Nick Minaj Condemns Video Of Person Taunting Homeless Man

In today’s social media-driven world, capturing just about everything and uploading it to the platform of your choice is a daily activity. We see people showing off dance moves, pranking their friends, or even doing good deeds for strangers—but we can’t forget those posts from people who film in the hopes of tearing another person down for the sake of likes and clicks.

An account that goes by HoodFamousTV shared a video of what looks to be a shoeless homeless man sitting on steps. He seems to be going through a hard time, but the person behind the camera didn’t care because according to them, the homeless man bullied him in school many years ago.

Viewers can’t see the person filming, but they can hear him taunting the man, telling him that “in high school you was the man, homie. What the f*ck happened to you?” The person recalled when the man teased him in school over his clothes, pointing the camera to his car and adding, “Now look at you…look at me.”

“Alright d*ckead,” the cameraman said before the homeless man made a slight movement. “I’m not shaking your hand. Look at you, dawg. Tighten the f*ck up, bro!” The Twitter account uploaded the clip with the question: “Do y’all hold grudges like this?”

Several people shared their opinions, including Nicki Minaj who didn’t see anything funny about the clip.

“Homeless dude still won this battle,” she replied. “He’s the 1 w/peace while dude recording a Toyota yelling @ the top of his lungs. No happy successful person would do this. Lol. Ever. Now u gon get karma instead of the BLESSING u prob would’ve gotten had u passed this TEST by the universe.”

Mero Addresses ‘Desus & Mero’ Split, Calls It “A Natural Progression”

desus and mero

Fans of the podcast and comedy duo Desus and Mero were saddened to hear of their sudden split last week. It had been announced that season 5 of their late night TV show would not be returning for its 5th season.

Last Thursday, it was reported by Puck News that the duo had split over a managerial dispute. Multiple sources said that Showtime had asked the duo’s manager, Victor Lopez, to no longer air the Desus & Mero tapings. Desus sided with Showtime who alleged that Lopez displayed “asshole behavior” that included “bullying, screaming, and making people on the show feel bad.” Mero, however, reportedly took Lopez’s side.

After the article was published, Mero was interviewed by New York’s WFAN where he discussed the split.

“It’s just natural progression,” Mero said. “It’s like we said on the podcast, ‘It’s Hollywood, baby.’ You develop strengths and things that you want to explore and do. And then things just happen naturally. It’s like Spike Jonze said on the Viceland show, ‘Everything is finite.’ What’s the corny cliche? Don’t be sad that it’s gone. Be happy that you experienced it.”

Mero then said that the decision to split was mutual, and that maybe in the future they come back and “form like Voltron.”

“Everybody grows,” Mero added. “I’m sure D’s got his things that he wants to do. I got my things I want to do. And they’re very specific to us. We’ve been a duo for a long time. I love everything that he’s done. It’s just natural. I’ve got my life, my worldview, my things going on, and he’s got his. So it’s only right that, instead of just staying like, We’re only going to do this one thing, we explore. Let’s break out. Let’s see what we do as individuals, and then form like Voltron later on. Who knows?”

Its good to know that there seems not to be any bad blood between the two.

Chris Rock Talks Criticism For Appealing To White Audiences

Making the shift from an up-and-coming stand-up comedian to a mainstream entertainer isn’t an easy one, but many of our favorites are products of that transition. Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, and Kevin Hart and just a handful of examples of people who went from touring small bars and comedy clubs to starring in feature films. Their reach is global; however, they’ve also been criticized for their appeal to white audiences.

While chatting on Hart to Heart, Rock spoke with Kevin Hart about how he handled the criticism.

“So, I do Bring The Pain, and I’m on Oprah and I’m on 60 Minutes and I’m just on the cover of every magazine, whatever, in the world,” said Rock. “[You hear] that rumbling of, ‘Only white people like it. Too many white people like it.’ So, when it was time to do my next special, I’m like, ‘Oh, you think only white people like me? Okay, well, I’m going to the Apollo and there ain’t gon’ be no white people nowhere and I’m gonna call this special—this is the Blackest special you will ever see.”

“I have fought battles—I have told n*ggas to shut up in comedy clubs that tried to hate on you,” Rock told Hart.

Hart replied,” It’s the success of the comedian that has found a way to cross over and appeal to all. The universal comic, people remove the word ‘universal’ and just throw in the word ‘white.’ You forget the world is massive so, one of the best pieces of advice that I’ve ever gotten is from you in regards to comedy: ‘Aye, don’t be local. The world is big. Go travel. Go over that water, go be funny to the world. Go be funny for everybody.'”

Hart added that he reflects on that advice often as he thinks of Rock’s career, noting that his friend “stayed true” to himself while making his audience connect to his comedy.
