As of this writing, Nicki Minaj has officially been going off about Megan Thee Stallion’s new song “Hiss” for about 89 hours straight. On Thursday, she began posting a nonstop barrage of increasingly unhinged tweets and today, released her own diss track, “Big Foot,” on which she joins the chorus of detractors alleging Megan lied about being shot by Tory Lanez.

While Nicki has almost singlehandedly kept the promotion for “Big Foot” afloat, goading her Barbz into attacking critics, and lashing out at everyone from Jay-Z to TMZ, one might expect Megan to have something to say about “Big Foot” herself. After all, it was an outsized response for the one line on “Hiss” dedicated to Nicki, and she has her own upcoming project to promote. So…

Although Megan has yet to return to Twitter, let alone drop a response track, over on Instagram, she did make one subtle reference to the beef. A screenshot of the Twitter account @chartdata proclaiming her the first female rapper to have multiple solo songs reach No. 1 on Apple Music’s global singles chart appeared earlier today (about three hours before this writing), suggesting she’s both heard “Big Foot” and seen Nicki’s as-yet ongoing rant, which has referenced Apple Music charts multiple times.
“Reject” a song that just broke a record for highest debut in APPLE MUSIC HISTORY.

As to whether Meg will deign to letter another bar go in Nikci’s direction or just continue to let her spiral out remains to be seen. But for what it’s worth, this has resulted in a lot of free promotion for one of them with a lot less effort than the other has been putting in. Like another female rapper once embroiled in beef with Minaj pointed out, beef has proven to be bad for business; maybe everyone involved could just stick to promoting their respective albums for a while.

Everyone in the rap world is talking about Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion. A beef that was first set up on Pink Friday 2 last month absolutely erupted over the weekend. That came on the back of Megan Thee Stallion’s new single “HISS.” While the song is about a lot more than just Nicki and she doesn’t mention Nicki by name, for many fans their biggest takeaway was a newly sparked beef between the female MCs.
Nicki Minaj’s response to the song was pretty robust. It began with days of tweeting nearly nonstop with some posts spanning hundreds of words of occasionally quite incoherent rambling. That eventually turned into a response song called “Big Foot” which dropped yesterday. The track has received pretty negative reactions online for a variety of reasons. Fans have called her disses weak with lyrics borrowed directly from some of her tweets. They’ve also critiqued some of her accusations as being complete falsehoods. In an Instagram comment, Pimp C’s wife Chinara Butler gave her take on the song. “#nickiminaj diss song is A$$ it’s going to go double wood! Get some rest and #TryAgain.” Fans in the comments mostly shared her sentiments. “I’ve never seen a unanimous agreement that a song was trash like this ever in hip hop” one of the top comments on a recap of the situation reads.
Despite the near-universal dislike of the song, it is still getting people’s attention. The track stood at #2 on the Apple Music charts earlier today behind only Megan’s original diss track “HISS.” Nicki has also claimed that she had four more songs ready to potentially release soon. Jam Master Jay Trial Begins Two Decades After His Murder
Jam Master Jay of Run DMC’s murder went unsolved for a long time, but almost 22 years after it, we will at least get an answer when it comes to two prime suspects. Moreover, after the jury selection phase kicked off a few days ago at press time, Ronald Washington and Karl Jordan Jr.’s trial began with opening statements on Monday (January 29). They received these federal charges in 2020 for the Brooklyn incident, which they allegedly carried out as revenge for a cocaine deal gone wrong, prosecutors argue. If convicted of these crimes, they face life sentences in prison.
Furthermore, U.S. Disctrict Judge LaShann DeArcy Hall will oversee the trial, which is expected to last a month. When news first broke that Jam Master Jay’s alleged killers would face trial this month, many folks expressed a lack of hope in justice, if these are in fact the culprits. For one, some folks did witness the murder and police developed leads upon his loss, but these never came to fruition until the charges in August of 2020. In that way, it’s similar to unsolved cases in hip-hop such as the infamous and tragic examples of Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur.

However, even though some rumored details of this trial didn’t manifest -– such as a double jury -– the details of the incident themselves remain murky. Prosecutors and the charges claim that Washington and Jordan intruded Jam Master Jay’s studio on October 30, 2002 at nighttime. Allegedly, Washington threatened another person in the room with a firearm, whereas Jordan shot Jay twice with one bullet striking his head at close range. In addition, prosecutors suggest that Jay had agreed to purchase 10 kilograms of cocaine that the suspects and other individuals distributed in Baltimore. The suspects chose to retaliate against the DJ when he exited the arrangement.
Meanwhile, Jay Bryant will face a separate trial for his alleged involvement in the murder, for which prosecutors charged him in May of 2023. Jordan and Washington maintain that attorneys waited too long to charge them, which will make it more difficult for them to prove their innocence due to faulty witness memory and cell phone records becoming unavailable over time. In September of 2022, a judge dismissed these concerns and questioned how they could counter prosecutors’ evidence in the first place. Orlando Brown was reportedly kicked out of TAO in Los Angeles on Sunday night and berated staff on his way out. The incident was caught on video and published by TMZ the following morning. In the clip, the former That’s So Raven star screamed, “f*cking demon,” among other insults while filming the staff himself.
Later, he concluded: “Everybody enjoy your night, I’m sorry for f*cking up your sh*t … F**k everybody!!!” Users on social media had mixed reactions to the video. Some came to Brown’s defense, such as one commenter on YouTube who wrote: “That man be seeing stuff due to his past and y’all be playing with him like he joking.” While others called him “crazy,” another user wrote: “I love Orlando. He was so entertaining on That’s So Raven. I Pray that he gets the help that he needs.”

Sunday’s incident is far from the first time Brown has made headlines for his antics. NBA All-Star 2024: Who Are The Eastern Conference Starters?
NBA All-Star Weekend is almost upon us, taking place on Sunday, February 18 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The event consists of the usual festivities and competitions, including the Celebrity Game, as well as the 3-Point and Slam Dunk Contests, among others. As the celebrated weekend draws closer, anticipation rises while revealing the starting lineups for the 2023-24 NBA All-Star Game.
The 73rd edition of the All-Star Game sees the NBA returning to the traditional Eastern vs. Western conference format, with two guards and three front-court players in their starting lineups. They previously implemented a draft in 2017 where captains chose players regardless of conference. According to NBA Communications, three voting groups determined the starters: 50% fan votes, 25% NBA players, and 25% media panel. Head coaches chose the reserves for each team. Both conferences are stacked with big names and many of the best players in the league. Today, we are looking at the NBA All-Star starters in the Eastern Conference. Take a look at the players below.
Tyrese Haliburton
Indiana Pacers player Tyrese Haliburton was unanimously ranked No. 1 in the NBA All-Star voting among fans, players, and media. Last year, the 23-year-old point guard played his first All-Star game as a reserve for the East, also as a top selection. Recently, Haliburton joined John Stockton and Magic Johnson as one of the only NBA players ever to achieve consecutive 20-point and 20-assist games. He also tied former Pacers player Jamaal Tinsley’s record for most assists in a single game. As a starter in this year’s NBA All-Star Game, he will be playing on his home court.
Damian Lillard
This year is Damian Lillard’s eighth selection for the NBA All-Star Game but his first as a starter. The Milwaukee Bucks point guard’s first appearance as an All-Star was back in 2014. That year, he became the first player to participate in all five events in All-Star Weekend. Lillard most recently scored the game-winning shot in last year’s game alongside fellow Bucks player Giannis Antetokounmpo. When he is not dropping buckets, he is spitting bars as Dame D.O.L.L.A. The Bucks’ forward will once again lead the Eastern Conference as captain against LeBron James and the Western Conference for the fourth time. He was also awarded Game MVP back in 2021. While each player in the NBA All-Star Western Conference plays for a different team, the Eastern Conference sees Antetokounmpo and Lillard representing the Bucks.
Jayson Tatum
Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum was named the MVP in last year’s All-Star Game. This year marks his fifth selection as an All-Star, and second as a starter. He currently holds the most points scored in an All-Star game, dropping 55 points in 2023. Additionally, he won the Skills Challenge competition in 2019. Jayson Tatum has led the Celtics to be 35-11 this season so far, currently standing at the top of the Eastern Conference.
Joel Embiid
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will be playing his seventh NBA All-Star Game. Back in 2018, he became the first 76ers player to be selected to start since Allen Iverson. Since then, he has consistently been playing in All-Star games alongside Lillard and Antetokounmpo. The three of them have appeared the most as All-Stars out of this year’s Eastern Conference starters. An integral player to the Philadelphia team’s roster, Embiid and his teammates currently stand at No. 3 in the Eastern Conference, under the Celtics and the Bucks with 29 wins and 15 losses.
