Boosie Badazz Doubles Down On Usher Super Bowl Criticisms

Last week, fans of sports, music, and pop culture at large gathered to watch the Super Bowl. During the game itself, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs played the San Francisco 49ers in an exciting back-and-forth game. The teams needed overtime for Kansas City to eventually win the game and take home their second consecutive Super Bowl win. But music fans were more focused on what happened between the two halves of the game during Usher’s massive halftime show.

The R&B legend unpacked some of the biggest hits from his decades-long career much to the delight of fans. He also had an array of guests involved which included Alicia Keys. The pair performed “My Boo” together, though the most talked about moment didn’t have much to do with either of their singing. It was a moment when Usher hugged Keys from behind in a moment that felt a bit too forward to many for two married artists. One person who was unsurprisingly quick to share their thoughts on the move was Boosie Badazz. Now just a few days later he’s doubling down on his comments criticizing the singer’s forwardness. Check out his new comments below.

Boosie Badazz Still Going At Usher

In a new video, Boosie is getting a haircut discussing the situation. “That is a man’s wife, bro. You cannot put your genitals on the back of a man’s wife. Cause everywhere I go they’ve been on my ass, and I’m gonna stand up for what I say ’cause I’m a real one,” he says in the video. He goes on to claim that the interaction was unplanned.

“First of all, it wasn’t planned because of the reaction on her face… If it was planned, she would have had time to ask her husband was this okay. I feel like both of them would’ve said no because they know how social media will take something like that.” What do you think of Boosie Badazz take on Usher and Alicia Keys’s Super Bowl moment? Do you think he’s right about the singer stepping over the line? Let us know in the comment section below.

Users Online Are Calling Out The NFL For Allegedly Editing Alicia Keys’ Vocals From The Super Bowl Halftime Show

Although the Kansas City Chiefs managed to pull in the historic victory in overtime, Super Bowl LVIII was painstakingly lackluster. Thankfully, the same cannot be said of Usher’s record-setting Halftime Show performance.

The “Ruin” singer’s rollerskating set not only featured some of his biggest hits (view the full setlist here) but also a few of his notable collaborators. Lil Jon, HER, Ludacris, and Alicia Keys headed to Las Vegas to join the fun. Today (February 12), users went back to rewatch the clip on the NFL’s official YouTube but quickly noticed a slight modification.

According to viewers, Keys’ vocal slip-up while opening with her 2003 song “If I Ain’t Got You” had been edited. Now, folks are calling out the NFL for allegedly correcting the vocal crack as a professional courtesy to Keys.

“Alicia Keys said, ‘Sike.’ Lol. Mandela effect happening right before our eyes,” joked one user.

“The way they fixed her vocals before uploading this on YouTube, LOL,” wrote one user.

“No way they fixed Alicia Keys’ voice online 💀💀,” said another.

“It be the non-music mfs on here like, ‘Alicia started in the wrong key.’ 😂😂😂 Terminology all wrong. She just cracked, babe😭,” penned another.

That isn’t the only thing users are up in arms with from Keys’ cameo. When Usher embraced Keys during their debut of “My Boo,” viewers began tagging her husband, producer Swizz Beatz demanding that he have a word with Usher. However, he laughed it off as the unbothered cool guy he’s always proven to be.

Alicia Keys hasn’t issued a response to the audio scrubbing. She’s probably just as unfazed as Swizz.

Alicia Keys Mishap Edited Out Of Super Bowl Halftime Show’s YouTube

Alicia Keys was one of Usher’s many special guests during his Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday (February 11), and it didn’t bring about the universal praise most folks probably expected from this link-up. Moreover, a lot of folks on social media noticed how she missed a note while starting her rendition of “If I Ain’t Got You.” Even though it was just a note, it was enough for folks to make memes about it and criticize the singer online. This became even more common once folks noticed that the NFL apparently tried to edit it out of their YouTube upload of the show.

As such, fans are now taking to social media to debate whether this is that serious, or if Alicia Keys deserves the criticism. There is such a thing as tough love, but the good intentions behind a lot of that fall flat when filtered through social media. Regardless, there are definitely other things that people are talking about a lot more this week concerning this special team-up at the Super Bowl. For example, Swizz Beatz reacted to his wife Alicia Keys and Usher’s embrace at the event, which some people thought was a little too close for comfort.

Fans Notice Alicia Keys’ Missed Note At The Super Bowl

“Y’all talking about the wrong damn thing !!!” the legendary producer wrote on Instagram about Alicia Keys and Usher. “Y’all don’t see that amazing dress covering the entire stadium. Tonight’s performance was nothing but amazing with 2 amazing Giants ! Congrats @usher and my love @aliciakeys that song is a classic. We don’t do negative vibes on this side we make history. Go see GIANTS at @brooklynmuseum it’s open until July blessings.”

However, others like Boosie Badazz had a different take. “@USHER ENOUGH IS ENOUGH BRO‼” he passionately shared on Instagram, a take that some followers disagreed with. “U NEED TO APOLOGIZE TO SWISS SHE MARRIED MY N***A I KNOW THAT WASNT PLANNED.” For more news and the latest updates on Alica Keys, stay logged into HNHH.

Usher’s incredible Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show performance gave viewers 25+ years worth of hits crammed into the 15-minute set. It also delivered a banger of a new meme for fans online who couldn’t help but swoon at a tender moment he shared with guest artist Alicia Keys. Fittingly, she had joined him onstage to perform their 2004 hit “My Boo” which led to a tender embrace.

Naturally, their chemistry sent fans into a tizzy, resulting in a number of jokes at the expense of the stars’ spouses, Swizz Beats and Jennifer Goicoechea — especially Swizz. Check out some samples below.

Swizz, however, is holding it together — or, at least, trying to make it look that way. In an Instagram post with shots from the performance, the producer wrote, “Y’all talking about the wrong damn thing!!! y’all don’t see that amazing dress covering the entire stadium? Tonight’s performance was nothing but amazing with 2 amazing giants. Congrats @usher and my love @aliciakeys that song is a classic. We don’t do negative vibes on this side we make history.”

And, look, we get why the smoldering moment would get fans’ attention. After all, Usher did once sing, “Don’t leave your girl ’round me, true playa for real.” Swizz is probably safe. Probably.

Who Performed With Usher At The Super Bowl Halftime Show?

Usher has been a premier showman for decades now, so it’s not surprising that he put on quite the performance for his Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show yesterday (February 11). Some surprises, though, came via the guests that Usher recruited to join him on the field. So, let’s run through who Usher performed alongside for his big moment (aside from the hundreds and dancers and backing musicians who were also involved).

Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show: Alicia Keys

Usher started off solo, performing at least portions of “Caught Up,” “U Don’t Have To Call,” “Superstar,” and “Love In This Club.” Then, Alicia Keys emerged as the first guest, playing piano as she and Usher sang “If I Ain’t Got You” before transitioning into their chart-topping 2004 duet “My Boo.”

Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show: Jermaine Dupri

Next was “Confessions Part II,” which featured an introduction from Jermaine Dupri.

Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show: HER

Usher ran through “Nice & Slow” and “Burn” by himself before HER played guitar (and absolutely shredded) on “U Got It Bad” and “Bad Girl.”

Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show: will.i.am

Immediately after HER was will.i.am’s turn, who emerged for a quick portion of “OMG,” his and Usher’s No. 1 hit from 2010.

Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show: Lil Jon

Then it was onto Lil Jon, whose distinctive gravely yell introduced a snippet of his and DJ Snake’s “Turn Down For What.”

Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show: Ludacris

Lil Jon stuck around for the next song as the performance headed into the finale. “Turn Down For What” transitioned into “Yeah!,” so naturally, this was Ludacris’ turn to pop up.

So far, Super Bowl LVIII hasn’t been a note. Most of the action has come from the evening’s entertainment starting with Post Malone’s rendition of “America The Beautiful.” But let’s be real: everyone was really tuned in for Usher’s highly anticipated halftime performance.

Given how many details were leaked, including Alicia Keys’ cameo, not much was left to the imagination. However, Usher still managed to deliver a notable set (and yes, it did feature his love of roller skating). Throughout the performance starring guest cameos from HER, Lil Jon, and Ludacris, Usher jumped across his multiple decade-long career. He even squeezed in some of the biggest hits of others on the stage.

Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance Got The Crowd ‘Caught Up’ On 25 Years Of Excellence

It feels a bit ridiculous to even type these words, but going into Usher’s Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show performance, there was a certain amount of skepticism about whether he was a “Super Bowl caliber” artist from some fans (you can probably guess which ones). Of course, once the veteran hitmaker hit the stage, he obliterated all doubts about his worthiness for the moment, reminding those fans that he’s got 25+ years of pop-R&B excellence under his belt.

The results of Usher’s preparations were on full display as he performed pop culture mainstays like “Caught Up,” “U Don’t Have To Call,” and “Superstar” over the course of the 15-minute set. After coming out to “Caught Up” flanked by dancers dressed in Roaring ’20s regalia, he ran through a progression of 2000s hits before bringing out Alicia Keys for a rendition of their duet “My Boo.” Usher then launched into a retrospective of his slow-burners like “Nice & Slow” and “U Got It Bad.” Naturally, he came out of his shirt during the latter. H.E.R. joined him onstage to play the guitar solo, he broke out the roller skates for a breakdown, and Lil Jon played part of “Shots” before they went into everybody’s favorite Usher song, “Yeah,” joined (of course) by Ludacris.

And just in case the performance itself wasn’t enough to turn those fans‘ expectations around, the inevitable streaming bump that’s sure to follow certainly should. After last year’s performance, Rihanna topped the streaming charts. The year before, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s 1999 hit “Still D.R.E.” reached over a billion views on YouTube, and in 2019, even the meme-baiting stunt performance of Spongebob Squarepants‘ “Sweet Victory” prompted a 500% increase in streams for the cartoon’s soundtrack.
