Master P’s Brother C-Murder Claims Sealed Documents Hold Clues To His Freedom

Former No Limit rapper and brother of Master P, C-Murder, has been serving a life sentence behind bars for his alleged role in the murder of teenager Steve Thomas back in 2002. From the jump, C-Murder, whose real name is Corey Miller, has said he didn’t do it, and now he believes there’s real evidence out there that’s being purposely withheld that proves it.

In the wake of some major twists in his trial, which a witness is now saying he didn’t do it, C-Murder claims there are sealed documents that hold the clues to his freedom. In a press release from his publicist on Wednesday, obtained by HipHopDX, C-Murder alleges the existence of 31 concealed documents showing an illegal DNA cover-up that was not shown or presented during his trial.

He claims that when his DNA was run through the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) database, a match was found but the District Attorney directed that the data be taken out of the system and for it be marked as a forensic unknown. Miller is asking for a full investigation into “the corruption that led to his current incarceration” and that the press files a motion for the 31 documents to be given to him and his legal team. Of course, the courts don’t want that to happen and are reportedly fighting against the release of these documents.

“Half my life has been stolen by the Louisiana Judicial System and it stops now!” C-Murder said.

In addition, the press release claims C-Murder is partaking in a hunger strike at the moment in protest of the medical neglect that he and other inmates have been facing since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Since the onset of COVID-19, they have continued placing the inmates that have tested positive for the virus in the dorms with inmates that were COVID-19 negative,” he says. “This has not only spread the virus but has caused abnormally long quarantine times.”

We’ll continue to keep you posted on updates moving forward.

Fredo Bang Announces New Album: “Murder Made Me”

A few weeks ago, rising rapper Fredo Bang’s entire world was turned upside down when he was arrested ahead of his Rolling Loud performance due to an outstanding a from Louisiana. As previously reported, both Fredo and Lit Yoshi were detained in Miami, and it is believed that their arrests could have possibly stemmed from the 2019 shooting involving NBA YoungBoy which took place in Sunny Isles Beach.

Despite of his seemingly bleak legal situation, Fredo Bang has continued to give his fans new music, and now, days after releasing his “Street Team” single, the “Top” rapper has announced a surprise new album. Titled Murder Made Me, Fredo Bang’s highly anticipated project is set to feature guest appearances from artists such as Polo G, Coi Leray, Mozzy, and BIG30.

DaBaby Blackballed From Radio As “Levitating” Gets Pulled From Station Rotation

Following the industry-wide removal of DaBaby from music festival lineups around the world, the music industry has officially switched gears in its response to the KIRK rapper’s recent homophobic comments. Now, in addition to the festival cancellations, DaBaby will also feel the weight of his actions by experiencing a massive reduction in radio play.

According to Billboard, radio programmers like Audacy  have made the decision to remove DaBaby and Dua Lipa’s song “Levitating” from the airwaves “in light of [his] homophobic statements.”

The Dua Lipa and DaBaby collaboration was released last August, but the track has remained popular well into 2021. However, Billboard reports that “Levitating” has started to take a hit following DaBaby’s controversial Rolling Loud set last month, as the percentage of radio stations that aired the song has dropped from 70.2% to 49.5% over the past 10 days. Many stations across the country have since reverted back to playing the original version of “Levitating” that only featured Dua Lipa.

While data proves that radio stations and streaming playlist curators have made the effort to stop promoting the DaBaby-assisted version of “Levitating,” the track still sits at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. According to Uproxx, if the original version of “Levitating” does end up becoming the most prominent version of the song in terms of charting activity, it is possible for DaBaby’s credit to be removed from the song as it appears on the Hot 100 and other charts.

The Weeknd’s “Take My Breath” Video Pulled From Imax Theaters Rollout

The Weeknd is getting ready to premiere a new single this week, along with a new music video titled “Take My Breath,” which was first teased during the Olympics last week in a commercial. Dropping Friday, the plan was for Abel’s camp to roll out the music video on Imax Theaters ahead of The Suicide Squad movie, which is also releasing Thursday night at midnight, but unfortunately that’s not happening any more.

TMZ reports that the decision-makers over at IMAX have decided to pull plug on the video, citing the light and strobe effects have the potential to be dangerous to those watching with epilepsy and who might be prone to seizures.

Thankfully for fans the video will still drop on YouTube and other platforms right at midnight, but Abel is losing out on a shit ton of eyeballs who would’ve seen the video for free before the movie otherwise.

“Take My Breath” is the first release from The Weeknd’s upcoming album. “It’s the album I’ve always wanted to make,” he told GQ of the follow-up to 2020’s After Hours.

Eminem Contributes To A $30 Million Investment In An NFT Marketplace

Detroit icon Eminem has been one of the biggest proponents of the emerging technology of non-fungible tokens, auctioning off an NFT collection of comics, action figures, trading cards, and beats this past April. The collection drew in nearly $2 million in one weekend — which might be the reason why Eminem is now looking to invest further into the tech, announcing his participation in a $30 million round of fundraising for MakersPlace, an NFT marketplace where users can buy and sell the digital artwork.

MakersPlace, launched in 2018, announced the results of its fundraising efforts on its website, noting that Eminem was joined by other notable investors including his long-time manager Peter Rosenberg, NFL player Larry Fitzgerald, and Sony Music Entertainment. You’d have to imagine that now that Eminem and his co-investors have seen the money to be made selling NFTs, they’d want a piece of the digital forums that host the sales as well.

MakersPlace might be one of the most lucrative options. In March, Beeple sold “EVERYDAYS: THE FIRST 5000 DAYS,” a digital work created for Christie’s via MakersPlace, for the most expensive total an NFT sale has garnered to date, over $69 million.

Other artists to get into the NFT game include The Weeknd, Jack White, Gorillaz, and Jay-Z.

Quavo Bragged On Instagram That He Pays His Assistant $5,000 A Day

How in the world would fans find out the rate that Migos star Quavo pays his assistant you might ask? Well, the rapper himself bragged about the number on Instagram, of course. In a recent post, Quavo shared a photo of himself checking his phone outside while said assistant, one Joshua Washington, held an umbrella over his head to shield the sun and pointed a portable fan his way. Quavo tagged his assistant in the pic, and let fans know, his actions don’t go unappreciated.

Captioning the pic: “5k a Day My Asst. A Millionaire!” Quavo set off a whole conversation among Migos fans about the seemingly exorbitant rate. Then again, given how many stories we’ve heard about extremely wealthy celebrities treating their employees very poorly, this overpayment is a welcome rebuttal. Doing some quick calculations here about Mr. Washington’s total take home pay… if he makes $5,000 a day that’s $35,000 a week and $120,000 a month.

$120,000 annually is considered to be a pretty hefty salary in America, so multiply that 12 for each month and his total annual pay is $1,440,000. In which case, Quavo’s post is right, his assistant is most certainly a millionaire as he makes over a million in a year. Then again, maybe the daily rate is a sporadic one, and he’s not really working 365 like that. Let it be known, I too am available for assistant work if anyone in Migos is in LA for a few days without help and needs a hand.

Yung Bleu Does An Incredibly Accurate Impression Of Boosie Badazz

Yung Bleu is riding high off of the release of his official debut album, Moon Boy. The rapper’s new project dropped a few weeks ago and is likely going to maintain in steady rotation in the weeks to come. Unfortunately, this was one of the few projects from Bleu in recent years where he hasn’t included a feature from Boosie. It’s not due to any sort of friction but likely a calculated decision that would allow Bleu to step outside of Boosie’s shadow.

However, it seems that even in the case that Boosie never hopped on a track with Bleu again, his presence could still be felt. Bleu hit Instagram with a hilarious video this morning where he showcased his best impression of Boosie. The rapper turned on a Boosie-style beat and started flowing with the same vocal inflections as his mentor.

Bleu proposed that Boosie allow him to executive produce his next album, though obviously in jest. “Boosie let me executive produce the next album that bitch gone go dumb on Jesus,” he wrote.

Many were stunned at Yung Bleu’s ability to mimic Boosie Badazz’s vocal performance accurately. 2 Chainz dropped a laughing emoji with a fire emoji while Smooky Margielaa let Bleu know that he’s “impersonating this man too well.”

Check out Yung Bleu’s video below and sound off with your thoughts in the comment section.

Lloyd Banks Says What Everyone Is Thinking About The LOX & Dipset Verzuz

Tuesday night was one for the books. In perhaps one of its most engaging battles since its inception last year, Verzuz welcomed classic New York Hip-Hop groups The LOX and Dipset into the ring, and the battle was nothing short of captivating. In addition to revisiting throwback fan-favorite tracks from both groups, viewers were treated to quite the spectacle as well, as Jadakiss’ infectious energy led to a scene-stealing performance.

As a result, many people who watched the Verzuz have crowned Jadakiss and The LOX the undisputed champions over Dipset, but still, one fan on Twitter was curious as to what Lloyd Banks thought about the show.

“Banks, you watched the Lox v.Dipset versus last night ? what are your thoughts?” a fan asked the former G-Unit member on Twitter.

Apparently, the Course of the Inevitable rapper took a break from putting in work in “the lab” because he responded to the fan in a matter of hours. Rather than getting too deep into what he liked or disliked from the LOX v. Dipset matchup, however, Lloyd Banks got right to the point and revealed who the true winner during Tuesday’s Verzuz was.

“Amazing night for hip hop,” Lloyd banks says, perfectly summing up what pretty much every Hip-Hop enthusiast has likely been thinking about last night’s entertaining Verzuz battle between The LOX and Dipset.

Do you agree with Lloyd Banks’ take?
