Fans Have Taken Snoop Dogg’s 2024 Olympic Torch Moment And Turned It Into One Fiery Joke About Stoners

In his career, Snoop Dogg has set the charts on fire and sparked a few (more than a few) blunts. But the legendary hip-hop figure was willing to put his love for marijuana on the back burner to fulfill one of his lifelong dreams — carrying the Olympic torch at the 2024 games.

Today (July 25), the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper completed his ultimate side mission while in the Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis. Snoop took to X (formerly Twitter) with pride for his monumental accomplishment.

“Did somethin today. [100 emoji] [fist pound emoji] [fire emoji] #FollowTheDogg,” he wrote.

But users online wasted no time turning the moment into one flaming joke about stoners. Several folks took some creative liberties, mainly photo and video editing, to re-imagine the ceremony.

“Thank you for holding the Olympic joint,” wrote one page.

“Hope you had fun,” wrote one user with a modified photo.

“You tried to smoke it didn’t you,” laughed one person.

“Light a blunt with it,” asked anoter.

“I know Snoop in Paris high as hell,” laughed another.

Even the official Olympic page chimed in with a joke of their own.

“Don’t… ‘Drop it like it’s hot,” wrote the page.

All in all, Snoop is on cloud nine over his career high or so he told AP. “I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect,” he said. “I would have never dreamed of nothing like this,” he said. “I’m going to be on my best behavior. I’m going to be on my best athleticism. I’ll be able to breathe slow to walk fast and hold the torch with a smile on my face, because I realize how prestigious this event is.”

Anderson .Paak And Gwen Stefani Could Medal In Vibes Based On Their ‘Hello World (Song Of The Olympics)’ Video

The 2024 Paris Olympics will kick off on Friday, July 26. Céline Dion and Lady Gaga are expected to perform at the opening ceremony, but Anderson .Paak and Gwen Stefani got a head start.

On Thursday, July 25, Anderson .Paak and Stefani released “Hello World (Song of The Olympics™)” with a video posted to the Olympics’ official YouTube channel.

“The Olympics and The Coca-Cola Company teamed up with Ryan Tedder, Gwen Stefani, and Anderson .Paak to create a song that celebrates the magic that happens when the world comes together at the Olympic Games,” the YouTube description reads.

Tedder co-produced and co-wrote the feel-good anthem. In the video, .Paak sets the tone by singing, “Hello, world, where ya been? / I’ve been waiting for you and your friends / One love begins / Tip-top, we’re starting at ten / If you believe that we can make some magic happen, say yeah.”

.Paak’s performance is spliced with footage of Olympic athletes being generally awesome, and eventually, we’re joined by a glittery Stefani. “I was mindin’ my business, taking care of business,” she sings. “Doin’ my thing / Woke up in the middle of the night like, ‘Ooh’ / Heard the telephone ring / I don’t need to tell you, I don’t need to explain / It’s ‘Hello World,’ we showin’ up, we changing the game.”

The 2024 Paris Olympics will run from July 26 to August 11, and you can expect to hear this song umpteen times in between.

Caitlin Clark Breaks Silence On Olympics Snub: “It Gives Me Something To Work For”

Caitlin Clark has finally addressed being left off the roster for the U.S. women’s basketball team in the upcoming Paris Olympics. Speaking with reporters on Sunday, she explained why she’s not disappointed by the news. The roster leaked with CNN sports analyst Christine Brennan explaining that the decision was the result of “concern over how Clark’s millions of fans would react to what would likely be limited playing time on a stacked roster.”

“I’m excited for the girls that are on the team,” Clark told reporters Sunday. “I know it’s the most competitive team in the world and I know it could have gone either way — me being on the team or me not being on the team. I’m going to be rooting them on to win gold. I was a kid that grew up watching the Olympics, so it will be fun to watch them.” As for whether not receiving a spot on the team is a disappointment, she added: “Honestly, no disappointment. It just gives me something to work for; it’s a dream. Hopefully one day I can be there. I think it’s just a little more motivation. You remember that. Hopefully when four years comes back around, I can be there.”

“No Question” That Israel Will Compete At Paris Olympics, IOC President Says

IOC President Thomas Bach has made it clear that Israel will compete at the upcoming Olympics in Paris. “No, there is no question about this,” Bach said when asked if Israel could be banned from participating. A handful of protests have been made since Israel resumed hostilities with Palestine last October. These protests have primarily stemmed from Russia, who are currently prohibited from participating due to doping scandals and their invasion of Ukraine.

Furthermore, Bach said there would be special attention given to Israeli athletes who compete outside secured venues, such as cyclists. “Since the heinous attack on the Israeli team [Munich 1972], there were always special measures being taken with Israeli athletes. The authorities feel comfortable that the same will be true of course also for Paris, Marseille, or wherever there will be Israeli representation,” Bach noted. At the time of writing, 55 Israeli athletes have qualified for the Games.

Kevin Durant Sets High Team USA Benchmark For Olympics

As the Games draw closer and closer, more and more athletes have begun to speak on their intentions about the Games. Kevin Durant has stated that he wants Team USA to “really make a statement” at the Olympics with “40, 50-point wins” against their opponents. There are four Olympic berths left to decide for the men’s competition. However, currently, the USA’s opponents could include France, South Sudan, Canada, Japan, Germany, Serbia, and Australia. Durant, a member of the initial player pool for Team USA, is a frontrunner to return to the squad, which is expected to be announced in May.

During the 2020 Olympics, in which Team USA won gold, they averaged a margin of victory of 25.4 points. However, this involved bouncing back from an opening game loss to France. They would later beat by five in the gold medal match. Only one of Team USA’s games, a 120-66 win over Iran, met Durant’s 2024 benchmark of “40, 50-point wins”. Team USA has won every men’s basketball gold medal since the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Kevin Durant Confronts Mavs Fans After Alleged Disrespect

Meanwhile, There was a tense moment before Suns-Mavericks last week as Durant appeared to take issue with comments made by two courtside Mavs fans. As the Suns came out onto the court for warmups, two Mavs fans appeared to shout something at Durant. In response, Durant came over to the couple and began staring them down as one of them continually asked him for a high five. However, the footage of the incident posted online makes it unclear what was said to Durant. However, it’s clear that the Suns veteran was not happy with what was said. Furthermore, Durant was later seen going back over to the couple along with arena personnel.

The Suns would end up losing by ten as the team continued in their struggles to find consistency. Durant had 23 points and 6 assists in the loss. Furthermore, he did not address the pregame incident in the postgame media scrum. This remains a developing story.
