Lil Nas X Said He Can’t Reveal How He Got Kanye To Produce His New Single ‘Industry Baby’

In a new interview with Youtuber Kerwin Frost, Lil Nas X does what he does best — creates hype. Though we already knew that Kanye had been involved with Nas X’s latest single, “Industry Baby,” as a producer on the record, we don’t know how the two got involved. And when Frost tries to ask the young rapper about how the connection went down, he refuses to reveal it! Of course, only making everyone that much more curious.

“How did that happen? I actually can’t tell you,” Nas begins (around 25:10 if you want to follow along in the interview). “I can’t, not yet at least. It’s just like a thing, you want to protect connections. We talked, he’s a pretty cool guy, super down to earth. He’s super talented. He showed me some stuff. He’s working on some great music. It’s nice to work with somebody who’s done that for so long, so much longevity and still going. And like constantly evolving. Not even just evolving, but completely changing into something else… he’s also doing something different and new. Over and over and over again recreating himself.”

Well, that does keep it pretty cryptic, but maybe what Nas can’t reveal yet is that he has more new music coming with Kanye. Or maybe a third party introduced them and and song with all three artists is coming soon. Either way, working with Kanye is another feather in Lil Nas X cap, and while he’s readying his debut album, odds are there will be plenty more dramatic moments along the way.

Post Malone’s Posty Fest Is Set To Return To Arlington, Texas In 2021

As the coronavirus pandemic shut down live entertainment in 2020, Post Malone was among the artists who were forced to cancel his fan-oriented festival. However, there’s some good news for those fans who missed out last year: Dates have been set for Posty Fest‘s return. The third annual event will take place October 30-31, 2021, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, and it marks the first time the festival will take place over a full weekend. Pre-sale begins July 29 at 10 am local time while general sale opens up on Friday, July 30. You can get more information here.

In addition to bringing back his personal festival, the Dallas native has been scheduled to play a number of big-name festivals throughout the year. This past weekend, he took the stage at Rolling Loud Miami‘s comeback show and this weekend, he’s billed as one of the headliners of Lollapalooza in Chicago. In September, you can catch him at Governor’s Ball in New York City.

Meanwhile, he’s been promoting a new song, which could potentially be the lead single to one of two albums he’s rumored to have planned this year. “Motley Crew” finds Post returning to a rap-centric sound after experimenting with country and rock styles on his last album, Beerbongs & Bentleys, and featured a NASCAR-themed music video and a limited-edition merch collection with Siberia Hills.

Conway The Machine Trolled For Wearing A Skirt In New Picture

Conway The Machine is known for his gritty bars, his impeccable storytelling, and his superior rapping skills. The Griselda rapper is one of the most technically skilled rappers on the planet, impressing with each and every new release. Alongside his half-brother Westside Gunn, he’s also become somewhat of a style icon in the last few years, welcoming all of the hottest designers into his wardrobe and showing off his personal fashion whenever he steps out. This week, he made a style choice that didn’t sit well with his core fanbase, and he’s getting picked apart in the comments for it.

Posting a picture of himself in the hotel lobby this morning, Conway wore multiple chains around his neck, a black t-shirt, and what appears to be an Alexander McQueen skirt. He may have been wearing a towel wrapped around his waist but regardless, the fashion choice wasn’t widely accepted by his fans.

“Is that a skirt bro???” asked one surprised fan. “Say whatever you want… but thats cornyAF,” added another fan, who seemingly wasn’t feeling the skirt. “Oh we wearing skirts now…..aiight…I think ima head out,” said somebody else, reconsidering his support of the rapper. “The weakest I’ve ever seen this man .. crazy how the music industry can flip you,” complained a fourth fan.

His comments are filled with complaints right now, and it’s all because the man chose to wear a damn skirt. Previously, artists like Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, Kid Cudi, and A$AP Rocky have pushed gender boundaries through their fashion choices, but there’s still a stigma surrounding gendered clothing. Are you surprised that Conway is getting flack for this?

Tory Lanez Sounds Off On Megan Thee Stallion Allegations

Whether you love him or you hate him, Tory Lanez continues to make his presence in Hip-Hop known, even as he is currently fighting charges relating to the infamous alleged shooting altercation between him and Megan Thee Stallion last summer.

From his ongoing commentary about cancel culture to his surprise, and potentially illegal, appearance during DaBaby’s set at Rolling Loud this past weekend, Tory Lanez knows how to command a headline. Yet in an effort to do so while bringing up the current state of Hip-Hop, it seems to have backfired on the once-beloved Chixtape artist

That tweet sparked a ton of backlash from fans on Twitter who inherently thought that Tory was referencing artists like DaBabyT.I., and Boosie Badazz, who have recently been blasted for some homophobic and misinformed remarks. According to the DAYSTAR artist that wasn’t necessarily the case, but that didn’t stop a fan from correlating the contentious tweet to his alleged shooting of Megan Thee Stallion last July.

Tory has maintained that he is being framed for the incident despite his inability to publicly talk in-depth about it due to a gag order, but apparently, that fan really touched a nerve because the Canadian rapper didn’t hesitate to respond. “Since when have u had ACTUAL evidence that I did that ???” he refutes. “I’ll wait ..”

Clearly, Tory Lanez had some time on his hands today because in a slew of additional tweets, the PLAYBOY artist spoke recklessly about “not [giving] a f*ck” about his gag order and going back and forth with Twitter users about cancel culture. See everything that Tory Lanez had to say

More than a year later following the incident, Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion’s legal dispute continues, so stay tuned as the Hip-Hop community awaits more updates surrounding that fateful night in Los Angeles last summer.

Morray Might Have The Funniest Episode Of “Snack Review” Ever

Morray’s energy is infectious– even through a screen. The rising rapper from North Carolina is having an incredible year, releasing his debut project Street Sermons and featuring on the latest J. Cole album. He’s earned co-signs from some of the biggest names in hip-hop and this year, he was named to the XXL Freshman list. As he continues to convert his listeners into lifelong fans, Morray came through for the latest episode of Snack Review, which might be the funniest one ever.

It starts out with Morray testing out the Koikeya Potato Chips, which made him explode into a fit of laughter before even tasting them. Expecting to hate them, he quickly learned that they tasted like his favorite Rap Snacks flavor and told us he would be bringing the rest home. Then, he complimented Lindt on their chocolate carrot with hazelnut packaging, giving the branding a 10/10 but ultimately being unimpressed with the taste of the chocolate.

Before trying each new snack, Morray’s laughter radiated through the room, and it will surely bring a smile to your face. Watching this episode, you can tell that the man is happy to be in the position he’s been blessed with. He’s one of the most humble rising stars in the game, for sure.

EST Gee Continues His Breakout Run With The Opulent ‘Riata Dada’ Video

Louisville rapper EST Gee has been full steam ahead promoting his new project, Bigger Than Life Or Death, putting out a string of videos for the mixtape’s songs, including the self-titled lead single, “Capitol 1,” and “Price Tag.” His latest addition to the growing videography is “Riata Dada,” a bass-heavy, clamoring banger featuring his favorite things: Fast cars, chunky jewelry, stacks of cash, and scantily-clad women.

Built atop a cacophonous beat by Akachi, Southside, TM88, and TooDope (the number one producers perhaps explains the cascading, competing synth sounds), “Riata Dada” is a chorus-less, one-verse statement from EST Gee. Throughout the verse, he explains everything from why he signed with Yo Gotti over some other higher-profile labels (“If I wasn’t this, then I probably been done signed with DJ Drama/ But I’m thuggin’ and I’m shinin’, f*ck with coke, I roll with Gotti”) to whether or not he really even considers himself a rapper (“Did I really leave the streets alone to rap? I ain’t decided”).

EST Gee signing with Yo Gotti has given the CMG label a strong, stacked roster that has been racking up wins all year, including Moneybagg Yo’s No. 1, 42 Dugg’s XXL Freshman selection, and a label deal with Universal.

Anderson .Paak & Bruno Mars Tease New Silk Sonic This Week

It feels like the game isn’t quite ready for whatever Silk Sonic has been cooking up. At least, the Billboard charts certainly aren’t. Though Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars have kept a relatively low profile ever since the release of “Leave The Door Open,” they haven’t really needed to move forward with another single.

After all, their only drop as a duo has remained a mainstay on the Hot 100, sitting pretty in the twelfth position at the time of this writing. Though they probably could have ridden the single for the duration of the year, there is an album on the way, though little detail has been released on that front.

Today, Anderson .Paak confirmed that he and his multitalented counterpart will be releasing something this Friday, though it’s not entirely clear as to what’s on the docket. “You’ve been invited to Silk Sonic’s Summertime Jam this Friday,” reads an intriguing flyer. To make things more intriguing, .Paak offered up a few roller-skate emojis for good measure.

Now, the natural guess would be that Silk Sonic is readying a single called “Summertime Jam,” and a roller-disco video would certainly be on-brand for the nostalgic duo. Either way, we won’t have to wait much longer to see what’s in store. Check back this coming Friday for a new release from Silk Sonic, and stay tuned for more news on their anticipated new album. When that does drop, expect it to be a radio mainstay for years to come.

Chicago Rapper SoloSam Releases New Single “Motorbike Freestyle”

Chicago rapper SoloSam remains one of the most skilled storytellers on the underground scene, showing off his sharp flows over a mid-tempo beat for “Motorbike Freestyle.”

The rapper has been rising up for the last few years, becoming a creative staple in Chicago’s underground rap scene, always putting on for his city. Following the release of his latest single “Traffic Jam,” SoloSam has released his new self-produced “Motorbike Freestyle.” Much as the title suggests, the freestyle lacks a traditional song structure, placing a focus on the verses before introducing a simple hook, which repeats at the end of the record. The young rapper is definitely in his bag though.

SoloSam was previously featured as one of our artists to watch, and he continues to prove us right with each new release. His time is coming.

What do you think of “Motorbike Freestyle?”

Quotable Lyrics:

We are not the same, check the frame, I’m an XL
When I put my spread to the sheet, watch me Excel
N***as cannot breathe in my heat, I just exhale
What it’s like to take an L? Ask how my ex feel

FBG Duck’s Mother Is In Tears After Totaling Car Her Son Gave Her

Emerging Chicago rapper FBG Duck was shot and killed during a drive-by in August 2020 just months after his diss track “Dead B***hes.”

The late King Von originally claimed he and FBG were not at a bad place at the time of his death despite their public, past beef, revealing that the two were “talking bout bringing everybody together as a whole n changing da community for the better,” even though FBG Duck dissed his own “dead homies and family.”

Duck’s rival 600Breezy chose violence, however, when he dropped a teaser for his diss track “Stop Playing,” just a day after FBG Duck’s death, with lyrics suggesting he was anticipating Duck’s murder.

Others in the game suspected Duck would get hit, including Boosie who told Vlad TV he may have jinxed the rapper because he told his nephew he thought Duck could be killed after hearing how hard he went on “Dead B***hes.”  As we reported, Duck’s own mother shared Boosie’s sentiments, believing that his death was in retaliation for the song.

Almost a year after her son’s death, FBG Duck’s mother, LaSheena Weekly lost the last gift she had received from her son. On Tuesday night, Weekly took to Instagram to mourn while she sat in the shock of a car accident that left her car totaled.

The mother sobbed uncontrollably while thanking God for her own safety. Her caption read, “GOD IS GOOD N I WAS NOT DRIVIN N SUM ASSHOLE SPENDING ALMOST HIT US THANK GOD UM OK BUT LOOK AT MY CARRRRRRR ONLY THING I HAD LEFTED DAT MY BABY BROUGHT MEHHHH I SWEAR DUCK I TRIED N I HOPE THE PEOPLE DAT HIT ME OK TOO,” with a dozen crying emojis sprinkled throughout.

Commenters sent LaSheena well wishes along with some of Duck’s friends in the Chicago rap scene including Rapper Big Chris who commented, “ GOT A THOUSAND TOWARDS U A NEW CAR MAMA DONT CRY BE STRONG FOR DUCK WE GOTTA GWT U A CUSTOM MADE DUCK SEATS CAR BABY HEAD UP” and Darrion Da Don who shared, “I’m glad you ok momma cars can be fixed keep your head up.”
