Pa Salieu & slowthai Deliver High Energy On “Glidin”

Pa Salieu has been the one to watch ever since he dropped, “Frontline” in 2018. The rapper has been blowing up in the past year alone, culminating in the release of his debut mixtape, Send Them To Conventry in November 2020. He’s been relatively low-key ever since with fans anticipating to witness the project performed live at festivals in a post-COVID world which seems more than likely with the increase in vaccines.

With summer just about here, Pa Salieu is back with his first single of 2021 with some help from slowthai. The two team up for their new single, “Glidin'” where they deliver high-energy and an animated charm that’s impossible to recreate.

Check out the latest offering from the two rappers below and sound off in the comments with your thoughts.

Canelo Alvarez & Oscar De La Hoya Go After Each Other On IG

Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De La Hoya certainly have a turbulent history with one another. For the better part of Canelo’s career, he was signed to Golden Boy Promotions which is led by De La Hoya. Eventually, Alvarez left the agency due to numerous issues with De La Hoya and his behavior. This led to a lawsuit in 2020, which was settled out of court. Now, the two clearly don’t like each other, and Canelo has even stated in interviews that De La Hoya has a drinking problem.

Recently, the beef hit a new high as De La Hoya took to the comments section of an Instagram post, to trash-talk Alvarez. In the Instagram post, Alvarez could be seen training an up-and-coming boxer, although De La Hoya took issue with Canelo’s form. “Please, this guy does everything wrong. Head up when he throws hooks. On his heels, flat-footed. What else? Oh, he avoids Charlo,” De La Hoya said.

As you can see in the screenshot below, Alvarez saw the comment and immediately took exception to it. That’s when he said “Oh really? You want me to talk? F***ing traitor. Do me a favour and go f*** yourself.” Needless to say, these two went from friends to enemies incredibly fast.

Alvarez has been doing just fine since his split from Golden Boy Promotions, and recently he defeated Billy Joe Saunders in what turned out to be a compelling matchup. As for De La Hoya, he has plans to return to the ring soon, and fans are curious as to who he will be up against.

Lloyd Banks & Benny The Butcher Team Up On “Formaldehyde”

At one point, it seemed like we were going to be waiting as long for a project from Lloyd Banks as we did with Jay Electronica’s debut album. Thankfully, that was not the case. After a few stellar guest verses and some loose tracks dropping here and there, Friday was the day that Lloyd Banks unleashed his latest body of work, Course Of The Inevitable. With 18 songs in total, the guest appearances are excellently curated to bring out the best out of Lloyd Banks as well as his collaborators.

The rapper reconnects with Griselda’s Benny The Butcher for the grimey banger, “Formaldehyde.” The record is an excellent showcase of the magic of hip-hop in its purest form — beats and bars. Lloyd Banks best captures his absence from the game on the first few bars, rapping, “Just let the album ride, I’m back in the zone, it’s 2009/ You on the browser lines, I’m watchin’ you n***as with Malcolm eyes.”

There probably isn’t a better fit for the record than Benny The Butcher. The Buffalo rapper’s dives into the grimey production with a matter-of-fact presence. “It hurt ’em worse when you exceed expectations,” he raps. “In my interviews, they tell me, “Explain more”/It’s simple, I took a risk and it paid off.”

Peep the record below.

Quotable Lyrics
No more fakin’ now, you normal facin’ clown
I got better terror to hold your minds than Norman Bates, and now
You don’t wanna shake with the dog, need my paws on the spaceship now
Gotta leave my mark on the town, where they normalize heat and foul

LeBron James & Devin Booker Show Love After Hard-Fought Series

LeBron James is easily one of the greatest players to ever step on a basketball court. With four NBA titles under his belt, he will forever be a Top 5 player in the history of the game. Unfortunately, this was not a good season for him and the Lakers as they were eliminated by the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the NBA playoffs. The team was simply too injured to make a run, and now, the playoffs will continue without James and the purple and gold.

Throughout the Lakers-Suns series, Devin Booker showed exactly why he is one of the best players in the league and he certainly caught the attention of fans and his peers. In fact, following the decisive Game 6, LeBron and Booker met up and exchanged jerseys. LeBron even signed his uniform and based on the photos below, it’s clear that Booker was appreciative.

Booker is the future of the NBA and once LeBron and his era retire, there is no doubt that Booker will immediately become a Top 3 player in the NBA. He has the talent to do wonders on the court and if the Suns can pull off a deep run in the playoffs, his stock will immediately skyrocket.

In the next round, Booker and the Suns will be taking on the Denver Nuggets, who are currently dealing with injuries of their own. The series will begin on Monday.

Lil Baby & Lil Durk Stay Golden On “Please”

There was no telling what Lil Durk and Lil Baby would bring to the table with the release of their collaborative effort The Voice Of The Heroes. For months, the two had fans anticipating a joint project from the rap game’s Magic and Kareem. The 18-song effort keeps features to a minimum with both Baby and Durk delivering stand-out performances; complimenting each other without compromising the competitive nature that rap brings to the table.

Among the array of producers credited on the project, On “Please,” the two rappers connect with TurboThe two reflect on the morals of the streets that have helped them navigate through the music industry without compromising their authenticity. Turbo’s airy, spacey production compliments the plaintive tone of Baby and Durk’s verses.

The two offer gutwrenching honesty that The brute honesty comes out during Durk’s verse where he seemingly reflects on the death of King Von, rapping, “I can’t post up like a killer knowin’ them n***as killed my twin.”

Quotable Lyrics
I know watches, your shit fake, I could tell a Richard by its face
Real n***a when I’m around y’all, I be feeling out of place
The industry ain’t let me in, the judge ain’t let me travel then
Ain’t no solid Percs, I might go check one of them capsules in

Metta World Peace Offers Bold Suggestion For Dealing With Rowdy Fans

Metta World Peace, also known as Metta Sandiford-Artest, has had a unique history in the NBA. While he now preaches meditation and pacifism, there was a time where Metta could be seen getting into it with fans in the stands. The Malice At The Palace is still engrained in the minds of NBA fans everywhere, and it is an incident that changed the league forever.

Unfortunately, fans continue to get out of pocket during games, and it is starting to get out of hand. With Kyrie Irving, Trae Young, Ja Morant, and even Russell Westbrook becoming the victims of fan harassment, the league is looking to do something about it, and Metta has the answers. While speaking to Rich Eisen, Metta said that the league should start enforcing a new rule that would force spectators to attend therapy sessions prior to entering the arena.

“The water bottle and the spitting, that’s kind of a little too much, and when you’re getting to that point, it probably should be mandatory that fans see some therapy before coming to a playoff game. … Maybe we need proof of therapy session now,” World Peace said.

His suggestion isn’t exactly practical and it seems pretty reasonable to assume that this will never actually happen. However, you have to appreciate how World Peace is thinking here, especially since he has some experience with the topic.

Ezekiel Elliott Sued After Dog Reportedly Bites Yet Another Person

Just last week, it was reported that Ezekiel Elliott was under investigation after his dogs escaped his home in Frisco, Texas. His dogs reportedly bit some of his neighbors, which led to complaints to the authorities. In the midst of this incident, Elliott was also fighting a lawsuit against his former pool cleaner, who claimed they were bitten by his Rottweiler back in 2020. Needless to say, the investigation was the last thing Elliott needed.

Well now, yet another alleged dog bite victim has come forward. Brandon Williams, a former employee at the Bliss Pet Resort, is now suing Elliott and the dog spa for anywhere between $250K and $1 million after an alleged incident back in March of this year. Williams says he took the Rottweiler out to do his business, when all of a sudden, the dog allegedly attacked him.

“Mr. Elliott and his representatives were very surprised to learn of Mr. Williams’ complaint, particularly given that Bliss Pet Spa indicated at the time of the incident that this was not uncommon and was being handled under standard spa protocol. Mr. Elliott will address this matter accordingly,” Elliott’s attorney Frank Salzano told TMZ.

This lawsuit is ongoing, and as it stands, Elliott has yet to speak out about the case, on his own behalf. Stay tuned for updates on this story as we will be sure to bring them to you.

Lil Reese Charged With Domestic Violence 2 Weeks After Being Shot: Report

After being named as one of three men who were shot in Chicago in mid-May, Lil Reese seems to have made a full recovery. Shortly after the incident, the Illinois native was listed as being in “fair” condition, although leaked graphic footage showing the rapper barely conscious later floated around the internet.

Since then, he’s been spotted looking much happy and healthier, making his first public appearance since the shooting last weekend (May 30). Unfortunately, it seems like he’s run into a little more trouble since then. According to TMZ, Reese has been arrested for allegedly getting into a serious physical altercation with his girlfriend.

The publication reports that the Chicago emcee was arrested on the night of May 29 after officers were called to his home. In the police report obtained by TMZ, his girlfriend explained to cops that they had gotten into a serious argument that allegedly became physical.

Officers say she claims Reese pulled her hair and hit her in the face with his fists closed, causing an injury on her lower lip, which responding officers were able to verify. Reese was then arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery for the incident.

He was released after posting a $10,000 bond. As mentioned prior, the incident follows him being shot in his hometown after someone opened fire into a Dodge Durango that was allegedly stolen.

He was accused of being involved with the alleged robbery of the cars, but no official charges have been brought forth.

Damian Lillard Reveals Who He Wants As His Next Head Coach

Damian Lillard has been the main reason why the Portland Trail Blazers are relevant right now. Simply put, Lillard is a superstar and he has committed himself to stay with a small market team, which is definitely a noble cause. Unfortunately, Lillard has had limited playoff success over the past few years, and it is easy to see why. The team around him simply isn’t good enough and no matter how many 50-point games Lillard has, it will simply never be enough.

Last night, the Blazers announced that they had parted ways with their longtime head coach Terry Stotts. While Lillard was a fan of Stotts, he understands more than anyone that sometimes, a change is necessary. According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports, Lillard already has a preference when it comes to the team’s next head coach, and that man just so happens to be Jason Kidd.

Kidd is currently an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Lakers and it seems like a certainty at this point that he will be a head coach again next season. There are numerous job openings and the Blazers gig could prove to be the most attractive, especially when you consider how Kidd and Lillard are both all-time great point guards.

It remains to be seen who will get the Blazers job, although if you’re Portland, it would behoove you to make the move your superstar wants.
