NBA Youngboy Allegedly Turned Down Lil Baby Feature For No Good Reason

Youngboy Never Broke Again is in a world of his own. The 21-year-old rapper is seemingly so disconnected from the world around him that’s he’s been unintentionally disrespectful toward a number of heavy hitters in the music business. This week, it was revealed that Youngboy allegedly left J. Cole hanging for eight hours at the studio before no-showing, which DJ Akademiks claimed in a recent live-stream. In a similar fashion, the hip-hop media personality also spoke about any potential collaboration plans between YB and Atlanta rapper Lil Baby, noting that Baby already reached out to the star.

During another live-stream, Akademiks said, “Youngboy told me when Lil Baby hit him up for a feature. I remember he told me, ‘Ak, I’m not doing music right now’. And I remember saying, ‘Youngboy, if you don’t f*cking do a song with Lil Baby, n***a…’ ‘Cause I gave him a whole list, I remember I sat in the car with him, I told him a whole list of n***as who he should do songs with. And I remember him telling me, ‘You know I can’t do a song with him’. He was telling me all type of beefs, I was like, I didn’t know the beef was that deep. I get it. But I’m telling you the facts. This n***a Youngboy, he don’t care about that sh*t. I remember telling him, this is a no f*cking brainer. And he was just like, ‘bro, I don’t care’.”

Akademiks says that was the moment he realized that Youngboy is “on a different kind of time”.

Considering how accurate Ak’s information has been recently, including with Playboi Carti’s release date, Drake’s new music, and more, it’s likely that he’s telling the truth about this. He’s had a close relationship with Youngboy over the years.

What do you make of this, especially after the news that he also ghosted J. Cole for eight hours?

Jake Paul Claps Back At Dana White’s Blatant Disrespect

Dana White has never been a big fan of Jake Paul and now that he’s going up a former UFC fighter in Ben Askren, White is even more brazen with his hatred. For instance, White was recently on Mike Tyson’s podcast, which also featured the likes of former boxer Zab Judah. During the conversation, White was extremely dismissive of Paul and even claimed that he would bet seven figures on the fight. Tyson and Judah defended Paul but White did not want to hear it.

“Let’s be honest, Jake Paul isn’t a f**king boxer. This guy is a fucking YouTube kid,” White said. “I hope you can bet on this thing because I will bet ONE MILLION DOLLARS that he loses this f**king fight.”

Paul was quick to react to White’s slander as he immediately took to Instagram where he challenged White to double his money. Needless to say, Paul is confident that he’s got this fight in the bag.

“Dana let’s double the bet up! $2 Million. We wire the money into escrow. $4 million total. Winner takes all. My team will be in touch to make a contract. After I knockout Ben, we can set up Jake Paul Vs. Dana White 2021 since you consider yourself a “Boxer” and me a “YouTuber,” Paul said.

It remains to be seen whether or not White will take this challenge, but if he stands by his words, then it would certainly make sense to double up. Not to mention, even if White loses the bet, it’s not like he’ll go broke.

Lil Durk & Lil Baby Apply Pressure: “So Soon…”

The collaborative rap album is one of those things that tend to draw more excitement in theory than it does in practice. Often, the end results seldom live up to the hype surrounding the names involved. We saw as much during the great collaborative onslaught of ’17, a year that seemed to bring damn near every emcee together to varying results. Still, it goes without saying that an alliance between two beloved artists will always be met with optimism — even if it is of a cautious variety.

A few days ago, Lil Baby and Lil Durk dropped the bombshell that they were indeed sitting on a joint tape, with the former actively pushing for an imminent release. At this moment both artists are among the game’s most popular; Baby’s My Turn remains a commercial mainstay and Durk’s The Voice has all but cemented the Chicago rapper as a superstar. The idea that they would come through with a joint mixtape and apply further pressure is certainly interesting, and any release from the duo would likely prove formidable on the charts.

Though Durk himself has been relatively quiet about the collaborative project, Baby has been actively stirring up hype, taking to Instagram to tease that the music would be landing “So Soon…” Of course, rap fans have been conditioned to question the meaning behind soon, which could mean anything from several days to several months. Don’t be surprised to see Lil Baby and Lil Durk come through in the near future — are you excited to see what they’ve been cooking up?

Justin Bieber Shares A Tracklist For ‘Justice’ And Fans Are Intrigued By One Song In Particular

Justin Bieber’s tracklist for Justice, which he shared on Instagram last night, has fans buzzing with excitement. In part, it’s because the album is just a week and some change away from its March 19 release date, but many fans took note of some of the notable guests, who include R&B singers Daniel Caesar, Giveon, and Khalid, as well as Chance The Rapper. Juice WRLD protege The Kid Laroi appeared on Justin’s corkboard as well, inviting some pretty apt comparisons between the two artists despite their generation gap.

While fans had previously deciphered some of Justin’s collaborators via the synopsis on the Walmart pre-order page for the album, this is the first glimpse we’ve had at who all’s on which tracks — and seeing Daniel Caesar and Giveon’s smooth baritones grouped together on “Peaches” has prompted its share of enthusiastic reactions. Both Caesar and Giveon’s names trended on Twitter as fans expressed their anticipation to hear that particular melange of voices together for the first time.

One fan, however, was skeptical of Caesar’s placement, demanding an “apology” before they’ll grudgingly give the song a listen. Caesar was the subject of some controversy a couple of years ago after he dared fans to “cancel” him for defending influencer YesJulz from accusations of cultural appropriation. However, others seemed sanguine, pointing out his continued popularity in the years since.

One thing is for sure, though: Fans are ready to hear Justice when it releases 3/19 on Def Jam.

LaMarcus Aldridge & Spurs Part Ways, Gregg Popovich Reacts

LaMarcus Aldridge and the San Antonio Spurs have had a lengthy relationship with one another although with Aldridge getting up there in age, it’s clear that things have deteriorated a bit. The star is now 35 years old and over the past few months, it seemed inevitable that the two sides would be going their separate ways. On Wednesday, those rumors were confirmed as Gregg Popovich revealed that Aldridge and the team would be moving on from one another.

Popovich was quick to point out that Aldridge has been the ultimate professional throughout this entire process and that there are no hard feelings whatsoever. This was strictly a basketball decision for both sides, and moving forward, the Spurs are looking for a way to get Aldridge on a new team.

“He’s been a great teammate. No problem there,” Popovich said. “We just think this is a win-win for both LaMarcus and the club. When an opportunity arises, that’ll be up to management, his agent and that sort of thing, and we’ll all move forward. We’ve mutually agreed for him to work on some opportunities elsewhere. He’s done everything we’ve asked. At this point, we’d just like to do something that will work for him as much for our club, because he deserves that.”

It’s always good to see a player and the organization get along during these hard times, and by the looks of it, Aldridge will have no issues finding a new team to take him in.

Stay tuned for updates related to Aldridge, as we will be sure to keep you informed.

Sage The Gemini & Chris Brown Connect On “Baby”

Sage The Gemini has officially connected with Chris Brown to bless his new single “Baby” with some dulcet tones. Following a recently-teased snippet of the Superiors-laced track, the song has officially landed in select international markets, with a full release set to hit DSPs tomorrow. Musically, the track provides both artists with space to flex their respective styles, though the up-tempo production does give this one a decidedly radio-friendly feel.

“Whole minute on the ‘Gram, you know I keep a full clip,” raps Sage, in the opening verse. “Every time I hit, I do some new shit / I go down, she speaks in tongues / Now I’m preachin’ from the pulpit.” In Breezy’s case, he makes sure to outline some of his driving philosophies, which paint monogamy as a bit of a one-sided concept. “She do not see other men, but my baby understands a man gon’ be a man,” he sings, all but shrugging on wax. In addition to previous collaborations “Buss It,” “Outy When I Drive / Blamed,” and the Tank-assisted “#BDay,” Baby makes for another strong outing from Breezy and Sage.

Be sure to check this one out now, and sound off if you’re feeling this melodically-charged meeting of the minds.

DaBaby Responds To Viral Grandma Who Called Him Ugly

With the rise of TikTok as the latest social media platform to take over and command our attention, there have been a few viral videos of people making their grandparents rate rappers by their looks. The formula is seemingly foolproof, especially if you’ve got a grandmother that’s as expressive as the woman going viral right now for her reactions to DaBaby, Snoop Dogg, and plenty of other rappers.

Judging a group of rappers solely by their looks and without their musical prowess in mind, one woman’s grandmother shared her truth as she seemingly trashed everybody that came into the picture… except for Uncle Snoop. The video, in which the grandmother rates Rod Wave a 1/10, Lil Durk a 0/10, and Lil Baby a 5/10 for his dimples, has been picking up in views, with DaBaby and Snoop chiming in with their own reactions to it.

“Granny Rated,” boasted Snoop, reposting the video after receiving a 15/10 on her test. Snoop was the only rapper that the woman lit up for. DaBaby was the first to receive the underwhelming score of 1/10, which prompted him to respond in the comments. “Damn gma,” he wrote. “Yeen got no love for baby?”

Watch the funny video up top. Last year, a similar video went viral as a different woman lusted over Dave East, A$AP Rocky, Chris Brown, and others. Read about that here.

Dr. Dre, Notorious B.I.G, & King Tee Were Supposed To Collaborate

Though Dr. Dre has collaborated with damn near every legendary emcee in the rap game, he never ended up connecting with The Notorious B.I.G. At least, no actual music from the pair has ever surfaced; it should be noted that Rick Ross previously teased an unreleased collaboration between Dre and Biggie, telling Angie Martinez that curious parties should ask P Diddy about that particular vaulted cut. While many still cite the feud between the East and West Coast that transpired prior to Big’s death, all signs point to a mutual interest in collaboration between the Bad Boy rapper and the ex-Death Row producer.

In fact, Dr. Dre’s former protege Hittman, who played a pivotal role in the creation of the classic 2001 read his own words on the process right here — recently shared an interesting tidbit about a posse cut that might have been. One that involved Dre, Biggie, and West Coast veteran King Tee, whose distinctive flow shares a similar bounce to the Brooklyn legend. In fact, Big is said to have held King Tee in high regard, having once praised the rapper as a primary influence.

“From what Mel-Man told me, Biggie was supposed to meet up with Dre at Creep Alley the following night about a possible collabo with him and King Tee,” reveals H.I.T.T.M.A.N, responding to a tweet from KXNG Crooked. “Can you imagine that?!” Interestingly enough, this revelation is in line with the one issued by Rick Ross, fueling speculation that Dre and Biggie were actively able to collaborate, though it’s highly unlikely we’ll ever hear the results.

Still, it’s nice to know that Dre, Biggie, and King Tee were able to rise above a coastal feud, and were they to have actually linked up, you’d have to bet that an absolute flow clinic would ensue.

Check out H.I.T.T’s tweet on the topic below.
