Lloyd Banks & Benny The Butcher Are Plotting

Lloyd Banks is up to something. That much is clear. For starters, the Punchline King has been hard at work in the studio, having recently teased an upcoming track that left his fans eager for some new music from the New York lyricist. And while Banks has been known to move at his own methodical pace, it would appear that he has been steadily plotting on his return, confirming that he and Benny The Butcher have a collaboration tucked away in the stash.

The revelation arose following the release of Benny The Butcher’s  The Plugs I Met 2, a project on which a Banks feature would have felt right at home. After one fan openly wished for a duet between Benny and Banks, the PLK actually took to Twitter to issue a promising response. “Very soon..” he confirmed, alluding to what many have already concluded — Lloyd Banks has something in the works, and by his own admission, it won’t be much longer before it lands.

Of course, “very soon” seldom means exactly what you might think, at least not in the rap game. Still, even with the uncertainty surrounding a possible release date, it’s reassuring to know that 2021 may very well bring a new Lloyd Banks tape into the mix, and one that features a verse from Benny The Butcher at that. Check out his confirmation below and sound off if you’re looking foward to some new music from the Punchline King.

Lil Uzi Vert Announces “The Real Uzi 2”

It can be admittedly difficult to track the whims of Lil Uzi Vert, especially when he lets them fly in social media onslaughts. Yet those who have perfected the art of interpretation have actually made many-a-discovery based on Uzi’s Twitter feed, including the recent revelation about his upcoming project — one that should please day-one fans of the Philadelphia rapper.

Last night, Lil Uzi took to Twitter to share the news that he’s been steadily plotting on the release of The Real Uzi 2, a sequel to his debut mixtape from 2014. In case you need a refresher, The Real Uzi featured hosting from Don Cannon and guest appearances from A$AP Ant, Gillie Da Kid, Lee Mazin, and Kur. It’s almost surreal to revisit the formative drop, a massive stylistic departure from where the beloved artist stands today, at least musically speaking.

One has to wonder what prompted him to revisit The Real Uzi, let alone begin work on a full-fledged sequel, but many fans reacted to the announcement with a blend of curious optimism. It wouldn’t be the first time Uzi has lined up sequel to an existing project, having recently dropped off second chapters of both Luv Is Rage and Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World. In fact, it would be more surprising if Uzi didn’t deliver a sequel at this stage, given the pattern he has established thus far.

Are you excited to see how this one plays out?

Giannis Antetokounmpo Becomes Latest Superstar To Suffer Injury

Over these last few days, it seems as though every single superstar in the NBA has suffered a big injury. On Saturday, LeBron James suffered a sprained ankle and on Sunday, LaMelo Ball fractured his wrist. Even Kevin Durant has been hit with the injury bug as the Nets superstar is dealing with a lingering hamstring problem. Now, the latest player to suffer an injury is none other than Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

According to Marc Stein of The New York Times, Giannis is actually dealing with a sprained left knee, which means he will now have to miss some valuable time out on the court. In fact, Giannis has been ruled out of tonight’s game against the Indiana Pacers, which means the Bucks are going to be a man short against a team that has proven to be scrappy.

At this stage, there is no real timeline for when he will be back on the floor, although with the Bucks in third place in the Eastern Conference, there is no real reason to rush him just yet. There is still plenty of time before the start of the playoffs, and it seems likely that Giannis will be back sooner rather than later.

Keep it locked to HNHH as we will be sure to bring you all of the latest news coming out of the NBA.

Money Man Catches A Vibe On “For You”

It seems like Money Man is picking up where he left off. 2020 was a massive year for the rapper who found success with the release of the Lil Baby-assisted remix to “24,” the single he released in dedication to Kobe Bryant. Since then, he’s maintained a stronghold on the rap game. Independently, at that.

The luxury of being independent of the major label machine allows Money Man to move at his own pace, which means fans are constantly receiving something new to vibe to. This weekend, the rapper delivered a brand new single, titled, “For You.” The muddy vocals over guitar-laden production are present as ever as Money Man reflects on love and wealth.

Check out the latest offering from Money Man below and keep your eyes peeled for new music.

Quotable Lyrics

Phife Dawg, Busta Rhymes, & Redman Embody Hip-Hop In “Nutshell Pt. 2”

The late Phife Dawg’s posthumous solo album is on the way, with the recent release of the Redman and Busta Rhymes-assisted lead single “Nutshell Pt 2” setting a welcome tone for hip-hop heads. And though the Tribe Called Quest legend isn’t here to see this one manifest, his memory certainly endures thanks to some clean new visuals for the lyrically-charged track.

Directed by Tony Reames, the stylized clip features performance footage from all three parties, giving off the impression that Phife, Busta, and Reggie Noble are spitting bars in the same cypher. What truly shines most in this clip, aside from the nostalgic rush of seeing Phife Dawg rocking the mic, is the dynamic presence of each emcee. It’s no wonder they were able to shine as collaborators on this one, not only committing to the established rhyme scheme (“In,” “Un” and “Keep” form the basis of each verse) but doing so with animated, unrivaled passion.

Anybody who appreciates classic rap will find much to enjoy here — including, but not exclusive to, how seamlessly the late Phife Dawg holds it down alongside Busta and Redman. Check out “Nutshell Pt. 2” right now, and keep an eye out for more news on Phife’s upcoming solo album as it surfaces.

Derrick Rose Details Horrific COVID-19 Battle

COVID-19 has been a massive struggle for many of the players in the NBA this season. With the season not taking place in a bubble, players have been forced to make do with the current situation although it has ultimately put them at a heightened risk for catching the virus. Recently, that’s exactly what happened to Derrick Rose as he tested positive for COVID-19. In fact, Rose had to miss eight games with the virus, although now, he will be able to come back to the Knicks lineup.

While talking to reporters, Rose revealed that he faced all of the symptoms that are associated with the virus and that it was one of the worst things he has ever dealt with in his life. As you can see by his words, it was a harrowing experience and one that he would not wish on anybody.

“It’s real. The COVID thing, I know a lot of people overlook it but it’s very serious. It’s real… I had the flu. It was nothing like the flu…It was that times-10,” he told The Athletic.

With the vaccine being made available to millions throughout the United States, hopefully, this pandemic will be over sooner rather than later. It’s been rough for a wide variety of people, and the sports world has been especially hit hard.
