Bobby Shmurda Gave A Reasonable Explanation For Turning Down A Drink At A Club Appearance

After nearly seven years, Bobby Shmurda was finally freed from prison on Tuesday. The rapper was welcomed with open arms by the entire music world including Meek Mill and Quavo. In just his first few days out, the rapper has spent much of his time in the spotlight. He even took some time to make a club appearance on Friday, and thanks to a video that was taken during the event, the rapper went viral after he turned down a drink he was offered.

After watching the video, fans shared their theories for why Bobby might not have wanted a drink at that moment, but only a few were right as the rapper gave an explanation on his Instagram story.

“Hell nah a n**** on parole,” he wrote in the post. Given that Bobby was freed from prison on a conditional release, it could be that one requirement of his parole is to refrain from consuming alcohol. The rapper also has no interest in risking a parole violation and possibly returning to jail as he expressed his wishes to stay free during a FaceTime call with Meek that was detailed in his profile with GQ.

“I’m done with that [jail] sh*t,” he said during the call. “I’ll be light-skinned in Jamaica before I go back.”

Another aspect of the video that caught fans’ attention was the fact that Bobby was wearing a mask in the club, something that we haven’t see too many celebrities do during their own events. As a result, they took to Twitter to share their reactions.

You can read them below and watch the video that caused it all above.

Meek Mill is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Kodak Black Shows Love To YNW Melly Amid #FreeMelly Debate

It’s been more than two years since YNW Melly was arrested for double homicide after he was accused of killing his two partners, YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser. YNW Melly is currently awaiting his trial in jail, but Bobby Shmurda’s release as well as Trump’s pardoning of Kodak Black have sparked a debate as to whether or not Melly should be released. While some fans want Melly to be released so the rapper can continue to make music, others are confident that he is responsible for the two killings and should rightfully remain in jail.

On Friday, Kodak Black took to Instagram to express his feelings about freeing Melly. A photo of Kodak and a fan wearing a #FreeMelly shirt was posted to Melly’s Instagram, likely by management or a friend.

Kodak also posted a series of photos to his own Instagram alongside the caption #FreeMelly, showing off his car, new clothes, and his girlfriend.

Kodak was released from prison on January 20th following a swift presidential pardon from Donald Trump. Trump pardoned a few other rappers, including Lil Wayne, before his presidential term was over, wiping their federal charges clean. While Kodak doesn’t have any more federal charges hanging over his head, he is still facing a sexual assault charge in South Carolina.

Do you think YNW Melly should be released? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Robert Downey Jr Still Open To Iron Man Return Despite “Avengers: Endgame” Death

Hearts all across the world broke in half as they watched Tony Stark pass away on screen as the final battle against Thanos ensued in Avengers: Endgame back in 2019. In an act of selflessness, the intelligent playboy’s sacrificial snap was a near-instant fatality. After previously claiming he’s done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it looks like Robert Downey Jr. may be going back on his word. In a new interview with GQ when asked about possibly returning, the 55-year-old didn’t exactly say no.

“Well… I have alighted, for now. Real world to save. But never say never,” Downey Jr. told the publication. Last year, he spoke to Joe Rogan about possibly returning to the MCU. “Is the door to Iron Man totally closed because I don’t believe it is? You guys can go through time now. You’ve already opened up that door,” Rogan asked the actor.

Downey Jr replied, “There would have to be a super compelling argument and a series of events that made it obvious… We all have to do what [Marvel Studios boss] Kevin Feige says.”

As mentioned previously, Tony Stark died at the end of Avengers Endgame. As the MCU moves into Phase 4, however, where they will focus more on the multiverse and time travel, which fans speculate could open gateways for Iron Man’s return.

Everything at this time is purely speculative, but this new information from Downey Jr. leaves room for hope for many MCU fans.

Shannon Sharpe Flexes Gorgeous Snakeskin “Lakers” Air Jordan 1

Shannon Sharpe has consistently been one of the biggest sneakerheads in the sports television world, which is a trait he shares with his co-host Skip Bayless. Sharpe is always showcasing his vast collection and the NFL Hall of Famer has some incredibly rare shoes to his name. The former Denver Broncos tight end typically posts his shoes prior to tapings of Undisputed and sometimes, you have no choice but to be in awe of what he is displaying.

Sharpe is also a massive fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and on Saturday, he acquired a pair of Air Jordan 1s that pay homage to his team. These shoes were created by The Shoe Surgeon, and as you can see, they are made with snakeskin and contain gold, purple, and white highlights.

Each shoe has a mismatched look to it, which keeps up with the signature “What The” line that Nike has perfected over the years. This pair truly sparkles without even trying and we can only imagine what these would look like when paired with a Lakers jersey.

The Shoe Surgeon charges quite a bit for his creations, so we’re sure Sharpe had to shell out a few dollars to acquire these. Regardless, with Sharpe’s love of the Lakers in mind, this is money well spent.

Victoria Monét Welcomes Her First Child

Victoria Monét shocked fans at the tail end of last year when she revealed she was expecting a child with her boyfriend John Gaines. Seemingly well-along with the pregnancy when she announced it, it did not come as a complete shock to fans when she revealed on Friday, February 26th that she’s officially a mother now. The “Monopoly” singer had welcomed a baby girl named Hazel Monét Gaines on February 21st.

“Mommy and Daddy love you so much!!!” Monét penned in the caption of the big reveal. John shared the same photo to his Instagram page, adding a sweet message to his partner for good measure. “I love you [Victoria Monét],” he wrote in the caption. “Thank you for the best early birthday gift I could ask for.”

In addition to the posts on both of her parents’ social media pages, Hazel has already earned a small following on her own under the Instagram handle @thebabymonet. She only follows two people (her mom and dad), but over 5,000 users have followed the account to “watch her grow.”

Plenty congratulated the songstress on giving birth including Sam Smith and Lauren Jauregui, who both left warm comments for the new mom.

She announced the pregnancy in a breathtaking maternity shoot back in December. “Two hearts beat inside of me now,” she penned at the time. “That’s more love. Two brains and two souls...that’s so much power. Really been feelin like the ultra super Victoria cause my body is doing such miraculous work. This is absolutely the best thing that has ever happened to me and I can’t wait to meet my tiny soul mate earth side!!!”

She released the first part of her critically acclaimed debut project Jaguar last summer, which was praised by music critics for its lyrics and sonic direction.

Pop Smoke & NBA Youngboy Hold Down This Week’s “Fire Emoji” Playlist

The past few weeks have been filled with great releases. In fact, February’s been a solid overall month when it comes to new music. We received new music from Conway, Kevin Gates, Jim Jones, and Pooh Shiesty, to name a few. This week is no different. Some massive drops arrived on Friday and as usual, we’ve highlighted everything that should be on your radar for this week’s Fire Emoji playlist. Here’s the breakdown:

We recently passed the one-year anniversary of Pop Smoke’s tragic death. The Canarsie rapper’s name continues to live on but unfortunately, he never had the chance to tap into his full potential. The success of Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon was confirmation that he would’ve been a global superstar if he had been here. The rapper’s set to make his posthumous acting debut in Boogie. Yesterday, his song “AP” was released as part of the soundtrack. It was a no-brainer to include this one on our “Fire Emoji” update this week.

In addition to new music from Pop Smoke, we also included some new heat from NBA Youngboy who recently released “Toxic Punk” as well as Key Glock’s “I’m The Type.”

Darius Rucker Calls Post Malone’s Hootie & The Blowfish Cover “Awesome”

On Saturday, Post Malone is going to hold a virtual concert to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. Fans were certainly shocked by this collaboration as it doesn’t seem the two things have much in common, but it got even more shocking when Post revealed one of the songs he’d be performing was a cover of “Only Wanna Be With You” by Hootie & The Blowfish. According to the Pokémon Company, “the song will be included as part of Post’s headlining appearance.”

Fans responded well to the cover, and it’s certainly an updated and quite enchanting version of a 90s classic. However, no one responded better to the release than Darius Rucker, lead vocalist and guitarist of Hootie & The Blowfish.

“The smile in my face will not leave for a long time,” wrote Rucker in a Tweet on Thursday. “This is awesome. My bro@PostMalone bringing it. Hell yes man!!!!!!!!!”

The artist raved even more about the cover in an interview with Variety. “It’s awesome to see that a song we wrote almost 30 years ago continues to resonate as it really speaks to the lasting life a song can have when people connect with it. I love seeing someone like Post put his own spin on it like he does with everything he records.”

Listen to the cover below, and check out Post Malone’s performance on Saturday at 7PM ET.

Amber Heard Has Been Fired From Jason Momoa’s “Aquaman 2”

Popcorned Planet has confirmed that Amber Heard has been fired from Aquaman 2 after rumors surfaced that she was being replaced by Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke. According to an inside source, Heard was fired by Warner Bros after failing to comply with some health clauses. Popcorned Planet also confirmed that Emilia Clarke was not replacing Heard, and that it’s currently unknown who will take over her role in the film.

After the release of 2018’s Aquaman, a sequel was quickly taken up for discussion by Warner Bros. James Wan, an infamous director in the horror movie genre, was chosen to direct the sequel after having immense success with the franchise’s first entry. Jason Momoa and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will reprise their roles as Aquaman and Black Manta respectively. Warner Bros has not yet announced a female lead. As of right now, the film is slated for release on December 16th, 2022.

The news about Amber Heard’s removal from the film comes amid another postponement of a trial date for her and Johnny Depp for Depp’s $50 million defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife. The trial has now been rescheduled to April 11th and is expected to last for about two weeks while the court deliberates the events between the two ex-spouses.
