For the past 15+ years, Raheem DeVaughn has been blessing our ears with sweet harmonies. The singer blessed us towards the end of 2020 with his latest body of work, What A Time To Be In Love which was largely in collaboration with The Colleagues. Now, he’s getting ready to drop another album. This time, it’s in collaboration with Apollo Brown. The pair are readying the release of LoveSick this summer and unveiled their brand new single, “Zaddy” ft. 3D Na’Tee. It’s a sultry R&B jam that offers notes of nostalgia. However, its 3D Na’tee’s quick flow and sharp bars that cap the song off on a high note with a much-needed perspective of a woman.

Erica Mena Blasts Marriage & Pregnancy Critics: “Disgusting Souls”

Twenty-four hours after announcing that she’s expecting Baby No. 2, Erica Mena is addressing the negativity she’s been receiving online. The Love & Hip Hop star is used to taking hits on social media and having people weigh in with their opinions regarding her marriage to Safaree Samuels, but every so often she hops on her Instagram Story to speak directly to her critics. 

Mena stated that she’s been in a “relaxing and peaceful” space, but she was surprised at how many people left hateful comments about her pregnancy and marriage.

“Granted, there’s been mistakes made, immaturely, but a marriage is a marriage,” she said of her relationship with Safaree. “And unfortunately, there’s been mishaps. In any marriage, sh*t happens. When you’re in the public eye, my husband and I have both realized that things should be kept in. But outside of that, we’re talking about a blessing here but you guys are trying to be so negative and nasty about it that it really makes me pray. Like, you guys are such nasty and disgusting souls.”

She added that there are people who call her relationship “toxic” but when Mena visits her critics’ pages, they’re no better. “Half of you guys can’t keep a man let alone get married,” she added. “Vice versa for the men. How dare you? If you don’t have nothing nice to say, just keep it moving. We’re talking about life, here. Life is short and you guys are trying to find something disgusting to say about new life?”

2020 was a quiet year for R&B singer Rochelle Jordan but she made sure the wait for new music was well worth it. Each month since the beginning of the year, Jordan offered brand new singles like, “Something,” “Next 2 You,” “All Along,” and “Got Em.” Finally, she’s unveiled her new project Play With Changes in its entirety. The 12-track finds Jordan embracing electronic, UK Garage-influenced sounds infused into her own string of R&B.

J. Cole’s Upcoming Album, ‘The Off-Season,’ Is His ‘Best Sh*t To Date,’ According To Dreamville’s Cozz

At long last, the world finally received a release date for J. Cole’s next album: The Off-Season, which the rapper has been teasing since late last year, will arrive next week, on May 14. Cole shared the news on his social media accounts, and he also revealed the album’s artwork: an image of him standing in front of a burning basketball hoop. While everyone else has to wait, the rapper’s labelmates are already letting people know what to expect before it arrives.

Hours after J. Cole made the announcement, Cozz, who’s also signed to Dreamville Records, took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the forthcoming release. “From what I’ve heard so far this cole best sh*t to date,” he wrote. His comments come after labelmate Bas hinted at the album’s impending arrival in a now-deleted Instagram post, writing, “pack your bags. [rocket emoji] in two weeks.”

The road to The Off-Season dates back to Cole’s 2018 album, KOD, which is when he revealed that he already had a name for his subsequent effort. It was originally teased for a 2020 release, but the year came and went without its arrival. In December, he shared a to-do list that featured The Off-Season as something he wants to complete before releasing its follow-up, The Fall Off.

Tristan Thompson Accuser Denies Receiving Cease & Desist: “False Information”

It seemed as if Tristan Thompson and Khloé Kardashian were putting their drama behind them but things took a turn in recent weeks. The Jordyn Woods scandal caused the couple to break up for a time, but they reportedly reconciled and there were even rumors that Tristan and Khloé were planning Baby No. 2. However, a woman named Sydney Chase appeared with allegations that she recently had sex with the basketball star.

A report by TMZ claims that Tristan isn’t taking the accusations lightly and has his legal team on deck. Thompson reportedly denies that he has been involved with the Instagram model and sent her a cease and desist letter, but Chase states that she hasn’t received any paperwork.

Chase claims that she has text messages to prove her case, but Thompson’s attorney, Marty Singer, tells TMZ that the accusations are “malicious defamatory fabrications.” He added, “Mr. Thompson had no relationship with you whatsoever and he never sent you any such texts… It is obvious that you are a liar.”

The cease and desist letter reportedly ends with a legal threat, telling Chase that if she continues “you do so at your peril since you may find yourself in court attempting to defend your indefensible misconduct.” Meanwhile, Chase took to her Instagram Story to deny that she was sent any letter.

“I have not received a cease & desist from anyone,” she wrote. “The articles are giving false information. Let this be a lesson to not let anyone no matter the money or fame they have. To shut you down or tarnish your name.” People have criticized chase, especially after it was shared that she was reportedly involved in a reality television show.

DJ Khaled Brings Lil Durk & Lil Baby Together For “Every Chance I Get” Video

DJ Khaled is averaging one music video a day at this point. Fresh off of the release of KHALED KHALED, which is expected to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 next week, the Miami vet has continued to flood the streets with new visuals that it seems he’s turning around quite rapidly. On Friday, Khaled revealed footage of himself, Lil Baby, and Lil Durk on the set for the music video for “EVERY CHANCE I GET” which he has now unveiled in full. The electrifying visuals were shot by the legendary Joseph Khan who brings Khaled, Durk and Baby together on a fiery surrounded by women and foreign cars.

The latest offering from DJ Khaled arrives after he released the music video for “THANKFUL” ft. Jeremih and Lil Wayne. 

The new collaboration from Durk and Baby is hopefully a taste of what we could expect from their forthcoming collaborative album, The Voice Of The Heroes. The two rappers have been teasing the project heavily and letting fans know that they’re locked away in the studio working on it.

Maeta Unveils Her Latest Project “Habits”

Indianapolis native Maeta has been an artist to keep an eye out for since 2019’s Do Not Disturb. Fast forward two years later, and she’s proven precisely why with the major label debut Habits. The R&B star’s latest project is seven songs in length with appearances from Buddy, BEAM, and Leven Kali. Habits also boasts production from Kaytranada, Skrillex, Mustard, and more. 

“Habits is about everything that comes with being in a toxic relationship – love, anger, sex, growth, self-esteem,” Maeta said of the project in a statement. “I was finding my way through one during the making of this project, so it was like therapy for me during that time. I’m so excited for everyone to hear this project, and my hope is that people connect with the music and feel uplifted, healed, and understood.”

One day after sharing he’s in the “worst shape” of his life, Will Smith is back with an explanation. The beloved actor often shares intimate details about his personal life and he recently got candid about his quarantine weight gain. Like millions of others, Smith packed on a few pounds while locked down under quarantine, so he has decided to inspire by sharing his journey into getting back to his fit bod. 

On Tuesday (May 4), Smith uploaded another photo of his 2021 physique and posed wearing nothing but boxer briefs. In the caption, Smith explained that his journey isn’t about looking better, but feeling healthier.

“This is the body that carried me through an entire pandemic and countless days grazing thru the pantry,” wrote Smith. “I love this body, but I wanna FEEL better. No more midnight muffins…this is it! Imma get in the BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE!!!!! Teaming up with @YouTube to get my health & wellness back on track. Hope it works!”

In the comments to his post, Diplo added, “This is staged.. Your gonna have abs in like 3 days.” YouTube reportedly describes the series as being about Smith “rebuilding his body into the best shape of his life and getting his groove back along the way.” According to CNN, it’s tentatively titled Best Shape of My Life.
