Mass Shooting In Gay District Of Norway, 2 Dead 19 Injured

By now, everyone has been made aware of the mass shootings that have happened across the nation. The horrendous acts that have occurred in Uvalde, Texas; Buffalo, New York; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and more, are reminders that the United States has issues to fix. As Americans continue to mourn the loss of hundreds of innocent people, another country is experiencing the same emotions.

While attending an event at a gay club in downtown Oslo, Norway, several people were emerged in fear after they heard gunshots. The shooter, who has since been detained, fired multiple rounds outside of the establishment, killing two people and injuring 19.

The incident took place just hours before the city was set to undergo its 10-Day Pride Festival– the first large gathering to celebrate LGBTQ+ rights since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. The event has since been canceled by its organizers, as recommended by the police. In a statement issued by the leader of Oslo Pride, Inger Kristin Haugsevje, she stated, “We encourage all of Norway to show solidarity and celebrate Pride at home, in their neighborhoods and towns.”

According toThe New York Times, the assailant was a 42-year-old Norwegian man from Iran who has a criminal record consisting of minor offenses. As of now, his crime is being treated as terrorism, and he is being charged with both murder and attempted murder.

Video footage captured the frightening shooting as it happened. In the clip, numerous people can be seen running for their lives and the sound of the gunshots booming took over the sound waves.

Larsa & Scottie Pippen Reunite To Celebrate 21-Year-Old Son Scotty Pippen Jr. Joining The L.A. Lakers

Thursday was a huge moment for 21-year-old Scotty Pippen Jr., as the son of Larsa and six-time NBA champion Scottie Pippen signed a two-way deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

As TMZ Sports reports, the up-and-coming athlete went undrafted in the NBA’s annual two-round selection event earlier this week, though he managed to ink an agreement with his own favourite team later that evening, along with Shaq’s son, Shareef O’Neal.

It’s been said that the latter signed a contract allowing him to play for the Lakers’ NBA Summer League squad, while the former got a more serious commitment, recruiting him not only for the summer season, but giving him a good shot at making it on the regular season team as well.

The young men haven’t quite achieved the same accolades as their fathers, though O’Neal is a menace on the court at 6’10” and 225 pounds, while Pippen stands 6’3″ and averaged 20.4 points per game during his final collegiate season.

In celebration of the good news, Scotty Jr. linked up with his parents (who finalized their divorce after three years back in January) and siblings to pop a few bottles and express their overwhelming emotions about the exciting news.

One snapshot shared to Larsa’s Story shows the family patriarch crying as he embraced their oldest son along with Justin (21) and Preston (20).

Summer Walker Shows Off A Beachy Look, Sparks Pregnancy Rumors

Summer Walker has made her motherhood public in the past. She has repeatedly called out London On Da Track for being “the worst baby daddy on the planet,” saying she wished that she “paid more attention” to who he was before they had a child together. But it seems like this drama maybe hasn’t made Walker write off having a child entirely.

In a new Instagram post, Summer Walker showed off a bikini with puka shells. The comment section was abuzz with pregnancy rumors as fans wondered if this was her way of announcing she was with child.

“Brown & Beautiful,” Walker captioned the series of three photos. Fans immediately began guess as to whether or not the singer is expecting. “My sis definitely pregnant,” wrote @jjaylahh. “It’s the pregnant belly for me,” wrote @kamkam._27. “Summer .. don’t play with me rn…” added @_youlovearii. Walker has yet to address the rumors.

Walker’s pictures came on the heels of a post from her regarding the Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. In the post, Walker shared screenshots of various tweets criticizing the ruling. “A death sentence from the ‘pro life,'” Walker wrote under a tweet from @elizabethlgr which read, “The treatment for an ectopic pregnancy is abortion. The treatment for a septic uterus is abortion. The treatment for a miscarriage that your body won’t release is abortion. If you can’t get those abortions, you die. You. Die.” Walker isn’t the only person upset about the decision- massive protests have erupted across the country.

Kevin Gates “Khaza” Review

In the past year, Kevin Gates has attempted to experiment beyond the muddy, bass-slapping sounds of the South, specifically Louisiana. While his influence on a new generation of Southern rappers is evident, some of his recent efforts like “Move” and “Big Lyfe” created more anxiety than anticipation surrounding his next release. The 36-year-old’s attempt at chasing a radio-friendly record felt like an elder statesman at a crossroads in his career, uncertain of where he’ll go next. His vulnerability has remained his strongest suit in his career, though neither singles really capitalized off of it. Instead, it felt like he was experiencing a mid-career crisis in an attempt to earn more validation from the RIAA and Billboard charts than the streets. Now, Gates has peeled back the curtains to his personal life, providing context to both his situation and sound post-I’m Him, grieving the outcome of a failed relationship and embracing the uncertainties of the future.

If there’s one thing you can count on from a Gates album, it’s an excellent introductory track. The rapper keeps up the tradition on his third studio album where he lays down the foundation for the album’s theme – loyalty. Between his split from Dreka and his ties to the streets, Gates is a man that looks at right and wrong with a black-and-white lens. It’s a return to the days of his Luca Brasi tapes where he channeled The Godfather enforcer with parallels between his own presence in the streets. “N***as started actin’ like big Brasi ain’t the truth ouch’ere,” he viciously raps, sternly reminding his detractors of the weight his name carries. The song’s release followed the revelation of his break-up with Dreka Gates on the salacious “Super Gremlin” freestyle. While his intentions felt far more vindictive on “Super General,” alleging that Dreka cheated on him with her personal trainer, Khaza explores the split in its various stages of grief. “One Day” transforms cries of distress into honeyed, infectious croons that create the solitary atmosphere of heartbreak, while Gates still pleads for reconciliation. “Ups And Downs” summarizes his grief and disappointment with one of the most vivid depictions of his home life on the album. “When you go inside the freezer, ice cubes smell like cologne/ That means someone was at your house when you was not at home,” he raps.

Coming to terms with the end of his relationship with Dreka remains the centerpiece of the project, though it isn’t entirely somber. On “Bad For Me,” Gates battles the feeling of temptation in ways that Celina Powell’s victims can relate to. Meanwhile, records like “Shoot My Shot” and “Mine” add to the bubbly pop-fluenced side of his artistry that paints the feeling of puppy-dog love. Those two records are prime examples of Gates’ ability to adhere to the standards of pop music without compromising his own method of operation. Ultimately, he brings everything full circle on “Free At Last.” The co-production of Al Geno, Mattazik Muzik, and Cozy From Earth revitalizes Gates’ presence as he boldly declares, “Cut off my hoe, now I’m free at last.”

Though he’s shown signs of growth throughout the past few years of his career, shedding light on mental and physical health, flashes of Luca Brasi are littered across the album. On records like “Body,” Gates returns to the role of an enforcer but one that isn’t getting his own hands dirty. Songs like “Body” and even “Steppin” highlight Gates’ menacing presence on wax. The former recycle methods used by Nas, and most recently Vince Staples, in personifying a gun. Though Vince described his gun as a muse over lush vocal samples, Gates’ songwriting slyly describes firearms on “Body” as if it’s an Instagram model he’s flying out to Miami. In a sense, it’s the first glimpse at Gates really embracing life as a bachelor through infectious hooks for a party-friendly anthem.

The release of Khaza feels like it’s supposed to be a spiritual successor to his 2016 debut album, Islah. His momentum died down following his release from prison but it also seemed like he didn’t care. Gates likely won’t earn another #1 album with Khaza but for day-one fans, the unflinching honesty, aggressive delivery, and bold melodies are a return to form for one of Louisiana’s most consistent artists of the past decade.

A$AP Rocky Previews New Music As Fans Eagerly Await His Fourth Studio Album

It’s been a hectic few months for 33-year-old A$AP Rocky, who – after being unexpectedly arrested while returning from a trip to Barbados at LAX for his alleged involvement in a West Hollywood shooting – recently welcomed his first child with his girlfriend, Rihanna, who has been out of the public eye since giving birth a few weeks back.

While Rih relaxes at home and adjusts to her new role as a mother, her rapper beau has been out in the streets with his crew, hopping on Instagram Live to preview new music for his fans on Friday, June 24th.

During the stream, the New York native was seated in the backseat of a car, whipping around with friends blasting an unreleased track, boasting production that can only be described as menacing.

As HipHopDX notes, the sneak peek at what Rocky has been working on lines up perfectly with comments he made during a DAZED interview, telling the publication that his sound has been far more experimental as of late.

“Yeah I got my young boys sounding crazy on this shit,” the father of one told viewers at one point yesterday while a child’s voice could be heard shouting him out on the song playing behind him.

Though he’s shared “D.M.B” and now teased us with this, a release date for Rocky’s highly anticipated fourth studio album (following 2018’s Testing) has yet to be revealed.

In other news, the “Distorted Records” hitmaker recently joined Jerrod Carmichael for a conversation for Interview Magazine, during which the two discussed everything from wearing women’s clothing (A$AP says it’s “punk” for men to do) to the death of his beloved friend, A$AP Yams – read more about that here, and check back in with HNHH later for any updates on the rapper’s upcoming album.

Got your guard up, playing defense

Over 50 People Arrested During Abortion Protest In Downtown LA

Yesterday (June 24), the Supreme Court made a decision that sent the country into an uproar. Roe v. Wade, a decision made to protect a pregnant woman’s liberty to choose to have an abortion, was overturned after almost 50 years. In a 5-4 vote, it has been decided that abortions are no longer a federal constitutional right.

Following the shocking news, millions of people across the globe used their voices to go against the court’s decisions. While many expressed their concerns via social media, others decided to gather and protest for their beliefs. According to KTLA, a news station in Los Angeles, California, at around 1 p.m., a crowd of people formed for a demonstration in front of the federal courthouse in downtown LA.

Reports claimed that as the night went on there were violent run-ins with advocates and police. It was stated, by KTLA, that bottles and rocks began being thrown in the direction of officers, this led to law enforcement using non-lethal rounds on demonstrators in an attempt to calm them down.

Eventually, the rally lingered into nearby interstates– the 110 and 101– leading to arrests. Footage captured by Sky 9 News, caught the uproar as it unfolded. Dozens of citizens filled the streets and officers urged them to remove themselves. Sky 9 reported that, at the time, over 55 arrests had been made in connection to the demonstration.

It can be assumed that this is the first protest of many. As the outrage possessed by Americans continues to increase, their patience is starting to wear thin– which will more than likely result in rallies happening across the country.
