DaBaby Earns Backlash After Spewing Homophobic Hate At Rolling Loud

What was the point of going on this rant, DaBaby? The Charlotte-raised rapper has become the villain in recent months and during his performance at Rolling Loud last night, he seemingly embraced the role by going on a disturbing homophobic rant, while also bringing out Tory Lanez to perform with him mere moments after Megan Thee Stallion got off stage.

Perhaps the person who threw a shoe at DaBaby during his performance on Sunday night was doing the lord’s work because the rapper went on an unfiltered rant against the LGBTQ+ community, singling out gay men and anyone who has AIDS or HIV.

“If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases, that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up,” said DaBaby during his concert. “Ladies, if your pussy smell like water, put your cellphone light in the air. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking dick in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”

A man, seemingly his DJ, followed up his unprompted comments with more hate, saying, “Let’s be real about this shit, some of y’all n****s suspect as a motherfucker.”

Sounds like projection to me. Why was this even on his mind during the performance? Nah, let’s be real about this, there was legitimately no reason for these comments. Homophobia in the hip-hop community needs to end. We need to catch up to the rest of the world because this rant is simply embarrassing.

Vince Staples Reflects On How Mac Miller Changed His Life

During his lifetime, Mac Miller impacted the lives of many of his peers. He brought EarthGang on their first tour. He bonded and worked with Earl Sweatshirt after the rapper returned from a brief hiatus. And as it happens, he also played a pivotal role in helping Vince Staples’ own rap career take shape, as the Long Beach emcee explained during a recent Drink Champs appearance.

“Earl had come back and I was moving around with him making sure you know he was straight and shit,” explains Vince, who had yet to really dive into pursuing music on a serious level. “I introduced myself to him and he was like, ‘I know who you are. Why don’t you make beats or whatever? Why don’t you make music?’ I say ‘I don’t got any beats.’ He’s like, ‘aight, I’ll make you some beats, come over here on Friday.’ And that’s how we ended up making music and being cool.”

Mac fans already know all about Larry Fisherman. During the era Vince is speaking on, Mac was basically living in the studio, working on music with Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler, The Creator, ScHoolboy Q, and more. This period also saw the releases of some of Mac’s most beloved works — Watching Movies With The Sound Off, Faces, and even the cult-favorite Delusional Thomas.

“He took me on tour and he didn’t want no publishing,” Vince revealed. “He said, ‘If you make a million dollars buy me an S-Class Benz or something like that.’ The whole Stolen Youth project, he gave me ownership of it. He just said if you if you make a gang of money just give me like an S-Class — and then took me on the road and paid for my room and board and still paid me. So yeah you know that was the homie.”

He goes even further to provide additional context, revealing that Mac’s generosity arose during a dark period in Vince’s life. “He did more for me…in the time of my life when I needed it,” Vince explained. “At that point I already put two music projects out and I wasn’t fucking with it. I was like I’m gonna go back to what I know type shit. My cousin just got shot and he almost died so that turned it all the way up for me you know. My focus wasn’t on music at all.”

Simone Biles Makes History With Her Very Own Twitter Emoji

Simone Biles is one of the greatest Olympic athletes of all time and she is certainly one of the greatest gymnasts of all time as well. As a member of the US Olympic team, Biles has been through a lot although she has persevered to become a dominant athlete in all of her respective domains. Now, Biles is in Tokyo for yet another Summer Games and she is expected to show off that dominant form, once again, and deliver a few more gold medals to the Olympic team.

The fanfare surrounding Biles has been pretty astounding as there is no doubt she is a fan-favorite. While sports like basketball and soccer typically get all of the attention, Biles has made gymnastics a must-watch event, which is a pretty special talent.

To commemorate Biles’ latest Olympic endeavor, Twitter has decided to make history by giving Biles her very own emoji whenever someone uses the hashtag “#simonebiles.” As you can see below, the hashtag is a little picture of an anthropomorphic goat doing a gymnastics routine. Biles is the first Olympian to be given such an honor and she is also the first female athlete to get one, as well.

Needless to say, fans are excited about what Biles could potentially do during the games, and she will certainly be an athlete to watch throughout the entire competition.

Ben Simmons Has Reportedly Ghosted The Sixers

Ben Simmons has been slandered quite a bit over the past few months and it is all thanks to his performances in the playoffs. While Joel Embiid was carrying the Philadelphia 76ers on his back, Simmons could be found putting up anemic numbers that had fans wondering where the superstar player went wrong. With a lack of confidence and shooting ability plaguing his career, there are those who believe Simmons needs some new scenery if he wants to go back to his old ways.

While the Sixers originally said they wanted to ride things out with Simmons, it appears as though various teams are trying to make a play for the star player. The Sixers have been entertaining numerous offers and now, it seems like a trade could be imminent, especially with this latest development.

According to Jake Fischer from Bleacher Report, Simmons has pretty well ghosted the team and won’t return the Sixers’ phone calls. At this point, the Sixers don’t know what to do, and a trade could be the only option available.

Per Fischer:

“I’m not gonna write this in the story, but I’ll tell this to you guys and you guys can do what you want with it. They haven’t been able to really even get in touch with Ben since the season ended. Like, there was an intent to have a workout plan or whatever — like in any offseason…It just doesn’t sound like there’s ever been movement to come together on the same page to do that, and it hasn’t really worked this summer either.”

This is bad news for the Sixers, although if they really want to get rid of Simmons, then it could be a blessing in disguise. As of today, teams such as the Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, and Toronto Raptors are all showing interest in the star.

DaBaby Brought Out Tory Lanez At Rolling Loud And Megan Thee Stallion Fans Are Livid

It looks like the return of live shows has deepened the rift between former friends and collaborators DaBaby and Megan Thee Stallion rather than bringing them closer to reconciliation. Despite being booked just one set after Meg at this past weekend’s Rolling Loud festivities, DaBaby used the opportunity to reinforce his position, aligning himself closer to disgraced Canadian rapper Tory Lanez by bringing him out to perform their collaboration, “SKAT.”

This is, of course, after Megan Thee Stallion accused Tory of shooting her last summer after a Hollywood party. Since then, Tory has maintained his innocence — although he’s yet to offer a satisfactory alternative explanation in many fans’ eyes — and the two had settled into a chilly silence, which Lanez occasionally broke to offer more suggestions that he was “framed” and Megan is lying. However, the simmering feud threatened to boil over when Tory shared a snippet of his and DaBaby’s “SKAT” video in January.

That led to Megan’s fans condemning DaBaby for working with someone they see as her abuser, although Megan stepped in at the time to clarify that the song was recorded prior to her getting shot and that DaBaby had withdrawn his support for the song. But then, the video was finally released in June, prompting a very public falling out between the two former friends as DaBaby tried to claim neutrality and Megan expressed her feelings of betrayal.

DaBaby, ever the contrarian, appears to have doubled down by bringing out Tory to perform with him at Rolling Loud, which included a theatrical reveal from within a DaBaby mascot costume. Video of the reveal on social media sparked a similar response to the one in January, but it doesn’t seem likely that Megan will come to DaBaby’s defense this time.

Moneybagg Yo Names The Two Biggest Albums Of The Year

We’re already over the year’s halfway point, and discussion surrounding the album of the year has already begun to heat up. We’ve already seen several strong contenders emerge, with strong releases from J. Cole, Tyler, The Creator, Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher, Moneybagg Yo, Pooh Shiesty, Polo G, Lloyd Banks, and many more.

Now, Moneybagg Yo has offered up his own assessment of the year thus far, taking to Twitter to highlight the two biggest albums of the year. Like any good rapper, he made sure to stand proudly behind his work, the acclaimed A Gangsta’s Pain.

Released in April, the project features guest appearances from Polo G, Future, Lil Durk, Jhené Aiko, and more. In fact, a report from earlier this month confirmed that of all the albums released in 2021, Moneybagg Yo’s Gangsta’s Pain is the highest-selling rap album.

He also threw his support behind Pooh Shiesty’s Shiesty Season, which spawned the hard-hitting anthem “Back In Blood.” Though Pooh Shiesty currently sits incarcerated, the momentum of “Back In Blood” propelled the 1017 signee to new career heights, bringing no shortage of new eyes onto his studio debut. Clearly, Shiesty Season left an impression on Moneybagg Yo, who made sure to give his fellow Memphis representative a shout-out on Twitter.

“Can’t believe me & @pooh_shiesty made the 2 biggest albums this year,” he reflects. “#FreeDetMan #Memphis.” While that’s not to say he means the best, it’s certainly implied — do you think Moneybagg Yo’s confident assessment has merit?
