The Instagram account for Cam’ron and Mase’s talk show, It Is What It Is, went off on Elliott Wilson in multiple scathing posts on Tuesday night. The veteran music journalist had criticized the show during an appearance on Rory and Mal’s podcast earlier in the week.

“THE YEAR JUST STARTED & WE JUST CHILLING MINDING OUR BUSINESS SIPPING [champagne emoji] & HERE COME THIS ‘CUBAN GOODING JR’ LOOKING MUTHAFU*KA WITH HIS SALTY HATING AZZ,” the caption of the first post begins. “HEY YO @elliottwilson YOU WASHED & NOBODY IS CHECKING FOR YOU, #WETHENEWSOURCE GET USE TO IT [clown emoji] YOU A BONA FIED HATER AT IT’s FINEST.”

In a follow-up post, the account added a screenshot of Wilson’s Instagram page to reveal that they don’t follow him. They wrote: “HEY @elliottwilson THEN YOU GOT SOME NERVE TO BE FOLLOWING US, BUT AS YOU CAN SEE WE DON’t FOLLOW YOU [clown emoji] SO WITH THAT BEING SAID “CURVE” YA BREATH STANK, IF “PUN” WAS ALVE HE WILL TELL YOU GO THAT WAY.”

During his conversation with Rory and Mal, Wilson used Cam’ron as an example to complain about voices in media not having proper training and education in journalism. Bryce James, a son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, has reportedly committed to play college basketball at the University of Arizona. According to a report from 247sports, he chose the Wildcats over offers from Duquesne, Ohio State, and other top programs.

“Arizona has received a commitment from Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon shooting guard Bryce James,” the report reads. “Sources tell WildcatAuthority.com that one of the main reasons why James was drawn to Arizona is Tommy Lloyd’s ability to develop players and his patience with that process. James recently took an unofficial to Arizona and came away impressed with the overall campus and approach of the program.”

The update on Bryce comes after LeBron and his other son, Bronny, made NBA history by becoming the first father-son duo to share the court together, earlier this season. Bronny began his career struggling, but after moving down to the G-League noticeably improved his game. LeBron recently told reporters of his development: “I think every moment he gets out there, he’s just getting more and more comfortable with the pro game. The physicality of it, the nuances of it, the speed of it. He’s always had the IQ for the game. As he continues to get stronger and he continues to get more game-play, and he continues to get more and more comfortable, I think what we’re seeing is what a lot of people, I don’t think understood, is how his play-making ability is. When he’s handling the ball, pick and rolls, in transition, getting his guys involved.”

The news about Bryce also comes after LeBron celebrated his 40th birthday on Monday night. In a viral video from the festivities, LeBron passionately raps along to Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar.

Terror Strikes New Orleans: Pickup Truck Rams Crowd on Bourbon Street, 10 Dead and 35 Injured

At least 10 people were killed and 35 injured early Wednesday morning when a driver deliberately plowed a pickup truck into a crowd celebrating New Year’s Eve on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. The suspect, who engaged in a gunfight with officers, was killed during the confrontation, New Orleans police confirmed.

“This man was trying to run over as many people as he possibly could,” said Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick, describing the driver’s actions as “very intentional.” The suspect also opened fire on police officers, injuring two who are currently in stable condition, according to Kirkpatrick.

The FBI is now investigating the incident as a potential “act of terrorism.” Federal agents are also conducting further examinations of the scene, including inspecting the vehicle for possible improvised explosives. CNN affiliate WDSU shared footage of a law enforcement robot being deployed to investigate the underside of the truck.

The tragic attack occurred just hours before New Orleans was set to host The Sugar Bowl, a major college football game expected to draw fans from across the nation. The University of Georgia was scheduled to play Notre Dame less than a mile away from the scene of the attack.

“The 8th District is currently working a mass casualty incident involving a vehicle that drove into a large crowd on Canal and Bourbon Street. There are 30 injured patients that have been transported by New Orleans Emergency Medical Services (NOEMS) and 10 fatalities. Public safety partners are responding on scene. Updates will follow as they are received,” the New Orleans Police Department said in a statement.

Budden’s lawyer, Nima Ameri, has already released a statement responding to the charge. In doing so, he called out Edgewater Police Chief Donald A. Martin. “The allegations against Mr. Budden are a minor charge, not even resulting in an arrest,” he said, as caught by TMZ. “A charge Mr. Budden is looking forward to beating in court on the merits, not in the press. The Chief’s comments are reckless, and in our opinion racially motivated. Our research has not shown a single press release on a disorderly person charge on the police website this year. His choice to single out Mr. Budden in our opinion is self motivated and based off of Mr. Budden’s race and celebrity status.”

Punch Refuses To Dispel SZA Rumors Following TDE’s Historic Year

Last week, SZA and Punch from TDE threw fans for a loop when their social media activity suggested that they were no longer in business together. Although the singer would remain signed to TDE, it was heavily implied that Punch would no longer be her manager. In fact, Punch had taken all mentions of SZA out of his bio on Twitter. This subsequently led to all sorts of speculation, with some under the assumption that the rollout to LANA caused some sort of a rift in their decade-long relationship.

Overall, TDE has been known to keep their artists from releasing a frequent pace. Many of their artists have gone years between releases. SZA and Kendrick Lamar are great examples of this, as both went five years between albums. As for LANA, the SOS deluxe tape was seemingly supposed to drop a whole lot earlier than it did. However, upon release, there have been some mixing issues, with SZA complaining that no one in the music industry is around to help her through the Holidays. As for Punch, he had some interesting comments last night, although he was certainly keeping some of his thoughts to himself.

Punch Speaks Out Amid SZA Management Rumors

“I was going to take the time and officially dispel some rumors and headlines.. then I thought, eh, it doesn’t matter. We had a great year and the next year is already in motion,” Punch wrote. Based on these comments, one could infer that SZA and Punch are still working together. However, that is just conjecture based on the context we’re being given. Hopefully, they are able to sort all of this out.

In the meantime, one can just imagine what TDE has in store going forward. ScHoolBoy Q and Ab-Soul dropped dope projects, while SZA continued to validate her superstardom. Not to mention, their alumnus, Kendrick Lamar, had one of the greatest years in rap history. Ultimately, it will be a lot of fun to see how they follow this up.

Uncle Murda Hands Drake An L While Decimating Rick Ross & J. Cole In “Rap Up 2024”

Every single New Year, hip-hop fans eagerly await the hilarious rap-ups from none other than Uncle Murda. Overall, the rap-up series takes aim at the biggest events of the year, while poking fun at those who were a part of them. Of course, 2023 was an interesting year for a plethora of reasons, however, it paled in comparison to 2024, which was one of the craziest 365 days in the history of hip-hop. It seemed like everyone was beefing this year, while major artists like Diddy and Lil Durk got hit with massive legal cases.

Right on time, Uncle Murda dropped “Rap Up 2024” at midnight on his YouTube channel. As you can see below, this version of the Rap-Up is 17 minutes long as there was a whole lot for the legend to cover. For instance, throughout the song, Uncle Murda officially hands Drake an L for his role in the beef with Kendrick Lamar. Furthermore, the artist had some incredibly harsh words for Rick Ross and J. Cole, who had some terrible showings throughout the ordeal.

Uncle Murda Went All Out This Year

For instance, Rick Ross dropped “Champagne Moments,” a half-baked diss track that went through one ear and completely out the other. As for J. Cole, he dropped “7 Minute Drill” as a way of getting back at Kendrick, but then decided to apologize and delete the song entirely. This is the kind of move that an elder statesman like Uncle Murda would see as anti-hip-hop. Of course, the artist got into all kinds of other topics during the 17 minutes, and it makes for a very entertaining listen.

The great thing about the Rap Up is the fact that it acts as a time capsule. You can go back to any year and Uncle Murda’s song will tell you the biggest stories and events that went down. It is a truly unique way of documenting the culture, and we cannot imagine what kind of topics he will have to cover at the end of 2025.
