SoFaygo Displays His Melodic Prowess During XXL Freshman Freestyle

SoFaygo has been making quite the name for himself as of late. The artist continues to drop EPs and short projects to tide fans over until the release of Pink Heartz which will be his debut album. This new project is slated to release later in 2022, and fans are certainly excited for it to finally come out.

The artist has created a ton of buzz especially ever since signing with Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack imprint. His status in the game is rising and it just so happens that he was named to the 2022 XXL Freshman List. This is always a huge honor for young artists, and today, his freestyle was released by XXL.

As you can see in the clip down below, SoFaygo decided to get melodic with his flow as he recited the lyrics line by line as if he could already envision the beat that should have been playing underneath. At times, these freestyles are awkward because there is no production, and the lines are already part of another song. Despite this, SoFaygo did a good job controlling his voice and making things smooth.

There is no doubt that the artist has a ton of talent, and it is going to be interesting to see how he develops over the next few months. With Pink Heartz on the horizon, we are definitely in for a treat.

Let us know what you think of SoFaygo’s freestyle, in the comments section down below.

6ix9ine Unsuccessfully Claims He’s Lil Pump At Miami Gas Station

6ix9ine is one of the biggest trolls in all of hip-hop, however, most of the time, his trolling just comes across as mean-spirited and downright evil. From laughing at the death of King Von to making light of Lil Tjay’s recent surgery following a shooting, 6ix9ine has gone out of his way to show people that he is not a good person.

Despite all of this, his antics have allowed him to enjoy a shred of relevance in the hip-hop world. His music releases are few and far between these days, but when he does decide to drop, people pay attention, for better or for worse.

6ix9ine’s most recent appearance in the public eye took place in Miami recently, where he was at a gas station filling up his McLaren. While going inside to pay, it’s clear the workers recognized him as they began to film him and ask questions. The main question asked was “What’s your name, bro?” As you can see in the Instagram story reposted by DJ Akademiks, 6ix9ine told the workers he was Lil Pump, which drew skeptical reactions from those behind the counter.

The Instagram story is captioned “6ix9ine pulled up to olo gas station in a McLaren. Dat boy must think Miami sweet” which just goes to show that his attempts to conceal his identity were all for nothing.

6ix9ine is one of the most recognizable faces in hip-hop, and it is going to take a lot more than the efforts above to convince someone you are somebody else.

‘The Last Days of Black Rob’ is set to document the finals days leading up to the untimely death of former Bad Boy rapper, Black Rob. The East Harlem native died in April 2021 after suffering from kidney failure.

The documentary is executive produced by GE Films, Goldmouf Famgoon, Kal Dawson and Rey “G-Child” Mullen. Each EP played a vital role in helping to keep the spirit of Black Rob alive.

“The uniqueness of our connection to Rob is how we were all brought together,” says GE regarding Black Rob’s last days. “We all worked together to give Rob a helping hand when he came to Atlanta.”

In October of 2020, Kal Dawson booked Black Rob for some of his final shows as an artist, where one happened to be in Detroit with Beanie Sigel.

Famgoon regards the film as a wake up call.

“To see Black Rob’s situation, it was both sad but also gave me a spark,” said Famgoon. When you’re making money, strive to make the best investments, so you are prepared for what’s to come.”

One of the major elements of the film is the introduction and birth of MusicalArtistsUnion.org, which is led by Rey Mullen. As the world watched Black Rob’s untimely death unfold, many questions were raised on how to prevent this reoccurrence for other artists.

Therefore, the Musical Artists Union is a union formed to create a responsible United Voice to establish Fair Pay, Benefits, Healthcare Insurance, Drug Abuse and Mental Health Counseling for all artists in the musical industry.

‘The Last Days of Black Rob’ is set to premiere in both his hometown of Harlem on July 9 as well as Atlanta on July 16.

Producers Boi-1da And Cardo Defend Their Beat Prices Following Bobby Shmurda’s Viral Rant

Rapper Bobby Shmurda has sparked a conversation around the cost of instrumental tracks. Earlier this week, the “Hot N****” rapper took to Instagram to express his frustration with music producers, who he feels are overcharging for beats.

“These producers is giving me the hardest time right now,” said Shmurda in a video. “I’ve never seen no sh*t like this before. I done made over half a million for the year, it can’t be that bad outside.”

Shmurda, who is in the middle of working on a new project, also admitted he feels annoyed by the process of clearing samples. In response to his rant, producer Boi-1da, who is largely known for his work with Drake, took to the comments of a post by 2Cool2Blog to explain why beats are so expensive.

“Designer beats cost designer bread,” said Boi-1da.

“I’m just speaking up for the producer community… that’s all,” Cardo said. “No complaining of any sort … but y’all will not continue to try and step on [producers] over here. Cuz Im fasho with the bullsh*t. Just ask around.”

Rick Ross Wants To Buy Part Of The Philadelphia 76ers From Michael Rubin

Philadelphia 76ers part owner Michael Rubin is looking to sell his share of the team and Rick Ross wants in. On Wednesday, June 22, Rubin announced his impending departure from the ownership group, citing the growing responsibilities of his ownership of the Fanatics brand. With Fanatics launching a sports-betting division in the near future (a conflict of interest for anyone working in sports, let alone owning a team), Rubin is choosing his burgeoning business over his fandom. He explained the decision in a statement that he also posted on Instagram.

It didn’t take long for the business-minded Rick Ross to chime in in the comments, writing “I’ll buy his 10% lol.” While the “lol” implies that he’s joking, a lot of truth is said in jest. It would certainly make sense for Ross to cop a portion of a sports team. He’s a fixture courtside at his hometown Miami Heat games, he often makes savvy business decisions, and he’s certainly been cutting costs across the board, so he might just have the capital to buy in — provided he can put together an investment group to cover the difference. With a reported net worth of $45 million, he’s got a ways to go to reach the reported value of Rubin’s share, which has certainly grown from when the owner purchased it for $290 million in 2011. Maybe Jay-Z or Meek Mill can help out.
