Lil Nas X Takes His Fake Pregnancy To The Next Level By Sharing A Baby Registry

Lil Nas X always commits to a concept. When his viral track “Old Town Road” took off, the musician was always seen sporting a cowboy hat. Now, Lil Nas X is gearing up for the release of his debut album Montero by faking a pregnancy and is never without his massive baby bump. Further leaning into his pregnancy cosplay, Lil Nas X has officially opened a “baby registry.”

Much like everything else he does, Lil Nas X’s baby registry isn’t typical. Instead of linking to items like onesies or cribs, Lil Nas X is using the baby registry as a way for fans to donate to important charities.

Lil Nas X made the announcement on social media alongside a few photos of him chilling with is faux-pregnant stomach. “Me and my team have set up a ‘baby registry’ for many charities if you guys would like to donate,” he wrote.

The registry is set up to mimic his Montero album’s tracklist, with each song linking to a different charity. Some of the organizations include the Transinclusive Group, which aims to create a safe space for transgender and gender non-conforming people of color to be their authentic selves, and The Bail Project, a national nonprofit organization on a mission to end cash bail, one of the key drivers of mass incarceration and structural racism in the US criminal legal system.

Montero is out 9/17 via Columbia. Pre-order it here.

R. Kelly ‘Does Not Get Any Special Accommodations’ In Jail Despite His Celebrity Status

R. Kelly is currently behind bars as he continues his trail after being accused of grooming and sexually abusing several minors. The disgraced singer has been in jail since July 2019, but despite his fame and the high-profile nature of his case, the singer is reportedly not granted any special accommodations.

Kelly has spent his time at two federal prisons, the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago and now the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. A recent report from Billboard details the singer’s stay, with his former lawyer Michael Leonard claiming he only leaves his small cell for two hours a day. “Kelly has spent the majority of his time in the Chicago lock-up, where Leonard says he is only allowed out of his 8×10, two-person cell for a few hours day to check his email, talk to his lawyers, make phone calls, shower and eat, with no access to the rooftop basketball court that is typically available during non-COVID times,” Leonard says. The lawyer added that “every once in a blue moon” Kelly sings for his fellow inmates “and the place would go crazy.”

Other than being granted additional access to his lawyers via video calls due to his “limitations with reading and writing,” Kelly “does not get any special accommodations,” according to attorney Stacey Richman. “He will get the same food as everyone else,” Richman said. “He, like everyone else, will have commissary money so he can access more foods and sundries.” Richman added that he could potentially get the chance to trade his autograph for more commissary items items, which includes boxes of Ramen noodles, tuna pouches, and packets of cookies.

Kelly continues to attend court where some of his accusers have testified about they abuse they’ve faced. Most recently, a male victim claimed Kelly sexually exploited him when he was just 17-years-old.

Maxo Kream Continues His Comeback With Tyler The Creator And Their Boisterous ‘Big Persona’ Video

Houston rapper Maxo Kream recently announced his return to the rap game with “Local Joker,” ending a two-year hiatus that began shortly after the release of his second studio album, Brandon Banks. That album’s follow-up, Weight Of The World, is now on the way with an October due date and in the meantime, Maxo has offered up a preview in the form of the album’s latest single, “Big Persona” featuring Tyler The Creator, who also produced its boisterous beat.

Tyler and Maxo cruise in a Rolls-Royce truck in the video, which sees Tyler embracing his new bellhop persona, once again showing off his luxury luggage collection, while Maxo embraces his lady’s baby belly in anticipation of his impending fatherhood. Meanwhile, the title “Big Persona” does double duty, not only describing the rappers’ charismatic public images but also paying tribute to Maxo’s late brother. Persona is also the name of Maxo’s streetwear brand and label, further expanding on the creative play on words.

Weight Of The World will continue to honor Maxo’s brother, detailing his life and taking stock of the impact of his absence. Family has long figured into Maxo’s work; Brandon Banks similarly focused on the generational qualities he inherited from his father.

Rampage Jackson Slams Jon Jones For Being A Dirty Fighter

Jon Jones is one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time and while he is currently in contract disputes with Dana White, there is no doubt that he is still fondly looked at by the fans out there. He has done a lot throughout his career and he has beaten some massive legends. In 2011, he took down Rampage Jackson in a fight that the latter is still quite angry about. Jackson believes Jones was fighting dirty throughout the entire bout and even to this day, he has quite a lot to say about the man that now fights as a heavyweight.

During an interview on the “Calabasas Fight Companion” show, Jackson spoke about their fight and how the UFC had to go out of its way to change the rules as a result of Jones’ knee kicks. As a result, Jackson doesn’t have all that much respect for Jones.

“He’s the dirtiest fighter, too. They had to change the rules because of him,” Jackson said. “When I fought him, whenever I was, like, have any type of advantage, he would put his fingers in my eye. Your eyeball is your weakest thing in your body, right? So when I was fighting him, he was like this (outstretched arm and fingers) the whole time. It’s hard to train for this, too.

“He’d poke me in the eye, and then when you come in and advance, he’d kick your knee backwards. They should make that illegal. It was really hard fighting him. If anybody got any advantage on him, he was gonna kick your knee backwards, keep you away and he’s gonna figure that out.”

Jones has always been a controversial figure in the sport and this is just another example of that. At this point, however, it’s hard to imagine how this would even affect Jones, as fans have already made up their minds on him anway.

Ari Lennox Announces New Single This Friday

In 2019, Dreamville’s Ari Lennox released her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby, an acclaimed project that features guest appearances from labelmates J.I.D and J. Cole.

Since then, it’s been relatively quiet for the melodist — though she has kept her fans satisfied by holding it down on Revenge Of The Dreamer 3. Luckily, all signs seem to suggest that she’ll be delivering her sophomore release before the year is done, beginning with the arrival of her brand new single “Pressure.”

“Pressure this Friday 09.10.21,” captions Lennox, taking to Instagram to preview the upcoming track and video. “Pre-save link in bio.” Though the snippet isn’t exactly lengthy, it does seem to point to a smooth and soulful release — one that brims with confidence, a sign that bodes well for her Shea Butter Baby follow-up.

Speaking of which, there’s really little we know about Lennox’s next plan — or those of her Dreamville labelmates, for that matter. We can only hope that a few come through to hold it down on Ari’s next album, as she’s already exhibited strong musical chemistry with both J. Cole and J.I.D (who is also due to release some new music). We’ll have to wait and see if the release of “Pressure” also brings forth some concrete details about her future plans.

In the meantime, stay tuned for more news on Ari Lennox’s return with “Pressure” — due for release on Friday.

50 Cent Attributed Michael K. Williams’ Death To A Fentanyl Overdose And Fans Are Calling Him Out

We all react to bad news in different ways and while it’s generally acknowledged that folks are allowed to process grief anyway they can, some of those coping mechanisms just aren’t socially acceptable. Over the long weekend, fans of The Wire and Lovecraft Country were dismayed to learn that actor Michael K. Williams — who starred in both shows, as well as many more beloved films and television series — had passed away, found dead at home at the age of 54. While many shared their distress at the news, offering loving tributes to the well-respected actor, one celebrity’s post instantly sparked a backlash.

50 Cent, the former rapper and current Starz production powerhouse responsible for such series as Raising Kanan and BMF, is well-known for using his platform to troll his enemies (or just about anyone in the news, really) on social media, then use the attention to promote his various business endeavors. This time, however, his usual strategy backfired as he underestimated just how well-liked Michael K. Williams really was. “Damn if you didn’t see Raising Kanan check it out that fentanyl is no joke, killing the clientele,” he captioned the post. “RIP michael k. williams.” The accompanying photo was a screenshot of a New York Post headline — since-deleted — attributing Williams’ death to a suspected overdose.

Fans weren’t pleased with the post, using the opportunity to censure 50 for his near-relentless trolling and the tasteless decision to use someone’s death to advertise his show. Some attributed 50’s reaction to pettiness over a three-year-old disagreement between 50 and music executive James Rosemond, Jr., a.k.a. Jimmy Henchman, who is serving a life sentence for commissioning a hit on one of 50’s friends. When Williams shared a video defending Rosemond from a rumor that he was attacked in prison, 50 seemingly decided to add Wiliams to his long, long list of enemies.

50 has since deleted the offending posts, but screenshots are forever. Check out some of the responses to his petty post below.
