Chance The Rapper Thanks Martin Short For Random Act Of Kindness

Chance The Rapper randomly ran into Martin Short, but didn’t recognize him at first glance. While traveling with his seven-year-old daughter Kensli, the rapper realized that their airplane seats weren’t next to each other. Although he didn’t want to “inconvenience anyone by asking them to swap seats,” a surprising hero came to save the day. Short, who was on the same flight, offered to trade his spot so the father and daughter could sit next to each other.

The pair had both exchanged thanks with one another, but were unaware of each other’s celebrity status. It was only after Short stood up that Chance was able to recognize the 72-year-old actor. Quickly, it clicked that the “kind older gentleman” was in fact “THE Martin Short,” and both Chance and Kensli were ecstatic. The “Cocoa Butter Kisses” rapper tweeted shortly after, “Kensli freaked out cause she’s obsessed with The Santa Clause 3.”

Chance The Rapper Didn’t Recognize Martin Short

Chance, who just popped out of his musical hiatus with his November release of “YAH Know,” took to Twitter following the run-in to write a “shoutout to Jack Frost.” “So I just got on this plane with my daughter,” he explained, “and found out our seats weren’t next to each other.” He goes on to recount Short offering “his seat to Kensli so we could sit together,” and stating “what an awesome person” he is. Adding to the humor of the situation, Chance believes that the Only Murders in the Building star hadn’t recognized him either. “Definitely not, which made it way cooler. He just a nice dude ig,” he tweeted.

Twitter fans were quick to call out Short’s Canadian nationality, which they believe instigated his kindness. One user jokingly tweeted, “Martin Short representing Canada in the air.” Another added, “Martin Short is the only human who really matters.” Needless to say, fans have garnered a hefty appreciation for Short, just as has Chance. Although the unlikely meeting between the actor and the rapper occurred outside of Hollywood, the two probably are well acquainted with each other’s names by now. Jake Paul Doubles His Net Worth After Fury Fight

Since he was 21, Jake Paul, 26, has been relentless in proving his name in the boxing ring. Beginning his career on Vine by displaying his carefree and sociable nature, Paul quickly gained fandom. Though he spent his first years in the limelight on social media making content, Paul made the change to boxing in 2018. Now, with countless training sessions behind him, dedicated to making his physical and mental stronger, Paul has demonstrated his strength in the MMA world.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Paul spoke on his decision to make the change to boxing saying, “Showing up and working your a** off, being alert. I don’t know what else could really compare to being a professional fighter. I think it’s probably the hardest thing in the world you could possibly do. When I got the opportunity to box when I was 21, it brought back the old Jake Paul. It brought back the competitive, athletic Jake Paul. I just fell in love with it. When I won my first boxing match, it was one of the best feelings I’ve ever experienced in my life.” With his head on straight, he seemed more than prepared to take on the new lifestyle.

Jake Paul’s Fame Came Well Before Boxing

Your favorite problem child, born in Cleveland, Ohio, first stepped on the scene with his hilarious and daring videos. From there, he was able to gain enough momentum to be cast in the 2016 Disney Channel comedy series, BizaardVark. The series went on for three seasons, but Paul’s growing social media accounts were what really struck the public, causing him to gain a net worth of roughly $30 million.

Paul’s life before boxing was like a scene out of the movie Project X. With his endless partying, dangerous stunts, and controversial coverage, Paul was soon to end his mischievous ways and focus more on his entrepreneurship. Though he was successful on YouTube, making $21.5 million in revenue in 2018, ranking him on Forbes as the second highest-paid YouTuber, he ended most of his online persona to focus on something that would transform his life for nothing but the better.

Paul Is A Chart-Topping Music Artist

However, before his boxing career began, Paul delved into the music industry. Already a household name, Paul was able to gain an abundance of success through his musical genius. In 2016, with efforts to create an influencer marketing company for like-minded individuals, he financed $1 million to launch the entertainment company, Team 10. With help from outside investors, his music space was able to manifest. Paul’s first single “It’s Everyday Bro,” was released in 2017 and before the year was over, it was already certified platinum and charted on the Billboard Hot 100.

Releasing more music in years to come, Paul had hit after hit with songs that he and his team performed in North America. Though his flow came easy, he put the music to the side after releasing the 2020 singles “23” and “Fresh Outta London.” This time, the route of his focus was evident. He was done with the social media world and ready to begin his career as a certified MMA boxer.

Jake Paul Started His Boxing Career With Knockout Wins

Entering the boxing world in his debut match on August 25, 2018 against amateur white-collar boxer Deji Olatunji, Paul defeated his first contender in a fifth-round knockout. Jake Paul’s brother, Logan Paul was by his side to contend against KSI. Paul was soon to gain success in his professional boxing career as intended when he had his second match just a year later in 2019 against YouTuber and boxer AnEsonGib, also known as Gib. He defeated Gib in a first-round TKO at 2:18 into the match. Now Jake Paul proved his place in the professional world.

Paul at this time was 2-0. His next match was against professional basketball player Nate Robinson, 38, as a minor undercard in a Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. exhibition match where boxers do not compete for competition, but rather to showcase their skills as a boxer. Paul defeated Robinson in a second-round knockout at 1:24 minutes into the match. Displaying his muscles in the ring, he continued to stay undefeated.

Jake Paul’s revenue Began To Climb.

After his 2020 exhibition match, he faced MMA Champion Ben Askren in a highly anticipated 2021 boxing face-off. Paul won in a TKO during the first round only 1:59 minutes in. As his confidence grew, so did his finances. In 2021 Paul garnered $45 million in revenue to rank him, again, as Forbes second highest-paid YouTuber that year. Though his time was spent preparing for boxing and most of his content revolved around that same concept, he was still able to remain not only successful in his online career, but the beginning of his boxing career as well.

Paul’s antics caused his next roundup to take place. After mocking UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley on his boxing capabilities, Woodley called out the problem child. Paul accepted the offer to fight Woodley and he ended up winning, again. Though it was a split decision, Paul was still doing everything he could to make his mark as a boxer.

Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury Match

When his next match was supposed to be against professional boxer Tommy Fury, Woodley stepped up to face Jake Paul when Fury pulled out for medical reasons. In a rematch of Paul vs Woodley, Paul took home another boxing win in a 6th-round KO. Looking to face Fury for reasons beyond boxing ability, a feud between Paul and Fury quickly gained steam before their highly anticipated match on February 26, 2023. Though Paul would come to defeat UFC champion Anderson Silva before facing off against Fury, Paul unfortunately had his first loss in a close match against Fury, resulting in a split decision. Though Paul may have lost the fight, he is confident in his luck against Fury for a rematch in the near future — and why not, he made $30 million for his contendership.

Jake Paul’s fight against Fury essentially doubled Paul’s net worth from $30 million to $60 million. Though he is no longer undefeated in the ring, his loss seemingly has rounded him out even more as a better boxer than before. After his fight with Fury, Paul says, “I made it farther than I ever thought I would, and beyond. This is definitely a humbling experience; I’ll take it on the chin and get back in the gym and we can run it back. Because I think we put an amazing show on for the fans tonight.” With that being said, there’s definitely more of Jake Paul the cruiserweight boxer that we haven’t seen yet, and he’s ready to prove himself, just as he has always done before.

Nas Gets Emotional Reflecting On Late Mother During MSG Concert

Nas gave a powerful tribute to his late mother during his sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden on Friday (February 24), during which he reflected on her perseverance and permanence. Moreover, he got quite emotional during his honoring and took a moment to lightly joke about his street status. Of course, the Queens MC has an incredibly long, illustrious, and hard-fought career to look back on. While he faced many bumps, obstacles, and outright tragedies on his way to the top, he carries those emotions with a badge of honor. As such, his statement came off as incredibly resonant and with the weight of his life on his shoulders.

“My mother worked across the street at that post office,” Nas remarked. “And she’s here with me tonight! I love you, Mom! Got emotional in this s**t! Don’t get it f***ed up, I’m still a real n***a! Aye, ma’, we did it! Every project n***a, we made it!” While the “Represent” rapper gave his remarks, the crowd cheered in support of his triumph and vulnerability. Even though he balanced his emotion with playful posturing, it was still quite a heartwarming and impactful moment, with his full band performing passionately in the background.

Nas Honors His Mother In Reflective Concert Moment

Meanwhile, those who wish to see Nasty Nas on stage for themselves are in luck, and hopefully they’re Wu-Tang fans, too. The two rap legends just announced a new rendition of their “N.Y. State Of Mind” tour, with dates throughout summer and fall worldwide in 2023. Furthermore, they’ll kick things off in May for a few European dates until June. Then, they’ll hit Nashville, Tennessee in September and keep it running across the States until California’s show on October 22nd. Tickets go on sale this Friday (March 3), with a Live Nation presale opening the day before.

Meanwhile, Nas always strives to keep his roots alive, and by extent his mother. His incredible run of recent albums with Hit-Boy don’t compromise on what made his initial artistry and experiences so captivating. As such, with new shows on the horizon, the rap icon will continue to bring the streets and the art of hip-hop to new audiences. With all that in mind, stay posted on HNHH for the latest news, updates, and greatness from Nas.

Ari Lennox And Babyface’s ‘Liquor’ Is The Smoothest Serving Of R&B With An Intoxicating Video To Match

Babyface found his perfect sensual collaborative partner in Ari Lennox. Their latest single, “Liquor,” and accompanying music video directed by Jean Esten, is a match made in R&B heaven. The track featured on the legendary producer and songwriter’s compilation album, Girls Night Out, which was released in October 2021, is the perfect bridge between Lennox’s rising star power and Babyface’s veteranism.

On the song, Lennox puts her signature vocals on full display as the pair serenade one another. However, in the official video, instead of exploring this chemistry further, Lennox, in the role of lounge singer at the one and only The Peppermint Club in West Hollywood (not to be confused with the iconic Peppermint Lounge), an entranced patron of the establishment falls deep into Lennox’s web of lust as Babyface assists in the background of the sole bartender.

When asked about Lennox’s talent by media personality Angela on her podcast Lip Service, Babyface said, “I think that Ari’s voice is a voice that she can sing about many things that matter to a lot of people. Her voice is an important voice, and I think that it’s just the beginning for her.”

“Liquor” is filled with clever adult beverage puns that effortless role of the tongue of Lennox as she sings, “Two shots of liquor, no chaser / No rocks, no blend, straight up, just you / Two shots of liquor, oh, oh / I need one hundred from my man, he can’t be eighty proof / When he ask me throw it back, I tell him absolut-ely.”

If you’re going to be drunk in love, then who better to stumble for than Ari Lennox or the King of R&B, Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds?

Tierra Whack Reveals Tyler, The Creator’s Advice & Updates Fans About Collab

It’s common for artists who are good friends to collaborate with one another, but it hasn’t been necessary for Tierra Whack and Tyler, The Creator. Whack supported the hitmaker as his opener when his Call Me If You Get Lost Tour made its way to Australia and New Zealand. For years, Whack has been pelted with questions about some secret Tyler collaboration that has yet to surface. However, she told Complex that they don’t have hidden music anywhere and debunked claims about a release.

“Me and Tyler don’t have any music. We’re just friends,” Whack explained. “We were hanging out during [the Call Me If You Get Lost Tour] and we got to know each other better, and we [still] talk. But yeah, I think with artists sometimes, people just expect, like, ‘Oh, they both make music, so they should just go make music [together.]’ But sometimes, we just want to be friends with people without asking anything of them but just simply be my friend.”

Tierra Whack Shares Tyler’s Advice

“Tyler gives great advice. He’s a busy, busy man—I’m just grateful I’m his friend,” Whack continued. Then, she named lil Yachty as “one of my best friends.” She added, “He put all of us together on his [Lil Boat 3] project for the song ‘T.D’ So that was a huge blessing—me, Tyler, Yachty, and ASAP Rocky.” Regarding Tyler’s guidance, Whack revealed one piece of advice he gave her. It was about a distinctive characteristic that Whack thought about changing.

“You know Tyler is random. He’ll just be like, ‘Yo, don’t ever mess with your gap,’” she said. “I’ve thought about it in the past like, ‘Maybe I should get braces,’ but he has a gap, too. So he’s like, ‘We gotta represent.’ I love that though, because it’s like, ‘You know what? Tyler said no, so I’m not gonna do it.’”

Tierra Whack Teases New Project & What Fans Can Expect

Meanwhile, we haven’t received music from Whack since she shared her trifecta of EPs in 2021: Rap?, Pop?, and R&B? She’s buckled down and has been recording for her next project, and Whack gave insight as to the sound. “A little bit of everything: Pop, a little bit of Rock. We came out with Whack World to show you guys that I can do a little bit of everything,” she revealed. “I’m just trying to touch on every genre that I kind of already did. But it’s like the same thing, which is a lot, but it’s still coming back to me. With Whack World, we laid out the outline just to [show] people like, ‘Hey, we can do it all.’”
