He regularly smokes cigarettes onstage and comedians have joked about having psychedelic, mushroom and marijuana parties at his estate with famous friends like Tiffany Haddish and Chris Rock, so it’s not too far off for Dave Chappelle to cop weed from another celebrity. Prior to some of our favorite stars becoming household names, they had odd jobs to make ends meet. Kanye West worked at the Gap, Nicki Minaj was a waitress at Red Lobster, Jim Carrey was a janitor, Kid Cudi worked at a grocery store, Johnny Depp did telemarketing, Rick Ross was a corrections officer, Channing Tatum was an exotic dancer, and Tyler, The Creator spent years as a Starbucks barista.

Idris Elba, according to Dave Chappelle, was a bouncer who was also making a few extra bucks hustling on the side.

Chappelle recently sat down with The Joe Rogan Experience and spoke about people in the service industry deserving much more respect and kindness than many people give. “Idris Elba, the famous actor, used to be a security guard at Caroline’s,” said Chappelle of the New York City comedy club. “I used to buy weed from him.”

Two Black students were removed from their classroom at a school in Oklahoma, Friday, for wearing “Black Lives Matter” shirts.

Eight-year-old Ben Stapleton and his five-year-old brother were held in the principal’s office and missed recess, lunch, and weekly tutoring for sporting the BLM shirts. Stapleton was called out by his P.E. teacher during gym class for the outfit.

“They pulled me out of P.E. and told me to put my shirt inside out and then I started playing,” Ben told Fox’s local affiliate.

Their mother, Jordan Herbert, lambasted the school district for the action.

“Y’all know he knows nothing about politics or his rights, so y’all make him turn it inside out because you don’t like it,” Herbert said.

Superintendent Kim Holland defended the school’s decision saying that school is not the place for politics.

“I understand what she is saying, but school is not the place to have all that, y’know political back and forth and upheaval,” Holland said. “We’re trying to be more neutral in the school and be advocates for all of our children in what they need.”

“Allow my kid to express how his life matters, that’s it, that’s all,” Herbert stated.

In recent months, the focus of Yaya Mayweather’s online presence has focused primarily on her newborn, Kentrell Gaulden Jr. The 20-year-old daughter of Floyd Mayweather has been in an on-again-off-again relationship with NBA YoungBoy, and the pair welcomed their son back in January. However, it was just over a year ago when reports surfaced that Yaya had been arrested after attacking a woman, later identified as Lapattra Jacobs, while at YoungBoy’s home. The latter was also in a relationship with the rapper and it seems that the two ladies were at odds.

Yaya stood accused of stabbing Lapattra and was officially charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. It’s reported that if convicted, Yaya could face prison time that would extend to the remainder of her life. Lapattra Jacobs was rushed to the hospital following the alleged spat and underwent emergency surgery, and now she’s returned to social media to share that had it not been for that altercation, she would still be in a relationship with YoungBoy.

“He’s still young. He ain’t ready to settle down. In my mind—and I know ’cause I’m older than him, so I know a young person that’s ready to settle down,” she said. It’s reported that Lapattra, too, is the mother of one of YoungBoy’s children. “We never was in a relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend. Like, we still would have been okay if this sh*t hadn’t of happened to me. I don’t like attention.”

The status of Yaya’s case is pending and there haven’t been many updates since the initial incident, but back in April 2020, her lawyer made it clear that she would enter a not guilty plea. The new mom continues to await the conclusion of her case. Undoubtedly, 2019 was the year of “Old Town Road.” Lil Nas X, like many other Rap hopefuls, had spent years online peddling his music to whoever would listen, but after the “Old Town Road” controversy kicked up in the country music sphere and Billy Ray Cyrus hopped on the remix, the song became a pop culture phenomenon. Soon, the award nominations rolled in, including Lil Nas X being up for Record of the Year at the Grammys in 2020. Other nominees in the category included Bon Iver, Ariana Grande, H.E.R., Khalid, Lizzo, Post Malone, Swae Lee, and Billie Eilish.

Sadly, for Lil Nas X, he didn’t take home the coveted award and lost out to Eilish’s “Bad Guy,” but “Old Town Road” did earn him two other wins. Still, the hitmaker was disappointed in the Record of the Year loss and told British GQ that he found himself jealous of Billie Eilish’s success.

“Damn, but how? I have the biggest song. That isn’t fair,” Lil Nas X recalled feeling about his loss. Then, the following month, America—along with the rest of the world—was hit with a quarantine that kept us “bored in the house and in the house bored.” The singer-rapper admitted to being in his house alone for months as he dug deep and self-reflected on those emotions still lingering from the Grammys.

“I put all that energy I was feeling onto her. It became jealousy that wasn’t warranted,” said Nas X. “You have the longest-running number-one song, why the f*ck are you jealous about this award? We are already so blessed. Even if you don’t have these things, you’re here. You’re still alive. You exist. You shouldn’t have any reason to be jealous.”

Packers’ Davante Adams admitted that Aaron Rodgers leaving Green Bay would “potentially” complicate things for his future with the organization as well.  Adams discussed his connection with Rodgers during an interview on Fox Sports Radio, Monday.

“Potentially, potentially; that’s my guy,” Adams said on the program. “That’s the only guy that I’ve had — other than that 2017 season, when he got hurt. That’s the only guy that I’ve played with. We’ve built up a special connection over the years that has put us both in really good positions in our career. Not that he needed me to come along for it, because he was already in that spot, but we’ve established a lot together. So, it would change a lot. Doesn’t mean potentially I’d be gone, but I’d definitely have to do some extra thinking if my guy wasn’t here.”

Rodgers’ relationship with the Packers first became tarnished when the team’s general manager Brian Gutekunst drafted Jordan Love in 2020 without informing the veteran quarterback.

NFL Network reporter James Palmer recently reported that Rodgers being traded to the Broncos is becoming a real possibility.

“I’ve talked inside the building that it’s a real possibility that Aaron Rodgers could end up with the Denver Broncos,” Palmer said Monday. “Those same people have told me that ‘Remember, deals of this size with players of this nature, MVPs, are difficult to get done and you don’t know if they are going to get done until you get to the finish line. And at the same time, you need the Packers to make him available.’”

Their romance may not have lasted, but Masika Kalysha and Fetty Wap were blessed to welcome a daughter, Khari Barbie, together. Fetty is hush-hush when it comes to the relationships he has with the mothers of his children and his kids, but every once in a while, Masika will surface to speak openly about the often contentious relationship she has with Fetty. For Mother’s Day, the model mogul took to social media to share a series of adorable photos of herself posing alongside little Khari as she plugged her brand before sounding off about feeling that certain people in her life could be doing more.

She didn’t name Fetty specifically, but people have attributed the message to him while others believed she was speaking about her friends and family members, as well. “I be feeling so unappreciated & under valued on Mother’s Day… from the ppl who are actually in my life,” wrote Masika.

“Y’all can take that Mother’s Day text & go straight to hell with it,” she said. “This is my 5th Mother’s Day & I’ve only ever received 1 Mother’s Day gift… in 2018. Not even a dinner, a massage, a gift, hell a day off. On Mother’s Day I’m always on full mom duty. Let’s normalize giving moms a damn break on Mother’s Day.
