who produced the first season of the popular NBC show in 2004 and continued to work on it for many years thereafter, recently wrote an essay on Slate in which he claims the former president used the epithet in reference to a Black participant. He asserts that Trump used the n-word when thinking of the first-season finalists. The finalists were Kwame Jackson, the runner-up, and Bill Rancic, who won the competition in 2004.
According to Pruitt’s account of the event, Jay Bienstock, the showrunner of “Apprentice,” Carolyn Kepcher, who oversaw Trump’s hospitality divisions at the time, and Pruitt himself got together to talk about the last two men, which Pruitt maintains was a recorded moment. He claims that this exchange was intended to be captured on camera to precede Trump’s final choice. The team informed Trump about their choices. It is alleged that he recoiled at the idea that Kwame ought to be given priority.
According to Pruitt, when Kepcher said, “I think Kwame would be a great addition to the organization,” Trump supposedly frowned in response. According to Pruitt, after several issues, Trump questioned Kwame about why he hadn’t fired Omarosa. Kwame’s staff responded by claiming Kwame lacked the authority to do so. Then Trump allegedly said, “Yeah, but, I mean, would America buy a n***** winning?” Pruitt believes that when after Trump said this, he winced more and more. He allegedly gave the impression that he was serious about not wanting Kwame to win. Pruitt also claims that Kepcher became pale after hearing this. After that, Bienstock is said to have shifted the conversation’s focus to George Ross, one of Trump’s lawyers, who was also purportedly there.
Following that, according to Pruitt, no one acknowledged what Trump had said. Moreover, the purportedly recorded moment and other odious things Trump had allegedly said while filming were never released. There is no evidence to support Trump’s long-standing denial that he ever said it. There have been no comments from those involved outside of Pruitt. Overall, the alleged Donald Trump n-word video may still be out there.
Robert De Niro is no stranger to sparing with Trump supporters. Outside the Manhattan courtroom where Donald Trump is on trial in his hush-money case, President Joe Biden’s campaign had a news conference. Actor Robert De Niro and two law enforcement officials who protected the Capitol from the Jan. 6, 2021, mob warned of the risks associated with re-electing the former president. “The Twin Towers fell just over here, just over there. This part of the city was like a ghost town, but we vowed we would not allow terrorists to change our way of life. … I love this city. I don’t want to destroy it. Donald Trump wants to destroy not only the city, but the country, and eventually he can destroy the world,” De Niro said.
The legendary actor continued, “I don’t mean to scare you. No, no, wait — maybe I do mean to scare you If Trump returns to the White House, you can kiss these freedoms goodbye that we all take for granted. And elections — forget about it. That’s over, that’s done. If he gets in, I can tell you right now, he will never leave.”
Robert De Niro Has War Of Words With Trump Supporters
On his way back to his car following the press conference, De Niro got into an altercation with some pro-Trump demonstrators who screamed at him that he’s a “little punk,” a “paid sell-out” to the Democratic National Committee, a “wannabe,” and “nobody.” De Niro did not back down. “You’re not going to intimidate,” De Niro replied. “That’s what Trump does. … We are going to fight back. We’re trying to be gentlemen in this world, the Democrats. You are gangsters. You are gangsters!” A protester yelled, “You’re washed up,” to which De Niro swiftly replied, “F— you.”
Additionally, the Trump team held a press conference where they ridiculed the Biden campaign for hiring De Niro. Karoline Leavitt, the spokeswoman, attacked “elitist out-of-touch Hollywood actors like Robert De Niro who have no idea the real problems that people in this city and across this country are facing.” Furthermore, a new advertisement starring Robert De Niro was unveiled by the Biden campaign on Friday and will be shown on television and internet platforms in states that are considered battlegrounds. Additionally, De Niro was nominated for an Oscar this year for his work on Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. Overall, Robert De Niro isn’t backing down to anyone.
Ice Cube has shared his opinions about celebrities supporting Donald Trump and his pursuit of presidential reelection in the midst of many ongoing legal proceedings. The legendary West Coast hip-hop artist and businessman said as much in a recent interview with Fox Business. Cube not only called the choice “private,” but it also questioned the legitimacy of celebrity endorsements in general. Cube said, “I think it’s a personal decision. I don’t know if they care if any rappers or entertainers get up there and say anything. It’s really a personal decision.”
Ice Cube further asserted that the public, despite the influence of political leaders and their supporters, retains the power to make independent decisions during elections. He stated, “People know who Trump is,” he said in part. “People know who Biden is. They’re going to make their decision no matter who gets up there and pushes whatever agenda they want.” This emphasis on the public’s autonomy in decision-making is a powerful reminder of their role in shaping the political landscape.
“I think that people have realized that neither party really speaks for minorities, maybe for the Black audience, and it comes down to who they think will really help them on the issues that they care about,” said Big Three League President Jeff Kwatinetz, who also voiced his opinion alongside Ice Cube. As Trump seeks a second term in power, a number of rappers have recently been connected to him.
In addition to earlier support for Trump from musicians like Wocka Flocka and Kodak Black, Lil Pump confirmed his support for the president back in January by getting a tattoo. Additionally, Ice Cube discussed the most recent changes to his professional sports league, having secured a $10 million contract with the sale of its first franchise. He said of THe Big 3, “It’s a league that we kind of started from scratch in 2017. We’ve been, for eight years, growing this league, and it’s not been easy. We had to go through COVID.” Overall, ice Cube is a man about his business.
Aside from his music, Boosie Badazz is known for sharing his opinion on anything and everything online. This isn’t only limited to the world of hip hop either, as he also frequently weighs in on current events, politics, and more. Earlier today, for example, he decided to share his take on the current state of the U.S. economy. According to him, it’s not looking good. In fact, he says that this is the “brokest” he’s ever seen the country.
Boosie sounded off on Twitter/X, explaining how nowadays, a lot of people are barely scraping by. He described how after paying their bills, most are left with little money to spend on anything else. The Louisiana-born MC also noted how several companies are laying off employees and filing for bankruptcy.
“ITS CR*ZY HOW EVERY COMPANY IS GOING BROKE N FILING FOR BANKRUPTCY THIS WORLD HAS NO MONEY,” he began. “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS HURTING. PEOPLE HAVE NO MONEY. BESIDES PAYING YOUR BILLS ITS NOTHING EXTRA YOU HAVE MONEY TO SPEND ON COMPANIES HAVE TO LAY OFF THOUSANDS OF WORKERS YOU REALLY HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR LIFESTYLE R ELSE THIS IS THE BROKEST IVE EVER SEEN AMERICA.” Of course, Boosie’s post has prompted some spirited responses in his comments section.
While many think that the rapper made some solid points, others are urging him to stop complaining, as he’s likely to have it better on the financial front than most. Several also argue that what he’s pointed out is nothing new. What do you think of Boosie Badazz’s recent Tweet about the current state of the U.S. economy? Do you agree with him or not? What do you think is to blame? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
The pipeline from sports to politics in America is more popular than one might think. Indeed, several sportsmen have taken the leap from the field into the backbone of U.S. affairs. From the popular bodybuilder turned Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger to NBA All-Star-turned-Mayor, Kevin Johnson, many former athletes have found another career in politics. Surely, that won’t end in the future, as former pro-wrestler-turned-actor, Dwayne Johnson, has been at the center of political talks recently. On that note, we’ve outlined a list of former pro athletes who have also stepped foot in politics at one time or the other.
Jim Bunning was an American legislator for 24 years, first serving in the House of Representatives and then the Senate. He was well known for his Republican, conservative views while in office. However, long before pivoting to politics, Jim Bunning was one of the most feared athletes in baseball. He played as a pitcher for top teams in the MLB including the Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Dodgers.
As an acknowledgment of his contribution to Baseball, Jim Bunning was inducted into the Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1996. According to the Hall Of Fame, the pitcher enjoyed 17 years playing in the big league. He finally settled down as a politician following his tenure in the MLB. Senator Bunning was also involved in the union activities of the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA). Perhaps this was the precursor to his fulfilling political career.
Arnold Schwarzeneggar
Arnold Schwarzenegger is popular for many reasons, specifically for starring roles in the Terminator series, but he also used to be a professional sportsman. Additionally, he won the most prestigious bodybuilding competition in the world, the Mr. Olympia, seven times. After gaining fame as one of the most famous athletes in bodybuilding, however, he went on to have an illustrious acting career, before venturing into politics.
In 2003, after having become successful as an actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger became the governor of California through a recall election. Moreover, he served in this post for eight years. In that time, he also achieved a good number of reforms, including environmental legislation. According to a report by the National Governors Association, his government was instrumental in signing legislation to reduce California’s greenhouse emissions in 2006.
Bill Bradley is well known as a senator who focused on tax reforms. But before he became a senator, he was a basketball player. Senator Bradley played for the New York Knicks for about 10 years. After retiring from the sport in 1977, he wasted no time in running for office. Bill Bradley’s political ambitions reached the highest political seat in America — presidency. He ran against the incumbent president, Al Gore, for the Republican party seat. He, however, did not emerge victorious. Reaching great heights in both sports and politics, Bradley was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007.
George Weah
George Weah dominated the world of soccer, playing for teams like Monaco, Chelsea, and Manchester City. Soon after, he achieved a stellar career in Liberian politics, becoming one of the most renowned athletes to make a successful pivot. The former African Footballer of the Year became incumbent President of Liberia in 2018. Weah will leave office come January 2024.
Kevin Johnson
Kevin Johnson had a successful career in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns, as well as with the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, he left the basketball scene in 1998, deciding to pursue a career in public service. He remains one of the most famous former athletes in politics. In 2008, Johnson ran for the position of mayor in Sacramento, California, his hometown, and won. This achievement also made him the first African-American mayor of Sacramento. Moreover, Johnson was re-elected to this post in 2012, eventually serving until 2016.
Heath Shuler
Heath Shuler had a fulfilling NFL career where he played as a quarterback for about three years. The future US representative played for the Redskins and New Orleans Saints. Upon retiring from the NFL in the nineties, Heath Shuler focused on his real estate company for a while. Soon after, in 2006, he ran for Congress and became the representative for North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District. In this role, he was proactive and even challenged Nancy Pelosi for the post of minority leader. Heath Shuler eventually announced his resignation in 2012. Shuler is one of the most famous former NFL athletes who had a stint in politics.
Jack Kemp
Jack Kemp is another former athlete whose political ambitions also reached the executive arm of the federal government. He ran as the Republican nominee for Vice President in 1996 alongside Bob Dole, the former presidential aspirant. Before running with Bob Dole, however, Jack Kemp was a US Representative for almost two decades. During his tenure, he was popular for tax reform and supply-side economics.
As a professional football player in the 50s and 60s, Jack Kemp played for the Buffalo Bills in the American Football League (AFL). He originally tried to get into the NFL but to no avail. Senator Kemp eventually ran for office in 1970, and that began the political story of one of the most renowned former athletes to succeed in politics in America’s history. Kemp passed away in 2009.
