Nas Announces “King’s Disease II,” Dropping Next Friday

Nas is no stranger to the sequel, having previously delivered both Stillmatic and The Lost Tapes 2 in 2001 and 2019 respectively. Now, he’s officially lining up another one, announcing the imminent release of King’s Disease 2.

According to a report from NME, Nas will be releasing his brand new album on Friday, August 6th. Though little detail has been shared about the forthcoming project, NME did share the regal artwork, which is much more minimalistic than its predecessor. It’s unclear as to whether or not Nas will be reuniting with Hit-Boy, who produced the entirety of the Grammy-Winning King’s Disease.

At this stage, all we can really do is speculate on where the legendary lyricist will go from here. King’s Disease was widely regarded as one of his best albums in a minute, and for all intents and purposes, Nas has been on one hell of a run. It will certainly be interesting to see how he approaches this sequel, given that the first installment has already garnered quite an impeccable reputation. Perhaps we’ll see him reuniting with a few old friends — maybe we’ll even see a JAY-Z collaboration, as the pair recently connected on DJ Khaled’s “Sorry Not Sorry.”

One thing is certain — a new Nas album will always be welcome, especially given how solid he’s been lately. Check out the majestic cover artwork for King’s Disease 2, and look for the full project to arrive on August 6th. Are you excited for another album from Escobar?

Coi Leray Trashes Clout Chasing Fan, Lea Royer Exposes Their DMs

The clout chasing chronicles continue for viral Coi Leray fan Lea Royer. Earlier this week, Royer caught flack from thousands of social media users and even popular Hip-Hop artists like Lil Yachty after sharing a picture that she had taken with the “BIG PURR (Prrdd)” rapper at Rolling Loud. While there was nothing questionable or outlandish about the picture, it was Royer’s caption that made her Facebook post go viral.

“I look more like a celebrity than her tbh,” she wrote. “(Not the fit just the face) y’all d*cksucking ode [crying laughing emoji].”

Well, it turns out that Coi Leray caught wind of Royer’s social media comments, and rather than ranting about the situation online and disrupting the promotional efforts for her new single with Sleepy Hollow, the “No More Parties” rapper went directly to the source. Hopping into Lea Royer’s DMs, Coi Leray clapped back at Royer’s recent actions by saying, “Ya mother should of swallowed you.”

In response to Coi’s disrespectful comment, Royer wrote back, “LMFAOAOOAO i think this whole thing was dragged out. It was an opinion, but i didn’t think i look better than you. You shouldn’t even be mad at my opinion, just keep it pushing. Everyone’s dragging this whole sh*t and i been defended myself. If you wanna take it personal u could but it wasn’t sh*t. If i was you, i wouldn’t care.”

“Yea yea yea,” Coi replied rather callously, and Royer continued to send the 2021 XXL Freshman another lengthy message. After the exchange, Royer went on to expose her DM conversation with Coi Leray by posting screenshots of the exchange to her Instagram story.

Do you think that this is another example of Royer clout chasing, or is it cool that she exposed what Coi Leray said in her DMs?

Following his miracle work, NLE Choppa is back with more new products, and this time, he’s helping people who suffer from erectile dysfunction and obesity.

Uploading two new videos on TikTok this week, the 18-year-old rapper promoted his new herbal products. He’s marketing the first as a more natural kind of Viagra.

Lupe Fiasco Keeps The Blades Sharp With 2 New Freestyles

We’ve seen countless rap battles come and go, but seldom does an emcee step up to wage war against himself. Yet clearly, Lupe Fiasco is a rare breed of emcee, one whose creativity basically knows no boundaries. Though he was briefly on the precipice of war with his former podcast co-host Royce Da 5’9″, it would appear that Lu’s “Steve Jobs” was the final shot. Evidently, Nickel didn’t want to escalate the situation any further, leaving Lu to contemplate his next move.

With his blood still boiling for battle, Lupe opted to do the next best thing — find an opponent willing to face off with him. And being that he’s among the most lyrically elite and creative emcees in the game, the crop of potential foes is rather thin. Therefore, the only logical conclusion was to keep firing shots until somebody rises to the occasion.

Last night, Lupe dropped off two new freestyles, “Repo Pe” and “SBA Lu.” Though some originally speculated that “Repo Pe” was aimed at Royce, it soon became clear that Lupe was actually sparring with himself, dropping off “SBA” as a rebuttal. That’s not to say there aren’t a few Nickle jabs to be found — but being that it’s unlikely that Royce will clap back on wax, it feels like Lupe is simply keeping his blades sharp in case of an emergency.

No matter what, it’s a great time to be a Fiasco fan right now. Check out the pair of freestyles here, and sound off if you think a round-two between Royce and Lupe is needed.

QUOTABLE LYRICS

For the fans, why hit him with kabams
When the germaphobe jams can wash a n***a with hands
I am not in my feelings I’m in my glands
I am not no bitch, I’m in a trance
Pandemic gimmicks got n***as all into scams
Panhandling brilliance, put lyrics all in they hands

Dua Lipa Fans Absolutely Drag DaBaby After He Liked Multiple Tweets Criticizing Her

DaBaby is in the midst of quite the fall from grace following his set at Rolling Loud last weekend, which featured a homophobic rant about HIV and AIDS. Dua Lipa, who recruited DaBaby to join her on the hit “Levitating” remix, noted that she was “surprised and horrified” by the moment. Now fans have noticed that yesterday, DaBaby liked some tweets criticizing Lipa, which has led to backlash.

The tweets in question focus on “Levitating,” specifically how it was DaBaby that got the song to No. 1 on the charts (even though it actually peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100) and wondering why the DaBaby version of the track hasn’t been taken off of streaming services yet.

Twitter

As far as the idea that DaBaby launched Lipa to mainstream relevance, that claim is dubious at best, considering that “New Rules” and “Don’t Start Now” were top-10 singles well before the release of the “Levitating” remix. Whatever the case may be, Lipa fans took to Twitter and went after DaBaby, saying they had never heard of him before “Levitating” and that by some metrics, Lipa has had more commercial success than DaBaby.

Check out some more reactions below.

Tory Lanez Proves He Can’t Be Canceled

What’s it going to take for Tory Lanez to get canceled? The hip-hop villain hits up IG Story to prove his numbers really don’t lie. Mike Dean Reassures Concerned Fans That No, He’s Not Kanye’s Hostage

Mike Dean has been producing, mixing, and mastering Kanye West’s music for years now, having originally connected after Yeezy heard Dean’s mix on Scarface’s “Guess Who’s Back.” Since then, he has contributed to the majority of Ye’s catalog, including his favorite of the bunch, Yeezus.

Now, he’s once again been tapped to handle business behind the boards for the upcoming Donda, which is currently projected for an early August release. Though that wasn’t always the case, as the project was originally slated to drop on July 23rd. In a turn of events not entirely dissimilar to the pre-Ye rollout of the Surgical Summer, Dean was left scrambling to mix and master the album in time for its big release.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Donda was pushed back, giving Mike Dean a larger window to finish up. Essentially diving headlong into his work, many fans were quick to note that the generally active producer had gone quiet on social media. Before long, an outlandish narrative formed in which Dean was being held hostage by Kanye West, to the point where Dean himself took a moment to address the “concerned” parties.

“Thank you for your concern,” he recites, in a deadpan voice. In another similar message, he addresses his Twitter followers directly. “Twitter, everything is okay,” he says. “I am fine. I am working. And I am fine.” Of course, that didn’t stop some from suggesting that he’s being held at gunpoint — but the internet will do what it does and there’s really no stopping it.

Check out Mike Dean’s reassuring message below, and rest easy knowing that Mike Dean is safe and sound, doing what he loves at that. Look for his work on Donda to hit streaming platforms early August, provided Kanye holds to his intended release schedule. DaBaby Gets Caught Liking Shady Tweets About Dua Lipa

DaBaby has fully invested himself in becoming the biggest hip-hop villain in the country, sharing his homophobic views and doubling down with multiple disrespectful comments this week. Over the weekend, the rapper shamed his fans living with HIV and AIDS, as well as his gay fans, by calling them out during the Rolling Loud festival. He attempted to justify his comments by claiming that his gay fans aren’t the “nasty” ones with AIDS. Then, he released a music video at the height of the controversy to capitalize.

As he continues to be a major trending topic on social media with people attempting to cancel him, DaBaby has outdone himself again. Previously, his “Levitating” collaborator Dua Lipa addressed his homophobia and said she was “horrified” over his comments. That prompted the Charlotte native to “like” a series of shady tweets about their song, including posts that suggest that the track is only popular because of his feature.

“@DUALIPA soooo when you gonna remove that remix with @DaBabyDaBaby?! We waiting…” tweeted one fan of Dua’s, which DaBaby liked. “Patiently waiting for @DUALIPA to pull her song with @DaBabyDaBaby off streaming services,” shared another, which ended up in Baby’s likes.

The one that people are talking about the most reads, “It’s funny how @DUALIPA song levitating is only number 1 because @DaBabyDaBaby is on it. You’re welcome. Because I deadass only heard of you because of Dababy.”

Dua Lipa has been culturally relevant for a minute, having an incredible Grammy campaign last year with her album Future Nostalgia. Check out some of DaBaby’s liked tweets about her below.
