Kodak Black Wants His Credit: “Stop Playing, Lil Baby”

Kodak Black has long been known to influence the rap game. While he may not always get the credit he deserves, like for popularizing the term “broccoli” when referring to weed, or being among the first to use the acronym for “WAP”, Kodak knows that he’s the leading man in a lot of these trends.

Now that he’s out of prison, the Florida-based rapper has been keeping busy. He’s been releasing a lot of new music, promising even more, and making a huge imprint on social media. On Monday, the rapper decided to ask for his deserved respect, but it came in a video where he singles out Lil Baby for his lyrics in “Finesse Out The Gang Way”.

“I was just listening to my boy Lil Baby’s song. He was on my dawg Lil Durk’s song. He said, ‘Posting money on the ‘Gram, I invented that’ or some crazy sh*t like that,” said Yak. “Stop playing, Lil Baby. This was in 2016. Spread game too nasty.”

In the video, Kodak shows a video of him spreading out hundred-dollar bills on his arms and legs five years ago. The trend has started picking up in recent weeks and while Kodak claims he’s not being petty or dissing Lil Baby, he says he just wants his credit. “This just a matter of fact! I ain’t dissing nobody, ion even know y’all,” he wrote. “I’m just saying and this not to say the respect level ain’t on either side, but you know…”

He clarified that he has no bad blood with Baby, saying, “Before y’all think a n***a being petty, I don’t give a f*ck about none of this sh*t, man,” he said. “I ain’t married to none of these anthems. This sh*t ain’t about nothing. I’m really just putting this sh*t out there. Y’all let me have my sh*t, man. Y’all know y’all f*cked up about me. Y’all know I’m a big influence to you n***as. Y’all like putting the respect on my sh*t.”

Do you think Kodak Black deserves credit for spreading his money on the ‘Gram?

Kobe Bryant Ticket Signature From Final Game Hits Auction Block

Kobe Bryant memorabilia has been surging in price over the last year. Since his tragic passing, fans have been looking to get their hands on as much Kobe material as possible, and it is easy to see why. With the prices surging, many believe these pieces are long-term investments that will only become more valuable as time goes by. For the most part, this is probably sound thinking, especially with the NFT crazes that have been happening as of late.

The latest piece of Kobe memorabilia to sell for a high price comes straight from the final game of his career. Just a few months ago, a piece of signed hardcourt from that game sold in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, and now, a signed ticket from the game has sold for $40,590, according to sports business reporter Darren Rovell.

Once again, it was Goldin Auction who was able to sell the piece, and it seems like even more Kobe memorabilia will be sold soon. If you have any sort of mementos that are related to the star, chances are you can make some pretty good money from them.

Over the coming months and years, it will be interesting to see what kind of momentum the memorabilia market continues to generate.

Russ’s Time Runs Out In His Metaphorical ‘Hard For Me’ Video

Russ’s high-concept “Hard For Me” video looks like something out of a spy thriller. Directed by Joán, the video depicts Russ trying — and failing — to break the female lead out of a transparent cell as a computer screen on the glass warns that the oxygen within is depleting. After the first verse ends with Russ’s female interest lying on the floor after the oxygen runs out, the second verse reverses their roles; now, Russ is the one trapped. However, this time his coldhearted consort simply watches him struggle until his time runs out.

As a metaphor for a one-sided relationship, the video is a fitting reflection of the song’s lyrics, in which Russ recalls the dissolution of his relationship with a lover with whom he can’t see eye-to-eye. “Tired of goin’ hard for people who don’t go hard for me,” he croons on the hook. “If I go hard for you, please go hard for me.”

The video is Russ’s third of 2021, although the song itself dates back to December of 2020. It seems that after focusing on bars-first battle raps on his Chomp EP, he’s returning to emotionally vulnerable fare like “Hard For Me” and “Misunderstood,” as well as celebratory anthems such as “Ugly” with Lil Baby.

Air Jordan 5 “Jade Horizon” Coming This Year: First Look

Air Jordan 5 lovers had a wonderful year in 2020 as the shoe celebrated its 30th anniversary with a ton of retros and even some new colorways. In 2021, Jordan Brand appears to be committed to keeping the fun alive, as they have announced various other Jordan 5 colorways. One of those models is the Air Jordan 5 “Stealth 2.0” and now, thanks to @zsneakerheadz on Instagram, we have just been made privy to yet another new offering, this time called “Jade Horizon.”

As you can see in the photoshop rendering below, this new sneaker has a bit of a Travis Scott type flair to it. The shoe has a mostly light green nubuck upper to it, all while pink can be found on the tongue as well as the midsole. From there, we have a silver reflective tongue and a black midsole that is contrasted with an icy blue outsole. It’s certainly a unique colorway although we fully expect a polarizing reaction from some fans as this model goes beyond the norm.

A rumored release date has been set for December 4th although a lot can change between now and the next nine months. With this in mind, keep it locked to HNHH as we will be sure to bring you all of the latest updates on these.

Jay Critch Releases New Single “Go Wherever”

Jay Critch hasn’t gone pop or sold his soul. He’s remained true to being the Hood Favorite, as he asserted on his 2018 debut. Unfortunately, his dealings with Rich Forever haven’t necessarily worked in his favor but he’s been steadily growing the Talk Money Ent. label where he released 2020’s Signed With Love

It appears that Jay Critch is keeping the momentum going into 2021. This weekend, the rapper returned with his latest single, “Go Wherever.” He dabbles deeper into the melodies on this record as taps into his pain with some self-reflection of how far he’s come in the game.

We’re excited to hear what Jay Critch has up his sleeves for the remainder of the year. Hopefully, there’s a new project set to arrive in the future.

Quotable Lyrics
He caught a case after school
Judge ain’t dismiss it
Bail 350 thou and he ain’t got no digits
Where is everyone now when it comes down to business
We bailed him out, he went back in the system

REI AMI & Aminé Connect For “Do It Right”

Maryland melodist REI AMI has returned with her new single “Do It Right,” which finds her tapping in with Aminé for the intimate and reflective duet. Over a vibey instrumental fueled by the twang of guitar chords, REI’s airy vocals open up as the bass slides into the mix. “It’s about everything it feels to be in a relationship,” explains the singer, in an official press release. “It’s about when you’re so deeply in love with somebody you kind of lose a sense of yourself and also the mental battle of being in a toxic relationship.”

While he’s certainly capable of bringing an animated presence to any track he blesses, Aminé opts to scale things back for this one, matching REI’s introspective energy. “I’m rolling up this J, cause I don’t do pipes,” he reflects. “It’s a lonely day, it’s got me stuck tonight / this ain’t just a phase, I feel it in my bones and all / got me feeling like I need alcohol.” Despite the breezy exterior, there are certainly darker themes at play, and it’s certainly interesting to see how everything comes together.

Check out REI AMI and Aminé’s emotionally-charged duet “Do It Right” here, and sound off in the comments with your thoughts.

Kanye West’s Ex-Bodyguard Is Creating An “Explosive” Documentary

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s relationship has dwindled over the years, leading to their divorce. While Kanye West’s mental health has been at the center of concern, it’s also been the subject of KUWTK in the past. However, it seems like a former bodyguard to Kanye West is attempting to capitalize off of his time with ‘Ye as streaming services are rushing to create documentaries on the rapper, according to Page Six.

The documentaries are reportedly set to center around Kanye West’s former bodyguard, ex-NYPD officer Steve Stanulis, for a real-life 48 Hours-type project. “Two studios approached me,” Stanulis said. “They see this as a ’48 Hours’ for real, or a ‘Lethal Weapon’ for real,” he said, referring to the famous buddy movies of the ’80s. “It comes from my mouth, I worked with [West] two separate times.”

It seems a tad dramatic but Stanulis was around ‘Ye in 2016, at Met Gala where Kanye West allegedly walked into the wrong hotel room of an Italian dignitary where a brawl almost broke out, as well as during the infamous SNL meltdown. Stanulis said there are other former cops who worked for Kanye West that would share never-before-heard stories about working with ‘Ye.

You might want to take both of these apparent documentaries with a grain of salt, though. ‘Ye and Stanulis have gone at it over the past few years with the rapper-producer-designer previously threatening to sue his former bodyguard for “false and defamatory” statements. We’ll see how this pans out.

Victor Oladipo Reportedly Garnering Interest From Golden State

Victor Oladipo is a name that has been making a lot of noise this season. After being traded to the Houston Rockets, his new team has struggled mightily, and it’s clear that things simply aren’t working between him and John Wall. As a result, there have been a ton of trade rumors over the last little while, and numerous teams have been joining the fray.

According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, it appears as though the Golden State Warriors would be interested in Oladipo. The Warriors are hovering around the final playoff spots in the Western Conference, and they could use some extra help if they truly want to go out and make a splash at the end of the year. The team has draft picks to give, which helps the Rockets who seem to be in a state of limbo.

Per The Ringer:

“League sources say the Warriors have interest in acquiring Rockets guard Victor Oladipo.”

“Golden State would not have the cap space to pursue him this summer, so the time to pounce would be now. Houston can’t demand too much in a deal given Oladipo has underwhelmed and will become an unrestricted free agent.”

“Plus, Golden State wouldn’t have a whole lot to offer. Because of picks owed elsewhere, the Warriors are able to deal up to just two first-round picks: one from 2021 (via Minnesota) or 2022, and one from 2026 or 2027.”

With the deadline coming up at the end of the month, trade rumors will be plentiful, so keep it locked to HNHH as we will be sure to bring you all of the latest updates.
