In the early 2000s, City High was all the buzz in the R&B-Pop scene. The trio was made up of singers Ryan Tobey, Robbie Pardlo, and Claudette Ortiz, and they were known for their hits like “What Would You Do?” and “Caramel,” but their short-lived existence only resulted in one album. However, Ortiz has continued to be involved in the industry, even making appearances on reality television, and it seemed that Fabolous woke up and wanted to give a nod to Claudette’s look.

On his Instagram Story, Fabolous shared a couple of images of Ortiz and wrote, “Claudette Ortiz appreciation post.” Both photos showed the singer dolled up in bikini tops. “It’s vintage but the natural vibe still [fire emoji],” Fab wrote over another.

It took but seconds for the reactions to roll in from the public and they stormed social media earlier today. Because the posts seemed random, it took people by surprise and considering his past, responses were accusatory. Emily B has spoken out openly about Fab’s alleged infidelities while she was on Love & Hip Hop, so many people went after the rapper for posting about another woman. 

Years ago, Emily reportedly denied that she’d undergone cosmetic surgery but commentators continue to claim that can’t be true. Although it’s unknown if she has or has not, Fab was also attacked for complimenting a woman’s natural body when his wife has faced accusations of sculpting her shape with the help of a doctor.

After the backlash settled, Fabolous tweeted a follow-up message. “Everybody be talking that ‘ Give people they flowers while they alive’ sh*t.. Then when u do it, they make it a issue,” said the rapper. “A Appreciation Post ain’t meant to be nothing but… FLOWERS.. People try to find the negative in everything. Even in SHOWING LOVE…”

By now, you’ve read through quite a few reactions to the Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul fight. Jake Paul declared his brother the winner, although winners weren’t technically called, and fans were overwhelmingly disappointed with the exhibition bout. immediately following the match, a clip of the fight arose among the commentary and showed a moment that Logan Paul caught a punch from Mayweather and fell into his opponent. 

Some people theorized that this was the “knockout” that fans wanted to see, however, Mayweather looked as if he held up his opponent. Critics claimed that Mayweather wanted the fight to go all eight rounds and that’s why there weren’t any big blowout moments, and rumors circulated that Paul really did blackout. However, Paul hopped online to tear down this theory.

“Morning after the fight,” said Paul in a video as he inspected his face. “Not too shabby for fighting the best. I’m seeing this narrative going around that—there’s one part in the fight where Floyd punches me and I kinda like, leaned on him a little bit and it looks like I kinda went limp and people are trying to spin it and say that he knocked me out and caught me and kept me up to keep the fight going to the eighth round.”

“Shut the f*ck up,” he continued. “Like, just shut the f*ck up. Like, stop trying to discredit what happened last night. Make no mistake, he got a lotta good punches in. I got f*cked up a couple shots. I didn’t know my face could make that shape, but never rocked, never blacked out, never, obviously, got knocked out.”

It’s always good to start your Monday off right and DaBaby has a few things to get off of his chest. Last week, DaBaby and his entourage were reportedly involved in an altercation that occurred in Miami. There was reportedly a shooting that occurred that left two people injured: one person was hit in the leg while another, who was reportedly paralyzed, was struck in the back.

We previously reported about DaBaby being questioned by authorities, however, he was later released. Yet, his Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment artist Wisdom Awute was arrested for allegedly shooting the person in the leg. Another man, Christopher Urena, was also taken into custody.

Despite this latest set of troubles that plague the rapper, DaBaby returned to Instagram to declare his status in the industry. “Best mf rapper,” he wrote. “[And] I’m on ALLLAT sh*t these n*ggas LIE about. I’m him frfr.” DaBaby didn’t specify what led up to this announcement but had a few more things to say.

After a long week of being criticized online for allegedly being tied to a racist organization, Ellie Kemper has finally surfaced with a statement. The beloved Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and The Office star was confronted with controversy after newspaper clippings showing her being crowned as the Veiled Prophet Ball queen surfaced online. The St. Louis ball has a longstanding racist history dating back to 1878. The Atlantic reports that the Veiled Prophet Ball was launched by White elites in the city who were upset with racial tensions and labor disputes.

There have been thousands of St. Louis residents who took to social media to share that the city is fully aware of the ball and its reported racist ties to the Ku Klux Klan, and after being dragged for her association with the event, Kemper has come forward with an apology and explanation.

“When I was 19 years old, I decided to participate in a debutante ball in my hometown,” Kemper wrote. “The century-old organization that hosted the debutante ball had an unquestionably racist, sexist, and elitist past. I was not aware of this history at the time, but ignorance is no excuse. I was old enough to have educated myself before getting involved.”

“I unequivocally deplore, denounce, and reject white supremacy,” she continued. “At the same time, I acknowledge that because of my race and my privilege, I am the beneficiary of a system that has dispensed unequal justice and unequal rewards.” Kemper added that it can be easy for people on the receiving end of “internet criticism” to believe that “your detractors are getting it all wrong.” However, in this instance, she agreed with people who called her out.

“I want to apologize to the people I’ve disappointed, and I promise that moving forward I will listen, continue to educate myself, and use my privilege in support of the better society I think we’re capable of becoming.” Check out Kemper’s message in full below.

Their “Hot 100” in Hollywood list is filled with lust-worthy celebrities have that taken over the entertainment industry, but Maxim reserved their top spot for Teyana Taylor. For the first time in the history of their publication, Maxim named a Black woman as their “Sexiest Woman Alive,” and to say that Teyana is excited is an understatement.

On Monday (June 7), the feature article was revealed along with Taylor’s cover and she penned a lengthy caption on Instagram regarding the less-than-sexy circumstances surrounding her photoshoot. “Somebody pinch me!!!!” she began. “Maxim Hot 100 to be named the ‘Sexiest Woman alive’ by literally living in the skin I’m in.”

“As a entrepreneur, wife, a busy mother of two & working behind the lens in my director bag I tend to hide behind my sweats & vintage tees,” she added. “So I as you can see I don’t have much time to be and feel sexy. This particular day was dope because it made me see another side of myself. I had just dropped JUNIE off at school before heading straight to the shoot; sweatpants a beanie and an army jacket. My hair wasn’t done for a ‘shoot’ because I planned on throwing on a wig & I didn’t have on any make up.”

However, the photographer, Gilles Bensimon, wanted to shoot her in exactly what she was wearing with minimal makeup and not much done to style her hair. “I say all of this to say in the true words of Audrey Hepburn… ‘The beauty of a woman is not in facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
