Cam’ron Is Back In “Killa” Mode In New Funk Flex Freestyle

Cam’ron is arguably one of the best examples of an iconic era in New York rap history. Killa Cam, part of legendary trio The Diplomats (or Dipset), trailblazed through the early 2000’s with his intellect and wordplay. His skill, coupled with an overwhelming confidence and knack for flossing flashy thing, drew attention from listeners all over. Combining these worlds at such a high level earned Cam’ron critical acclaim and popularity, with platinum albums and records decorating the early parts of his career.

Cam’s first two albums released prior to 2000 gained some attention, but his 2002 Roc-A-Fella Records debut Come Home With Me solidified his position amongst the tight competition of that era. Come Home With Me debuted at number two on Billboard’s 200 and eventually achieved the much sought after platinum status. His 2004 offering, Purple Haze, had slightly less popularity among the masses, but those keyed in on hip hop praised it’s quality. The album is regarded as a classic by listeners that hold rap to a higher standard.

The all-over pink fur pioneer is an icon for some fashion moments and extravagant escapades, but one of his most impressive moments came by way of a legendary freestyle in The Basement with Big Tigger. Donning a pink bucket hat, earrings the size of a small flatscreen television, and a hand full of hundreds, he delivered immaculate cash talk over Scarface’s “On My Block” instrumental.

Now, in 2022, he’s back spitting that cash on Funk Flex. The lauded New York MC still has the tools he had back then, now with the relaxed presence that comes with age and time.

What do you think of Cam’ron’s appearance on Funk Flex? Let us know below.

Me? I’m just swerving different,
Merging different,
Wolf inside the henhouse, I’m observing chicken

Julia Fox Dated Drake Before Kanye West: Report

Julia Fox really hit us from out of nowhere in 2022 and it looks like her celebrity isn’t fading any time soon. Standing right by Ye’s side, the Uncut Gems actress continues to infiltrate the headlines as we all learn about her month-long relationship with one of music’s biggest geniuses.

One shocking headline came up this week about Ye’s new fox though, and it won’t please her man. According to reports from Page Six, Julia Fox actually dated Drake, Ye’s longtime rival, before she got with the Chicago-born rapper.

According to the outlet, Drake used to spoil Fox with gifts, including two Birkin bags, during their short-lived fling back in 2020. The 31-year-old actress reportedly used to stay at the rapper’s Toronto mansion periodically after Drake reached out on Instagram to compliment Fox on her role in Uncut Gems. After her relationship crumbled with Peter Artemiev, she started spending more time with Drake, but their fling was cut short because of the pandemic.

“They were closing the border [between Canada and the US], and she had to get back home,” said a source. Fox went on to rekindle her romance with Artemiev before they broke up, making room for her to date Ye.

Drake and Ye are back on good terms after they performed together at the Larry Hoover benefit concert in Los Angeles but this will surely put a frown on Ye’s face. What do you think of this story?

300 Entertainment Makes The Leap Into Film And TV With 300 Studios And A Docuseries About Bubba Wallace

Long known as the label home of artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Young Thug, and Thug’s YSL Records imprint, 300 Entertainment has become a juggernaut in the music world. Now, after Warner Music Group acquired 300 in December of 2021, the label looks to expand its dominance into the worlds of film and television.

Today, the company announced the launch of its new endeavor, 300 Studios, as well as its first television project: A docuseries following Nascar driver Bubba Wallace entitled Race: Bubba Wallace. Set to debut on Netflix next month, the six-episode Race will follow the life and career of the only full-time Black driver in the NASCAR Cup Series, contextualizing his position in the wake of concurrent controversies. Wallace confronted the social tensions of race when a noose was discovered in his garage stall amid protests over the police killing of George Floyd. While it was later discovered that the “noose” in question was a pull tie for the garage door, the incident still drew parallels to the very recent, violent history of anti-Black bigotry in the US.

300 Entertainment CEO Kevin Liles, a 30-year veteran of the music business, said in the press release, “I have dedicated my career to telling the story of our culture and investing in the artists and creatives who have shaped it around the world. With 300 Studios, I look forward to incubating, developing, and producing content for all formats that tell the important and inspired stories from the next generation of cultural innovators.” The announcement also notes that the studio already has 20 projects in development, including films, TV series, and podcasts.

300 Entertainment is a Warner Music company. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Tori Amos And Nine Inch Nails Are At The Top Of The ‘Yellowjackets’ Soundtrack Wish List For Season 2

There’s a case to be made that Yellowjackets is the best new television show in a decade (we made it right here), but it wasn’t perfect. You know how the hit series could have been better? With Tori Amos and Nine Inch Nails, that’s how.

Jen Malone is the music supervisor for Yellowjackets (and Euphoria, and Atlanta, and The Umbrella Academy), and in an interview with Vulture, she discussed how she wanted to include Amos in the soundtrack for season one but couldn’t find the right spot.

“We tried it, and it just wasn’t — we want to do Tori proud with the scene that we put her music to and we just couldn’t find the right one,” she said. “She’s so influential, to not only myself. Little Earthquakes, when I was in high school, that record was everything. I remember the first time I heard that record. Thank God we have season two.”

Would “Winter” be too on the nose?

Malone also revealed that Nine Inch Nails, especially something from Pretty Hate Machine, “is going to be [on] the top of the list next season. There’s so much for Yellowjackets that I’m just very excited to dig into in season two. We haven’t even scratched the surface with the songs from that time period. To reintroduce these artists to a whole new audience has been very special for both shows.”

Misty is the Tori Amos-meets-Nine Inch Nails of people. I can’t explain it, but I know it’s true.

PartyNextDoor Links With OG Parker To Plead For ‘No Fuss’ On An Apologetic Ballad

Fayetteville, Georgia producer OG Parker has been steadily growing in impact and esteem in the hip-hop world thanks to his hard-hitting beats for everyone from Migos to fast-rising newcomer DDG. His combination of trap and R&B has resulted in hits for the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, Ski Mask The Slump God, and more. On his latest single he reunites with PartyNextDoor, whose 2019 hit “Loyal” he produced, for “No Fuss,” a slow-burning, apologetic ballad addressing their wrongdoings toward a miffed lover.

“You caught me in a lie, I won’t deny it,” Party croons, admitting that “maybe the blame is on me / Might be moving too shady.” Nonetheless, though, they warn, “All the wrongs I’ve done, I feel empathy / But it’s wrong to hold on to this energy.” If anyone was worried that the Torontonian singer had moved on from his toxic ways on 2020’s Partymobile, it looks like they can rest assured that he’s still up to no good.

Party has been laying low since the release of his third album, although he did re-release his fan-favorite 2014 EP Colours to streaming in 2021. Will his new collab with OG Parker signal the beginning of a new project rollout? We’ll see. Meanwhile, OG Parker continues to roll out his own freestanding singles, which could mean a new project from his this year as well.

Elon Musk Slanders Joe Biden, Calls Him “A Damp Sock Puppet In Human Form”

Shots fired. After he wasn’t invited to a summit meeting including CEOs of Ford and General Motors at the White House on Thursday, January 27th, Elon Musk hopped onto Twitter to share his thoughts on President Joe Biden.

According to TMZ, the reason for the meeting was to help promote POTUS’ “Build Back Better” bill, and during it, he gave the company leaders “high marks for producing electric vehicles,” which Musk is said to have taken as a direct shot.

“Biden is treating the American public like fools,” the 50-year-old tweeted, adding “Biden is a damp [sock] puppet in human form” in another post.

A similar situation took place after he wasn’t invited to an electric vehicle summit at the White House in August of 2021. Press Secretary Jen Psaki explained at the time that invites had been sent out to “the three largest employers of the United Auto Workers,” which means that Musk was shut out because “Tesla’s factories are not unionized.”

The article also notes that the South African-born entrepreneur has also been beefing with Senator Elizabeth Warren, who is of the opinion that the SpaceX CEO doesn’t pay enough income tax.

In response to this, Musk replied, “you remind me of when I was a kid and my friend’s angry mom would just randomly yell at everyone for no reason.”

In other news, the father of seven also didn’t hold back when slandering fellow billionaire Jeff Bezos for his lack of work ethic, calling the 58-year-old out for how much time he spends in the hot tub – read more about that here.

Jake Paul Defends His Boxing Career In Interview With Stephen A. Smith

Jake Paul is one of the biggest boxers in the world right now, and while that might piss some people off, it is the reality in which we are living right now. Paul has proven himself to be quite good in the ring, and he has managed to defeat former MMA fighters like Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley, while also taking home fights against lesser opponents such as Nate Robinson.

The biggest criticism of Jake Paul has been that he doesn’t fight against real boxers. Stephen A. Smith brought this up in an interview with Jake yesterday, although Paul chimed in with an interesting response.

In his view, he has been going up against people who have had similar odds to win as he has. This led to a conversation about Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez, who both fought against scrubs while they were rising in their careers. Paul then went on to say that his opponents were training in their respective sports, while he was on the Disney channel. Simply put, Paul believes his fast progress is beyond impressive.

“I was on Disney Channel while these guys were winning UFC Championships!” Paul said. “I’ve always gone against people where the odds are even.”

It remains to be seen who Jake will fight next, so stay tuned to HNHH as we will be sure to bring you all of the latest updates.
