Young Thug Says He Won $5,000 From Another Rapper Betting That Tekashi 69 Would Snitch

During Young Thug’s recent second appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast, the Atlanta trap mad scientist covered a lot of topics, from clearing the air regarding his Jay-Z Verzuz comments to recalling a bet he made with a peer over whether the notorious Tekashi 69 would testify against his former comrades in the Nine Trey Bloods set.

It turns out, it was a pretty safe, “friendly” bet (in Young Thug’s words), as Tekashi did eventually end up testifying for a reduced sentence — a move that benefitted him personally, but left him essentially persona non grata among rap peers who believe he violated street code. Although Thug himself doesn’t subscribe to this belief, he said he simply believes in loyalty and was brought up not to spill his friends’ secrets.

Detailing the bet itself, Thug refused to share who it was with (see above), but still shared enough to back up the story. “I can’t say his name, but I bet another rapper,” he recalled. “I don’t know where he from. I think the West Coast…. bet another rapper that 6ix9ine [would] tell before he told. I’m like, ‘He gon’ tell.’ Me and him bet a friendly $5,000…. I bet $5,000 that he’d tell and he bet $5,000 that nothing is gonna happen to him. I bet $5,000 that something was gonna happen to him, too. I don’t know why I had that belief. I really believed he gon’ think he gangsta, he gon’ try to step out, and somebody gon’ do somethin’. Even if it’s on some humble sh*t.”

Of course, to date, nothing serious has happened to Tekashi, although he’s kept up his trollish antics. Part of that may be due to the pandemic that shut down most public life over the past year and part of it may be due to the security guards he seemingly has around him at all times, but either way, it looks like Thug only gets to collect on half that bet for the time being. Considering he recently claimed to have lost nearly a million dollars in one night in Vegas, maybe he should consider leaving the gambling to the professionals.

Nicki Minaj Is Back On Instagram, Rocking Black Bikini & Chanel Head-To-Toe

Nicki Minaj’s return has been swift and plentiful. The rapper hadn’t made a peep for some time, focusing on the birth of her newborn son, but decided it was the right time to shake things up again with a comeback this past Friday. This comeback was also a throwback, as it were, because Young Money’s first lady decided to take us back to her heyday and release her breakthrough mixtape, Beam Me Up Scotty, to streaming services.

And while not every original mixtape record made the streaming service tracklist version, she off-set this dilemma with some new music, too, for good measure. “Seeing Green” featuring her label cohorts Drake and Lil Wayne, proved to be the icing on the cake, and remains heavily-discussed since the Friday drop.

Nonetheless, beyond just the music, Nicki’s return has also revived her social media presence– she hadn’t posted a thing on her IG for months, and since the release of new music, has been sharing on her Instagram or twitter basically daily. New photos of Nicki had been hard to come by after she gave birth, but now she seems ready to show off her post-baby bawdy, stepping out in a black bikini, alongside a stack of other accessories, in her latest post.

In an homage to her single title, Nicki rocked her double C’s alongside her “Barbie” chain and a small selection of other jewlery for good measure (and by “small selection” we mean: anklets, bracelets, waist-lets (is that a thing?), earrings, rings, and even her Crocs got some of their own gems).

Check out her recent poses for the Gram below. Let us know if you here for the Nicki comeback. Azealia Banks certainly is not.

Man Dies In Jail After Leading Police In Car Chase To Rick Ross’ Mansion: Report

Recently, Rick Ross’ sprawling property in Atlanta made the news, although not for any particular doing on the rapper’s part. An unknown man had apparently led the police on a chase that culminated in Rozay’s driveaway essentially, unbeknownst to the MMG artist. It’s unclear where Ross was at the time this wild chase occurred.

Now, more details have arrived concerning the man’s identity as well as what’s happened to him. Unfortunately, it’s being reported that the 40-year old man behind the police chase, Chaka Stewart, has died while in police custody. The man was reportedly in his cell in Clayton County Jail when a guard doing rounds noticed he was seemingly unresponsive, lying on the floor. Both a medic and the guard attempted to revive to him, to no avail.

The police reportedly state that no foul play is suspected, although an autopsy is being conducted. Nonetheless, Stewart’s mother, Jacqueline Gordon, reportedly begs to differ. She states that last she spoke to her son, on Friday, he said he was being mistreated, including being beaten as well as being forced in his cell for 23 hours out of the day, unable to shower. She also says that one of the Georgia authorities told her son that he would never be getting out of jail.

This story is developing, and we’ll provide updates when more are available.

T.I. & Tiny Cleared In Las Vegas Sexual Assault Investigation: Report

Over the past few months, some heavy allegations against T.I. and Tiny have come to light. The couple has faced multiple accusations of sexual abuse from various women. Last night, it was reported that the LAPD has launched an investigation into the allegations of abuse, rape, and drugging. One of the alleged victims filed a police report against T.I. last month.

The alleged victim, who is identified as Jane Doe, claimed that she met the couple at a nightclub in 2005 and returned to their hotel room with them. She alleged that T.I. gave her a drink before feeling increasingly sick as she found herself naked in the shower and in the bed with T.I. and Tiny.

In April, it was reported that two different women came forward with claims that they trafficked and raped them. Both of the allegations stem from incidents that took place in 2010.

According to TMZ, at least one of the cases from 2010 has been closed. A woman claimed she was drugged and assaulted by the couple after meeting Tiny at the airport. Officials said that the investigation has been closed since the report was filed last month and the incident falls outside of the statute of limitations.

T.I. nor Tiny have issued any statements regarding the recent allegations. We will keep you posted on any more updates.

Rory & Mal Appear To Have A New Podcast On The Way

The downfall of Joe Budden is seemingly underway, kicking off with his rift with his now-former podcast hosts, Rory and Mal. It began after Joe essentially told Rory to take some time off from the “pod” after tension grew on set which Budden claimed to be unaware of. Rory and Mal’s return to the show was short-lived since Joe announced that the former had officially been fired on the episode.

Things have certainly not been working in Joe’s favor ever since but it seems that Rory and Mal are taking their chemistry to form their own podcast. Over the weekend, fans received a taste of what a Rory & Mal podcast can look like after they released an hour-plus long response to Joe Budden. In the episode, they discussed their issues stemming from accounting and credit for building the podcast from the ground.

No one really knew what exactly the two would have in store for the future but it seems that they will be forming their own platform. Mal took to Instagram where he unveiled what appears to be artwork for their own podcast, presumably titled, New Rory & Mal. He didn’t elaborate any further than using an orange and money bag emoji in the caption.

We’ll keep you posted on any more updates on the first episode of their podcast. Will you be tuning in? Sound off in the comments.

T-Pain Wants To Make You A Drink With His New Book Of Cocktail Recipes

For nearly 15 years now, T-Pain‘s been primarily recognized by his signature hit, “Buy U A Drank(Shawty Snappin’).” The song, which reached the No.1 spot on the Hot 100 in May 2007 and was sampled in T-Pain’s latest single, “I Like Dat” featuring Kehlani, has since seen a recent resurgence thanks to its popularity on TikTok. Therefore, it’s no surprise that it formed the inspiration for T-Pain’s latest endeavor: a book of cocktail recipes, cheekily titled Can I Mix You A Drink?

Written with the input of God Save The Queens author Kathy Iandoli and mixologist Maxwell Britten, the title bills the book as 50 cocktail recipes from T-Pain’s life and career. T-Pain told Billboard, “Years back, I got up with my friend, [author] Kathy Iandoli, and told her I wanted to do some innovative s–t, so this was a concept we had in mind for a while, where I could combine my music with my love of drinking. She and I worked on this for a while, and then we both were busy with other stuff, then we came back together and finished this up.”

Can I Mix You a Drink? is due September 14, 2021, and is available for pre-order in both hardcover and Kindle editions here.

The Roots’ Questlove And Black Thought Are Teaming With Disney Junior For An Animated Short Series

Questlove and Black Thought both keep themselves plenty busy outside of The Roots, and now the pair is teaming up for yet another new endeavor. This time, it’s Rise Up, Sing Out, a series of animated shorts they’re making with Disney Junior.

The series, which is set to premiere later in 2021, will feature music from the pair. Press materials describe the show, “Presenting important concepts around race, racism and social justice for the youngest viewers, the series consists of music-based shorts that are designed to provide an inspiring and empowering message about noticing and celebrating differences and providing a framework for conversation.”

In a joint statement, Questlove and Black Thought said, “It is an honor to work with the Disney Junior team to help create a series of shorts that will empower and uplift the future generations in the way we know best, through music. We hope these shorts will encourage the young audience to recognize and celebrate our differences as human beings while learning the tools to navigate real-world issues of racial injustice.”

Joe D’Ambrosia — senior vice president, Original Programming and general manager, Disney Junior — also said, “We recognize that many kids are experiencing a multitude of feelings around what’s happening in our world today and know that many families are struggling with how to discuss sensitive issues around race. Our goal with these shorts is to open up the conversation and provide families with the tools and knowledge to address these important topics with their preschoolers in an age-appropriate manner through music and relatable kid experiences.”
