Kyle Kuzma Speaks Out On His Future With The Lakers

While the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs on Thursday night, the team still has a lot to look forward to next year. The summer will give LeBron James and Anthony Davis enough time to get healthy, all while the team will be able to make some big moves in the offseason in order to improve the team. Meanwhile, young players like Kyle Kuzma will be returning, which will certainly help keep some depth to the roster.

Following the Lakers’ loss on Thursday, Kuzma spoke to reporters about how he felt throughout the season and whether or not he is leaving the season with confidence. As Kuzma explained, he has seen it all while with the Lakers and that he just wants to continue getting better. His comments confirm the idea that he still wants to be a Laker, and we’re sure Rob Pelinka will be happy to hear that.

“I’ve been through a bunch of different eras here — a rebuilding stage, LeBron’s first year here and figuring out and win championships and then this year,” Kuzma said. “Only speaking for myself I think this year I made incredible strides of becoming a winning player, making the right play, being a real valuable asset on a defensive end. I got a lot of growth in me. I can’t wait to get there.”

While fans have been tough on Kuzma, there is no doubt that he is a solid player, who can give this team a lot of offense when he’s dialed in.

De La Soul’s Catalog Could Finally Be Heading To Streaming Services

Tommy Boy Records, the label that launched some of the 80’s and 90’s greatest acts (Queen Latifah, Coolio, and Digital Underground) under the direction of Tom Silverman, has been sold to music-rights company Reservoir for $100 million. Under the terms of the new deal, the masters of artists signed under Silverman will be passed over to the new company — something De La Soul fans are hoping is a step in a positive direction. The trio had previously advocated against Tommy Boy Records for lack of proper compensation or fair business practices.

The Long Island rap group’s catalog returned to Silverman in 2017 after Warner Records divested several of their holdings. However, the group quickly found that Silverman had no intention of treating the legendary rap act fairly, forcing them into a deal where the group took only 10% of streaming profits compared to the label’s 90%. Frustrated by label manipulation, group member Maseo said in 2019, “We’re completely missing a significant part of this digital era because of all the infractions that exist with the back catalog,” adding that he had to tour extensively to make up lost earnings.

At the time of the news, other legendary rappers of the same era rose to their defense. Figures like Nas and Questlove called for a boycott of Tommy Boy Records. Though negotiations were said to have continued, nothing had been resolved by the start of 2021.

Reservoir, who now owns six of the group’s records, is said to have every intention of working alongside the group. In a statement to Variety, the company stated, “We have already reached out to De La Soul and will work together to bring the catalog and the music back to the fans.”

The group themselves explained in an Instagram post that they feel “a sense of greater peace of mind” following the deal.

Along with music from De La Soul, the purchase also turned over classic hits like Coolio’s “Gangster’s Paradise” and House of Pain’s “Jump Around.” Do you think this was a good move for De La Soul? Will you continue to stream their catalog? Let us know!

Chrissy Teigen Drops Out Of Acting Role Amid Courtney Stodden Scandal

Once one to tweet her every thought, Chrissy Teigen has been noticeably absent from social media as of late. The model and television personality dramatically deleted her Twitter in March after constant criticism, returning the following month with the sentiment, “I choose to take the bad with the good!!”

She went on a second hiatus shortly after internet users dug up old tweets where she viciously cyberbullied Courtney Stodden on the platform. “[Chrissy] wouldn’t just publicly tweet about wanting me to take ‘a dirt nap’ but would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself,” Stodden told The Daily Beast. “Things like, ‘I can’t wait for you to die.’” After already losing a Target partnership due to the tweets, Teigen has also reportedly dropped out of an acting gig in wake of the controversy.

According to reportsTeigen had been on board for going voiceovers for an upcoming Netflix series Never Have I Ever season 2. She has now opted out of the gig. The series follows a first-generation Indian American teenage girl and her experiences in high school.

Stodden became the subject of Teigen’s bullying after marrying 60-year-old Doug Hutchison at the age of 16. Stodden explains that Teigen “bullied,” “harassed,” and “slut-shamed” them. She’s repeatedly apologized for her actions and notes she was a different person who sought attention in the wrong way back then.

She’s been off social media for nearly a month now. As for Stodden, they haven’t been very forgiving of Chrissy either, noting she was a hypocrite for staying off Twitter because of the bullying.

With losing her Target partnership and now losing this role, it’s no telling what other consequences Teigen may face.

Logan Paul Pays Homage To Hasbulla Magomedov Ahead Of Mayweather Fight

For those who don’t spend every waking moment on the internet, there is a new personality who has been blowing up on TikTok and various other platforms. That person just so happens to be 18-year-old Hasbulla Magomedov, who has been called “Mini Khabib” due to the fact that he is also from Dagestan. Hasbulla has a medical condition that is responsible for his size, however, he has never let it stop him from achieving his dreams. In fact, Hasbulla is set to fight Tajik singer Abdu Rozik in an event that has many Hasbulla fans excited.

Logan Paul has taken notice of Hasbulla and recently, he paid homage to the Dagestanian. Paul is set to face off against Floyd Mayweather on Sunday, and ahead of the match, Paul stated that he is looking to unleash his “inner Hasbulla.”

“I know as long as I channel my inner Hasbulla, the greatest fighter of our time, we are going to get the job done,” Paul said. “I’m channeling him. The fiercest warrior the world has ever seen. We love Hasbulla. I want him to walk out with me. Give me Hasbulla!”

Logan is a massive underdog in his fight against Mayweather and it is going to take a miracle for him to win. However, if he pulls it off, we can only imagine what kind of cesspool Twitter will become.

Mariah Carey Allegedly Quits Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Management Company

Roc Nation, headed by rap mogul and legend Jay-Z, is one of the most powerful forces in the music industry. Boasting an impressive roster of artists signed to the label like Normani, Rihanna, Snoh Aalegra while managing artists like Megan thee Stallion, Moneybagg Yo, and Tinashe, the full-service agency is among the most impressive in the game.

According to new reports, however, it looks like the company may have to carry on without one big name. A source close to Mariah Carey alleges that the superstar quit Jay’s management company after a heated argument between the two.

The source claims that the pair got into it in a meeting discussing the future of Mariah’s career that then pushed her to quit. The “We Belong Together” songstress signed with Roc Nation back in 2017 and her departure comes just three and a half years after signing the deal.

A source told The Sun, “Mariah and Jay had an explosive meeting which did not go well at all. She has made it clear she wants nothing more to do with him and has called it quits with Roc Nation.”

They furthered, “She will formally depart in the next few weeks. It is a shame because they had done some great work in the last few years. But this meeting couldn’t have gone much worse.”

“Mariah has been talking to other managers and thinks she has found someone who she feels has full belief in her as she takes her next steps. There is a heavily R&B- influenced album being finalised at the moment and she is planning a world tour for next year, so she isn’t letting this stand in her way,” the source finished.

The singer has since been removed from the list of acts represented by Roc Nation on the website. Carey has had a successful year though, releasing her memoir last year and also earning her first UK No.1 song with “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

Neither Carey nor Jay has commented publically on the matter.

Steven Victor Confirms New Pop Smoke Album Is On The Way

Pop Smoke’s presence dominated the summer of 2020, months after his tragic death. The release of Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon was a commercial smash, producing records like “The Woo” ft. Roddy Ricch and 50 Cent, “For The Night” ft. DaBaby and Lil Baby, and many others. Plus, the deluxe edition fulfilled fans’ desire for more drill-centric anthems.

There have been public discussions surrounding a second posthumous Pop Smoke album. 50 Cent has already revealed that he probably won’t have a role on it while fans have demanded more unreleased music. Thankfully, Steven Victor is working relentlessly to bring fans new music in the near future. The founder of Victor Victor took to Twitter where he revealed that a new album from Pop Smoke was on the way.

It seems that the Victor Victor line-up for the foreseeable future will give fans plenty more music outside of the posthumous release from Brooklyn drill rapper. Fans who’ve been longing for new music from Pusha T will be happy to know that Steven Victor confirmed that the follow-up to Daytona is also on the way. Steven Victor will also release new music from Nigo, as well.

No word on when we might be able to expect any of these albums but it seems Steven Victory has a busy summer ahead of himself.

Q Re-Ups “The Shave Experiment” With A New Director’s Cut

Q is one of the industry’s most promising rising stars. After signing to Columbia Records, the South Florida artist spent most of 2020 working on his EP The Shave Experiment. Garnering rave reviews from critics, the critics, Q, whose full legal name is actually Q Steven Marsden, experimented with a funkier, upbeat production on the tape marking a slight departure from his previous work.

He followed up the thrilling tape with the reloaded edition The Shave Experiment (Director’s Cut) on Friday (June 4). I really don’t work with people that much, but when I do it is a different experience.”
