Soulja Boy Checks Lil B After The BasedGod Claims Wiz Khalifa Was The First Rapper On Twitter

Not to be outdone, Soulja Boy is once again staking his claim on yet another “I did it first” moment. We’re all familiar with the impact that Soulja Boy has had in Hip Hop, especially as it pertains to helping the genre effortlessly transition into the social media wave. Soulja has been hailed as the first rapper to do dozens of things in the industry and he’s responsible for setting forth trends that still exist today, so whenever there is a declaration about another rapper launching a movement, he’s quick to jump in with a correction.

Such was the case earlier today (January 31) when Lil B tried giving Wiz Khalifa his props about his influence on Twitter.

“Wiz Khalifa was the 1st rapper I seen on twitter this was during MySpace he was already huge on twitter! – Lil B,” he tweeted confidently. It didn’t take long for Soulja to add his two cents. “[Crying laughing emojis] you must be high as Fuk I was the first rapper on twitter B stop that,” he responded.

Then, screenshots emerged to prove that Soulja was on the microblogging platform before Wiz, fueling Soulja’s fans to sing his praises throughout his timeline. Meanwhile, others have noted that Snoop Dogg was on Twitter before both aforementioned artists, so the war over the “I did it first” spot continues.

India Arie Removes Catalog From Spotify: “I Find Joe Rogan Problematic”

The ongoing Spotify drama has taken a new turn now that India Arie has entered the chat. The beloved Soul and R&B singer has been observing the tit-for-tat between the famed streaming platform and artists looking to remove their catalogs. Neil Young set forth the movement when he publicly declared that he wanted his music axed from Spotify due to the platform allowing The Joe Rogan Experience to continue spreading what he dubbed to be misinformation about COVID and its vaccines.

Spotify bowed to the music icon’s request and dropped his catalog, but they ran into another hiccup when legend Joni Mitchell asked for the same. She, too, did not agree with Spotify keeping Joe Rogan on the air.

Rogan has come forward with promises that he will make changes and Spotify shared a statement where they insist they have been monitoring misinformation amid the pandemic, but that did not keep India Arie from adding her name to the growing list of artists. In a statement she uploaded to social media, Arie detailed why she has chosen to remove her music from Spotify, as well.

“I have decided to pull my music and podcast from Spotify,” she wrote. “Neil Young opened a door that I MUST walk through. I believe in freedom of speech. However, I find Joe Rogan problematic for reasons OTHER than his Covid interviews… FOR ME ITS ALSO HIS language around race. What I am talking about is RESPECT – who gets it and who doesn’t.”

“Paying musicians a Fraction of a penny? and HIM $100?” Arie questioned. “This shows the type of company they are and the company that they keep. I’m tired.” Recently, Rogan caught a wave of backlash, including a clap back from The Daily Show‘s Trevor Noah, after he discussed why Black people are called “black” and determined who deserves the descriptor.

“But see, Drake and Wayne…they…Drake and Wayne have so many bonafide Hip Hop hits, you know what I’m sayin’?” Nicki answered. “So, I don’t know, but I do think there might be a female or two that…” She trailed off and seemed to want to keep her choices close to the chest, but the radio hosts did their best to get the information out of her.

“Well, they were talking to me about it, and look, if it’s gonna be a fun and like, you know, then you never know!” she teased. “That’s all I’ll say about that… It should feel like a celebration. Alyssa Scott Shares Message Amid News Nick Cannon Is Expecting Baby With Bre Tiesi

By now, the world knows that Baby No. 8 is on the way for Nick Cannon and he is welcoming this little one with Wild ‘N Out model Bre Tiesi who finalized her divorce from NFL’s Johnny Manziel back in November. Photos of Cannon and Tiesi’s gender reveal party circulated online and to control the narrative, Cannon took to his talk show to confirm the news. This came as a surprise to the public, especially considering Cannon and Alyssa Scott recently shared that they lost their baby, Zen Cannon, to brain cancer.

“I wanted to definitely respect the grieving process with Alyssa, and Bre was respectful enough – she held off making our announcements and speaking on social media. She’s a very, you know, in the public eye type of person, but keeps her stuff private as well,” said Cannon.

Scott addressed the concerns in a lengthy Instagram Story post where she thanked those who reached out with kind words.

“I always say Zen expanded my heart in ways I never thought possible,” she wrote. “It is painful having my son be apart of conversations that aren’t in alignment with his light and legacy. It isn’t something I chose for him or myself.” She said she is “centered” and “at peace,” and looks “at everyone’s predicament with loving eyes.”

“I will not judge. I will consciously decide what I will participate in. I am surrounded by love.” In another post, she revealed that she knew in August that “Zen’s time on this earth would be limited,” and Scott expressed gratitude that Baby Zen was surrounded by love throughout his brief life. Netflix’s “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” Reboot Trailer Will Send Shivers Down Your Spine: Watch

Halloween is a long way away, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a horror movie marathon anyway. Earlier today (January 31st), Netflix unleashed the trailer for its Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot, which sees the return of the infamous villain Leatherface after a five-decade-long hibernation.

“The film takes place a long time after the original Texas Chainsaw,” star Elsie Fisher explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “It’s about a group of people who come to this town and things don’t quite go as planned. It mixes a lot of important real-life issues with horror these, which is always something I love.”

Other cast members include Sarah Yarkin, Mark Burnham, Jacob Latimore, Moe Dunford, Olwen Fouéré, Alice Krige, Jessica Allain and Nell Hudson. In the director’s chair was David Blue Garcia (known for projects like Tejano and Blood Fest), and production was taken care of by Fede Álvarez and Rodo Sayagues.

“I think the first movie really hit a nerve when portraying that culture clash between the countryside and the city,” Álvarez told EW. “Back in the ’70s, the hippies were representing the youth of the city.”

“This time, they’re more like millennial hipsters from Austin who are very entrepreneurial and have a dream of getting away from the city and back to the countryside. They’re trying to gentrify small-town America — and let’s just say they encounter some pushback.”

Check out the trailer for Texas Chainsaw Massacre, arriving exclusively on Netflix Friday, February 18th below, and let us know if you plan to tune in in the comments.

“The Walking Dead” Actor Moses J. Moseley Passes Away At 31 Of Suspected Suicide: Report

Sadly, there is another breaking news report about a suspected suicide coming out of Hollywood. There has been a wave of tragedies related to the entertainment industry in recent weeks, including the deaths of the children of Regina King, Chris Daughtry, and Michael Madsen; in addition to reports of Peter Robbins, the early voice of Charlie Brown, and former Miss USA Chelsie Kryst’s untimely passings. All of the deaths are suspected or have been confirmed to be suicides.

On Monday (January 31), TMZ reported that Moses J. Moseley, an actor who famously was featured in The Walking Dead as one of Michonne’s zombies, has also lost his life in what authorities are said to believe was also a suicide.

The outlet stated that they spoke with one of Moseley’s relatives that revealed the actor’s remains were located “in the Hudson Bridge area of Stockbridge, GA.” That family member also reportedly stated that the last time Moseley made contact was “Sunday of last week” and since that time, they executed a personal search before filing an official missing person report with the authorities. It wasn’t until they reached out to OnStar that they were able to track down Moseley’s vehicle and soon, his remains.

The 31-year-old actor was said to have died of a gunshot wound and although suicide is suspected, police are continuing to investigate.

“He was loved by everyone who met him,” his manager, Tabatha Minchew, reportedly told TMZ. “Such a bright light in everyone’s eyes.” We offer our sincerest condolences to Moses J. Moseley’s loved ones through this difficult time.

NLE Choppa Cosplays As Batman In The Stark ‘Stompin’ Video

19-year-old Memphis rapper NLE Choppa (born Bryson Lashun Potts) has come a long way in two years. After breaking out in a big way back in early 2019, then just 17, Choppa slowly but surely began to build out his discography beyond his viral hit “Shotta Flow.” Signing a deal with Warner Records, the teenage rapper released his Cottonwood EP in early 2020, along with his debut album, Top Shotta, and a mixtape shortly after called From Dark To Light. Given his output during that short one year span, it makes sense that Choppa held off on full-length releases last year, but came back in strong at the top of 2022 with his second album, Me Vs. Me just last Friday.

Now, he’s following up the album’s release with a new video for “Stompin,” in which he plays a whole host of characters, including none other than The Dark Knight himself. Switching gears for other visceral roles like a butcher tenderizing meat (with lots of blood splatter), and even finds himself in a similar situation to the lethal hypnotism that trapped Daniel Kaluuya’s character in Get Out. Check out the new video for “Stompin” above and stream the Me Vs. Me mixtape, which includes features from Young Thug, Polo G and G. Herbo, right here.

The Brat Loves Jesseca stars are set to tie the knot next month, on February 22nd – Da Brat’s first child likely only has her even more filled with anticipation for the big day, and what’s to come with her wife in the future. Dupart, on the other hand, has three children from previous relationships.

Although they haven’t yet shared the sex of their baby, while hosting Dish Nation in 2020, the “Give It 2 You” hitmaker revealed that she already has a name in mind for her future daughter. “My child will have all of my names, honey,” she said at the time.

“Her name would be Legacy Shawntae Dupart. Shawntae is my first name and Dupart is my baby’s last name. Yes honey, carry on the legacy of your parents darling.”

Da Brat and Dupart got engaged last year, confirming the news in August while hosting a Coming To America-themed party that was documented on their WE TV series.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
