Drake Updates “CLB” Album Through DJ Akademiks

According to DJ Akademiks, who has been sharing some inside information about Drake’s upcoming album Certified Lover Boy, the Toronto native is releasing new music this week.

Drake has been teasing his upcoming album for months. Initially, it was expected to be released in January of this year but, because of his knee injury, the rapper delayed his plans and indefinitely pushed back the album. There haven’t been too many updates regarding CLB but, last week, DJ Akademiks used his platform to share some alleged news that he says came straight from the source. “Drake told me that it’s going to be dropping before April so he’s not waiting until summer to drop his sh*t. I don’t wanna say before April… April or before,” said the media personality. Well, in case that wasn’t enough, Ak had another update on Monday, and this one seems promising.

“Drake told me to sit tight n relax,” tweeted Akademiks several moments ago before referencing a leaked record that the internet went wild about this weekend. “He said that ‘Whats Next’ record is just a ‘warm up ting’. He’s working overtime creating this next masterpiece… CLB on da way… fr.”

According to the hip-hop blogger, Drake is also filming some videos, and one of them will likely be coming out this week. He did not specify whether “What’s Next” was the video being released this week.

Drake’s team previously said that, unless CLB news was coming from Drake himself, it should not be trusted. According to DJ Akademiks, this news is coming from The Boy, but he’s serving as a middle man. I guess we’ll have to stay tuned to see if he’s telling the truth.

JJ Watt Reveals His New Team

When JJ Watt and the Houston Texans parted ways just a couple of weeks ago, fans began to speculate on where he would go next. Watt is one of those players who can completely revamp a defense and every single team in the league could use a player like him. Unsurprisingly, numerous teams were reportedly throwing offers at him, and for the most part, Watt did a great job of keeping his decision under wraps.

Today, however, Watt officially took to Twitter and revealed where he will play next. As you can see from the tweet below, Watt will now be going to the Arizona Cardinals where he will be reunited with his old teammate DeAndre Hopkins. According to Adam Schefter, Watt is getting a massive two-year $31 million deal where $23 million will be guaranteed.

Watt’s decision to go to the Cardinals may come as a surprise to some fans although this is an up-and-coming team and with Watt on the roster, they have a realistic chance at competing for the NFC West title. Not to mention, having a former teammate on the roster helps with the recruitment process.

Keep it locked to HNHH as we will continue to bring you updates from NFL free agency.

The Best Vinyl Releases Of February 2021

Anybody who thought the vinyl resurgence was just a fad was mistaken: The industry has experienced a legitimate revival. As a result, music fans are interested in physical media in ways they may not have if the decades-old medium hasn’t made a comeback. That doesn’t mean everybody is listening to just their parents’ old music, though. That’s part of it, sure, thanks to rereleases that present classic albums in new ways. A vital part of the renewed vinyl wave, though, is new projects being released as records, of which there are plenty.

Whatever you might be into, each month brings a new slew of vinyl releases that has something for everybody. Some stand out above the rest, naturally, so check out some of our favorite vinyl releases of February below.

The National — The National, Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers, and Cherry Tree EP (Reissue)

4AD

It’s been 20 years since The National started their career with their self-titled debut album in 2001, then followed it with Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers and the Cherry Tree EP. Now, all three of those releases have gotten fresh remasters, and limited colored editions are available just for members of the band’s Cherry Tree fan club. For everybody else, the black vinyl editions still look pretty slick.

Sleepless In Seattle Original Soundtrack (Reissue)

Real Gone Music

Sleepless In Seattle was an iconic romantic comedy of its era, but aside from that, it had a killer soundtrack as well (which actually tore up the charts). It features songs from Céline Dion, Carly Simon, Tammy Wynette, Louis Armstrong, Nat “King” Cole, and others, and appropriately, this edition (limited to 1,500 copies) was released on red vinyl for Valentine’s Day.

Julien Baker — Little Oblivions

Matador Records

Baker recently explained to Uproxx how her new album feels like a boundary-breaking one for her, even if it isn’t: “It’s actually not that extreme, it just feels extreme for me. I’m like, ‘Drum machines, wow.’ I’m slow to change, I’m slow to changing who I am as a person. It takes me a while to adjust to stuff. So, I thought of this as a weird record.”

PJ Harvey — Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea and Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea — Demos (Reissues)

UMe/Island

PJ Harvey has been a staple of this monthly round-up lately, as she is in the midst of a series of rereleases from throughout her career. This month saw a new edition of 2000’s Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea, one of the most commercially successful albums of her career. Like previous reissues, this one also comes with a collection of previously unreleased demos.

Craft Recordings

This new edition of John Coltrane’s legendary 1961 album Lush Life — which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year — was carefully remastered from the original analog tapes. Additionally, this is the first release in Craft Recordings’ new “Small Batch” series, each item in which will be individually numbered and come in “a foil-stamped, linen-wrapped slipcase featuring an acrylic inset of the original artwork,” as well as “a reproduction of the original album jacket, complete with tip-on jacket, and protected by an archival-quality, anti-static, non-scratching inner sleeve.”

The Strokes — Room On Fire (Reissue)

Vinyl Me, Please

The Strokes’ stunning debut album Is This It was a tough act to follow, but they did just fine with Room On Fire, which also earned the group critical acclaim. The Band — Stage Fright (50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition)

Capitol/UMe

Capitol and UMe are going all out to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Stage Fright, the third album from The Band. They’re reissuing it in multiple formats, the most expansive of which is the Super Deluxe Edition, which includes two CDs, a Blu-ray, an LP, and a 7-inch vinyl. Spread across those products are unreleased recordings, a 5.1 surround mix of the album, a photo booklet, and much more.

Danny L Harle — Harlecore

Mad Decent

Danny L Harle went full concept on his new album, Harlecore, which presents a futuristic vision of a club (a club feeling like something that’s definitely futuristic at the moment). Digging through the album’s credits will reveal that it features contributions from Caroline Polachek, Hudson Mohawke, Chvrches’ Lauren Mayberry and Martin Doherty, Eyelar, and Hannah Diamond.

Foo Fighters — Medicine At Midnight

RCA Records

Of how it felt to finally release the new Foo Fighters album, Taylor Hawkins said, “[It feels] like taking a big huge sh*t. My stomach’s been hurting for a long time. Finally! A collective sigh of relief. We’ve finally got over our constipation.” What’s not sh*tty is the limited edition purple smoke vinyl edition of the album. While that is unfortunately sold out, there’s nothing wrong with the classic black vinyl edition that is still available.

Johnny Cash — At Folsom Prison (Reissue)

Vinyl Me, Please

Vinyl Me, Please has historically let members choose between three categories for their monthly album: classics, essentials, and hip-hop. Now, starting in March, they’ve added a new vertical: country. They got a heck of a release to kick things off, too, as their first VMP Country Record Of The Month is Johnny Cash’s At Folsom Prison. The vinyl proved to be popular, as it’s currently sold out, although there is the option to get on a standby list and get the chance to secure a copy in the future. The lesson: Get on board early because VMP is really bringing it with their new country offerings.

Jack Harlow Will Perform On ‘SNL’ Hosted By May Rudolph This Month

Jack Harlow is about to be all over America’s televisions in the month of March. Jennifer Lopez Shows Off Her Glutes Definition In Cheeky Swimsuit Pic

On Sunday, J Lo took to Instagram to show off her sexy bikini figure that we all know and love. The 51-year-old singer is wearing a white one-piece swimsuit in the mirror selfie, and the high-cut waist shows off her muscular legs, and defined physique. She looks tanned and natural, while accessorizing the minimal ‘fit with some gold hoop earrings and a high, messy bun. She captioned the photo, “#SelfCareSunday” and tagged her skincare line, JLO Beauty.

J Lo looks like she hasn’t aged a day in quite some time, and fans were quick to notice how great she looked. “You have discovered the fountain of youth. When will you share it with the rest of us” wrote one commenter. “THAT BODY GOALS!!!!!!!” added another.

Last week, Lopez celebrated the 13th birthday of her twin sons Emme and Max. In a series of sweet Instagram posts, she shared her love for the boys and wished them a happy birthday, sharing some of her favorite memories.

Over the last few months, J Lo has been putting in the work to promote her new brand, and if there’s anyone that should have a skincare line, it’s definitely the “fountain of youth” herself.

Her line advertises their products as a way to get Jennifer’s “ageless skin,” featuring products like a gel cleanser, eye cream, moisturizer, and face masks. The secret to J Lo’s aging process has certainly been pined after for quite a while, so many are eager to try her products.

Cordae & Morray Connect In Studio

North Carolina’s Morray has been one of the most promising new rappers on the scene, having already caught the eye of J. Cole, Rick Ross, Juicy J, and Jay-Z through his breakout single “Quicksand.” Since then, Morray has proven himself to have artistic depth beyond that of a one-hit-wonder, having unleashed a slew of back-to-back jams showcasing his versatility. It would appear that his hustle and prolific work ethic has ultimately paid off, as Morray recently found himself locked in the studio with acclaimed lyricist Cordae.

Though little was revealed about the session, Morray took to Instagram to share a picture of the session, which he declared to be “Timeless.” “Always,” replies Cordae, sliding into the comment section for a bit of moral support. It’s unclear as to whether or not the pair put in work for Morray’s upcoming project or Cordae’s Lost Boy follow-up, but don’t be surprised to see their collaboration land at some point in the near future.

On another note, Morray has been going absolutely hard in the studio of late, even beyond his collaboration with Cordae. A snippet, as shared below, highlights another unreleased Morray banger, one that finds him absolutely spazzing; it’s part of why he’s so widely regarded as the next up, as he can spit bars and bring strong melodies in equal measure. Check out both the image and the clip here, and sound off if you’ve got Morray on your radar.

Lil Uzi Vert Claims JT As “The One” & Twitter Goes Crazy

Well, it’s official. Somewhat.

JT, one half of City Girls, and Lil Uzi Vert have gone public with their relationship online following a series of leaked texts from Uzi’s ex Brittany Byrd, which he asserts are fake. The rapper posted a photo of JT to his Instagram on Sunday night, seemingly confirming their romantic relationship, sharing a video to his IG Story of JT helping herself to some crab legs, while Uzi questions her, “do you love me?” to which she replies, “Yes, I love you.” Uzi then cuts the video short mid-snort-laugh. Uzi also tweeted, around this same time, calling JT “the one” and saying she’s his “darkqueen.”

Obviously, fans were excited and had a lot to say online about the duo’s budding romance, especially considering the many weeks of rumors and gossip that preceded their coming-out-party. We’ve rounded up some of the best reactions to JT and Uzi going public below.

Wack 100 Calls Out T.I. & Tiny Over Sexual Abuse Allegations

T.I. and Tiny have been engulfed in sexual abuse allegations. In January, a woman came forward accusing the couple of drugging and sexually abusing young women, some under the legal age, before more women emerged with even more stories. Both T.I. and Tiny issued a statement through their lawyer “empathetically deny” these “egregiously appalling allegations.” Still, Lisa Bloom has recruited several accusers so far who plan on taking the couple to court.

criminal investigation into the matters hasn’t been launched. However, over the weekend, a lawyer representing eleven accusers filed a letter to state attorney generals of California and Georgia demanding the matter be looked into. “These individual claims paint eerily consistent allegations of women prior to or upon immediately entering T&T’s home, hotel, or tour bus were coerced by Tiny to ingest drugs or unknowingly administered drugs to impair the victims’ ability to consent to subsequent vile sexual acts,” attorney Tyrone A. Blackburn stated in a release.

The allegations continue to mount against T.I. and Tiny who are now being put on blast by Wack 100. The California music executive took to Instagram today following Blackburn’s request for an investigation where he claimed the community needs to be aware of these claims. He shared a screenshot of the New York Times report before urging his fans to read the article for themselves. “I don’t give a fuck maybe I’m the last one left friend family homeboy it don’t matter when foul shit going on the community needs to know so they can PROTECT the community,” Wack wrote in the caption.

“I didn’t commit the acts or write up the article but the STREETS , the INDUSTRY the WORLD needs to fuck know. N***a drug my daughter he got led poisoning coming believe that,” he continued, accusing T.I of being “Bill Cosby & R Kelly All In One,” as the hashtags suggest.

Lil Pump Apologizes For Eminem Diss, Sort Of

Artists, at least the ones with good sense, understand that Eminem is not one to be disrespected lightly. Those who do decide to engage in warfare with the legendary lyricist understand the stakes at play. For Lil Pump, however, who tends to navigate life in an unrelenting shroud of obliviousness, such consequences are simply not important. Instead, Pump seems content with simply following every single impulse that enters his mind, ranging from cries of “Fuck J. Cole” to similar cries of “Fuck Eminem.”

Lil Pump

Though many doubted that Eminem would even bother responding to Lil Pump, that didn’t stop the masses from shaking their heads at the young rapper’s audacity. Now, Pump has recently made an effort to walk back the incident, taking a moment to speak with Fat Joe and explain why he went after Slim Shady in the first place. At first, Joe seems perplexed by Pump’s seemingly docile persona. “Every time I see you, you’re a great guy!” marvels Joey Crack, clearly baffled by Pump’s aggressive nature on social media. “I never understood the Eminem — what was that about?”

“Who?” responds Pump. “I don’t remember that.” Unconvinced, Joe continues pressing. “I told you,” responds Pump. “It ain’t my fault, I was asleep. I’m so sorry about that.” Though he doesn’t exactly seem that remorseful about the situation — nor does his excuse hold much water to begin with — an apology is an apology. Still, some have maintained that actions should have consequences, and Lil Pump should not be free to diss whoever he likes without repercussion on wax.

Check it out for yourself below, and sound off if you think Eminem will take the time to give Lil Pump a bar or two on his next big release.
