Magic & Steve Clifford Part Ways After Abysmal Season

While the Orlando Magic has been trying to build its roster over the last few years, it’s clear that things haven’t always worked out for them. Compared to the rest of the league, the Magic are in a smaller market which usually leads to constant rebuilds and uncertainty. In 2021, they traded multiple solid players at the deadline as guys like Aaron Gordon wanted out of the franchise. This created a headache for head coach Steve Clifford, who had to make do with a fairly weak squad.

In the end, the Magic went 21-51, all while finishing 14th in the Eastern Conference standings. According to Yahoo! Sports, the Magic and Clifford have been in talks since the end of the season, and today, they agreed to mutually part ways. In fact, the team is now looking at Terry Stotts, who was recently let go by the Portland Trail Blazers.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Magic will be able to get Stotts although if one thing is for certain, this team is in for a long and strenuous rebuild. These types of undertakings don’t happen overnight and as it stands, Magic fans are in for a few more years of suffering.

“Botched” Surgeon Warns Brazilian Butt Lift Operations Are Deadly

Of the many cosmetic surgeries available, millennial and Gen-Z circles are flocking to one in particular: the Brazilian butt lift (or BBL). The operation, which involves removing excess fat from the hips, thighs, or stomach and transferring that to reshape the butt, has become a point of interest for young people, and even celebrities. Well, it seems that the fad is wearing out its welcome as more and more issues arise from the controversial surgery. Dr. Terry Dubrow, known for his work healing those with cosmetic surgery mishaps on the show “Botched”, held nothing back during an interview with TMZ, calling the surgery “the most fatal operation there is” and strongly advising those interested to stay away from it.

“It’s extraordinarily dangerous. It turns out that it’s the most dangerous, not only plastic surgery procedure, it’s the most dangerous operation there is with the highest fatality rate,” the famed surgeon said. The surgeon, who continues to advocate for safe and healthy cosmetic surgery outside of his show, made news a few years ago after warning Cardi B against frequent appointments under the knife.

Dubrow continued to cite the specific risks of the surgery. “The problem is there’s these very small, little veins in the buttock that leads directly to the vena cave, which is the major blood vessel that brings blood back from your body to your heart, to your lungs. If you get fat in those little vessels and it gets in the main vena cava and goes to your lungs, it’s over,” he continued.

The surgery carries a financial burden, as well. The cheapest of establishments offering the operation have a minimum price of $10,000 and patients often have to travel long distances to see a surgeon who offers it.

Dr. Dubrow is highly respected in his field, so those who may be looking into the surgery may want to take his advice to heart. In the interview, he suggests alternatives like regular exercise to achieve similar results.

Jake Paul Has A Warning For Dana White In Light Of Unfair Pay Discourse

Jake Paul and Dana White clearly don’t like each other, and it doesn’t seem like the beef is going to end, anytime soon. In fact, over the past few weeks, Paul has been advocating for equal pay when it comes to fighters in the UFC. Paul has stated that the best fighters in MMA are coming to boxing because they know they can actually get paid what they are worth. This is a sentiment that was echoed on Friday as Paul took part in a stare-down with Tyron Woodley.

“There’s a movement, moving forward that is gonna show that fighters should be getting paid more,” Paul said. “It’s unfair. The UFC fighters don’t have fair pay. Out of all the sports, the percentage that the owners get versus the athlete, they’re the lowest. Francis Ngannou vs. Jon Jones, that fight should happen. Dana White, pay them the $10 million. He’s taking their money. They’re the ones making the content. They’re the ones getting in the ring, risking their life.”

Paul also spoke on fighter Chris Weidman who broke his leg in the Octagon. As Paul correctly points out, these fighters are risking their lives for the sport, only for White to deprive them of the money they deserve.

“Chris Weidman goes in, snaps his leg in half,” Paul said. “What’s that look like? He might never be able to fight again and provide food for his family. These fighters are risking their lives. You can quite literally die in the ring and they need to be compensated more. I’m a big proponent of that movement and being in control. It’s just like music labels, same thing. These artists are getting owned and they get locked up into these s**tty contracts and they don’t know what to do.”

UFC fighters have complained about poor pay in the past although White has done very little to change things. He has been known for blaming the fighters for when contracts go through, and now, people are starting to get sick of it. With Paul leading the charge, perhaps UFC fighters will have a bit more leverage, moving forward.

ASAP Rocky’s Documentary ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ Will Premiere At This Year’s Tribeca Film Festival

Back in 2019, ASAP Rocky spent more than a month in a Swedish jail following a brawl involving him and his entourage and which left one Mustafa Jafari with a number of injuries. The incident saw heavy news coverage, as the rapper’s fans, fellow artists, and then-President Donald Trump called for his freedom. In the end, Rocky was charged and convicted of assault, given a suspended prison sentence, and hit with a fine of $1,270 in damages to the victim. The conviction did not, however, require any additional prison time, nor did it bar him from returning to the country. Now, nearly two years later, Rocky will recap the incident in its entirety in a new documentary.

According to Rap-Up, the film, entitled Stockholm Syndrome, is set to premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, as a part of the showcase’s Juneteenth programming on Sunday, June 13, at 8 p.m. The 105-minute film is directed by The Architects and will cover the rapper’s stay at the Swedish jail through interviews, archival footage, live concert footage, and more. It will also feature apperances from Kim Kardashian, Naomi Campbell, Tyler, the Creator, Michèle Lamy, and A$AP Ferg.

Stockholm Syndrome chronicles the meteoric rise of this contemporary trendsetter,” a press release for the film reads. “Capturing the exuberance of youth and urgency of hip-hop in equal parts, before taking a detour into darkness.”

Roddy Ricch Recounts Meeting Jay-Z At The Grammys

The rise of Roddy Ricch in 2020 marked the arrival of a new star from Compton. The 22-year-old rapper has witnessed a tremendous amount of commercial success during the past year including two #1 singles and a Grammy award. Unfortunately, he didn’t end up taking away any awards at this year’s Grammy ceremony this year but he did leave with something more valuable than any award could offer.

During a recent interview with Nick Cannon, Roddy Ricch explained how his creative process has never been driven by money, or accolades. However, the loss at the Grammys appeared to affect his outlook on releasing new music in the future, which of course, comes at the detriment to his fanbase. “I don’t know. I just had a feeling like I ain’t really worried about it. So, I end up going and I ain’t win, but I wasn’t mad. I ain’t going into it expecting nothing. I’m already a winner,” he explained of his Grammy snub. “When I lost all that, I was like, ‘I put a lot of time [into] music, you know? Damn.  I just sat back. I was talking to my ni**as. I’m like, ‘Man, I’ma chill back. I’ma kick back on the music for a little while.’”

Now, if that were the case, then we wouldn’t have the potential song of the summer, “Late @ Night” on DSPs. Thankfully, Roddy Ricch’s run-in with Jay-Z at the Grammys shortly after his loss reminded him of his purpose as an artist.

“I had seen Jay at the Grammys and he didn’t say, ‘What’s up?’ He didn’t say — you know what I’m sayin’? The first time I met him he was like, ‘What’s up young man?’ So I just expected that. And the first thing he asked me was, ‘When you dropping music?'” Roddy recalled, admitting that he didn’t really think much of it at the time.

“At the time, it didn’t really hit me but later on, I just thought of the power of that,” he continued. “Like, you know, I manifested, like, just talking about how they did him one year and it happened to me. And the same guy I was saying this happened to ended up asking me, like, when I’m gonna put out more music. It just kind of led me to think for a while, like, ‘Damn. I gotta keep doin’ this.'”

Despite the #1 singles and the incredible milestones he achieved within a short amount of time, he said that Jay ended up putting that battery in his back. “After that, I kind of wanted to back up but he really gave me the inspiration to kinda like, you gotta keep going. You gotta just see it through,” he added. “I just want to publicly appreciate Jay-Z for that and you know, like I said, it helped me keep going.”

HoneyKomb Brazy’s Mother Claims Her Home Keeps Being Shot Up After Parents’ Murder

Earlier in the year, HoneyKomb Brazy suffered a tremendous loss when he lost both his grandparents in a tragic double-murder. While initial reports claimed they had been set on fire, the Rap-A-Lot Records signee later cleared took to social media to clear up the rumors and set the record straight.

“Stop saying my granny n grandpa got set on fire they had COVID 19 both of them was on oxygen tanks they blew up when they was shooting in the house,” explained the rapper, who many suspect was somehow connected to the tragedy. Unfortunately for his family, it seems like their nightmare isn’t over yet. Since the incident, his mother has explained Tenecsha Jones reports her home has been the target of multiple other shootings.

According to local Alabama news outlet NBC15 News, Jones admitted she believes she was the intended target of another shooting on Wednesday (June 3). To her advantage, she wasn’t home at the time of the incident. She has since moved out, adding she’s concerned for her safety since this is the fourth time people have shot at her house

“They shot it up again,” she said. “I can tell. I came here yesterday and those weren’t there,” gesturing to bullet holes in a glass window. “Not this glass. None of that.”

When asked about why she suspects she may be the target, she flatly said, “Because they want my son Nashon Jones dead.” Nason, aka HoneyKomb Brazy, is currently behind bars for a probation violation.

“I’m kind of like shaky,” added his mother. “I’m kind of like nervous. I’m kind of like upset, and I lost everything.”

For now, HoneyKomb Brazy remains in a local jail, while his mother tries to keep the rest of his family safe.

Lil Mosey Returns To Instagram After Second-Degree Rape Charge

Back in April, we reported that there was a warrant out for Lil Mosey’s arrest after he was accused of skipping out on a mandatory court date for a second-degree rape charge. He, along with his co-defendant Francisco Prater, are accused of having sex with the victim, “while she was incapable of consent by reason of being physically helpless or mentally incapacitated.”

He pleaded not guilty in the case and was ordered to stay away from the alleged victim last month. With his trial set to begin in July, the “Blueberry Faygo” artist shared his first post on Instagram since news of the case went viral.

Electing to forgo any mention of his legal drama, the rapper shared a lone post Friday (June 4) highlighting his musical achievements. “Legend in the making, thanks to my fans & GOD,” wrote the rapper in the caption of a photo of his different RIAA placques. “love y’all,” he added.

As for his legal troubles, the rapper alleges he didn’t realize he had an upcoming court date back in April 2021, which was the reason he failed to appear before the judge. After managing to post bail, his legal team requested a judge to consider not starting up the trial until 2022 and to green light performing internationally.

While the judge agreed to allow Mosey to tour internationally freely, his trial is still scheduled to begin in July.

We’ll keep you updated with subsequent developments.

One of the highlights of 2020 was the arrival of Pop Smoke’s debut album, Shoot for The Stars, Aim for The Moon.
