Nav Announces His New Album ‘Demons Protected By Angels’

Toronto rapper and producer Nav is back with the announcement of his first big release since 2020’s Emergency Tsunami: he’s unveiling a new album called Demons Protected By Angels. It has no official release date yet, though he has been mentioning July 29 on social media, which could be the release date of the record or of a single.

Nav is known for frequent collaborations. Emergency Tsunami watched him work with the producer Wheezy. He’s also done tracks with Lil Baby for “Don’t Need Friends,” Belly for “Requiem,” Young Thug for “No Debate,” and more. It’s likely that Demons Protected By Angels will be full of more chart-topping collaborations with an eclectic range of guests.

In 2020, he also shared “Turks,” a song with Travis Scott and Gunna, released during the week that he was celebrating the one-year anniversary of Bad Habits, his sophomore album that served as his first Billboard 200 chart-topper. It was his fourth collaboration with Travis Scott, following Nav’s “Champion” and Travis’ “Biebs In The Trap” and “Yosemite,” which also featured Gunna. Gunna’s album DS4EVER debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, and featured a plethora of other guests including Landstrip Chip, Mobile, Yung Bleu, Beam, Rockford, and Fresco.

Gunna is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Ben Affleck’s 10-Year-Old Son Samuel Has Minor Fender Bender In Lambo

Kids get themselves in all sorts of trouble but it usually doesn’t include causing car crashes. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have re-blended their families after reuniting their romance, and in recent months we’ve seen the mega-famous couple spending time with their children. Lopez shares twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony whole Affleck has three children with his actress ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.

We don’t usually hear much about the Affleck kids as their parents try to protect them as much as possible, but yesterday (June 26), reports flooded the internet about 10-year-old Samuel Affleck’s minor fender bender.

According to reports, Affleck and Lopez were with Sam in their yellow, $230K Lamborghini at a car dealership when Affleck needed to step out for a moment. When they exited their vehicle, young Sam decided to jump behind the wheel in the driver’s seat. Affleck was standing right outside of the vehicle and Lopez was reportedly in the backseat, so there wasn’t any problem with the boy pretending to drive.

However, things took a turn when something occurred as Samuel was in the driver’s seat and backed into another vehicle. The New York Post reportedly spoke with an employee at the dealership who said: “When [Samuel] got into the car, it jerked back and forth. We have a small lot and the cars are close. Everybody was OK!”

E! News claims Affleck’s rep told them that “everyone is fine” and there “is no damage.” Photos of a distraught Samuel have circulated online.

Ryan Trey Connects With XXL Freshman Babyface Ray For New Single & Music Video, “Only Us”

Earlier this month, St. Louis native Ryan Trey delivered a collaboration with Babyface Ray, “Only Us,” that’s still in rotation with fans.

The accompanying visual for the Wavy Wallace-produced joint was directed by Mac Grant, and meshes high-definition clips with grainy film to create a lo-fi sort of look. The two artists sit with friends of a front porch to get their verses off, their deliveries coming with sheer charisma.

“Thousand dollars tennis shoes, cop whatever just for you / You want me now, I want you too, I put that on my soul,” Trey begins his first verse. “Treat you like that Bentley coupe, where you at? I’ll fly to you / I’ll make sure it’s just me and you, I’ll never let you go.”

For the XXL Freshman’s part, he raps, “When we out it’s only us, treat me like your OnlyFans / Watch you like my favourite show, poppin’ like some rubberbands / That n*gga that you entertainin’, nah, he ain’t seein’ me / Bet you run laps through the mall, get you C and C.”

Ceasar Emanuel’s Ex Accuses Him Of Abuse After He Claims She Leaked Dog Fight Video

Last week, a video of Black Ink Crew reality star Ceasar Emanuel abusing a dog went viral online, promptly causing VH1 to cut all ties with him. Since then, the tattoo shop owner has maintained that the footage surfacing online is a part of some sort of set-up, and we now know who he believes is trying to frame him – his ex, Suzette Samuel.

“With my ex, it’s like… You pulled that out your ass, cuz I left you?” he defended himself in a recent interview. “Like, this is why I’m saying, just like, the entitlement. Like, if I can’t have him, nobody can have him.”

When the host pressed Emanuel to confirm that he was alleging that the video came out due to a breakup, he said, “Basically, and they always dangled it over my head… And finally, after I sit here and say that I’m single, the next day it dropped?”

After he shared his side of the story, Samuel took to Instagram to tell hers. “Leaving a relationship with someone [you] love is by far one of the most difficult things to do,” she penned. “BUT, [you] have to pick your peace and what [you] deserve OVER what your flesh wants!”

“It’s not ok to [be] lied to and cheated on and constantly disrespected. Told ‘you will never find someone of my status.’ Words create insecurities, weakness, and eventually resentment. It’s OK to choose yourself, peace.”

She went on to quote Pastor Murphy, “BE FREE! The enemy will try to shame you and make you choose between bondage over promise. BE FREE.” But that wasn’t all she had to say.

Samuel then announced that she would be “[unloading] the clip,” which meant accusing her ex of domestic abuse along with receipts of a large, dark bruise on her body.

“I tried not to do this to you but here we go,” she wrote alongside the incriminating photo. “You know I know EVERYTHING. You’re an abuser!!! [Remember] Christmas time when [you] found that dude in my DM?! This was the result. [You] played with the wrong one!”

According to her, Emanuel “used the network to manipulate and threaten” Samuel. “I left you your birthday weekend. Stop playing!” she concluded – check it all out below, and tap back in with HNHH later for any updates on this story and others.

TikTok Sleuths Peep Plan B Box In Megan Thee Stallion’s Suitcase During Twerk Video

Megan Thee Stallion talked a lot of shit on her “Plan B” single, though one of the Hot Girl Coach’s most recent TikTok’s proves that she can back it up (in more ways than just one).

On Sunday (June 26), the Houston native uploaded a video that finds her dancing away to “Falsetto” by The-Dream in a black hoodie and leggings combo. Her moves were undeniably smooth, but as Thee Stallion leaned forward to get to some extreme twerking, viewers were exposed to a box of plan B, or the morning after pill, propped up on her suitcase.

Not only does the hilarious incident perfectly line up with the arrival of the 27-year-old’s track (it debuted weeks ago but now that Hot Girl Summer has arrived it’s bound to make a comeback), but it also coincides with the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, resulting in the loss of access to family planning for millions.

Thee Stallion spoke out about the impact this decision will have during her set at Glastonbury over the weekend, even getting the crowd to join her in a chant of “my body, my motherf*cking choice.”

“Texas [is] really embarrassing me right now,” she said. “I wanna have it on the record, that the hot boys and hot girls do not support this bullshit y’all campaigning for.”

As the plan B TikTok continues to make rounds online, some are making jokes about the possibilities about what could’ve gone down in the bedroom between MTS and her man, Pardison Fontaine, especially after we saw them tear up the dance floor with some wild moves in New York recently – read more about that here, and tap back in with HNHH later for more pop culture news updates

Nick Cannon Reflects On Having “Failed So Many Times At Monogamy”

Nick Cannon says that he isn’t ruling out the idea of marriage, despite having “failed miserably so many times at monogamy.” Cannon discussed his past relationships and his outlook on the future during an appearance on the All the Way with Shelley Wade podcast, Sunday.

“I’m a hopeless romantic at the end of the day, so I love the concept, I love the ceremony of it,” Cannon said. “I’ve failed miserably so many times at monogamy and relationships, but God ain’t done with me. We’re gonna figure it out.”

He continued to explain that he likes the direction he feels his love life is headed: “I think as I’m growing, I’ve probably had a few midlife crises in my life. I’m liking the man that I’m growing into and I feel like someone who will understand me and can stand by me.”

“Acts of service is a big [love language] for me,” Cannon explained. “It’s more about servitude and that sense of someone who you can serve each other and where you’re weak, they’re strong. And if I can ever find somebody that knows how to hold me down through all my madness, through all my chaos and toxicity, that’s probably somebody I can rock with for life.”

While he has eight children with several different women, Cannon has only been married once. From 2008 through 2016, he was married to  Mariah Carey. Cannon is expecting a ninth child with Abby De La Rosa, later this year.

Cannon’s most recent comments on marriage come after he appeared on the It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper podcast, last month, and shot down the idea of taking another relationship to that level.

Fake Drake Wants To Box His Lookalike For An OVO Deal & $1,000,000

35-year-old Drake is a busy man, between carrying out his duties as a father of one and overseeing things at OVO to celebrating the release of his No. 1 album, Honestly, Nevermind, the Canadian has a lot on his plate. Luckily, he now has a doppelganger to help carry out some of the responsibilities he’s not interested in.

As you may have seen online over the past few months, a man by name of Izzy has been making a name for himself solely based on his resemblance to the 6ix God, even taking the joke so far as to perform some of Champagne Papi’s songs in exchange for a paycheck.

With his notoriety continuing to rise, Fake Drake has been making more and more public appearances as of late, recently dropping by the We In Miami podcast to speak his mind about a few things.

“I’m challenging Drake to a boxing match,” Izzy declared. “I just signed with Celebrity Boxing. If you win, I’ll change my name from Izzy Drake to just Izzy, you know.”

If he wins, however, the lookalike is seeking “a million dollars, and I need to be signed to be OVO, ‘cuz I’m just trying to feed my family.”

So far, it doesn’t seem as though Drizzy has responded to the challenge, though OVO Mark dropped by the @nojumper comment section to call Fake Drake a “loser,” also suggesting that he “get a life.”

Earlier this month, the two shared a FaceTime call and seemingly confirmed an upcoming feature, and days after, we shared a story about the Toronto native reacting to his lookalike getting the boot from a club – read more about that here, and let us know if you’d like to see a boxing match between real Drake and Fake Drake in the comments below.

Giveon’s 2022 BET Awards Performance Was Faced With Technical Difficulties

Last night (June 26), the 2022 BET Awards took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The show featured performances from Lizzo, Jack Harlow, Doechii, Diddy, and more, and even saw a surprise appearance from a fully masked Kanye West who was tasked with presenting Diddy with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

An award show isn’t complete without at least one mishap though, and last night’s victim was Giveon. The singer led a 4-minute performance, singing a shortened version of hit song “Heartbreak Anniversary,” also including parts of “For Tonight” and “Lie Again,” from his latest album titled Give or Take which was released last Friday (June 24).

His performance began well enough, but around 20 seconds in, the singer seemingly began to experience technical difficulties and started to sing off-key. He visibly nudged his earpiece and had to switch his microphone before continuing with the performance.

Afterward, Giveon sought to downplay the issue and jokingly tweeted, “Not @BET sabotaging my mic [six laughing emojis]…… @LilNasX I get it!!!!” Giveon’s message towards the “INDUSTRY BABY” artist was in reference to Lil Nas’ grievances with BET due to his lack of nominations and general inclusion.

Twitter users were quick to make jokes in response to Giveon’s tweet although almost no one believed his claim of sabotage. One user wrote the R&B star, “It wasn’t the microphone. It was your vocals.” Another added, “oh baby the mic was on. the vocals wasn’t. and that’s okay.”

Someone else still referenced previous performers and wrote, “So, why was the microphone for @ChloeBailey functioning properly, then? Also, @MariahCarey and @Latto had microphones that were functioning properly, as well.”

Some users were quick to compare Giveon’s performance to Ray J at last week’s Verzuz battle, during which he failed to hit a note and was subsequently put on blast on Twitter.

Check out Twitter’s reaction to the fiasco below.
