A few weeks ago, Kawhi made a rare appearance on Instagram Live where he announced that he was working on Culture Jam project that fuses together the worlds of hip-hop and basketball. “The ‘Culture Jam’ project, it’s just merging hip hop and basketball together, you know what I mean,” said Leonard. “Pretty much, coming from our background, it goes hand-in-hand. So, May 7th we got NBA YoungBoy and Rod Wave dropping a single. It’s fire.”

May 7th came and went without any sign of the single but it’ll finally be arriving in its entirety this Friday. A post on Culture Jam’s Instagram page shared a “PSA” from the Clippers star announcing the single “Everything Different” ft. Youngboy Never Broke Again and Rod Wave. The song snippet was accompanied by footage of Kawhi practicing in a gym by himself at 6 a.m.

This wouldn’t be the first time Youngboy Never Broke Again and Rod Wave have worked together. Last year, Rod Wave made an appearance on NBA Youngboy and Rich The Kid’s collaborative project, Nobody Safe on the song, “Sorry Momma.”

Check out the snippet of Rod Wave and Youngboy’s upcoming single dropping this Friday, May 28th.

Vivica Fox Talks 50 Cent Breakup, His GF Cuban Link Chimes In

She’s speaking about the highs and lows of her career and personal life, and Vivica Fox isn’t holding back. The actress has had a successful career in Hollywood for decades, and with the fame has come a string of romances, including her 2003 relationship with 50 Cent. At the time, Fif’s star was on a meteoric rise thanks to his megahit debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin’, but his romance with Vivica quickly fizzled out, and recently, she shared why.

We previously reported on Vivica’s interview with VladTV where she opened up about meeting Fif. “The love that I had for him, and still to this day, will always—he was the love of my life,” said Vivica. “I will admit that without any reservations. He will always have a special place in my heart. But the reason that the relationship ended is because we went way too public, way too fast.”

In another clip of her interview, Fox once again spoke about the alleged plans 50 Cent had to propose to her, adding that he’d purchased a 12-carat ring. “He got mad at me and turned it into a pair of earrings,” she said. Vivica claimed their relationship was over after the World Music Awards because she “came back and he was on the radio saying he dumped me.”

“My friend called me. I was in Baltimore filming The Salon and my friend Darrell Brown called me and said, ‘Yo, your boy is on the radio blasting you,'” Fox recalled. “At first I went, ‘Who?’ And he was like, ’50 Cent!’ I was like, ‘Curtis?!’ He was like, ‘Yeah, he’s telling everybody you guys broke up.’ I was like, ‘We did? Huh.'”

She stated that Mr. Jackson never cut things off face-to-face and the radio mention was how their relationship ended. “That was his way, when I look back at it now. He went back to being that tough guy. We really loved each other a lot at the time.”

Fif is now in a relationship with Jamira Haines, also known as Cuban Link, and the couple has been happily in love for some time. When TheShadeRoom reposted a clip of Vivica calling 50 Cent “the love of her life,” Haines slid in the comments. “.. aww [violin emoji][smiling emoji with hearts].”

The subtle shade wasn’t welcomed by commenters who joked that Haines was only about seven or eight years old when Fif and Vivica were together. Check out the new clip of Vivica Fox explaining their breakup below.

Bow Wow Isn’t Entertaining “Verzuz” Until He Sees Contracts

It doesn’t look like a Verzuz between Soulja Boy and Bow Wow has been officially secured. For days Bow and Soulja have been taking playful shots at one another online after the “Crank That” hitmaker announced that they would pair up for a Verzuz appearance. The news came after months of Romeo Miller petitioning Bow for shared space on some platform, whether it was Verzuz or another project. Unfortunately for Miller, Bow wasn’t having it.

However, a Bow Wow versus Soulja Boy match-up was well-received by fans, but because Timbaland and Swizz Beatz didn’t make the official announcement, some were skeptical if Verzuz lovers were being trolled.

On Wednesday (May 26), Bow Wow returned to Twitter to share an update. “Ain’t talking versuz until i see some contracts,” the rapper tweeted. FACTS…. [pen emoji][paper emoji]… back to regular scheduling program.” We’ll be expecting a swift response from Soulja Boy anytime soon because he’s not one to let much of anything slide.

Meanwhile, Swizz and Timbaland have announced that they would be returning to Verzuz for a re-match now that they’ve secured new deals and have a full performance set-up. Fans are already prepared to see the two chart-toppers bring out special guests and they relive their most successful moments in music history.

Joe Budden Fires Back At Charlamagne Tha God

The tension between Joe Budden and Charlamagne Tha God has grown over the past few months but things have been quite awry for both parties in recent days. Following Charlamagne Tha God’s exchange with Kwame Brown, Budden addressed his own issues with the radio host on the latest episode of his podcast.

Joe went on to explain that following Charlamagne’s recent comments, as well as his criticism surrounding Joe’s deal with Spotify, he felt that Charlamagne Tha God was making a concerted effort to “devalue” him. “I got on Charlamagne because he appeared to go out of his way to devalue me. One of the most prominent voices in this media thing—that one instance it appeared I was down—used all of his platforms and all of his might to continue to push the narrative that… Joe fucked it up,” he said.

Joe said that he’s only discussing Charlamagne’s comments because of the resurfaced sexual assault allegations brought up by Kwame Brown. Budden claimed Charlamagne has been shading him as early as 2010. The former rapper then suggested that Charlamagne doesn’t necessarily live by the words that he preaches in terms of mental health awareness.

“If you a mental health guy, you didn’t know that fucking bombarding this man’s whole family on the radio would be a mental health thing? Tell me you didn’t,” he said. “If you big on mental health, be big on it at all times. … I’m no longer talking to Charlamagne, I’m talking about as a whole. I just see a lot of it.”

Later on in the episode, Joe Budden also responds to Logic’s recent mockery of “Pump It Up.”

Check out the latest episode of the Joe Budden Podcast below. Joe talks Charlamagne around the 36-minute mark.

Boosie Badazz Shares Update On Shooting Injury: “They F*cked Me Up”

As a rapper whose social media quarantine antics had him banned from Instagram on multiple occasions, Boosie Badazz is a rapper who is not afraid to speak his mind, and as a result, the Hip-Hop community can always expect to be entertained when the “Wipe Me Down” artist sits down for an interview.

In his latest interview with Vlad, Boosie recently touched on Young Thug’s verse on “Ski” in which the YSL artist raps, “Showed her two million cash, now she woozy (woah) / 20 watches and I’m still snoozin’ (20) / I had came up out the trenches, then I had beat a few bodies like Boosie.” After voicing his appreciation for Young Thug’s shout-out in the original clip, another segment of the interview has been released, and it features Boosie giving an update on his health following his shooting last November.

“I’m walking. I’m performing now,” Boosie reveals after Vlad asks him whether he’s still in a wheelchair. “It ain’t 100%. I think I got on it too early. It might gotta go back in it, but I ain’t got time. I’m supposed to be damn near almost tryna run yet. I ain’t running yet. My leg..it seems like my damn thing sticking out. Like you can hear it.”

At that moment, Boosie begins knocking on his leg and causing a loud metallic sound, and afterward, he immediately jokes, “It ain’t stopping nothing, you know? I ain’t on no track and field team. They f*cked me up.”

In response to Boosie’s update, Vlad tries to stir the pot by asking Boosie whether he gets angry at his shooters or experiences flashbacks whenever he feels the pain from his injury, and Boosie’s stance on the situation is similar to a forgiving perspective that he expressed in a previous interview.

“Nah, nah,” Boosie states. “I don’t have flashbacks on this sh*t or nothing like that. It ain’t nothing.”

Marilyn Manson Arrest Warrant Issued In New Hampshire

Marilyn Manson has a warrant out for his arrest in New Hampshire, which was reportedly first issued back in October 2019, for an incident that occurred at a concert in August of the same year.

Officials say that Manson and his team have been aware of the warrant for quite some time, but have yet to do anything about it, or try to get it resolved, despite having been in contact since the warrant was first issued.

Manson is wanted for two counts of Class A misdemeanor simple assault, apparently due to him spitting (quite aggressively) directly into a camera lens. The footage from the camera in question was being shown on the big screen of the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion. After he spat, some of the spit allegedly landed on the videographer handling the camera, leading to these charges. Manson is a controversial figure known to do extreme things in the name of his art, making this particular event no surprise– and even possibly tame.

Although the alleged victim was left with “no injuries,” Manson is still being charged as the stray saliva made “unprivileged physical contact.” The videographer, who was contracted by the venue, was working in the pit area when the spitting incident occurred, leaving Manson to face New Hampshire punishments, such as a net less-than-a-year jail sentence or a $2000 fine if prosecuted.

This isn’t the only allegation Manson is facing at the moment, as he is currently being sued by his former assistant. Find out why here

Seven DMX Singles Were Certifed Gold Or Platinum This Week

Although DMX has long been one of hip-hop’s best-selling artists — see: his five consecutive No. 1 album debuts on the Billboard 200 and the near-ubiquity of singles like “Party Up” and “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” — many of his most recognizable singles were only certified gold or platinum by the RIAA this week, nearly two months after his death in early April.

The certified songs include “How It’s Goin’ Down” (gold), the aforementioned “Party Up” (platinum), “Ruff Ryders Anthem” (platinum), “What These B*tches Want” featuring Sisqo (gold), “What’s My Name” (gold), “Where The Hood At” (platinum), and “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” (platinum).

For those wondering why these seven songs were only recently certified when some — like “X Gon’ Give It To Ya,” which shipped and/or sold over a million copies in 2017 — surpassed their respective certification thresholds years ago. Fortunately, DJ Booth’s Brian Zisook explained the phenomenon, which he called the result of “a combination of laziness and cost.”

“Labels often will wait until there is a ton of eligible records and they apply for certifications in bulk and then use the number as fodder for coverage,” he explained. “These 7 records didn’t all just become eligible at once.” In a separate tweet, he elaborated that, “Artists will often ask or remind their labels to apply for them on their behalf” sometime after their eligibility — which, in X’s case, couldn’t have been the highest priority (in 2017, he was on trial for tax fraud, spending nearly a year in prison as a result and spending time in and out of rehab).

However, with X’s posthumous album, Exodus, dropping this Friday, there was perhaps no more opportune time for Def Jam to file for certifications — even if it is in semi-bad taste. You can check out one of the first songs released from the album, the Griselda-featuring “Hood Blues,” now.
