Usher has fallen under a lot of social media scrutiny over the past few months due to his connection to Diddy, as they had a collaborative relationship from very early in the former’s career. Given the Bad Boy mogul’s current incarceration and federal indictment against him, many raised their eyebrows at a recent social media development. Moreover, the R&B star or someone from his team seemingly wiped all of his Twitter posts from his page, leading to many theories that this has something to do with Sean Combs’ scandal. However, there’s nothing explicitly hinting at that or suggesting it either in the legal space or online, so we’ll have to see if he elaborates on his social media pages.
Still, some highlighted posts remain at press time, including tour announcements, ticket sales, some NFT stuff apparently, and a Twitter Spaces post from earlier this month. On the other hand, Usher’s Twitter account says that it still has 7,112 posts as of writing this article, but none of them are visible. No matter how close or distant you are from a former prospective partner, never think that you can’t come up in their tea years down the road. That’s exactly what’s happening to Drake right now, as he found himself in the middle of a social media spat between his supposed ex Jhonni Blaze and her former friend Ghetto Barbie. The latter leaked some alleged text message and voice memo exchanges between Blaze and the Toronto superstar in which he seems to address their past relationship and respectfully draw a line in the sand. However, for hip-hop fans, there was a much more interesting part of these alleged leaked messages.
As you can see in the post below, Drake allegedly hints at the dynamic that he had with Live Nation for his It’s All A Blur tour, first with 21 Savage as a co-headliner and then with J. Cole, plus plenty of special guests. This adds to theories that he either got stuck in a deal that forced him to do these shows, is part of a highly lucrative partnership that is actually beneficial, or somewhere in between. Of course, the most likely scenario is that – if true– The Boy just phrased this text message in this way because of how busy the tour schedule was.

Drake’s Alleged Text Messages With Jhonni Blaze
Still, it raised a lot of eyebrows considering his past lyrics using that word, and it fuels speculation that his moves and releases are contract obligations for corporations and not fully of his own volition. However, is that really such a rarity in the music industry? These dynamics sadly exist for plenty of artists, and we don’t really know for sure how Drake would really characterize his own relationship with Live Nation. As such, maybe this is a case of people holding him to higher standards than they would any other rapper or musician.
The other question is this: why would Drake feel “forced” to tour if it would still make him a lot of money? Why did he allegedly turn down the Super Bowl halftime show twice? We don’t even know if these are legitimate questions, and we probably will never truly know the answer. The Diddy scandal continues to captivate much of pop culture for harrowing and disturbing reasons, although a lot of folks are making light of the whole alleged matter. One of these is Katt Williams, who fans called a “prophet” earlier this year when his remarks on the Bad Boy mogul’s various accusations seemed to manifest every week through new allegations. Now, Katt’s back with a bold claim: “Diddy about to snitch on everybody,” he captioned a recent Instagram Story post. It included a clip of New Jack City in which Nino Brown accuses Kareem Akbar of ring-leading his crimes, but with Diddy and Jay-Z’s faces imposed onto the actors.
Many other reactions to Diddy’s federal arrest and indictment made similar claims and theories, but at the end of the day, we won’t know until we see a trial. On that note, this might take a while considering his many other legal issues as of late, most of which he’s trying to sweep under the rug while focusing on this larger case. For example, Sean Combs recently filed a motion to dismiss one of various sexual assault lawsuits against him due to its expired statute of limitations.

Katt Williams Predicts Diddy’s Court Strategy
Meanwhile, other celebrities like LL COOL J and Flavor Flav are still reacting to the Diddy case. “I feel for his children. The rest I can’t speak on, that’s what we’ve got a court system for. But I feel for his kids,” LL expressed at a Black Music Action Coalition gala. “You know what, I’ma tell you, when anybody asks me my opinion on Diddy, you know what my opinion is? I have none. I ain’t got no answers for a Diddy question. None,” Flav added.
As for Katt Williams’ previous comments about Diddy on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, he made it clear that he always kept his distance and rejected his offers to “party.” Of course, it’s important to note that the difference between a regular gathering and a “freak-off” is very distinct. Nevertheless, all of these reactions and snitching claims probably won’t amount to much until we have a verdict.

Considering his “100 GIGS” drops and how prolific he’s been throughout the years, it’s no surprise that when we hear something about Drake online, it’s usually coming right from the source… Right? Well, his massive celebrity status guts all chances of that. Moreover, he just found himself in the middle of a social media fight between his supposed ex Jhonni Blaze and her friend Ghetto Barbie. The latter of which exposed some alleged text messages between Blaze and The Boy. In a long voice message, he seems to basically address their past history together and basically says that he’s not super comfortable with reengaging.
So in reality, what Drake got “exposed” for here is apparently just curving Jhonni Blaze respectfully and making it clear that he has no ill will towards her. However, the discussions about their history and how he sometimes doesn’t know how to respond to her text messages indicate that it’s probably more complicated than that. Regardless, it’s not for us to find out, as some fans are more interested with Drizzy’s supposed claim that he’s being forced to tour for Live Nation. This refers to his recent and extensive tour, the It’s All A Blur series.

Back to this Jhonni Blaze debacle, though, she obviously was not happy with her former friend for leaking these alleged Drake messages. But it’s not the only recent allegation to emerge around him. Steve Stoute recently claimed that the Toronto superstar turned down the Super Bowl halftime show twice, adding to that controversy’s discussion. “I will confirm. Drake [rejected] the Super Bowl twice,” he told The Pivot podcast.
“Drake did turn down the Super Bowl twice,” Steve Stoute continued. He later went on to defend Jay-Z’s decision for 2024. “And I’m sure if Drake would’ve said yes, he would’ve brought Lil Wayne out at some point, right? He probably would’ve brought out Nicki, which is probably why she’s upset because she’s not on the stage. But Drake turned it down twice. So, like, this, ‘the NFL, somebody spoke to’ – No. He turned it down twice, which is fine. He didn’t want to do it.”

When we look back at 2024 in the hip-hop history books, we won’t be able to tell that story without Future’s prolific run. After two Metro Boomin collab albums that kicked off a legendary rap battle, he’s back with MIXTAPE PLUTO. While the discussion around this new project didn’t come with as many extracurricular narratives, it clearly still resonated with audiences. Moreover, HITS Daily Double reports that the mixtape is projected to sell anywhere between 120K and 135K units in its first week. This means that it has a solid chance of cinching another No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the Atlanta MC, which would mark his 11th album to do so.
Of course, we won’t know for sure until the official charts drop next week, but this is still a big win for Future. However, some fans still expressed confusion around MIXTAPE PLUTO. Some teased features for the project, including Travis Scott and Gunna, didn’t end up appearing. In fact, the latter seemed to address this issue online, which fueled more theories and rumors about the potential reasons why.

Nevertheless, there’s a good reason as to why fans are enjoying Future’s latest mixtape so much. As the title suggests, MIXTAPE PLUTO is more evocative of his classic 2010s releases than his Metro collabs, on which we only got a slight taste of them through the bonus tracks on WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU. Sure, these collab albums held plenty of shades of 56 Nights and other tapes, but this new record and its impressive production credits fully lean into Pluto’s talents and classic appeal.
Meanwhile, Future’s influence continues to loom large over much of the rap world. For example, Playboi Carti puzzled fans when he dropped the single “ALL RED,” mainly because he sounded so much like his “Teen X” collaborator. While this is a more obvious and direct comparison, this isn’t even counting the countless rap projects that owe much of their identity to Fewtch in recent years. With projects like MIXTAPE PLUTO under his belt and its subsequent success, it’s no wonder he’s still a king.
