Teyana Taylor Is The First Black Woman To Be Named ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’ By ‘Maxim’

Teyana Taylor may be retired from music, but she’s still hard at work. She’s since pivoted to acting, appearing in Coming 2 America and confirming a reality TV series. Now, her success has earned her another title. Taylor has officially been named Maxim Magazine‘s “Sexiest Woman Alive” for their latest issue.

Taylor graces Maxim‘s annual Hot 100 cover, making her the first Black woman to earn the magazine’s “Sexiest Woman Alive” title. “Somebody pinch me!!!!,” Taylor wrote alongside her cover shoot photos. The musician went on to explain that she showed up to the shoot bare-faced in sweatpants thinking a team would give her a makeover. Instead, the photographer wanted her to be her most authentic self:

“This particular day was dope because it made me see another side of myself. I had just dropped JUNIE off at school before heading straight to the shoot; sweatpants a beanie and an army jacket. My hair wasn’t done for a ‘shoot’ because I planned on throwing on a wig & I didn’t have on any make up. But when I got there the legendary @Gilles_bensimon said and I quote…. ‘Let’s shoot! I want you to stay in this…’ I said ‘HUH?! Well let me at least start my make up.. ‘ as y’all can see I barely had any lashes left 😩 He says no ‘my dear this is pure.’ And in regular Teyana Taylor fashion I said ‘okay but look Ah b*tch doing her baby hairs’ LOL I was like SO LET ME UNDERSTAND THIS…I WILL BE THE SEXIEST Woman Alive IN SWEATS AND A SKULLY? Um I guess….’ as confused as I was my heart also melted… I say all of this to say in the true words of Audrey Hepburn… ‘The beauty of a woman is not in facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years.’ Embrace and love yourselves for who & what you are because only the purest heart shines through.”

Kanye West has dominated the world of fashion with the Yeezy brand, extending his creative work in design to his newly launched collaboration with GAP. This morning, they unveiled the baby blue round jacket as the first piece of their collab.

The announcement of his partnership in 2020 also coincided with his run for president for which he reportedly trademarked “WEST DAY EVER” for use on the campaign trail. He ended up conceding with intentions of running again in 2024 but it looks like the trademark will be put to better use.  Following the reveal of the YZY x GAP piece, Kanye West’s manager Abou “Bu” Thiam shared an update on Kanye’s West Day Ever album. Sliding underneath Gap’s IG post, Bu wrote, “WestDayEver. Album OTW.”

It’s unclear when the album will see the light of day, or if it ever will, but CyHi The Prynce did recently reveal that ‘Ye’s forthcoming album DONDA is actually in the works. The rapper was expected to drop DONDA in July 2020 but ultimately, it never dropped. While ‘Ye’s marital issues have impacted his creative output, CyHi The Prynce said they were working on it late last year and resumed the recording process in early March.

Sabrina Peterson Responds To T.I. Mocking Her

T.I. and his wife Tiny Harris are presently at the center of some extremely serious accusations from over thirty women. Their accusers have claimed that the Atlanta-based couple drugged them, sexually assaulted them, raped them, trafficked them, and more. T.I. and Tiny have denied the accusations and a case against them in Las Vegas was closed.

All of these allegations started after Sabrina Peterson, a former friend of Tiny, called out both of them, accusing T.I. of pointing a gun at her head many years ago in front of her children. Last night, T.I. started the rollout for his final album, titled Kill The King, with the release of his music video for “What It’s Come To.” In the video, Tip mocks Sabrina Peterson, who previously asked the rapper to apologize to her in exchange for her dropping her lawsuit

Peterson has officially responded to the humiliating tactics employed by T.I., calling him out and saying that he’s not hurting her… he’s hurting his chances with the investigators.

“I have been in federal trouble before,” she started on Instagram. “No matter how the public feels about [you] they can’t save you. Since your million dollar team won’t tell you I will. You aren’t taunting me you are taunting your investigators. You aren’t taunting me you are igniting more women that have stayed quiet that you victimized. DUMMY.”

She added more in her caption, saying, “Many of your fans have been victimized in their lifetime. Your tactics aren’t a good look. It’s actually sad! It’s heartbreaking! It’s one thing to put a gun to a woman’s head but it something totally different to keep attempting to victimized that woman again & again. When it’s all said it done I took the high road & tried to give mercy but you repaid it with mockery. Get out the booth & behind cameras & SEE ME IN COURT!”

“Space Jam” Lebron 19 Colorways Revealed Ahead Of Movie Premiere

LeBron James’ 18th NBA season came to an unfortunate end last Thursday as the Los Angeles Lakers were beat out of the playoffs by the Phoenix Suns. The loss led some to wonder if the star could ever clinch another championship during his long career in Basketball, though James himself appeared quickly refocused on his new venture with the “Tune Squad” in the upcoming Space Jam sequel, Space Jam 2: A New Legacy. The new shoes, which are an update to the LeBron signature model, will not only accompany merchandise rollout for the new movie but will be worn by James next season.

The shoe features two air bubbles, like those in the Nike Air Max, with one bubble at the heel and another at the forefoot. These bubbles have been upgraded in this iteration of the shoe to allow for increased comfort and stability on the court. The LeBron 19 will come in two different color ways– an orange, yellow, and blue look that matches the uniforms of the “Tune Squad” (LeBron’s team in the movie made up of Bugs Bunny and other characters from Looney Toons) and another white and blue look that resembles the Squad’s sweatsuits.

Fredo Bang Explains Why He Needs $100k To Perform In His Hometown Baton Rouge

Fredo Bang is no stranger to the street life. Last month, the rapper sent out a friendly warning to rappers about sharing images of their loved ones online. “Street Guys, Be Smart On Posting Y’all Mother. Make Sure Y’all Not Putting Her In Harms Way for a Post,” tweeted the rapper. “#HappyMothersDay [gorilla emoji] [red heart emoji].”

In a new interview, he recently confessed how he needs to see a $100k check to perform in his hometown. Likely in connection with his street-dude status, the Baton Rouge rapper explained the different things he would have to deal with if he was hoping to do a show back home.

“Baton Rouge, you need something extra?” asks the VladTV interviewer. “Yeah, definitely,” answers Fredo. “Well, one, I’m at a nice amount per show right now. And two, I haven’t performed in Baton Rouge since 2015 or 14? And when I did perform in Baton Rouge back then, it was little team parties, it wasn’t no actual club, you feel me?”

He continues, “Nobody in the city wants me to get my own show or throw a lil bash…if y’all don’t wanna let me do my thing, ima charge you to let you do your thing. That’s just how it’s going.”

“And on top of that, I gotta deal with the mayor and em, the police force, and all that stuff. I gotta get harassed to come down, I might end up getting searched, it’s all types of things that could happen. I gotta have my momma waiting up all night until I leave the city, for all that I need to be compensated,” he explained.

When he puts it like that, the hefty sticker price he’s asking for makes sense. What are your thoughts? Let us down in the comments.

Mach Hommy, Westside Gunn, & Keisha Plum Drop “Folie A Deux” Visuals

Fresh off releasing one of the year’s most critically acclaimed projects thus far in Pray For Haiti, Mach Hommy has continued to keep his momentum rolling with the release of a new music video. The single in question is “Folie A Deux,” a standout track that finds him pledging allegiance to the Griselda movement alongside Westside Gunn and Keisha Plum, the deadliest spoken word artist in the game.

Visually, the Daily Gems-directed video is unexpectedly raw, shining a light on Little Haiti while highlighting Mach and Gunn’s chemistry. Representing for the New Jersey Devils and face-concealing bandana, Hommy holds it down alongside his newly reacquainted creative partner. As for Gunn, he remains true to his reputation as one of the waviest in the game, rocking a yellow sweater, several iced-out chains, and a blazing pair of shorts. It doesn’t hurt that both parties are nice with the bars, with Hommy in particular being among the sharpest lyricists currently putting in work right now.

Should you be keen on supporting an excellent project in the JAY-Z and Drake-endorsed Pray For Haiti, be sure to run up the numbers on the new video for “Folie A Deux” right here.

Floyd Mayweather Touts Logan Paul Fight As “Legalized Bank Robbing”

Sunday night’s highly anticipated fight between undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather and Youtube star Logan Paul has left some fans and spectators with a bad taste in their mouth, though Mayweather seems as content as ever. After months of trolling and hype around the fight, neither boxer came out with a victory and instead were left at a draw at the end of the 8th round. Much to the pleasure of Mayweather, the pair both left the ring with very large payouts.

In an interview after the fight, Mayweather not only asserted that he was the best at boxing but joked that accumulating large payouts, like “legalized bank robbing,” is also his forté.

Along with his record-setting career in Boxing, Mayweather has always had a talent to make the most (literally) out of every opportunity. From participating in wrestling matches and taking exhibition fights with celebrities and non-boxers, Mayweather has reportedly made upwards of $1 billion over his career as one of the highest-earning athletes of all time. Later in the same interview, Floyd explains how changing his name from “Pretty Boy Floyd” to “Money Mayweather” created a new mindset and persona that led him to larger sums.

Mayweather wants the “Money Mayweather” moniker to stick for a while, stating that his mind is still focused on increasing his wealth: “They say, ‘It’s not all about the money.’ Well, your kids can’t eat legacy. The patches on my trunks, [earned me] $30 million alone.” The boxer’s trunks were sponsored by a number of high profile companies, one of them being brand Fasion Nova.

It’s reported that Mayweather made upwards of $100 million for Sunday’s fight while Paul took a slightly smaller payout.

Check out a clip from the interview below. Do you think the fight was worth the money for Mayweather?

MTV VMAs Plan A Live Audience Return To NYC’s Barclays Center In 2021

It was looking hopeful last June when New York Governor Andrew Cuomo gave the MTV VMAs the go-ahead to take place at the Barclays Center in 2020 with a “limited” audience. However, following an uptick in COVID cases, the VMAs instead opted to host the event at an outdoor space, invite only a virtual audience, and have just a handful of in-person performances. But now as large-scale events eye a late summer return, the VMAs are looking to host their 2021 event indoors.

The VMAs announced Tuesday that the awards show will make an in-person return this year. It’s slated to take place September 12 at the Barclays Center once again, and organizers say they plan to allow fans to attend. According to press materials, the event will “feature epic performances from the biggest names in music and bring fans together from across the globe to celebrate the return of live entertainment.”

Though organizers are feeling confident about gathering indoors, they are still making sure to take safety protocols seriously. “The health and safety of artists, fans, staff, and partners remain the number one priority, and MTV and Barclays Center are working closely with state and local officials to implement best practices in order to safely bring together music fans from around the globe,” organizers wrote in a statement.

The VMAs have yet to announce which artists are set to take the stage in September. Last year’s ceremony saw some showstopping performances by The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, BTS, and Lady Gaga, whose various eye-catching masks stole the show.
