Cochise Shows Off His Bootleg Yeezy Airpods On “In My Bag”

Cochise is not with all the flexing… yet. Once he starts seeing more of the money being made from his hit singles “Tell Em” featuring $NOT and “Hatchback,” the Jamaican-born rapper might start hitting up the designer store and showing out. For now though, he’s emptying out the contents of his Armani satchel and telling us all about his daily necessities on the latest episode of In My Bag.

The rising artist is definitely a pretty funny guy, as you’ll see in the video. He starts off by showing the camera his Airpods, which are his second pair after losing the last. He keeps them safe in a bootleg Yeezy Boost 350 case, which he specifies was bought from Amazon Prime, and not through Kanye. Then, he stunts with his inhaler, his mom’s Honda car keys, his wallet (which he bought from Ross), and his teeth.

This is a pretty short episode of In My Bag, but it’s also one of the most entertaining. Cochise is a funny character.

Mel Gibson & Addison Rae Boldly Embrace Trump At UFC 246

Most thought that former president Donald Trump would be hiding out at Mar-A-Lago for the foreseeable future but he showed face on Saturday at UFC 246. He is out of office, after all, so it seems that in between all of the lawsuits and criminal cases surrounding him and his team, he just wanted to sit back and see two guys pummel each other.

As you’d expect, not everyone was particularly enthusiastic about his presence but there were a few people who were. Mel Gibson was seemingly among those who offered a warm welcome to Trump. Video emerged that appears to show Mel Gibson giving Trump a military-style salute as he walked down the aisle. Interestingly enough, Gibson had previously expressed disapproval for Trump’s politics.

Another unexpected figure who approached Trump directly during the event was TikTok star, Addison Rae. She had already faced backlash for serving as a reporter for the event (and bragging about landing the gig after a short tenure in J-School). During the event, she’s seen going out of her way to introduce herself to Donald Trump. In a video titled, “Donald Trump Is Smashing Addison Rae” published by YouTube bloggers the Nelk boys, she’s seen tapping Trump on the shoulder before a quick exchange. “Hi,” she said. “I’m Addison. Nice to meet you, I have to say ‘hi.'”

Unfortunately, it’s unclear how Donald Trump responded to Rae but it should be noted that she previously denied supporting Trump. She found herself at the center of controversy on TikTok after she was accused of being a registered Republican. She also had to clarify that she didn’t own a MAGA flag in her room after fans suspected that she did.

Coi Leray Picked Apart On Twitter For XXL Freshman Cypher

You’ve got to feel for Coi Leray. She’s elevating to new heights in the music industry but she’s also learning how to deal with thousands of haters talking shit about everything she does. Whether she’s dancing on TikTok, frolicking about with her boyfriend Pressa, or releasing music, Coi’s comments have been filled with hate from all corners. The latest instance comes following her appearance on the XXL Freshman cypher with Morray, DDG, and Lakeyah. Fans disliked her bars so much that Coi is presently trending on Twitter with hundreds of hate comments popping up at the top of the trend.

The same people that have been shaming Coi because of the way she looks are currently attacking the 24-year-old rapper and calling her freestyle for the cypher “trash” among other insults. Some people are saying she did a worse job than Lil Mosey a few years ago, which is debatable. Others are laughing at her twerking at the end of the video, resorting to body-shaming once again.

It’s disturbing to see all of the rude comments that people feel entitled to share about Coi Leray, but if you’re not getting any hate, that means you’re probably not doing something right. Check out what people have been saying under the trend and watch the cypher above.

Coi Leray, DDG, Lakeyah, And Morray Kick Off The 2021 ‘XXL’ Freshman Cypher

Coi Leray, DDG, Lakeyah, and Morray kick off the 2021 XXL Freshman Cyphers for this year’s class, each bringing their own unique style to a beat produced by algorithm master Nick Mira. DDG opens proceedings with a typical West Coast/Michigan swing flow, then cedes the floor to Lakeyah, who undoubtedly delivers the best straight-up rap verse, hunting for the sort of credit that only comes from being an expert technician. Morray splits the balance between his signature crooning and some off-the-dome rhymes bigging up his cohorts.

That leaves Coi Leray, who is quite possibly the most controversial addition to this year’s list. Despite having three years of tried-and-true material including a handful of viral hits to her name, it was her song “No More Parties” that first exposed her to the wider mainstream audience, drawing comparisons to both Dej Loaf and Playboi Carti in the process. It’s also, oddly enough, the song least like the bulk of her output, so it seemed going in that the Cypher would be her chance to lay skeptics’ doubts to rest.

She absolutely does not do that, instead opting for a choppy, Carti-esque delivery on a relatively short verse that does little to allay the concerns about her placement before giving up and resorting to her trademark twerking. It’s an unusual choice for a rapper who is under fire and facing a make-or-break moment with all eyes on her. While it’s pioneering, to be sure (Megan Thee Stallion once pointed out that a female rapper would face a ton of criticism for rapping like Playboi Carti, and for all intents, it appears she was correct), and a boundary has been broken to allow women to branch out more stylistically, I can see Coi taking a lot more fire now — with this verse undermining much of the evidence that supporters could use to defend her.

It’ll be interesting to see how this Cypher will be received on social media as well as how it affects future installments and the ongoing debate about whether the Freshman Class even needs a Cypher anymore.

Billie Eilish, Lorde, And Lizzo Will Headline Global Citizen’s 24-Hour Livestream

In April of 2020, international advocacy organization Global Citizen urged people to stay at home to stop the spread of COVID by tapping some of today’s biggest artists for their Together At Home livestream. Now, Global Citizen is announcing another livestream, this time aimed at urging major corporations and foundations to donate funds to deliver COVID vaccines to the vulnerable and help end global poverty.

Global Citizen Live is a 24-hour livestream filmed in several countries across six continents. Kicking off on Saturday, September 24, the concert will feature headliners Billie Eilish, Lorde, and Lizzo, among others, and take place in cities across the world like Lagos, Rio de Janeiro, New York City, Paris, London, Seoul, LA, and Sydney.

Along with Eilish, Lizzo, and Lorde, some other artists set to perform include Adam Lambert, Alessia Cara, Andrea Bocelli, Angélique Kidjo, BTS, Burna Boy, Camila Cabello, Coldplay, Christine And The Queens, Davido, Demi Lovato, DJ Snake, Doja Cat, Duran Duran, Ed Sheeran, Femi Kuti, Green Day, HER, Hugh Jackman & Deborra-lee Furness, Keith Urban, Lang Lang, Metallica, Rag’n’Bone Man, Ricky Martin, Shawn Mendes, The Lumineers, The Weeknd, Tiwa Savage, Usher, and more.

In a statement about Global Citizen Live‘s mission, Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans detailed the devastating affects of COVID across the globe:

“COVID-19 has drastically reversed the progress toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals pushing upwards of 160 million people back into extreme poverty. There are now more than 40 million people on the brink of famine. Progress on climate change has halted, as the majority of the Fortune 500 fail to set science-based carbon reduction targets. We must rectify the damage done and hold world leaders and businesses accountable for ensuring that the entire world recovers from this pandemic together. ‘Equitable recovery’ is not an act of charity — it is the only way we can ensure a fighting chance at achieving a sustainable world free from extreme poverty.”

Echoing Evans’ statement, The Weeknd said he’s honored to join the livestream. “It is very important to me to be a part of this historic event to spread awareness and encourage action toward helping the people of Ethiopia during this devastating humanitarian crisis they are faced with,” he said. “It’ll be an honor to perform and help bring support to these citizens who are suffering so severely.”

Some of the artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Triller Is Seeking A Resident DJ For “Verzuz” With $1M Annual Salary

Verzuz held us down throughout the pandemic but with things opening back up, it looks like Triller is getting ready for full-fledged packed audiences at their live shows. According to Complex, Triller is in search of their first-ever resident DJ who will be handling massive events like Triller Live, Verzuz, Triller Fight Club, and more. What’s even better about this opportunity is that there’s a $1M annual salary attached to the position.

Fortunately, they aren’t solely seeking DJs with years of experience, but rather, “aspiring DJs from around the world.”

“We’re excited to help find Triller’s new Resident DJ, which will be a DJ gig like no other,” Swizz and Timbo, co-founders of Verzuz said in a statement. “The Verzuz audience knows what’s up, so when the voting begins you can be sure the winning DJ will be someone who has all the right stuff. We can’t wait to discover the next superstar behind the decks.”

Verzuz will host an event where selected DJs will have to impress the viewers at home who will ultimately cast their votes. Participants are asked to upload five-minute sets to the platform using the #TrillerDJ hashtag. Then, 16 finalists will be chosen on Aug. 8th before they compete against each other on Sept. 10th at TrillerVerz weekend.

“We’re looking for a performer at heart, someone with a big personality, incredible personal flair, and technical skills to match; someone who not only has his, her or their finger on the pulse of music and culture, but who is also creating it,” Triller executive chairman Bobby Sarnevesht said. “We cannot wait to discover the next superstar behind the decks and have them join our incredible Triller team. To all of you DJs around world, it’s time to show us your stuff!”

Burger King Sign Goes Viral After Announcing “All” Employees Quit

“SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE” read a Lincoln Burger King’s marquee this past weekend until management saw it fit to finally take it down.

Based on The Mercury’s source, workers grew tired and weary over lengthy shifts being accompanied by a horrendous environment.

Rachael Flores, former manager of this specific establishment, spoke about its horrible working conditions, mentioning she’s found herself in the hospital on account of dehydration and working with absolutely no air conditioning.

The general manager went on to say that those working above her are corroding the workplace, lamenting, “They have gone through so many district managers since I’ve been GM. No one has come to the store to help me out. They’re so in and out.” Atop of that, the manager was forced by her employers to take the sign down in order not to drive customers away from Burger King. Upon a lack of hiring at this location prior to this instance, it’s clear to assume that they won’t be getting many applications and resumés going forward this summer.

It’s vile to think what these fast-food chains often tend to do to their workers, as it’s quite literally the fast-food equivalent of solid management: shitty. Nevertheless, it’s great for people like Rachael Flores to show these suits whose boss, or manager, or whatever.

Sha’Carri Richardson Will Race In August Following Olympics Suspension

Following her controversial suspension from the Tokyo Olympics after a positive test for marijuana last month, U.S. track star Sha’Carri Richardson will hit the track again at the Prefontaine Classic on August 21. She will be participating in the 100 meters and 200 meters races at the Pre Classic, as it begins a post-Olympic sequence of meets. It is typically a rarity for a runner to race two high-octane events on the same day, but Richardson hopes to put on a show in racing both events on the same day.

“I’m looking forward to running fast and putting on a show,” Richardson said in a press release for the event.

At the U.S. Olympic Trials less than a month ago, Richardson recorded a sizzling 10.64 in the 100 meter semi-finals, and took home the win during the final with a time of 10.86, to stamp her ticket to Tokyo. After learning of her biological mother’s death while in Oregon for the Trials, she used marijuana to cope, which led to her positive test, suspension and ban from participating in the Tokyo Olympics. She was said to be the U.S. team’s greatest chance at taking home the gold medal in the women’s 100 meters for the first time since 1996.

The LSU star alum had sent waves across the sports community with her talents on the field, and she had been praised for her unapologetic showmanship during races. Many important figures in popular culture came out in support of Richardson following her suspension and most asserted that she should still be able to run at the Olympics, implying a double standard about how marijuana policies tend to affect individuals of color more harshly.

Richardson’s suspension is set to end in two weeks on July 28, and she will start participating in these Diamond League meets sponsored by Nike, which she is also under as one of their athletes. Race participants have yet to be announced, but it is assumed that medalists from the Olympics will participate in order for fans to see how Richardson will have fared against the competition she was set to face in Tokyo.

Are you excited to see Sha’Carri race again? Let us know in the comments.
