Lloyd Banks Unveils “COTI” Tracklist & Release Date

Lloyd Banks is gearing up for the release of The Course Of The Inevitable, his first studio album in over a decade. Having previously set the stage with a few cinematic teaser trailers and the album cover, Banks has now come forward to confirm the official release date for the upcoming project, as well as the tracklist and guest appearances to be expected.

For the most part, Banks will be flying solo on COTI, with only five of the eighteen tracks including featured artists. On that front, we’re looking at appearances from Roc Marci, Benny The Butcher, Styles P, Sy Ari Da Kid, and Vado. Other than that, however, the stage is largely set for the Punchline King, who will likely have much to say on his fourth studio album.

Pooh Shiesty Thinks Gucci Mane Deserves More Credit

1017 breakout star Pooh Shiesty has been enjoying a run at the top, fueled by the success of his Shiesty Season project — which happens to feature one of the year’s biggest anthems in “Back In Blood.” With the Deluxe Edition having been released last week, Shiesty took a moment to catch up with Ebro Darden on Rap Life, where he proceeded to give flowers to the man who gave him a record deal.

After Ebro notes that Gucci Mane has set a great blueprint for his younger artists, citing his ability to unite Atlanta talent, Shiesty takes the praise even further. “Not just Atlanta though,” says Shiesty. “He gets no credit he really deserves. It might feel like he started something or put these artists on first but he really did way more behind the scenes that he don’t want to be acknowledged. Dude a mastermind. To the point where I’m thinking this is his industry.”

“You can go watch somebody’s interview about jewelry now, who they going to bring up,” asks Shiesty, furthering his point. “Big Wop. He inspired them in some type of way.” It’s a testament to Gucci Mane’s impact on his artists, who clearly value his appreciation, insight, and leadership; such loyalty is part of what has made 1017 Records one of the most exciting labels to watch right now.

In addition to talking Guwop, the pair also discuss the G-Herbo-assisted “Switch It Up.” “I switched it up a notch,” explains Shiesty. “They thought I couldn’t rap fast or whatever. Most people didn’t expect G Herbo to be on it. I did a little trailer with a snippet before Herbo was on there. The whole world went crazy.” Though some lamented that the original instrumental was replaced, the song was still received favorably.

Check out Shiesty’s full conversation with Ebro Darden below, and sound off if you agree that Gucci Mane deserves for credit for everything he’s brought to the table.

Yo Gotti Takes Flexing To A New Level

After being deemed one of the top five rappers dead or alive by HNHH’s latest Rise & Grind star Unfoonk, Yo Gotti is back with a post that proves he’s one of the music industry’s wealthiest rappers and label executives.

Last week, Yo Gotti celebrated his 40th birthday by holding a huge party packed with Memphis’ brightest stars and other notable guests like Rick Ross, Bobby Shmurda, and Elliot Wilson, and while that definitely illustrated his influence and impact in Hip-Hop, the “Recession Proof” artist has doubled back to Instagram to once again celebrate his accomplishments.

Apparently, Yo Gotti’s cave also has a cave in it, and for the video, he fills it up with hundred-dollar bills.

“Good morning #YouNiggasAintWakingUpLikeDis,” Yo Gotti writes in the post’s caption. “CaveLife #DrowningInThePaper Back to Business… #SUPA.”

Quando Rondo Responds To Death Threats From Fans

Quando Rondo has had a pretty intense year. The Savannah, Georgia-based rapper has been trying to focus on his new music, releasing his latest mixtape Still Taking Risks a few weeks ago. Given his connection to King Von’s fatal shooting though, the tragic events of November 6, 2020 continue to dominate the media’s coverage surrounding him.

Following his multi-part interview with Angela Yee where he told his side of the story, Quando Rondo continues his press tour with more comments about how the public has turned on him in recent months. In a recent interview, Quando spoke about the death threats he has been receiving from fans, stating that they don’t get to him.

“Death threat all you want to, bro, f*ck that shit, that’s just some words, my n***a,” said the rapper. “Go do an action. I’m going home to my daughter and if I didn’t, God called me. But I’m going home to my daughter.”

This has been a particularly rough month for the 22-year-old music star. At the beginning of May, Quando performed a concert in front of only fifty people, getting teased about it by fans on social media. A few days after, it was reported that he was shot at in his home state

What do you think about all the hate that Quando Rondo has received this past year?

Saweetie Speaks Out Against Injustices Facing Black People: “Stop Shooting Us Down”

Roughly a month following the release of her colorful Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 project, Saweetie is back to remind us that Pretty Summer is still in full effect. In a recently shared video, Saweetie chops it up with Twitter to go #BehindTheTweets and provide some insight into some of her most quirky and heartfelt tweets. The video features plenty of funny and unexpected revelations, but one of the most serious moments came when Saweetie discussed one of her tweets from last summer, during the height of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Saweetie’s original tweet read, “I’m happy to see the outpouring of resources to foundations and families but it pains me to know that no amount of money can bring back the black lives we’ve lost.

After reading the tweet aloud, Saweetie walks viewers through her personal experiences of seeing Black male family members like her father and uncle face injustice, and she also expresses a desire for tragedies like George Floyd’s murder to be resolved before they result in the loss of life.

“I’ve seen my uncles, my dad endure these injustices,” she says. “It’s just kinda like, I’d rather y’all start respecting Black people and stop shooting us down.”

In addition to briefly speaking on police brutality, Saweetie also explains her lyrics, relives the moment when she got a tongue piercing a college, and her strange appetite. Check out Saweetie’s full #BehindtheTweets explanation video below.

Nicki Minaj Shows Off Her Extravagant Backyard & Kicks Off New Challenge

Yo Gotti knew what he was doing when he started a new challenge on social media, throwing hundred-dollar bills into the cave in his backyard and swimming in it. Essentially, the rap mogul has kicked off a series exclusively for the richest of the rich, showing off his incredible property and inviting other celebrities to do the same. It didn’t take a long time for Nicki Minaj, who has recently ramped up her activity on social media, to join in on the fun and show what over a decade of hard work and consistency can get you.

One of the absolute greats in the rap game, Nicki Minaj showed off the backyard of her multi-million dollar home, showing what life looks like for the ultra-rich. “H O M E – it’s the #backyardchallenge,” wrote the Queen on Instagram and TikTok, cross-promoting across different platforms. “I [see] u @yogotti — the rest of y’all wuddup?”

The video starts focused on a pool of water before panning up and showing a beautiful stone slide leading to the basin. “Attention, this is how bad bitches go on vacation but really still be at home,” she bragged in the clip, sitting by her waterfall.

This comes following a complete social media takeover from Mrs. Minaj, who has been spoiling hundreds of millions of fans with all kinds of content throughout the last few weeks. In fact, her activity on Instagram single-handedly resulted in a 4,900% spike in sales for Pink Crocs. Of course, Crocs are more affordable than stone slides and waterfalls, but the Barbz are probably taking design notes for their own backyards.

What do you think about Nicki’s digs?

Percy Miller, known professionally as Master P, can officially add another accomplishment to the list. The legendary business mogul recently received an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Lincoln University, alongside 400 graduates. In addition to Miller, JAY-Z’s mother Gloria Carter also received an honorary degree, as did author/professor Michael Eric Dyson and professor Charles V. Hamilton.

Alongside P’s triumphant post, he also shared a brief video summary from the ceremony. His son Romeo Miller was quick to praise his father’s accomplishment, sliding into the comments with some words of encouragement. “You make everything look easy, but they don’t see the sleepless nights,” writes Romeo. “I always pray to God to protect you because you only get sleep/rest on the plane. Congrats Dr. P and keep inspiring. Love u pops. #NoLimit.”

It’s certainly welcome to see Master P continuing to evolve, and it’s safe to say he’s among hip-hop’s most inspiring role models. We’d like to extend our congratulations to Dr. Percy Miller, who continues to lead by example. Check out a video recap of the big ceremony below, and be sure to show some love to Dr. Miller in the comments section.
