Rylo Rodriguez Proves He’s “Been One” On New Album

4PF artist Rylo Rodriguez is back with his latest album, released on Friday (June 30), titled Been One. If you’re already a fan of the Alabama rapper’s style, beat selection, delivery, and stream-of-consciousness flows, then we have very good news for you. Across 19 tracks, Rylo delivers a nice split between more introspective cuts and punchy, fast-tempo bangers that keep the tracklist experience pretty dynamic. Also, it’s clear that he came a long way from some of his previous singles, such as the early 2022 release of “Set Me Free.” As such, this is a consistent albeit elongated album that speaks to his strengths as an MC.

For example, the 29-year-old comes through with a lot of faster rhymes and hardened delivery over banging beats like “Unf**kwitable” and the EST Gee-assisted “On Da Floor.” Furthermore, these tracks represent the braggadocious and hungry sides of the street duality he delves into on Been One. On the other hand, Rylo Rodriguez also comes through with more melodic or low-key performances on tracks like “Room Comfort,” featuring Fridayy and Lil Durk. Others like “Thang For You” with NoCap and “Free Game” see him sharpening his pen with a little more topical focus. In addition, there are some tracks that fit somewhere in between like the Lil Yachty collab “Taylor Port Junkie.”

“Bama Rush” Details The Epic Highs And Lows Of Sorority Rushing

Greek life is a college tradition that seems alien to those unfamiliar with it. The network of fraternities and sororities that sprawl across so many campuses has become a cultural touchstone. They’ve been documented in films like Animal House, received hundreds of negative headlines, and even become the focus of social media fascination. From the good to the bad to the downright ugly, Greek life has long been in the public eye.

But in the world of sororities in particular, there is no school like the University of Alabama. Rush week is an institution onto itself at Alabama. There are cases of women only going to Alabama for the sororities and even more examples of women transferring just weeks into their freshman year because they didn’t get in. All that is about to be put on display in a new HBO documentary. As the trailer says, “Greek life is everything at Alabama.”

“Bama Rush” Trailer Reveals The Truth About Sororities

At first, the trailer for new HBO documentary Bama Rush appears to be your run-of-the-mill “niche fascination” documentary. It sets its locale, the University of Alabama, and its premise, exploring the intricate rituals of “rush week”. This is done through the eyes, and cameras, of four young women hoping to join one of the campus’ many sororities. But then the tone begins to shift. HBO begins to introduce us to the darker side of the film. We start to learn about the insecurities harbored by our “protagonists”, showing the ways they are both drawn to, and could be exploited by, the sorority system. That transitions into the fight to be in a “top house”. That ranking is determined by which house the frat boys have deemed the hottest.

And then comes the kicker. The documentary not only covers Greek life but the paranoia and suspicion about the documentary itself. Greek life has always walked on a razor’s edge, often falling into infamy. However, as one echoing voice can be heard in the trailer, “This documentary could be the end of Greek life as we know it.” Get ready to be thrust into the deep and dark world of sorority rushing when Bama Rush debuts on May 23.

Trae tha Truth Helps Alabama Woman Who Was Arrested for Trash Bill

Trae tha Truth Helps Alabama Woman Who Was Arrested for Trash Bill

Trae tha Truth always gives back to his community.  He never fails to involve himself in local issues. This time he takes his talents past Texas.

Last year, Alabama resident, Martha Menefield, was arrested for failing to pay a trash bill.  In November, she called authorities to take her into custody as she believed she had already paid the $77 fine. Menefield was charged with failure to pay solid waste fees.  A month later, the Houston rapper shared the confusing situation on Instagram.  Many people took to the comments to share their frustrations about the arrest.  The City responded by stating Menefield had a history of this and never responded to the citation to appear in court.  Menefield remains that she never received a citation.

Trae took it upon himself to visit the Alabama resident and take her shopping.  Months later and Trae is still helping Menefield out.  He combined with BEL furniture in Alabama to provide her with beds, sofas, chairs, and dressers.  The next thing on his list is to solve Menefield’s heating and air conditioning problem, as she has neither.  He also plans to fix the foundation in her home and purchase her a vehicle.

Brandon Miller Breaks Silence On Jamea Harris’ Death

Brandon Miller is currently one of the best players in college basketball. However, he is mostly being talked about for all of the wrong reasons. This is due to the murder case involving Jamea Harris. Harris was a 23-year-old mother who was shot and killed close to the Alabama campus. Overall, it is a heartbreaking situation that has some ties to the Crimson Tide. This is because the alleged shooter, Michael Davis, allegedly got the gun from Darius Miles. Miles was a player on the team before subsequently being expelled for his connection to the murder.

Miller is now being wrapped up in the case as police have accused him of initially providing Miles with the weapon in question. Although Miller has been named as an alleged connection to the case, he has not been charged with anything. In fact, Alabama is allowing him to continue his season. Moreover, he was recently named SEC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. Both of these designations have shocked fans who feel as though Miller should be removed from the team.

Brandon Miller Talks

Today, during a press conference, Miller actually broke his silence on the Jamea Harris murder case. Although Miller did not comment on the allegations against him, he did make sure to offer sympathy for Harris’ family. For Miller, it is devastating and upsetting that someone lost their life. “I never lose sight of the fact that a family has lost one of their loved ones that night,” Miller said. “This whole situation is just really heartbreaking. Respectfully, that’s all I’m going to be able to say on that.”

Clearly, the Crimson Tide do not want Miller saying too much about all of this. There is still a lot that needs to be figured out in this case, and for now, everyone’s hands are tied. Not to mention, March Madness starts very soon, which makes all of this a lot more complicated. No matter what, our hearts go out to Harris’ family at this time. Be sure to stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates on this developing story.

Brandon Miller Wins Huge Award Amid Alleged Connection To Murder Case

Alabama basketball star Brandon Miller has been in the news quite a bit as of late, and not for the right reasons. According to reports, Miller was named as an alleged accomplice to the murder of Jamea Harris. Overall, Miller has only been accused and he has not been hit with any charges. Consequently, the Crimson Tide has allowed him to continue playing. As it stands, he is their best player, although that should not matter. At this point, many are calling for him to be removed from the team, especially with March Madness on the horizon.

In terms of the aforementioned murder case, Miller is being accused of providing a gun to Darius Miles. This gun was then allegedly passed off to Michael Davis who allegedly killed Harris. Miles was also a member of the Alabama basketball team, however, he was expelled after being arrested and charged. Overall, it is a truly horrific situation that has many feeling slighted by the school. This is especially true now that Miller has just been given a huge honor by the SEC.

Brandon Miller Gets Massive Honor

Today, the Southeastern Conference named Miller their player of the year and their freshman of the year. For many fans, this is a shocking announcement, even if he was the best player on the court. Ultimately, the optics of this are pretty bad. Moreover, Harris’ mom has already voiced her displeasure over the fact that Miller has been allowed to play. “He took a brief pause and it didn’t stop. It’s like, OK, slap on the wrist and go play ball,” DeCarla Cotton said in an interview with USA Today. “They’re worried about his career, but what about this 5-year-old boy [Harris’ son, Kaine]? He’s the true victim in all this. He won’t have a mother anymore to influence his growing up and who he’s going to be.”

No matter how you swing this, it is a bad situation, particularly for the victims. However, with Miller not currently facing any legal issues, Alabama feels like there is no reason to pull him from the lineup. Whether people like it or not, that is the decision the school has made and will continue to make. If new developments present themselves, perhaps things will change. Stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates on this story.

Brandon Miller Drops 41 Points After Being Implicated In Murder Case

Brandon Miller is currently being accused of something serious right now. For those who don’t know who Miller is, he is the star player for the Alabama Crimson Tide basketball team. Overall, Alabama is ranked second in the nation, and Miller is their leading scorer. However, the team has been embroiled in controversy. This is because one of their other players, Darius Miles, was charged with capital murder. According to reports, he allegedly supplied a gun to Michael Lynn Davis, who shot and killed Jamea Harris. This all happened close to the Alabama campus.

Although Alabama has expelled Miles, they are still dealing with the fallout from the case. Earlier this week, we reported that a witness implicated Miller in the shooting. According to detective Branden Culpepper, Miller allegedly gave the gun to Miles, who then gave it to Davis. For now, however, Miller cannot be charged with anything and there is no telling if he will be. That said, Alabama is letting him play, and last night, he broke through with a massive game against South Carolina.

Brandon Miller Game-Winner

Miller grabbed a total of 41 points and also added 8 rebounds. Furthermore, he was able to get the game-winning basket in overtime. Overall, it was an amazing game for Miller, who was met with vitriol from fans in South Carolina. Of course, they were well aware of everything that Miller was being accused of. This led to numerous “lock him up” chants throughout the match. Clearly, none of this fazed Miller who continued to play his game. Now, it seems like Miller is considered to be one of the best players in college basketball, and it will be interesting to see how this all develops further.

The Miles murder case definitely complicates things for the Crimson Tide. There is all sorts of negative attention surrounding Miller and the team, although there is no telling if the legal ramifications will ever come. For now, the team will just have to operate as normal until more details come to light. This is a developing story, so stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the sports world.

Alabama Forward Darius Miles Charged With Murder

Authorities have charged Alabama men’s basketball player Darius Miles with the capital murder of a 23-year-old woman. He was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on Sunday afternoon.

Tuscaloosa Police Capt. Jack Kennedy says that the shooting occurred in the Strip off University Blvd near campus on Sunday morning. The victim has been identified as Jamea Harris.

In addition to Miles, police booked another man named Michael Lynn Davis for the shooting. The two allegedly opened fire into a car, in which Harris was a passenger. One of the suspects, who has not been identified, was shot in return fire from the car.

“At this time, it appears that the only motive was a minor altercation that these individuals had with the victim as they were out on the Strip,” Kennedy said in a news conference Sunday evening.

Miles last played for Alabama on December 20, 2022, when he scored two points in Alabama’s 84-64 win over Jackson State. On Saturday, the school announced that Miles would miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury. Alabama is ranked fourth in the country.

The University of Alabama has since kicked Miles off the team. The school addressed the incident in a statement after the arrest.

“The University of Alabama’s utmost priority is the safety and well-being of the campus community,” the statement read. “We are grieved by the incident that occurred near campus last night and extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and friends.”

The school is also offering counseling services for students.

Prayers Up: Severe Tornado Outbreak Causes Significant Damage to Selma, AL

Severe Tornado Outbreak Causes Significant Damage to Selma, AL

Severe storms in the south sparked a tornado outbreak, with Selma, Alabama being one of the hardest hit areas in the state.

According to WSFA-12 Alabama, extensive damage was seen across businesses and building across the city’s Broad street. A tornado hit the downtown area ranging with the strength of an EF2 or EF3, tossing debris up to 16,000 feet in the area.

Selma is now considered a disaster area as roads are blocked and multiple people are injured. Search and rescue efforts began Friday (Jan. 13) morning, but no deaths have been reported.

The damage of the tornado outbreak stretched across the state of Alabama, as the Dallas County Jail was also among the impacted areas. Inmates are now being relocated. A curfew is currently in place in Selma between dusk and dawn.

“As I was closing the bathroom door, I saw the windows blow out,” Selma business owner Mel Gilmer said. “Five seconds later, I look up in the bathroom and I see sky.”

Images from the scenes in Selma are available below.

NoCap Releases New Mixtape, “The Main Bird”

Even when industry business gets in the way, it’s always great to see an artist deliver to fans despite the hiccups. NoCap did just that and released The Main Bird, a seven-track mixtape. Moreover, it was originally going to contain 16 songs, but ran into sample clearance issues. While those get sorted out, the Alabama rapper’s dropped more introspective melodic cuts and a few bangers to even his style out. Also, the track comes just days after his melodic feature on Monaleo’s “Miss U Already.”

While the 24-year-old is known to often get into those tuneful styles, he balances it out with some heat. Moreover, he recruited Rob49 and Rylo Rodriguez for some guest verses on the album. Rob delivers some aggressive energy over the Wheezy-produced “How It’s Going.” Meanwhile, Rylo dials things back on “Tight End” with some auto-tuned croons. However, NoCap remains the star of the show, and he kept up fast momentum after this year’s Mr. Crawford with the single “DNA.”

Although NoCap’s continued to build that success, it’s also resulted in some cut ties. He beefed with NBA YoungBoy recently via Instagram shots after YoungBoy wrote he doesn’t mess with him anymore. Later, NoCap called YB a “hater.”

“Let me know what I owe you,” he wrote in a message to the Louisiana rapper. “I don’t recall you giving s**t. I took the blame for why we don’t do music because I was trying to keep your hater card clean. But nah we really don’t do music because he probably scared I’ll be bigger on some baby s**t.” If The Main Bird and KnowCap are any indication, it looks like he’ll continue to make his own mark.

What did you think of this mixtape? Are you looking forward to KnowCap? Let us know in the comments. If you still haven’t tuned in, you can find The Main Bird by NoCap on your preferred streaming service.
