Wow, Check Out The Pretty Good Madonna Voice Evan Rachel Wood Is Doing In The New Weird Al Movie

Evan Rachel Wood might be in the midst of promoting the new season of Westworld, but that doesn’t mean she can’t show off her pretty impressive vocal skills. While stopping by The Tonight Show on Thursday, Wood not only opened up about her upcoming role as Madonna in Roku’s Weird Al Yankovic biopic, but she gave the audience a taste of how well she can channel the iconic girl by belting out a performance of “Material Girl” at Fallon’s request.

According to Wood, she’s become prone to using her Madonna voice to “disarm” interviewers. As for taking on the iconic role, she felt much better playing the singer in the Weird Al movie than the full-fledged Madonna biopic that stars Julia Garner in the coveted role, which she deemed “too much pressure.” Regarding her casting, Wood added, “Honestly, like I thought I was gonna take a break the rest of the year, and then I got an email and the first thing I read is ‘You’ve been offered the role of Madonna,’ and I just burst out laughing like…. you just spit your drink out when you read that. Like, you’re not expecting that as a Tuesday.”

As for when you can see Wood play Madonna in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Roku has yet to provide a release date for the biopic that stars a surprisingly ripped Daniel Radcliffe in the title role. However, the film is scheduled to premiere some time this year, which is already halfway over, so the wait shouldn’t be too long.

Jazz & Hip-Hop Prodigies Domi & JD Beck Drop ‘Whatup,’ And Announce Their Debut Album

If you haven’t been hipped to Domi & JD Beck yet, a good primer is the keyboardist and drummer’s four minute tribute to Madvillainy. The two classically-trained prodigies are well-versed in the finer points of jazz, as much as they are dexterous hip-hop instrumentalists, and it made them one of our artists to watch last month. Signed to Anderson .Paak’s Apeshit Records, the pair have just announced their debut album, and it’s set to feature appearances from Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Herbie Hancock, Thundercat, Mac DeMarco, and of course, Paak.

At 21 and 18, respectively, Domi and Beck are already at the top of their game — they even co-wrote Silk Sonic’s hit “Skate.” But it’s what they do with their own work that showcases why they’re true game-changers ushering in the next era of jazz music. Take their latest single “Whatup,” a spaced-out number that starts with Domi’s unassuming keys, that quickly give way to Beck’s frenzied snare-dominant drums, before they keyboard shoots straight to another dimension.

There’s a lot to like about this duo, who represent a glimpse into the future of jazz. And it’s their well-rounded approach that isn’t confined by any boundaries — neither stylistic nor academic — that’s going to keep them rising deeper into mainstream consciousness.

Dave Celebrates ‘My 24th Birthday’ With An Introspective Freestyle

It’s wild to think that with all he’s accomplished, Dave is still in the first half of just his second decade of life. In the past year, he’s won BRIT Awards, toured the US, been announced as the headliner of both his home nation’s Wireless Festival and the first-ever Toronto Rolling Loud, and received the co-sign of Drake, who is still widely considered the number-one talent scout on the planet. All of that before turning 24, which he did on June 5 this year.

To celebrate, he’s issued an introspective freestyle titled “My 24th Birthday,” which is a spiritual successor/continuation of his 2017 track “My 19th Birthday.” Although he’s skipped a few years in the series, he can be forgiven; the past five years have been pretty busy, full of ups and downs for the rising star. But now he’s also got plenty to reflect on, from buying his mom a house and earning his second UK No. 1 with “Starlight,” to the newfound problems that come with fame and fortune for a kid from the endz of South London.

“But what’s livin’? Is it clubbin’ and bangin’ chicks or plannin’ trips?” he wonders on the track. “Or some sort of pleasure I haven’t managed to factor in? / I guess I’ll let you know when the stats are in.” Perhaps he’ll do so on his 29th birthday.

LeBron James Displays Insane Work Ethic Ahead Of 20th NBA Season

LeBron James’ season did not end the way he was hoping it would. While he had a phenomenal statistical year, the 37-year-old suffered from bad teammates and a lack of overall chemistry within the Lakers. With Anthony Davis injured and Russell Westbrook struggling to keep things together, it became apparent very quickly that this team would not be able to compete for a title.

The Lakers didn’t even make it to the play-in tournament, which was a massive failure on all fronts. This annoyed LeBron to no end, and now, he seems eager to get back on the floor and show people what this Lakers team is all about.

The Lakers are looking to make big moves in the offseason, and when it comes to LeBron, he is working harder than ever. He is about to embark on his 20th season in the league, which is no easy task. He needs to be in the best shape possible, and this latest workout is proof that he is taking it seriously. For instance, he got to work with shooting coach Chris Brickley and as you will see, LeBron’s still got it despite all of the NBA mileage he has on his body.

While the Lakers aren’t guaranteed to make a run for the title this year, they can’t be any worse than they were this past season. With that said, stay tuned to HNHH for updates from the NBA offseason, which begins on June 30th.

Brian Laundrie’s Gabby Petito Murder Confession Revealed

In September, the disappearance of Gabby Petito became a nationwide story that everyone was paying attention to. She had been on a trip with her boyfriend Brian Laundrie, and some suspicious footage from Wyoming made it seem as though she was in a distressing situation that was all his doing. People had suspected the worst of Laundrie, and when Petito was found dead in Wyoming, it became clear that Laundrie was the prime suspect.

After a manhunt led authorities to Florida, Laundrie was eventually found dead near a creek inside of a nature reserve. Since then, authorities have been trying to figure out the motivation behind his actions, and whether or not something snapped inside of his head to want to kill the supposed love of his life.

Months ago, there were reports that Laundrie’s notebook which had been found at the scene of his death, contained a confession. Now, that confession has been brought to light and you can find the whole thing, down below.

As you will read, Laundrie claims he killed Gabby because of a supposed injury. He says she wanted to die and that he did it out of mercy. Eventually, however, Laundrie says he experienced immense guilt and that he deserved to die. This is why he ultimately took his own life. Throughout the letter, Laundrie wrote about how much Petito’s parents would hate him, and how he hopes his family can move on with ease.

This is a developing story so stay tuned to HNHH for any updates.
