Roddy Ricch Shares Details On Next Album

“The Box” took over the globe, propelling Roddy Ricch to become hip-hop’s latest star. The success of the single, as well as his debut album, Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial, made him Compton’s next-up, and he’s been carrying the torch with pride. However, the release of “Heartless” that he debuted at the Grammys offered a promising glimpse into his sophomore release.

During a recent interview with Complex, the rapper went into detail about the direction he’s heading next that he describes as “more vulnerable” than his previous work. “I’m going to bring fans into my world more,” he said of the project. “I’m learning the balance. Like, OK, I’m not on Instagram, so I feel like I’ve got to bring them into my life more so they can feel me a little more.”

He added that he’s striving to bring it “back to the basics.” “There are all the old fans I had when I first started rapping, and these new fans that I got since the big album and Grammys and everything. So I want to bridge the gap between my old fans and my new fans. That’s what I’m on a mission to do with this next situation that I’m working on,” he said.

He didn’t confirm whether the next project is a continuation of the Feed The Streets series, even though he and his team have been teasing the third installment as his next release. “I feel like when the streets is hungry, you just feed them,” he said about details on his next project.

Burna Boy Advocates For The Power Of Self-Belief In His Inspirational ’23’ Video

After being shut out at last year’s Grammy Awards, Nigerian superstar Burna Boy is officially a Grammy Award winner after taking home the statue for Best Global Music Album (Twice As Tall) at the 2021 63rd Annual Grammy Awards earlier this month. To celebrate, he has released the inspirational video for his Twice As Tall standout “23.”

Naturally taking inspiration from its iconic namesake, much of the “23” video revolves around the sport of basketball, as seen through the eyes of athletes who are ordinarily invisible: Black women. One of the players the video chooses to highlight is wheelchair-bound, but poses in front of a full case of trophies.

Other women who appear in the video are dancers, designers, and music producers — all fields where Black women are underrepresented — while Burna’s performance sequences play out before projected images of his own accomplishments. “The music make me feel I be Jordan,” he croons on the chorus, encouraging listeners to be the best they can through the life-changing power of self-belief. “Now I understand why them say aiye po gan” — “Now I understand why they say there’s enough space” — he says, highlighting how there is room for everyone to be successful.

Kodak Black Deletes His Instagram

Despite having been previously active on Instagram following his release from prison, it would appear that Kodak Black has since deleted his page entirely.

What initially began as a purge of all activity, as captured by a post from Akademiks, currently leads to a complete absence of Kodak’s IG page. It’s unclear as to what drove the young artist, who has been growing increasingly frustrated at a perceived lack of credit, to delete one of his most-frequented platforms.

Of course, Instagram alteration often tends to coincide with the release of new music, and many have been eagerly anticipating a new project from Kodak; his last release arrived in late 2018 with Dying To Live, a project that received acclaim upon its release. It’s also possible that he simply sought to escape from the public eye following the arrest of NBA YoungBoy, which happened to be among the last topics he discussed on his former page.

Though many will likely speculate on Kodak’s decision, it’s likely we’ll have to wait and see until the Floridian resurfaces. We can only hope that he’s turning his focus to the music, as many have been eager to see him picking up where he left off prior to his last incarceration. Stay tuned for further updates on Kodak’s mysterious Instagram deletion as the situation unfolds.

Cardi B Goes Off On Haters Diminishing Her Achievements

Cardi B is known for going on Instagram and ranting about whatever is on her mind. And even as her fame increases seemingly by the day, she has yet to let us down when it comes to ranting. Yesterday, she did just that, posting a nearly-four minute video about how people lie about wanting women to succeed, when in actuality they don’t.

Cardi declared, “Y’all be claiming when females do good, that y’all be wanting females to strive and all of that, but that’s a lie you be hating.” She continued, “Y’all like to bring all these excuses for my success. I want to let y’all know this right now.”

Expanding on her success, Cardi felt the need to let her viewers know about her record-breaking amount of U.S. streams last week with her controversy-loving song “Up.”

Cardi has always been a focus point for haters ever since she’s made her debut as a rapper, and thus she’s always been on the defensive when it comes to the public acknowledging her achievements, instead of downplaying them. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper then went on to discuss different charts and read different articles about her success, to prove to those naysayers that she should be a celebrated artist. “The more hate ya’ll think, the harder I get. Stop hating,” she said.

Cardi also wanted to make it known that she’s not trying to put other female artists down in order to build herself up. “When I win it doesn’t take away from the other women’s success either. When another female wins it doesn’t take away from anyone’s success, so stop crying.”

“Y’all love saying now a days people’s music is only on Tik Tok. I’m glad Tik Tok came out because now yall love to make excuses for when people win, but Tik Tok goes to show you that general public actually fu*king like your song,” continued Cardi, touching on why she likes TikTok. “When you see a b*tch bussin it open on top of your car. When you see celebrities doing challenges and sh*t to your song, that means people are listening to your sh*t. That ain’t no bots, that ain’t no label, that’s people. That’s real sh*t stop hatin.”

Cardi ended the video by thanking her fans, but also thanking conservatives for talking about her Grammy performance. “Thank you conservatives for talking mad sh*t about my Grammy performance, that actually made people go to check my Grammy’s out and make it even bigger.”
