James Harden’s Contract Plans Get An Update

James Harden was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers last season in what turned out to be a blockbuster deal that also involved none other than Ben Simmons. It was a huge move for both sides, and now, Harden is up for a brand new contract extension. Of course, the Sixers superstar has a $47 million option available for next season, and there have been rumblings of what Harden would do.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Harden is looking to opt-in on that remaining year for $47 million. This was not much of a surprise especially when you consider how Harden could never get that type of money again given his recent play. With that being said, it seems as though the Sixers and Harden are looking to keep an extension short, with two years as a sweet spot.

“James Harden is heading toward opting into that $47 million player option and then extending, perhaps by as many by two more years, at a significant number with the Sixers,” Wojnarowski said. “He will likely [sign] something short of a max contract, but still a significant commitment from Philly to keep him and for him to stay in Philadelphia.”

Any such deal will only be signed on June 30th, which is when free agency officially begins. With that being said, stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates from the basketball world.

Lil Nas X Made A Fake BET Awards Commercial To Hilariously Promote His Upcoming Single

Lil Nas X has made it clear in recent weeks that he has beef with the BET Awards. At the top of June, Nas commented about how he received “an outstanding zero nominations again” for the 2022 ceremony, adding, “black excellence!” He later went on to use the snub as a launching point to discuss “the bigger problem of homophobia in the black community.”

That was a couple weeks ago now but Nas hasn’t forgotten about the BET Awards, as he proves with his latest hilarious promo for his upcoming single, “Late To The Party.”

Last night, Nas shared a video that’s presented like a traditional sort of television commercial spot for the BET Awards broadcast. The differences are easy to spot once you get past the glossy veneer, though, like how all the B-roll is of Nas, Nas can be heard saying “F*ck BET” repeatedly in the background, and how the date and time of the awards show shown here is actually when Nas is releasing “Late To The Party” (this Friday at midnight ET). The ad is so well-executed that if it actually aired on TV, a viewer who wasn’t paying close attention probably wouldn’t suspect anything about it was unusual.

On top of that, Nas shared the art for the new single and it features a license plate, front and center in the image, that reads, “F*CK BET.”

This all comes after Nas, the master of promotion that he is, got eyes on him and his antics by coming up with some hilarious fake company partnerships in the name of “Late To The Party.”

Check out the promo video above.

Shawn Mendes, Javier Bardem, And Scoot McNairy All Star In The Singing Crocodile Movie That You Did Not See Coming

Have you ever watched the critically-acclaimed, award-winning classic Paddington and thought “maybe this could work if it was set in NYC, and he was a crocodile who can sing in the same style as Canadian pop singer Shawn Mendes?” Maybe not, but Sony Pictures took that thought and ran with it! Of course, it’s actually based on a children’s book, but the story is the same. Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile is an upcoming movie that will likely change the face of cinema for years to come, just like Cats and Minions.

The movie stars Shawn Mendes as the voice of the croc who befriends a child who just wants to show the world how great a singing crocodile can be, naturally. Mendes even told People that he “relates” to the story, which is really telling. And he wears a cute scarf!

It gets better: the movie stars Constance Wu, Javier Bardem, and Scoot McNairy, all of whom look like they are taking the role very seriously. McNairy is known for his serious, dark roles, in movies like Argo and 12 Years A Slave. Bardem is also one to take on more gritty roles, like No Country For Old Men and Mother! It is nice to see them having fun with a crocodile that sings. Here is the official synopsis:

When the Primm family (Constance Wu, Scoot McNairy, Winslow Fegley) moves to New York City, their young son Josh struggles to adapt to his new school and new friends. All of that changes when he discovers Lyle – a singing crocodile (Shawn Mendes) who loves baths, caviar and great music-living in the attic of his new home. The two become fast friends, but when Lyle’s existence is threatened by evil neighbor Mr. Grumps (Brett Gelman), the Primm’s must band together with Lyle’s charismatic owner, Hector P. Valenti (Javier Bardem), to show the world that family can come from the most unexpected places and there’s nothing wrong with a big singing crocodile with an even bigger personality.

Even though the premise is silly, that’s probably what people said about Paddington back in the day. And look at where he is now! The movie will be released in theaters (yes–it’s getting a wide release, not straight to streaming) on October 7th.

03 Greedo’s Family Are Hopeful That He’ll Get Parole: “It’s Looking Positive”

It’s been a few years since the #FreeGreedo campaign kicked off. There have been few updates in recent times surrounding 03 Greedo’s release but his presence remains felt in the streets. He’s unveiled a handful of projects since he was locked up and reportedly recorded upwards of 3,000 songs prior to his sentence.

This morning, reports began surfacing that Greedo might be coming home in the near future. Under Greedo’s parole review status on the Texas Department Of Criminal Justice website, it reads, “The offender is currently not in the review process. Offender was approved for release.” In the subsequent header, titled Last Parole Hearing, it says that on June 16th, 2022, he was “approved with completion of a program prior to release”

Still, there isn’t a formal confirmation that Greedo will be released from anyone in his camp. Per No Jumper, the rapper’s family is still unclear on whether his parole has been approved. Hopefully, we’ll receive a formal confirmation of his parole status in the near future. Jeff Weiss, who has been closely following the case, revealed that Greedo was not approved for parole but his family is hopeful for a positive outcome.

Greedo came through with a new single at the top of the year alongside BlueBucksClan, “Pourin’.” The single marked his first release since dropping his EP, 03 Inna Key. Prior to that, Greedo released Netflix & Deal with Kenny Beats and Still Summer In The Projects with Mustard.

We’ll keep you posted on more information surrounding Greedo’s release.

Chris Brown Reveals Diddy Wouldn’t Sign Him To Bad Boy Records

Chris Brown may be one of the most successful R&B stars of the century, but not everyone believed in his star power at first. In a recent interview on the Drink Champs podcast, the 33-year-old star spoke about how Diddy turned him down from Bad Boy when he was much younger.

“The funniest part- a lot of people don’t really know this- but Diddy turned me down,” said Brown. N.O.R.E. was eager to talk about it, asking the Virginia native if he danced for Diddy, too. “If you danced, he definitely would’ve signed you,” joked N.O.R.E.

“It’s love now. That’s family, that’s my brother now,” explained Brown. “Im’a keep it 100. So I was like 12, at this time. This was before I linked to Def Jam. It was me and one of my production managers’ son named TJ; he’s my brother to this day. Me and him were like a group.”

“What was the name of y’all group?” asked N.O.R.E., to which Brown responded with “We didn’t have no name.”

“This is why he didn’t sign y’all,” said N.O.R.E. to everyone’s amusement.

Since the initial shutdown, Diddy and Brown have collaborated on songs like 2011’s “Yesterday”, and both were seen hanging out with Busta Rhymes and Bryson Tiller last year.

Check out the Drink Champs clip below and stay tuned for the full episode to drop tomorrow.

In related news, Brown spoke on the constant barrage of Michael Jackson comparisons that have been thrown his way, saying that MJ is “lightyears ahead.”

Jake Paul & Tommy Fury Come To Terms On A Fight Date

Jake Paul and Tommy Fury have been going back and forth for a very long time. The YouTuber turned boxer was supposed to fight Fury back in December, however, an injury forced Fury to back out at the last minute. Since that time, Jake has been trying to secure another fight with Fury as fans are trying to see Paul go up against someone who actually knows how to box.

Today, Paul decided to levy an offer at Fury, saying “Tommy Fury, you pulled out last year. Then you agree to fight me now but your dad is trying to pull you out again? We’ve given you everything you asked for. You have 24 hours 2 clear this up or I will never give u this opportunity again.” Fury eventually replied to Paul, claiming the fight would go down on August 6th.

Despite this, Jake wasn’t finished as he continued to go off on Fury, stating “Tommy Fury and boxers like him are the reason this sport started to die.”

Fury did not like this one bit as he finally unleashed his wrath on Paul. “The fight is on. August 6th. Forget a team or any other bullshit,” Paul said. “I don’t need anybody to help me lay you flat on that canvas. Oh and thanks for finally signing the drug testing… you only agreed to it when you realised the fight was at risk – who needs who.”

Let us know who you think will win this fight, in the comments below.
